Chapters Bonebeat's Five Horror-Attraction Nights
I sat in my chair as I bounced a ball off the wall and into my yellow leathery wings. I'm Bonebeat the bat pony. I currently work in Pinkie Pie Fright to make sure I don't get sued for not finishing my hours. I have yellow fur, cat-like eyes, and I keep a red jacket on. I had a purple security hat on top of my brown hair, but it's cool. I kind of match this place in a way. I hear ringing from the phone and pick it up to hear a familiar raspy voice. "Hey dude! So, I hear you're working again?"
"Rainbow Dash? What're you doing here?" I ask.
"Well, I am also sued for not really getting my hours filled out as well, I flunked out in the fourth night mid way. You the same?" She asks, a sound of interest in her voice.
"Yep, except this time I have no robots to worry about, and I have a mare friend at home to get to," I reply, smiling to myself a little.
"That's cool, I should probably start blabbing on about how everything works, ahem. So on your right is your camera, as you know, and it has two settings," she explained. I pressed on toggle map and it switches to vents. I nodded. "Now, if you double tap the vents, it should seal so the guests won't be going through it, but it deals one at a time though," she continues.
"I'd bet that no one wants to though," I say.
"Now on the left is your door and your reboot system, make sure to reboot anything so that it doesn't catch on fire, heheheheh."
It wasn't really funny, but I laugh a little. "Seriously though, reboot it so it won't catch on fire," she said seriously. I drop my smile and gulped. "Now, sometimes you have to watch the vents carefully because if you get too hot in there, you'll see some weird crap dude," Rainbow finishes. I nod to myself.
"Okay, I get that, but why do I really need these cameras?" I ask. In reality, I'm not complaining, just curious.
"You know, to keep an eye on ponies so they don't make out in the corner or something, now are there any questions?" Rainbow asks.
"Nope, other than how will this thing go any faster," I say bluntly. I hear laughter on the other end.
"Well, you know the number, so just call the phone mare when ya need me," she says. Before I hang up she startles me by yelling, "Oh wait before I forget!" I put my hoof back on the cameras. "Me and some other ponies are excavating the old place, so I'm gonna tell you all about it tomorrow!" She said before hanging up. I sighed. Alone again. I keep bouncing the ball for an hour before looking at the clock. It was about four AM so I decided to get up and walk around. I walk out the door and into the dark, crappy yellow hallway. I feel a little disturbance as I look at the Pinkie head next to me on a clothes rack. I walk a little forward and see my swivel seat in the office. I mouth the words 'I'll be back Swivly' before continuing onward. The checkered walls pass me as I move to look around. I stop in front of an arcade machine and sighed at how fake it was. Can't play anything on it. I stopped to raise an eyebrow when I notice a newspaper on the floor. I pick it up with my wing to read.
Flash News!
A massacre of ponies revealed in Pinkie Pizzaria! The name's of the following are: Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie. These five used to be grown, but an unknown magical source was used on them to grow backwards in an accelerated rate. The only survivor of the Elements of Harmony: Rainbow Dash is safe, and suspected of these murders. Her lawyers insist she was defending herself from the attacker.
The rest was blotted out by what I assume is ink. I had a quizzical look before putting it under my hat. I continue walking forward to the hallway lit by the Fluttershy head. I shudder in the remember wife of the article and tried not to imagine the decapitated head being real. I keep walking until I get to the exit. The exit sign glows red in the vinyl and does little to no help lighting the hallway. I look at my watch to jump a little to see it is five AM. I turn around and head back, and while I was walking back I found the apparently fake arcade machines to be real and active. One was showing the three main robots: Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy standing on stage. I move the joy stick to make the Pinkie one move. It moves and I catch a glimpse of something shadowy on the right. It disappears, leaving the text 'follow me' on the left. I smirked and went the opposite way, surprisingly worked. I went to Pirate's Cove, expecting to see the Rainbow Dash bot there. Instead, an Applejack robot was there. I tried to rack my head to remember it being there, but I don't. I sighed and continued onward. I then, surprisingly found the character in the office. I tilt my head, wondering why it was there for children to see. Then, I saw something that made my heart stop for a little bit. On the bottom, it says 'Follow me Bonebeat.' I freaked out and complied. I headed to where the shadowy thing was and always saw just a glimpse. When I was where I presumed the exit is, I stopped at the top as the bottom said 'ERROR' in red. I groaned and started to go back to stage when the game scared me by a blue Pegasus coming out and tearing my character apart. It then went blank before I got a good look. I look at the other arcade machine still on and saw a little minivans with Balloon Spike in it. I shifted to that one and started playing. I think I broke the game in the end because when I did something other than head towards the exit door, it crashed. I sighed before I heard the morning bells toil and I headed out back to my hut. On the way, I bumped into Violet Pastel, my marefriend, and had a chat. "Hi Pastel! How're you?" I ask.
"I'm great, what's with the hat?" She asks. I smirk and did a small pose.
"I am the dashing night guard in Pinkie Frights," I mockingly say, getting a chuckle from her.
"Funny, why?" She asks.
"Well, I didn't finish the first place so I have to do this," I say. She nods. "Oh! Speaking of the first place!" I say. I reach to get the article under my hat to find nothing there. I gasp slightly and just scratched my head. "Do you know what happened over there?" I ask quickly. Pastel's smile dropped.
"You haven't heard? The place was shut down. I heard that there was a murderer working there, but it was just a rumor," she says.
"Uh huh, was there an Applejack robot ever there?" I ask. She tilts her head in thought.
"... I think there was, but it was supposedly replaced with the Rainbow Dash one after someone tampered with it. It was too broken to fix. So, they instantly replaced it with a Rainbow Dash one," she explained. "How did you hear about the Applejack one? Barely anypony remembers it," she says. I shrug.
"I read up some stuff in the library. Anyway, I'm going back to my house, later," I say hurriedly, trotting in a fast pace back to my hut. Pastel looks at me weirdly before continuing on her way.
Bonebeat's Five Horror-Attraction Nights
Chapter 2: This Crap Again
I sit in Swivly, my swivel seat as I laid back. I hear the phone ring so I pick it up. "Hiya Bonebeat, so this is a prerecorded message this time, but we found one! A vintage creepy as Tartarus robot! Sure it has a few bits of guts, but it's a live one! Also, we found some recordings of Twilight before she... Passed away..." Rainbow Dash coughs to clear her throat. "Right, um she was explaining how to not use the suits or whatever... Anyway, I'm gonna check up on you tomorrow after the shift, so be prepared okay," she says before putting on the recording of Twilight.
"Hi! This is an instructional audio recording for the spring lock mechanisms!" She said in a chip voice that sounded super fake for a moment. "Please remember that the spring lock mechanisms are extremely sensitive, and that even a drop of water activates them. I had Rainbow Dash come over to help me with this project-" I hear a shuffling of hooves before hearing them continue on. I check the cameras while they talk to make sure everything's in order, the thing about the fire yesterday got me worried a little. As I flipped through the screens, I saw something that made my heart stop a little. In the hallway near the entrance, stood a lone yellow, and red animatronic. It had red glowing eyes, like the devil. It's cutie mark was a symbol that resembled a sun, half being red and half being yellow. Oddly enough, I kind of recognize it as an old model that Rarity replaced. It's name is Sunset Shimmer. It was staring at the camera, it's eyes twitching slightly from the camera to the corridor. I could just see a crooked, insane smile under the mask. Someone was inside it . I freaked out as I kept staring at it as it stares back. Then, it seemed to have disappeared. I flipped to the Fluttershy lit corridor, seeing it just standing there now. I look at the controls I have to see an audio file. I look into the hall from before and clicked it. Instantly, the red and yellow robot ran in, searching frantically. I don't know what the audio was, but I gained it's attention. I played it at the entrance, but Sunset didn't fall for it. She looked at the camera, glaring. All of a sudden, the audio button said error and a loud staticky sound played in my room. I yelled and looked out the window to see a toy Apple-bot staring at me. It's head was showing with burn marks everywhere, and it's eyes consisted of nothing but a white glow. I panicked as I knew Sunset would be attracted to this noise.
"Shut up!" I yell. It literally shook it's head and grew louder, becoming even scarier. Throughout the staticky mess, I heard something say 'no'. I look left to my reboot menu. It said audio was broken so I reboot it. Fairly soon, the staticky sound died down and I breathed a sigh of relief. I look back over to the camera. I flipped to the hallway next to the arcade machines. I quickly went to the lit hallway and played audio. I flipped back to Sunset to see her turn around and walk back. I breathe a sigh of relief. I take a look at the clock to see it is four AM. I smiled a sigh of relief. I look up and gulp to see Fluttershy, burnt and trashed, running at me while screaming with anger. I scream in fear, covering my eyes for the worst to happen. I wait a moment for it to kill me, only to have silence. I poke an eye out to see nothing there. Except for a Sunset Shimmer robot in the window. I look at the clock quickly to see it's 5 AM. I chuckle nervously as I look at the robot. I see faint breathe fogs on the glass before realizing it's alive. Very alive. I look at the camera and keep I look at the robot. I slowly reach my monitor and tapped the camera near the right corridor, and tapped audio. I hear a faint voice calling someone. The animatronic snaps its neck to the left to the corridor before trotting off with a fixed gaze. I breather out finally and look down. I see Sunset looking around, trying to find something or someone. I flip back to the hallway next to Flutter-lit hallway. I play audio and see Sunset gallop in, frantically, but too smoothly looking around. It kept slowing itself down, and slowly look around. I flip to Flutter-lit hallway and play audio once it was recovered. Sunset slowly walked forward, and stopped midway. Suddenly, I hear the bells of 6am ringing. Sunset's ear twitched ever so slightly and Sunset started walking to the entrance. My eyes widened in horror, wondering if the thing was going to try and escape. I grabbed a wrench near me. I gallop to the first corridor with my wrench in mouth, ready to beat up any 'batty'. I kind of chuckle to myself about that pun. I look around the corner and see the suit. I duck behind the corner again, feeling my heart beating as I contemplated on whether or not I should destroy it. I grimaced and turned the corner, charging head on while yelling a battle cry. Until I trip. For a moment, I had three left hooves and I fumbled forward all the way until I stop in front of the suit. I cover my eyes as I clench my teeth when I hear mechanical creaking over me, it's sounds echoing in my ears. I could just barely feel the state of a murderer on my head. I fell silent as I accept my fate. I hear silence for about a few moments. I uncover one of my eyes. Above me was an empty Sunset Shimmer suit. It towered over me, without its plastic eyes, staring with its red glowing eyes. I back up a little before realizing it wasn't even alive. I walk up close to it and tried to feel it breathing, only to feel nothing. I sighed to myself as I look at it.
"Bonebeat buddy, what'd you get yourself into," I mutter to myself. I walk off to the arcade machines to see if they're on. Instead, I find a news paper article again, with a different article though.
News Flash
Rainbow Dash, bearer of the element of Loyalty, is found innocent, but local detectives say otherwise. "She isn't innocent, she is a lying murderer, trying to cover it up!" - Magnefying Bob. Evidence does point to a local Pinkie Pizzarian employee, Blu Bass. He is seen after the murders, and is highly suspicious of illegal magic and drug abuse. Jury will decide the fate of this suspect.
The rest was blotted out. I stuck the paper in my hat and turned to see something move from the corridor. I freeze before looking at the arcade machines. They were up and running, both with a different game than before. I played the right one first, playing the same game from yesterday. This time, I played as Fluttershy. I step off the stage and follow the blue figure. I walk along the hall until I get the same reaction as last night, getting torn apart in the end. I turn my attention to the other machine and start playing. I appear as Toy Fluttershy, holding a platter with her wing. I walk around with a couple of cupcakes before getting to a blue little Pegasus. It was in the corner alone, and wearing a mask. I gave her a cupcake before the game crashed. I went home, wondering about everything wrong with this place.
Bonebeat's Five Horror-Attraction Nights
I reached into my hat and grabbed the news article, showing it to Rainbow Dash. We were in her house, having some coffee. "Hmm, yeah I remember, the bastard got what was coming to him," Rainbow says, taking a calm sip. I raised an eyebrow at this behavior.
"You're not still mad at him?" I ask. She shook her head.
"This was about thirty years ago Bonebeat, I've learned to kind of forgive him or something," she says, taking another sip.
"Where is he now?" I ask. She sighed.
"Bonebeat, don't be a detective on this, he died before he even got a lawyer, something about a knife incident," she cooly replies. "I kind of forgot about it until I saw that article," she says. I tilt my head at her and sighed.
"Guess hotheads can be forgivable as well," I say. Rainbow slams her hoof down.
"What'd ya call me?!" She asks harshly. I jump back in surprise.
"I-I um, called you um, hot?" I ask. I mentally slap myself, for I already have a marefriend. Rainbow heaved for a little bit before sighing.
"Sorry, um I am still on edge today. Oh by the way, do you want the pre-recorded tapes? I have been meaning to get rid of that junk," she says. I nod, and got the tapes. "Now, I really like your company, I do, but I have some stuff I need to get done," she says. I nod and hurriedly leave. I glided to the ground hurriedly, feeling watched. To make sure I wasn't, I look over my shoulder and I see a pony watching me. They dissappear quickly before I got a good look. I hurried off to my hut, double scared by now.
I shut the wooden door of my hut, gasping for air after running. I went over to a computer, and pushed the eject button. I pulled up the CDs and put one in.
"Hello! Welcome to the tutorial on how to properly function your spring lock suit, and my cooperating mare is Rainbow Dash today! Tell me Rainbow, what is the first step to the suit?" Asks a voice. I heard a groan and hooves shuffling.
"Do we seriously need to retake this Twilight? I thought the first one was better," Rainbow's voice says. Silence past as I assume Twilight was giving a glare. "Fine. My name's Rainbow Dash, and sadly I'm one of the only experts on these springlock suits because of school. Stupid teachers. Anyway, make sure you do not fidget around in it too much, be very cautious. It is able to rip off more than your flesh if you're not careful. If you do somehow manage to do it, there are regeneration spells and charms to make it better. Twilight is an expert on it. Also, anything wet will disturb the locks as well, so please use caution. Alright, you take lead Twilight, I have to make a few calls soon. I'm starting to get the hang of this whole 'Talking and explaining thing,'" the CD ends and I stared in the distance when I was listening. I ejected the disk and put the new one in.
"Hello, I am Rainbow Dash here with another tutorial on your springlock mechanism suits. For pegasi, the animatronic suit may have an invisible wing component and same thing for the unicorns. There are a certain ways of movement that are useful and clever, but you'll have to learn first hoof. Huh? Oh, um, I have to uh, go, bye."
I stare confused at the computer, wondering what that's about. I shrug and swap out CDs. "Uh, hello? Hello? Um, so there was a new memento passed around, that nopony is allowed in the safe room, as it is actually the contrary, um, personally, I feel like it is all fine and that as long as you don't touch the... The other suit, it's gonna be fine... A-anyway I have to go, bye..." I stare at the ceiling, listening carefully. I swap out CDs and continued doing so.
"Heheh, hi, um, t-there's a new memento on the suits, they are not to be examined or moved, u-um... Celestia I-I can't d-do this!" Silence ensues before Rainbow speaks again. "U-um, managers have noticed the suits h-have been extremely tampered with. Uh, I hear they're going to add some adjustments to the security office. I'm going to w-work there for the time being next week after I get a handle o-on, this... Uh, quick side note, mechanics need to try cleaning the suits at least once please. T-thank you."
I stare confused at the ceiling, pondering to myself. What was Rainbow hiding? She sounded distressed and nervous. I got up and switched the CD with the last one.
"... I can't do this, t-this is too much f-for me right n-now, please go away!" Rainbow yells. "I d-didn't want this too happen, but why does it happen anyway!?" She asks outloud, screaming a little. "... Please, just go away, leave me be... I can't make it right, I just can't... Wait, what if I t-" It was cut off, and it seems to have been important. The CD skips before it resumes to a different part. "I won't go down! This is not how I am going down!" I hear shuffling before hearing her say, "Gotcha."
Soon, a contraption of some sort went off in the background, and I hear muffled screaming. I wince in the pitch, horrified by what I'm hearing. The screams keep going before it stops abruptly, a distorted voice sounded instead. "It's me, help me, please, it's cold."
The CD ends, leaving me horrified and traumatized.
