Stan is a spy sent to watch the Equestrian Girls and investigate rumors of strange happenings at their school. As exciting as that sounds he longs to be back in New York, his longtime home. While pining, Applejack approaches and invites him to a Halloween party she's throwing. He, ultimately, agrees to attend, and even ends up helping set up.

During the party an impromptu football game breaks out between Rainbow Dash and Big Mac's team, after which they hold a dance and scary story competition. Things seem to be going fine, but a shadowy figure watches from the woods...
