Author's Note

So yeah if the title wasn't any hint this is another Persona story but it isn't related to the other story I'm working on but rather based on Persona 4. That being said, the layout of each chapter will consist of a "day" so yes there will be a lot of chapters but some will be really short.

The only other thing I want to make clear is that I'm not trying to steal anything from MythrilMoth, this is only inspired by his Persona fic.

“Man's enemies are not demons, but human beings like himself.” - Lao Tzu

Morning

The entire trip felt as if it was never ending...and the smell of exhaust and the nearby restroom was finally getting to her. Twilight Sparkle knew it was better to sit up in the front of the bus but luck apparently wasn't on her side this morning. The bus was mostly packed so she was forced to sit in the back, but at least she wasn't right next to the restroom.

She laid back in her seat, trying to ignore the slight nausea in her stomach. She then heard a whine and looked down at her bag as a head popped out of the opening. Twilight smiled. “Don't worry Spike, I think I'll manage...hopefully. Besides, we should be arriving in Canterlot soon.”

Normally she'd be preparing for another year at Crystal Prep but things changed over the last month. Her parents were currently overseas so until the end of the school year she'd be staying with her brother Shining Armor and Cadance. Cadance was the Dean at Crystal Prep so she was able to help take care of the transferring process, although Twilight still wondered why the two moved to Canterlot if it meant Cadance would have to commute all the time.

For this year, she'd be attending Canterlot High and honestly, it didn't bother her that she was changing schools. Of course, she loved Crystal Prep but on the downside she didn't really have any friends and everyone there was either snobbish or just plain mean. That's what happens at a school only for the rich and entitled.

“Canterlot can't be any worse in that regard,” she thought. At any rate, she'd at least enjoy being with her brother and Cadance, the latter probably her only friend at Crystal Prep and like a sister figure to her.

She looked out the window and saw they were finally entering Canterlot. It wasn't nearly as big as the city, but it was quaint at the very least. They soon reached the station. “Guess we're finally here Spike.” She looked out the window. “I don't see Shining or Cadance but they'll probably be here soon.”

Twilight then closed her bag, but left it open enough for Spike to get enough air. She then slowly made her way to the front and outside, waiting for her luggage. The town was bustling with activity but it wasn't nearly as congested as it was back home.

Then she heard it, cutting across the noise of everything around her. “Twily!” There was only one person who called her by that name. She turned around and saw her brother and Cadance walking up to her.

She quickly ran up to him and gave him a hug. “It's good to see you again BBBFF.”

Shining chuckled. “You too sis.” It would've been weird to give Cadance a hug since they saw each other all the time at school but Twilight was always happy to see her.

“So I got one question...does your landlord allow dogs?” Twilight asked sheepishly, realizing she forgot to mention that Spike was coming along.

“I think it should be alright,” Cadance said. “I mean it's not like Spike is a Shepherd or anything.”

“Is he potty trained?” Shining asked.

Twilight rolled her eyes. “Of course he is.” She then got her luggage and they headed towards their car. “I really appreciate that you guys are willing to let me stay with you.”

“It's no trouble at all,” Shining said as he put her stuff in the back. “Besides, Mom and Dad deserve a good vacation now and then.”

“It's going to be weird not seeing you at school but I promise you'll like it here,” Cadance said. “Besides, you know Aunt Celestia and Luna.”

Twilight did recall meeting them a few times times. “Isn't Luna the scary one?”

Cadance giggled. “Oh come on, Luna isn't that scary.”

“I beg to differ,” Shining muttered. Once everything was packed, they headed home but Shining had to make a quick pit stop. “Just need to get some gas real quick. Might grab a snack too. Anyone hungry?”

“Shining you only ate breakfast like two hours ago,” Cadance said, sighing. “Fine, we'll wait here and have a girl talk then.”

“Oh boy…” Shining got out and waved over one of the assistants. “Just regular please.” He then went inside the store.

“So...feel weird having to go to a new school?” Cadance asked.

“I guess? I dunno, it can't be that different can it?” Twilight asked. “Are you sad I'm not going to be at Crystal Prep?”

“Of course not. I mean, sure it would be nice to see you everyday but this might be a better environment for you. The students there are...well as a Dean I'm not really allowed to say it but I can say unlike Principal Cinch, Celestia and Luna are much more approachable. Besides, Cinch is upset since CHS lately has been doing better on tests and in sports so…”

“You're implying I should get some exercise?” Twilight mock glared at her. “...I'll think about it.”

There was then a knock on her window that almost made her jump. She looked up and saw an older man in some weird uniform. “So terribly sorry to bug you but you wanted regular yes?”

“Uh...yes that's right,” Cadance replied.

“Perfect!” The man then began filling the car. “I hope you don't mind me asking but it looked as if one of you was coming into town for the first time? The city I presume?”

“Yeah... pretty much.” Twilight replied.

“Well I admit it is a bit quieter here than most places,” the attendant continued, who apparently was a conversationalist. “But we do have plenty of openings around here for jobs...though I admit you probably aren't interested in being a gas station attendant.”

“Shining sure is taking a while to get back,” Cadance said, a look of annoyance on her face. “I'll be back, he's probably debating whether to get chips or Little Debbie's.”

Twilight decided then to step out and get some fresh air. “I know what you're thinking, the air seems so much cleaner here doesn't it?” the attendant asked. “Well, that should do it. Before I go, allow me to personally welcome you to Canterlot.” He reached out his hand and Twilight politely shook it.

As he walked away, Twilight suddenly felt slightly lightheaded and she leaned against the car. Spike whined in concern. “I'm okay, I think the bus fumes finally got to me.”

Suddenly there was a yell from inside the store as someone opened the door quickly and rushed out. Judging by the commotion and the guy's pockets bulging, someone didn't feel like paying for food. Twilight knew there was no way she'd catch him and unfortunately thought the guy would get away. But then the unexpected happened.

Just as the guy was about to turn the corner from the store, he suddenly got clotheslined and got knocked onto his rear.

“Well, talk about good timing on my part.” There was another man next to him wearing nice pants, a collared shirt and vest. He was also wearing shades that hid his eyes.

Twilight couldn't help but go over and soon Shining, Cadance and another who Twilight assumed was the cashier came over to the scene. “Oh thank goodness you're here Detective,” the cashier said.

“You're a detective?” Twilight asked.

The man pulled off his shades and gave a big grin. “The name's Detective Blitz of the CPD. I was on my lunch break and came over here and that's when Mr. Shoplifter showed up.

Mr. Shoplifter apparently had the wind knocked out of him for he didn't even try to get up. Blitz went through his pocket and pulled out a candy bar. “Sheesh, guess the guy was hungry. Well I'll take it from here then.” He then got out a pair of handcuffs and cuffed the guy. “You guys have a nice day...oh on second thought I do need a cup of coffee.”

“I'll get you one right away!” the cashier said, running back into the store.

“Sorry about the hold up,” Shining said. “I saw the guy committing the act and thought I could catch him but he was too quick even for me.”

“At least it was only shoplifting,” Blitz said. He then chuckled. “Now Spitfire definitely has to praise me for this.” He then got his coffee and took a sip. “There we go...well he and I will be returning to the station so you all have a nice day.” He then pulled the guy up and the two of them made the long way back to the station.

“So...quiet huh?” Twilight asked.

“Oh it's just petty crimes here and there but otherwise it's rather peaceful,” Cadance said. “Now, shall we head home?”

Evening

The apartment that Shining and Cadance were staying at was actually nicer than Twilight expected. It was no condo but it was comfortable enough. She took the spare bedroom and unpacked her things. The rest of the day turned out to be uneventful but during dinner the three of them talked a lot and watched TV afterwards until Twilight decided to turn in early to get enough sleep for tomorrow.
