The Weathered Loopsby WeatheredFieldChaptersSet 1Set 2Set 3Set 11.0 Weathered was bored. He had been recording Universes for three years now, and he was getting a little tired of it. So he decided to try something new. Looking across the Multiverse, he tried to find anything that didn't have the same Imprint as a Universe. After an hour or so, ho mind hit a bump in reality- a small orb of energy that didn't read like his Multiverse did. This was what he was looking for. He walked through the usual steps for Hopping: imagine, or find a door, imagine that it connects to the target location, and open it. He felt the familiarwhoosh as he Hopped. All in one moment, he entered to the foreign energy source, into Limbo, and Drew a barrier around himself. This allowed him to exist in Limbo without being ripped to an infinite amount of pieces. He Checked the world for an Imprint. New. This was not his Limbo, if it was Limbo at all. He could be in space for all he knew. “Well, Weathered. Either you found a new Universe with a fancy door, or you hopped out of the Multiverse. Either way, it's different. That's what we wanted.” He tried doing something he hadn't done in years; creating a Universe. He willed and wished, pushing on the darkness until it gave- then he fell. He appeared in the sky several miles above The Field, or at least the new Field. He righted himself mid-air, staring at the ground rushing to him before Drawing his unicorn self from Earth-3a, teleporting to the ground. Everything was still the same compared to the original Field, except for the center. The Key-gates were gone, of course, this was a fresh Field. After a moment of taking the scenery in, he got to work. He set up a blank Key-gate, and searched the Multiverse for anything with a similar Imprint to his Multiverses Universes. First one he found had an echo of similarity to Earth-3a, so he decided to pay a visit to his Equus friends. The Key-gate hummed to life, creating a dark void inside its arch as a passage to a Universe was made. 1.1-My Little Pony Weathered walked through a doorway, which rapidly closed itself. Looking around, he recognized the cottages of Ponyville. Good, maybe he can talk to the Twilight here, get to know her. Weathered didn’t know what time it was in the Multiverse: he hadn’t made the clock yet. First step to figuring that out was to find the date locally, he could do the math later. Walking through the town, he noticed that Twilight’s castle wasn’t there, and the Golden Oak Library was still intact. That meant it was somewhere before the second half of C.E. 24, before Tirek rose to power again. That was a stressful few days. He walked up to the door and knocked. It swung open, and Weathered was greeted by a familiar purple… unicorn. That means it's either C.E. 22 or 23. “Hey Twilight! Its me! Weathered Field! I was stopping by in Ponyville when I learned that you lived here! I just had to say hi!” While it wasn’t the whole story, it was truthful, and if this Twilight didn’t remember him, it would sound like a normal story. He just had to play the ‘I went to magic kindergarten with you’ card. Twilight blinked. She had no idea who this pony was, so she quickly racked her loop memories, only to find that this was close to the baseline loop, a couple days after Princess Luna returned. She looked for any others, only to find that she was the only one Awake. “Uh… hello? I’m sorry if this sounds a little rude, but I don’t think I’ve met you before. How do you know me?” The unicorn- Weathered- blinked as he fabricated his story. “Aww, c’mon! We were in magic kindergarten together! Remember? It was you, Lyra Heartstrings, Moondancer, Lemon Hearts, Minuette, and a few others? Lemon Hearts got her head stuck in that beaker, and ran around the room?” He faked a smile, and hoped that the stories that Twilight had shared with him would seal his story. “Uh huh. We were definitely in the same class then, I don’t think I’ll forget that day easily. I’m sorry to say, though, that I still don’t remember you.” She smiled apologetically while Weathered quickly read her Imprint. She was Displaced, she had been in contact with other worlds, but she didn’t recognize him. Maybe someone else had connected the Multiverse here? That would make Weathered’s life easier, for sure. “Ok. Well, I just wanted to say hi regardless. But before I go, have you ever thought about the theory of other Universes? I’ve been fascinated by the idea recently, and I figured that if alternate timelines existed, why not other Universes.” Twilight looked at Weathered, mouth slightly agape. Was this person a Looper from another Universe? Most normal ponies wouldn’t act this way, and Twilight hadn’t ever seen this one before, not even in that Loop where she made friends with every living thing in Equestria. But he wasn’t showing up as a Looper... “Actually, yeah, I have. Uhm… This might sound a little strange, but have you studied the theory of Time Loops? Y’know, the theory that the Universe, after reaching a certain point in time, resets itself? It's rather fascinating.” Weathered furrowed his brow for a moment, before returning to a smile. “No, I haven’t! Maybe we could share notes on the theories? I have a copy right…” A copy of ‘A Guide to the Multiverse’ booklet popped into existence with a gold flare of Weathered’s horn. “Here. The basics of what I have studied over the years.” Twilight pulled a similar book out of her mane, or rather her Subspace Pocket. It read on the cover ‘So You’re Time Looping’. They passed the books to each other, gave it a quick read, and paused, slowly looking at each other. Weathered was the first to speak. “So you’re time looping, eh? You do that around here?” Twilight opened and closed her mouth, considering her words. “Yeah, and you are… jumping Universes? How does that work? Do you just travel through the baseline Loops?” Twilight inquired. “No, I think I Hopped into an entirely different Multiverse. Where I’m from, we have been friends for three years, you created your own Pocket Universe called The Library, and you were helping me catalog the Multiverse. Here, instead of Hopping being the main form of Universal travel, it's the Fusion and Crossover Loops, if I understand correctly?” Weathered raised his brow and looked up from the Loopers Guide, slightly grinning. Twilight took that information in and filed it away for later use. “Yeah, I think. So, uh, what was The Library like? I mean, I trust myself to have made it how I imagine it to be, but still…” Twilight waited in excited anticipation. “The Library was the largest collection of knowledge in the Multiverse. You had it set up so that every time something was discovered, it was sent there, sorted by confidentiality, and put on display, like a big public library. Except for the confidential things. Knowing the one word that could break a nation could lead to a God Complex, and those are massive headaches to deal with.” Twilight sighed, imagining the amount of planning and sorting it must have taken to construct that Universe. She snapped herself back to the present. “Well, I don't know if you will remember anything in this Loop, but while you are here, wanna go through the loop?” Weathered blinked, then shrugged. “Yeah, sure why not. I need a change of pace.” 1.2-My Little Pony Twilight woke up in the Canterlot Library. That was an odd Loop she just had. Maybe that Weathered fellow was just part of the Loop? Oh well, he wasn’t here now. She did the ritual memory search, looking for anything odd. Oh- okay, she could work with that. Apparently Pinkie Pie and Discord had swapped places this timeline. Pinkie was still, of course, stuck in stone in the gardens, and had been since Celestia and Luna had sealed her 1000 years ago. This will be strange, but nothing too strange. Simple character swaps like this were nothing too troublesome. Weathered walked through a door, which then shut itself. He looked around, and concluded that he needed to find Twilight, as well as figure out what year it is. Twilight heard a knock at the door, so she answered it. It was Weathered Field. “Uh… hello? How may I help you?” “Hey Twilight! Its me! Weathered Field! I was stopping by in Ponyville when I learned that you lived here! I just had to say hi!” Twilight blinked, then she remembered this happening last Loop. It had been an slow ordeal, and she would rather avoid it this time. “Yeah, I know. You came from an alternate Multiverse where I made a Pocket Universe called The Library. Also, I constantly Loop through time, read this.” She passed him the Loopers Guide and walked past him casually. Weathered stood there, rather dumbfounded. “This might be interesting” Twilight thought, thinking of the Loops to come with the Universal Traveler. Set 22.1-My Little Pony Weathered blinked. He had just walked through the Key-gate to Equestria again. Last thing he remembered… Twilight and the Mane 6 had just returned to Ponyville after reforming the Changeling Empire. Then it clicked. Weathered reached into The Field, and pulled out a copy of ‘So You’re Time Looping’, and re-read it. So he was Awake then? Huh. Well, time to find Twilight anyways. Twilight heard a knock at her door. Many Loops had passed since she had heard that knock, but she knew what it meant. She opened the door, and to her surprise, saw a copy of the Loopers guide that she wrote being held by Weathered. “Hey Twilight. I think you know what this means.” Twilight sighed. While she was willing to help a new Looper out, this was going to be an odd case. “Yeah, I do. Come in, we have some things to talk about.” 2.2-My Little Pony (Star Wars) Twilight Sparkle, or Twilight Windu in this Loop, was preparing the raid on the chamber of Emperor Lulatine, who was Awake.. Usually when this happened, it led to her getting thrown out the window, shielded by a simple spell. She was surprised, though, to find that when they entered the room, it was filled with smoke that billowed out of the room. Trixie Lulatine stumbled out, coughing. “Sorry I- *cough* I tried to use the for- *cough* force to light a firework out the window, but that *cough didn’t work. Turns out fireworks explode when electrocuted. Can we try this again in an hour or so, when it's less smoky?” Twilight fell over laughing, and Trixie did the same, to the confusion of the other jedi in the room. “Uh, Master Windu, should we attack? Or…” Twilight stood up, tears in her eyes, and composed herself. Then she teleported the three other jedi to the lower levels of Coruscant and looked at Trixie, who was chuckling, wiping tears from her eyes. Weathered was galloping down the Coruscant hallway. He was Weathakin Fieldwalker, a Jedi Knight. He was on his way to Emperor Lulatine’s chamber to stop Twilight Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin from attacking Lulatine. His running halted, though, when three humanoids appeared in front of him in a flash of purple light. This stunned Weathered for a moment, because he rather expected ponies, not a mix of the two. Then Weathered blinked, Awake. Checking his Loop memories, he was surprised to find who he was. Twilight felt a ping in the world as Weathered Awoke. This could be interesting. A gold flash erupted in the smoke, as Weathered fell to the ground. “Oh hey Twilight. I just woke up, what going on? Oh hey Trixie! I think this is our first shared loop!” Trixie blinked, then looked up at Twilight. “Wait, who is this? I think I would remember you from outside this loop, I thought you were just some random pony being Anakin.” Weathered got up, walked out of the smoky room, and held out his hoof. “Hello! I’m Weathered Field, and I travel Multiverses. I started Looping a while back, I’ve been through about 13 Loops Awake now. I met you back on my Equus, and a few Loops ago. Nice to meet the Looping you, though!” Trixie hoof bumped him, still confused. “Ok, I can see that you are a little confused. Read this book, and I will answer any questions you have.” Trixie read through it quickly, then looked up at Weathered. “So you… met me already? I mean, that a standard thing for Loopers, but you met a different me? In another Multiverse?” Weathered nodded, smiling. “Welcome to the Kosmos, Trixie. What's next Twilight? Should we try to get the Loop back on track, or just mess around?” Twilight looked up from a book, a reread of course, to find that they were both waiting for her answer. “Oh! Uh, I will leave it up to you, Weathered. I am really curious how this will all turn out. You would make an interesting Darth Vader.” Weathered contemplated things for a moment, then shrugged. “Oh why not.” He grinned evilly. “I have a few ideas in mind.” Twilight knew this was going to be good. Coruscant was on fire. Weathered had tried to stack multiple Incendio spells the same way you would stack unicorn magic. He wanted to see how dense of a spell he could make, then he would send it into empty space. However, when Weathered went to move the spell, it exploded. He teleported away, protected by his black suit of armor, which had taken most of the blast. Trixie teleported to him, having sensed the explosion. “What did you do? I felt that all the way from my office.” Trixie looked over the wide radius of destruction that Weathered had caused. “What did you do!?” Chuckling nervously, Weathered asked “Have you had a Crossover Loop with the Harry Potter Universe yet?” Trixie shook her head. “Well, there's a spell there called Incendio, so I tried to stack it like a unicorn spell. Turns out, they aren't meant to do that.” Weathered nodded, looking over the burning wreckage of the skyscrapers. 2.3-My Little Pony Huh. Weathered was not himself. He felt… empty. Scanning his Loop memories, he realized why. For the first time in 2 years, the four Field siblings were separated. He was Mossy Field, with his three siblings Sunny, Frosty, and Cloudy. They were the Elements of Harmony, along with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Mossy was the Element of Magic, Sunny was Laughter, Frosty was Honesty, Cloudy was Generosity, and Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were their normal elements. He tried teleporting, but was disappointed to find that he was an Earth pony. “Well, if nothing, this is a chance to see what I- we- the Field siblings would look like as ponies.” Mossy was stepping out of bed when he heard a knock at the door of the Golden Oak Library. Opening the door, he was bewildered to see Twilight standing there. “Hey Mossy! Its me! Twilight Sparkle! I was stopping by in Ponyville when I learned that you lived here! I just had to say hi.” She said, smiling. Deja vu, am I right? Mossy groaned, and clutched his temples. This was already giving him a headache. Twilight pondered the situation, bewildered. “So you mean to tell me that we swapped places in this… Time Loop?” Mossy nodded, thinking about how this worked. “Yeah, in this Loop you travel the Multiverse, after being Displaced from your home Universe by an experiment gone wrong. After three years of study, you decided to head to this Multiverse, where you will start Looping. At least, that what would happen if this wasn’t a Loop. After this whole thing, we will swap back.” Mossy and Twilight both stood there, heads hurting. This meant that somehow, somewhere in the Kosmos, there was a Multiverse called the Twiliverse where Mossy’s role and Twilight's role was swapped. This is a punishment Loop for last time, isn’t it? 2.4-My Little Pony (Harry Potter) Weathered was hitting his head on the wall, trying to forget that last Loop. if he thought about anything there, it gave him a huge headache. He felt a small thump as someone Awoke. Time to go greet the newcomer. Teleporting to the town square, he was surprised to find a brown Unicorn with a lightning bolt Cutie Mark that looked similar to… Searching his memories, he realized that he was still Weathered Field, but he and this pony, Harry Potter, were students at Dumbledore's School for Gifted Wizards. Oh well. At the least, it was a chance to meet Harry for the second time, so that's alright. Well shoot. Canterlot was on fire. Seamus Finnigan had tried to stack Incendio spells, which are not meant to be stacked. At least it wasn’t Weathered’s fault this time. No punishment Loop for him. 2.5- The Field Weathered stood there, Awake. As far as he could tell, this was a baseline Loop, or at least it was as close to baseline as he was going to get. He put a tally down on his notepad, which he stored in The Field. 54 Loops. He had a plan to put a little bit of his own flavor in this Multiverse, but it would take some time. Hopping to the Original Field, Weathered was relieved to find that the Fieldiverse was still accessible. He hadn’t tried this since he had entered the Loopverse, so he wasn’t sure if it would work. He was also relieved to find that no time had passed in the Fieldiverse since he left, which meant the two Multiverses had their own time system. He looked around the Field, hoping to find a certain blue someone. Catching a glimpse of a blue cloud, he called Cobalt over. He landed in front of Weathered, composing himself. The hue looked him over, then frowned. “Weathered, there's something up with your Imprint. Its showing multiple Universes twice. Just thought I would let you know, anyways what did you need?” Weathered scratched his head. “It would be better if I showed you, then explained.” He opened up a door to the Loopverse Field, and let Cobalt go through before he followed. Cobalt stood there, confused. He was in the Field, again. Had Weathered Hopped wrong? Weathered walked through, past Cobalt. “Alright, over here. I’ve set up a Key-gate so it's easy to Hop to.” Cobalt looked around, surprised to find that the Field was empty, except for a single Key-gate in the center. “Weathered, where is everybody, where are the gates? What’s going on?” Weathered looked back, hand on the gate, smiling. “This isn't your Field. Go on, Check the Imprint.” Cobalt sent out a pulse and gasped. It was a completely new Imprint. Even the one little patch that signaled the connection between the Multiverse was gone, replaced by a new one. “I- but- that means that this is a new- a- oh boy.” Cobalt fell backwards, hit full force by the realization. Weathered just stared as his apprentice fell over, stunned by the revelation. “Thats right! Welcome to Multiverse Numero Dos. It works a bit differently than our Multiverse, which you should now refer to by the Fieldiverse. This one, the Loopverse, has various Universes, or Loops- y’know what, just read this book. It’l explain most everything.” A small booklet landed on Cobalts face. Set 33.1- The Field (2.5 cont.) Cobalt Blue was thoroughly confused. He used to think that Spectrum was the whole world, only to be discovered by an entire continent 50 times the size of Spectrum. Then after that, Weathered came and introduced him to the Fieldiverse, which was so many more times massive than his home. Now this? An entire other set of Universes? Of Loops? Not only that, but these repeated themselves in wildly different ways, so they would never get stale. Weathered Field was worried. He might have broken his apprentice. Cobalt had read the book, then sat on the grass for what was now 15 minutes. He whistled at Cobalt to get his attention, then spoke. “Cobalt, I know, it's a big world. But you haven't even seen it yet, save your surprise for later. Lets just head through the gate, and then you can take things in.” Cobalt nodded, and stood up. “Alright. Let's go see this new world.” He swallowed, and walked into the Key-gate’s abyss. 3.2- My Little Pony (3.1 cont.) Cobalt was once again confused. They had returned to Equestria, only to find 6 Alicorns fighting a massive dragon. Looking at Weathered, Cobalt was relieved to find that he was just as bewildered. The dragon, red and yellow in color, was flying above the town, spewing fire onto the houses below. “What the buck? Last time I was here, it was a Baseline Loop? What on Equus made the dragon attack!?” Weathered looked around at the burning town incredulously. “Ok, uh, hold on. I’m going to go talk to Twilight, see if I can get some info on whatever is happening.” Weathered’s golden magic enveloped him as he floated up the Mane 6. “Hey Twilight, I was just wondering if… uh… can you tell me why the dragon attacked this time? I thought that Fluttershy usually tames it?” Twilight stopped shooting lasers at the dragon long enough to give an answer back. “Fluttershy had a bad loop, bucked the dragon” Then she was off again. Weathered figured she was enjoying the fight: she could easily have taken the thing on alone in her sleep. Weathered nodded, and floated back down to Cobalt. “The dragon got kicked, didn’t enjoy it too much.” Cobalt blinked, looked around, putting together his words. “But- somepony has to have died in this fire! Shouldn’t we be doing something?” Weathered laughed, then stopped and sighed. “Yeah, that's the thing in this Multiverse. If someone dies, they just show up next Loop. Unless they are just visiting, then you will show up in their next Loop. Point is, we could save these ponies, but the world will also do it eventually. That being said, never turn your back on a cry for help. Wanna go save some ponies?” Weathered looked over at Cobalt, smiling. They both nodded, and Drew their favorite source of power around them. Weathered became a pureblood wizard, brandishing a Pine wand with a Unicorn Tail core. To his side, Cobalt became his original self: a deep blue hue. Weathered brandished his wand, and cast a silent Aguamenti spell at the nearest flaming house, causing a stream of water to flow from his wand tip, slowing the blaze. Cobalt took this chance to do his part. Turning into a cloud of blue mist, he rushed into the house, filling it. After finding the pony, he consolidated himself, dragging the pony out of the house. They continued to work in this manner, dousing houses and saving ponies. Twilight looked down and saw the damage the dragon was causing, and decided to end this. She called to the other six to finish the dragon off, and they all nodded. A moment later, the dragon was sitting in his original home, which was now sealed off by a large pile of rocks. It took an hour or so to find the rest of the ponies and houses that were in peril from the dragon. After the work was done, the wizard and hue erased their Drawing, becoming ponies once again. “Wow. I mean, you talked about Drawing in your guide, but you haven’t ever done it. I’m guessing that was Harry Potter and…” Twilight paused, thinking. “Actually, I have no idea what you were. Maybe a Gem?” Cobalt chuckled. “No, that wasn’t a Gem. My name is Cobalt Blue, I’m a hue from the islands of Spectrum. That was me, the real me at least.”Twilight was confused. In all her life, she had never met any hues, or seen any place named Spec... Weathered... “Weathered what did you do. I’m guessing Cobalt is a friend of yours from your Multiverse, from a Universe we don’t have here.” Twilight looked around, as though expecting the Admins to jump out of a bush and send them to a Punishment Loop. Weathered chuckled nervously. “I may have created a Pocket Universe, and I may have brought someone from the Fieldiverse to the Loopverse. Does that mean I get another Loop where we swap places?” Twilight facehoofed while Cobalt raised his hoof on the sideline. “Uh, a few questions, please. Did Weathered do something wrong, how do you not have Earth-1 here, and what do you mean by swap places?” Twilight groaned. “Weathered might have done something wrong, I’m not positive though, This Multiverse is different from yours in more ways than just Time Loops, and Weathered got a Loop where he and I swapped places. I came from the Twiliverse, and Weathered was Ponyville's resident librarian.” Cobalt thought about it for too long, and got lost in the various ideas it presented. Cobalt knew that this was going to be an interesting experience. 3.3-The Field Weathered had a serious problem. The Field was on fire. He had tried - and failed - to stack Incendio spells again. He really wanted to make fireworks using a single spell. He had no idea why that appealed to him, but it did. Maybe he could host a party that way someday? Right now, Cobalt was enjoying a Loop in Equestria as a fencing coach, for whatever reason. Weathered had found that once he introduced Cobalt into the Loopverse, he had begun Looping. He didn’t always show up, but when he did, he was a fencing coach. Cobalt hadn’t had a Loop while he was awake yet, but Weathered hoped it would be soon. Weathered decided to think about it later: The Field was a maelstrom of raging fire. This will take some time to fix, which is no problem at all. 3.4-My Little Pony (Lord of the Rings) Somepony had bucked things up. While Twilight had experienced Fusion Loops plenty of times, this was just ridiculous. Weathered was Sauron this Loop, gazing across Equestria from an eye of blue fire that rose from the Badlands, looking for the One Ring. Lots of things were out of place, like somepony had tried to convince themselves that Equestria was indeed Middle-Earth. Canterlot was Minas Tirith, Ponyville and nearby areas made up Rohan, and Appleloosa was… Isengard? How odd. Something was wrong, so Twilight decided to do the best thing possible: Send the Ringbearer off to the Badlands so that he can destroy Weathered and end this Loop. Actually, she had a better idea. Cobalt jumped as Twilight appeared in his study. He was looking over the story his uncle was writing before she popped in. “T-Twilight? It's good to see you, but what bids you to come here so late, and unannounced?” He spoke in an accent vaguely similar to that of Middle-Earth, but still slightly Equestrian. “Have you seen your uncle? I need something that he has.” Twilight stared at Cobalt, making him sweat. “Uh, yeah. He’s down at the town square, setting up the decorations for his birthday party.” Before Cobalt had finished the sentence Twilight had teleported to the square, looking for Cobalt’s uncle. Spotting him, she teleported close to him, pulled the ring from his pocket, and teleported to Mt. Field. Weathered screamed in agony as his ring- his soul was burned in the fires of Mt. Field. Then he exploded. 3.5-My Little Pony Ponyville screamed as Nightmare Moon appeared, giving her usual speech about the night lasting forever. She was interrupted, though, by a cloud of dark blue smoke floating up to her. Then the room flashed blue as Cobalt’s blade ripped through Nightmare Moon, dispelling the curse that had been placed on Princess Luna. “Huh.” Weathered and Twilight watched the whole ordeal. “I knew he was precise with that blade, but still- that's just ridiculous. He just cut through magic with a sword. I guess that time in Skyrim really did teach him a lot about enchantment.” Light flooded through the window as the Sun, with Celestia in tow, returned.
Set 11.0 Weathered was bored. He had been recording Universes for three years now, and he was getting a little tired of it. So he decided to try something new.
