Prolouge: the accident

It was a cold drizzy night. A 4-8-2 locomotive was waiting for orders while coupled to some loaded log cars. The driver and firepony just brought her with a load of emtpy cars and then turned around to couple to the loaded ones. They where just coming back. the driver was a stalion earthpony with a black coat, a brown mane and tail he was wearing a blue and white drivers cap that said Southern Logging on the front and the santa fe logo for his cutiemark. The firepony was a younger stalion that was also an earthpony with a orange coat and a skarlet red mane and tail, and had a firebox with a shovel throwing coal in. He was wearing a red bandana and was covered in greese. "Looks like it's startin' to rain, Traintime." Said the firepony. "It shur' is, Highball." Said the Traintime. "The manager told us there is a storm coming in" " well we better get a move on now" highball stated. The two climbed into the cab and set off down the moutain.

The little drizzel trurned into hevy rain. Traintime keeping speed trying not to let the train fly off the curve. "What are you going to do fur' nightmare night?" Asked Highball. "Oh ah don't know yet. Maby see the misses, take the kids out trick or treatin'. What about you?" Traintime said. "Don't really know yet. Maby, go out on a date with a little someone." Highball answered with a smile.

C"She said yes?"

"Yep!"

"Well congrats"

"Thank you"

A loud crash was heard. It was the sound of thunder echoing around the valley. Up ahead the bridge was sraining from the flooding water. 311 was heading down grade to fast. Traintime started to pull the airbreaks but the 311 could not slow down due to the weight of the train. Traintime quickly turned on the sanders but it was too late 311aproached the bridge to fast. The bridge colapsed and 133, Traintime, Highball, and the rest of the train plumeted to the creek below. With his last few minutes of life, Highball said to himself, "Sorry Lily, I'm not going to make it to dinner."
