Prologue: The Familiar Pain Of Betrayal

Act 1: Celestia Speaks With The Gon

The rain continued to fall hard, eventually, the guards made it to where the source of the distortion came from. What they saw brought them to great shock. A large bipedal beast that stood over even the largest guard in the army, even larger than the sun princess herself. The battalion of soldiers called out to the creature.

“Enough of this! Drop your weapon and surround now! We will not let you go on like this and risk hurting our citizens!”

Kenji stopped destroying what he could reach. He slowly turns around to see the large group of armored..beings. Clearly they weren’t here to be friendly.And with the way he was right now,making threats against him wasn’t to smart.

“I won’t say it again, drop your weapon, beast!”

Kenji’s eyes widen, then glare a narrow eyes glare as he charges forth to the unfortunate souls who have come across him. He swings his weapon about in the direction. His sheer size frightening a few of them so that they could not move from their spot. The force of the scythe coming down so hard that it splits two guards right down the middle, their bodies slowly pulling apart with a sickened splat as it hit the ground.

“Kill..destroy...massacre…”

The captain of the group was stunned at what had just happened, the brute killed two of his men with one single swing of his weapon. He would be lying if he said that he wasn’t frightened by this man. But, he regains his composure.

“Get the chains around his body, and when you do, use a knockout spell on him! The Princess demands that he comes back alive!”

“S-sir!”

The fight went on for a little while longer, they lose two more soldiers in the progress, one falling victim to the man’s large hands having crushed his skull, the other had a much quickly death by having his head completely severed from his body in one full swing from the large scythe. Eventually, they got enough chains around him to bind his body. And it was A LOT of chains. Before he could break from, the captain leans in with his horn and cast a strong sleeping spell on Kenji. His struggling slowed,his mind and vision now heavy, the dark chi slowly returning back into his body. Once he was subdue, the captain looks around at all the remaining soldiers. A ten pony squad...reduced to half by one being.

“Get this monster to the castle and in the cells...I want guard posted there twenty-four seven. Move out…”

“Yes sir…”

The rest of the squad lifted the man up with magic and teleported him away. The captain looked around at all the carnage once more and shuddered.

“Such hatred and sadness coming from that being...I saw it radiating from his body. If this is what he can do in a blind rage, I can only imagine what he is capable of with a sound mind. Rest in peace my fellow guards...had I known this would have turned into such a bloodbath…”

--Canterlot Castle Prison Cells, Early Morning--

The cell that Kenji in was quiet, he had already been awake an hour after they had brought him in. his rage had already cooled down and dropped back to it’s low point. But knowing what he had done that very last night. Well,you can imagine that he wasn’t exactly feeling proud of himself. He had already broken out of his chains when he woke up, but stayed in the cell so as to not cause anymore trouble, he was sure he was already in enough.

I killed innocence that had nothing to do with my rage...

This thought came over and over in his mind, he sat against the wall with his head down and hands folded in his lap. He heard the large metal door open from the other side of the room. He didn’t lift his head, but only remained silent as four guards and a tall, white alicorn with a flowing mane and tail that was quite a spectrum of colors. So these were equine beings with human like properties. He was definitely sent away to another world through the dragon pulse. He wasn’t even aware that was possible. Celestia approaches the cell, a stern look on her face as she eyes Kenji.

“So tell me. What possessed you to start destroying my lands and kill some of my soldiers?”

Kenji said nothing, not even lifting his head to make eye contact with the princess. He simply kept his head lowered and eyes closed

“I demand that you speak to me, now. Your crime isn’t one I can just overlook. You took four lives this last evening, and they were only fighting to protect the land they live in..”

Kenji still remained silent, but slowly lifted his head, opening his light blue eyes. What Celestia saw in them was great regret mixed with sadness. That is all he could really tell her without speaking. She blinks as she sees this, then lets out an annoyed sigh.

“Fine, I will return tomorrow to see if you wish to talk again. Guards, you will not have to worry about him leaving.”

“But princess, he is responsible for-!”

“I know what he did. But look in his cell and tell me that he couldn’t have already made it out should he have wanted to.”

She said as she points to the chains scattered about his cell, and the fact that he had none of them around him. The guard’s eyes widen, he gulps a bit, but nod to her. Celestia and her guards walk out of the room, the door closing behind them leaving Kenji in darkness once more.

“Princess...what will you do with him?”

“I don’t know but one thing is strange. The energy I was getting from him last night, it is gone. Or it has at least hidden itself away within his body. I know that this may sound strange, but he may not have killed those stallion simply because he wanted to. I think..something very very traumatic happened to him. When I looked into his eyes. I saw absolute sadness, I have seen that look before. He was betrayed by someone of whom he cared for greatly. Dark energy feeds on that kind of thing. Keep an eye on him. But please, do not be rough with him. He is in a fragile state of mind and heart right now. We do not want to risk him getting upset and causing anymore damage than he already has.”

And so, day by day, the princess of the sun came to the gon’s cell every morning. Still never receiving a word from the giant of a man. This went on and on for nearly a week and a half.until finally, he began speaking to her. On that day, she walks in but on her own, late in the afternoon. She walks up to his cell, her gaze now fixed on him alone.

“Why do you not speak with me? I understand the feelings that are spinning within you. But you need to answer for your crimes.”

Kenji lifts his head up slowly,meeting her gaze.

“How could you even possibly fathom the feelings that are swirling inside of me? Judging by your appearance, you are royalty. Your kind doesn’t know what it means to truly lose those that are precious to you. Even more so when they stab a dagger in your back for a fucking bag of gold pieces. If you are going to execute me for the lives of your soldiers, be done with it. I won’t put up a fight.”

Kenji didn’t know it, but he had touched on a very sore subject for Celestia, she glares at him, squeezing her hands around his cell door and picks up her voice at him.

“You know nothing of what I have been through! Its has been nearly a thousand years I have been without my sister because of her crimes! Just because I am royalty doesn’t mean that I haven’t experienced heartache and betrayal! So don’t you ever tell me that I don’t understand what you are feeling!”

This was indeed a very sore subject for the princess, as she was speaking to him, tears began to flow from her eyes, her mind drifting back to that very nice she had to banish her sister to the moon and imprison her for a thousand years. Kenji catches this and sees the look of genuine sadness on her face.

“Look,I don’t know anything about you. And if you plan on disposing of me, I wish to keep it that way.”

“...Do you think that simply asking for death and recieving it is going to make this all better…?”

“Why not? That’s how it works back where I am from. You kill royal guards, the rulers aren’t exactly pleased with you and kill you on the spot.”

“So that it? You just want to throw your life away?”

“It’s not about throwing my life away. It’s about a life for a life. If they were evil and hurt innocent people,I would have no remorse for what I had done. But like the guards tell me everyday to remind me of what I had done, they were good soldiers simply trying to defend their home.”

Celestia lowers her head and squeezes the bars more.

“That’s not good enough…”

“Hm?”

“I aid that is not good enough, that may have been the rules were you are from. But here, we do not simply end someone’s life because of something they couldn’t control. I know what dwells inside of you. And what it did last night isn’t your fault.”

“It kind of is. I was aware of what I was doing, but I couldn’t control it. I am sure many of your kind have made this same claim. So why believe a complete stranger when they tell you the same thing?”

She thinks on it for a second. He was right. Many of her subjects have made the same claim. She lowers her head for a second, then smiles and lifts it back up. Because I know somepony who can reveal what lies in your heart. My guards see you as a bloodthirsty monster. And I won't lie to you. You frighten me a bit with your large size and grim disposition. But when I get this pony down here, we will all know what your heart truly holds.”

“You think it is that simple huh? You must have some pretty strong magic to look into someone’s heart.”

Celestia give a light chuckle.

She is currently up in her room. I will send a guard to go and get her. When she returns, she and I will come back in here.”

“Take your time, not like I am going anywhere anyways.”

As Celestia walks out, she turns to him with a smirk.

“Oh please...with your brute strength, you could easily destroy these cell bars and be on your merry way. The fact that you haven’t done so makes me have even more faith in you.”

The door closes, darkness once more. Thirty minutes roll by. Kenji’s mind was flooding with questions. Who is this mare she is speaking of? And what kind of power does she possess to look into someone’s heart? The door opens again, Kenji lifts his head to see Celestia coming in, and the shadow of someone else hiding behind her.

“Cadence please, don’t be afraid.he isn’t going to hurt you. I promise.”

“Aunty Tia...he looks so scarey though…”

Kenji lowers his head. She was right, he does looks scarey and he knows it. All male gons have a certain amount of intimidation to them, Kenji was no exception, with his large physique, and those piercing blue eyes. It is no wonder the the young mare was so afraid.

“Don’t worry, you have my word I will not hurt you. But your princess here believes that you are the one who can see what my heart holds?”

She comes out fully from behind Celestia, she was a pink mare with wings and a horn, just like Celestia, though she looked younger. Her mane and tail was multi-colored, but not flowing like the sun princess’s. And her eyes were a beautiful light purple.

“Well...I am the princess of love after all mister. I can indeed do that.”

She said as she slowly approaches the cell door, looking him over, her eyes meeting his. The one thing she noticed right away was behind his natural glare, were the eyes of someone who dealt with something awful. Seeing this, she gained more determination to find out what laid within. Her horn starts to glow, and suddenly a beam of magic flows to to Kenji, he closes his eyes as he feels ehr trying to reach him. Should he even let her try to see? He had the mental fortitude to block her. Fearing at what may happen if she looks too deep, but it was already too late. She had seen what had happened and how it happened. She backs away from the cell, tear welling up in her eyes as she locks eyes with him again, understanding why they seemed so..empty.

“Aunty Tia…”

She said before she fell to her knees on the ground and started sobbing quietly. This is what he was afraid of. Such a young female can’t hide painful memories like a full grown gon male can. He had estimated that Cadence was still only seventeen years old. Celestia quickly goes to Cadence’s side and wraps an arm around her.

“What did you see my dear…?”

She continues to sob quietly, nuzzling into Celestia.

“He...he has been through so much.in these last few years. He has so many emotional scars hidden away under a wall of a raging fire. But I can tell that fire was extinguished quite recently. I caught a glimpse of what had happened. His heart is broken. He is a kind and gentle soul, but the events that took place caused this...scarey energy inside of him to go out of control. Aunty...please open the cell door.”

Celestia blinks in surprise at her request, she looked up at Kenji,who was still staring at them both with that same glare.

“I won’t run, and i won’t hurt her. You have my word.”

Celestia looks between Cadence and Kenji. She had her doubts, but agreed to her request. She unlocks the door with her magic,allowing Cadence entry into what could potentially be a dangerous area. Cadence gets off her knees and walks into the cell. Even when he was sitting down, he was still pretty tall, almost to eye level with Cadence.When she finally stands in front of him between his legs. She opens her arms and reaches out to him, getting in closer and wrapping her arms around his neck. This surprised Kenji, making him tense up and raise his arms a bit.

“You are a strong warrior mister, but even warriors need to let go of their emotion sometimes. You don’t need to hold them back now. Please, let go and let the pain flow away. You were hurt by someone you cared for. But that has passed and now you aren’t even in that world anymore. The scars will remain, but they will heal over time. Please, let it all go.”

Kenji felt something get caught in his throat and his eyes water up. He was trying his best to fight back and beat it down just like any other battle. But the warmth of this mare, her words, her voice. It made fighting that much harder. She squeezed her embrace around him tighter, leaning against him as she does. That was the final nail in the coffin. The prideful gon, who hides his emotions so very well, was now starting to quietly sob like a child. He wraps his arms slowly around Cadence, firm but gentle in a hug. Cadence nuzzles into him as he finally lets go, giving him much needed affection after what he had been through. Princess Celestia could only smile at what she was witnessing. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, the Princess of Love indeed.

Author's Note

I know I said i would give a description of his abilities in this chapter, but things went another way. I will be reveal them next chapter. But at least we now have the story starting in full swing now. Something tells me this will be quite a a long one as well.

Act 2: Starting Over But, Not Alone

Weeks have gone by after Kenji’s imprisonment.. The guards have wondered why anyone like him would even stay here even though he could destroy his cell within a minute and be on his way, a free man. But Kenji has been put in prison before. It was simply a matter of waiting. No, he didn’t break out. It was a matter of patience.And Kenji had the patience of a dragon. His stay in the Canterlot Cells wasn’t so bad though. Everyday around the same time, Cadence would come by and visit him. She would just open his cell and wander in, sitting next to him as if she was an old friend. She tells him of her day. What she had to do, and that she didn’t like doing it. No matter what she had to say, he just sat there and smiled to her.Never interrupting or forcing her to stop.And when she came in upset and stressed out, Kenji would always find the right words to help her out and make her feel better. Finally, it was the day of his judgment.Celestia had finally decided on what to do with him for the crime he had committed. He sits in his cell, reflecting on his past, as all killers who expect to be executed do. The door opens up and four guards look into his cell.

“The Princess has decided what to do with you. Guards, chain him up.”

“Those won’t be necessary I assure you. I know what I have done and will receive my retribution for my act. You have my word.”

The guards look between each other.

“You think he can be trusted?”

“Well, considering that Princess Mi Amore Cadenza is quite fond of this prisoner, and she leaves with a smile each time she comes and visits, he can’t be all bad.”

“If it makes you guys feel any better, you can keep you weapons on me at all times. Do we have a deal?”

The stallions think it over, then they all nod.

“Deal.”

He stands up from his usual spot in the cell, waiting for the door to unlock and makes his way out when it does. The guards has forgot how large he was, they gulp a bit but remain calm. They walk out of the prison with him in the middle,all four directions blocked by them. As they walk him through the grounds, all kinds of nobles and staff look at him in horror, whispering nasty rumors about Kenji.

“I hear he devoured all the guards that we sent after him in one gulp.”

“I heard that he is actually a monster under his current form. The way he looks now is frightening enough.”

The guards could hear every rumor coming from the nobles, the two at his side look up at him, seeing that he is as calm as when they left.

“I am quite surprised these rumors do not bother you.”

“Well, that’s all they are. Just rumors. I do not find equine flesh to be tasty...not that I have and will ever try it. And while I do look like a monster to you, I could very well say the same about you all. Just because I am different shouldn’t make me a monster. Otherwise if i was in the same mindset as them, I would call all of you monsters. I know what I did when I came here can’t even be taken back. And it still haunts me. But whatever your ruler decides,I am sure I can attone from ehr decision. Even if that is death.”

The stallions could only be impressed with his sense of honor, never have they ever had a prisoner who was so willing to pay for his crimes and be so calm about it.

“Prisoner, what is your name?”

Kenji Akabane, proud member of the Gon race.”

“Kenji Akabane, a good strong name for someone like you. Tell me what you did before you came here.”

“Well, I was a simple mercenary. Before that though, I was a pupil at a dojo. I trained in the martial arts of the Hongmoon techniques. I was trained in both hand to hand martial arts and the art of the great axe. Those I built my own weapon and made something more of a scythe. I Am able to glide without wings, run up walls with ease, even run on water. And I can create temporary dragon pulses that allow me to leap and jump long distances from one object to another,and move quickly while doing so. All this combine with my natural strength as a Gon,well, I was a pretty effective warrior. My only weaknesses is good food, nap times pretty women and..well...promises of friendship, especially if they are false.”

“But..wouldn’t friendship be a strength instead of a weakness?”

“Well,I say it is a weakness simply because that is how I ended up here. Someone who i thought to have been my friend for three years straight...betrayed me for a bag of gold pieces.My people have a common weakness, we are loyal to those who become friends to us. We can usually sense when their friendship is simply a means to an end because of our intimidation and strength. But the one I met all those years ago seemed like she was genuine. But she hid her deception well it seemed. Behind that was only a want for wealth. And when you betray a gon, we don’t take such things lightly.”

The guards listen him speak as they walk through the castle courtyard and corridors. Now knowing what the Gon has been through, the sympathise with the man and look up to him.

“You really have had quite a rough time of it haven’t you? I don’t blame you for losing control the way you did.”

“Even though you don’t blame me,I still need to take responsibility. The loss of innocent life should not go unpunished.”

“Even so, now that we know your story. You have our support in this. You are a good pony, Kenji, despite what you have done.”

“Thank you for saying so. Though we will see if that truly matters in a moment. Won’t we?”

He asked as they walked into the throne room through the large golden door that two other guards opened. As he walks along the red carpet, he notices that other ponies were watching his every move.

“Must be a public execution then huh?”

He said trying to make this situation lighter before his death or, so he expected. Once his stands in front of the princess, who was sitting in her throne, he lowers himself onto his knees and sits on his heels,placing his hands on his thighs. Celestia leans forward a bit and speaks.

“State your name, prisoner.”

“Kenji Akabane.”

“Kenji Akabane, you stand accused of ending the lives of not only four innocent ponies, but also knowing that they were part of the royal army of Equestria. How do you plea?”

“Guilty.”

He said calmly and collectively, his eyes locking onto hers.

“Normally, execution is the proper charge for this act.”

“If that is what you see fit to do, by all means do so.”

“However…”

“However?”

“Given your circumstances, I believe that execution is not the proper way for you to attone for your sin. I shall grant you freedom.”

“That...seems hardly fair-”

“BUT, in return…”

She brings his large and heavy weapon from beside her throne and tosses it before his knees, the heavy metal echoing throughout the large room as it slides in front of him.

“...you will now serve under me and take orders directly from me and only me. You will atone for your crime of taking life by protecting another’s life. Kenji Akabane, as the ruler of Equestria.I hereby order you to take up your weapon once more as a warrior, and protect and guard Princess Mi Amore Cadenza with your very life. These are my terms, and they are non-negotiable.”

Kenji was in complete shock. Not only was she letting him go free, but she was employing him AND putting the life of a future ruler in HIS hands?! He honestly had no words to this outcome.

“Well? Do we have a deal, Kenji Akabane?”

He looks to her and his weapon that laid at his knees.

“You really think I could be trusted?’

“I do. Now do you accept my terms?”

Kenji looks down at his weapon, wrapping his hands around it and lifting it off the ground. He stands up onto his feet and looks down along it before he looks back to Celestia. He Twirls his weapon about and places his fist to his chest.

“I accept, Princess. I will protect her with every fiber of my being if that is what I must do to atone for my sin.”

“Very well, then Kenji Akabane, I clear you of all charges. Do not make me regret this decision and lose my faith in you. Day Court is now hereby adjourned.”

There we whispers and gasps all around, some sounded surprised, some sounded VERY worried.

Kenji on the other hand was still in a bit of a shock. Despite what he had done, the ruler of Equestria gave him an alternative to death. Not that he wasn’t grateful at all, but it wasn’t what he was expecting.

“Princess Mi Amore Cadenza is waiting for you out in the gardens Kenji Akabane. I suggest you don’t keep your charge waiting.”

She said with a small smile

“Of course Princess, right away.”

He said as he turned around and made his way to the destination he was sent to. On his way, he ran into the guard that had escorted him, they had big smiles on their faces.

“Honestly, I could think of no better outcome Kenji. You are too much of an excellent and honorable warrior to just kill off. I know that without a doubt, you will be an excellent protector to the Princess of Love. And possibly even a more excellent friend.”

“How do you mean? Doesn’t she have a lot of friends here?”

“She has the young mare she used to babysit, her name is Twilight Sparkle, but they only ever get to see each other ever so often. But you at her side everyday, she won’t be alone anymore. Not to mention,when she came to visit you in the cell. She would come in so upset...but when she came out, she was always smiling. I think this will be good for her. We ask that you make sure she is well taken care of.”

“You can count on me boys. I got this down pat.”

“Very well, she is just out this door here and to the right.”

“Thanks guys...and thank you for believing in me.”

“Hey, we warriors have to stick together.”

He nods and walks passed them, making his way out into the garden that he was told to go to. He comes around the corner of a hedge wall, seeing her standing in front of a railing and facing out towards the city. He approaches her and lowers himself to a knee, placing his hand on his chest.

“Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. I, Kenji Akabane have been charged with protecting you with my very life. I will happily do so and make sure that no harm comes to you.”

The alicorn turned to him with a warm smile,what happens next shocks kenji once more. She runs over to him and leaps on to his large frame, wrapping her arms around him in a hug and nuzzled against him.

“I know that. Aunty Tia told me about her plan with you...and i couldn’t be more happier with this. Kenji...you listened to me babble on and on and complain about my life over the last month and a half, and always cheered me up with your kind words. To have you here with me now and at my side as my protector, it makes me even more glad. And please, you can call me Cadence.”

“Very well, Cadence. Then feel free to keep calling me Kenji, should you so wish.”

“I do. And even though you are now charged with protecting me. It doesn’t mean I don’t see you as a friend. In fact, I feel our bond of friendship will now grow even more.”

That word…’friendship’.he tenses up and looks away from her. She knew that he would act this way. She immediately brings his gaze back to ehrs.

“Kenji...look at me.”

He hesitantly does so.

“This will not end like it did with your last companion I will never EVER betray you and stab you in the back. I give you my word, as a princess and as your new friend. Please have faith in me,and I will prove to you that I am worthy of your loyalty

“You really do promise…?”

“I do.”

They both hug each other closely. All the while Princess Celestia watches from her balcony. A smile of approval on her face.

“This will be good for her, and he will be good not only for her, but for himself as well. He is in a new world, so a new start is needed. Good Luck, Kenji Akabane. I look forward to seeing how your path here will go.”

And tadaaaa! Kenji now has a new purpose in this new world. and a new friendship that will sure grow into something more over the years with Cadence There will be rough times ahead, but will not out way the happy and fun times.

Act 3: The Mark Of The Black Rose Appears Again Part 1

Two months have passed since Kenji has become Cadence’s guardian. And what a two months it has been. While she was in her room studying one day, Kenji was standing outside her room and heard her scream. Thinking she was in trouble, he nearly broke the door down to get in and looked around. Turns out, a crow had flown in through her window and was flying about the room in confusion. He sighed and shook his head, catching the crow in mid-flight and squeezed it into his hands. Cadence didn’t like dark birds, but she looked so upset at him when she thought he had killed the poor thing, only to sigh in relief as he opens his hands out the window it flew into and the bird flew away unharmed. Another time, a noble was giving her unwanted attention. Kenji watched over her as always, not making a move until it was necessary. He always waited until she called him over or unless she looked like she was in dire need of him to step in and made sure that others knew the rules. Kenji was already proficient at this sort of thing. Being a mercenary for hire, you did more than just use your weapon. You used your mind and sometimes, you even used your playful side. One experience was when a noblewoman had to leave for the day and she hired him because of a recommendation from her friend. The child was scared stiff of Kenji. But as the day passed, he and the child were playing in the backyard with a balls that belonged to the little one. They both laughed and played until the mother came home, surprised to see...a gon, male no less drawing with the child in the sand and smiling such a warm and genuine smile. Kenji was known as the ‘Destroyer In Black’ But to a few children, a few families and elders,he was known as a great friend

This day, was like any other day. He was posted at her door, sitting on the ground and meditating. He did this to keep his dark chi at bay by..well..absorbing nature chi. It had a purifying effect as long as he did it regularly. And he had plenty of time to do it when the young mare was doing her schoolwork and leader training. But on this day, something bad will happen that he thought would never come to pass again.

“Kenji, you can come in now! Me and my mentor are finished for the day!”

Shouted Cadence as the teacher walked out the door as it opened.

“Now remember my dear, make sure you look over those notes over the weekend.”

Said the mare as she walked out with her books floating above her. She noticed Kenji glowing slowly as he meditates, but opens his eyes as he hears her call him in. This makes the older mare look at him with a curious gaze.

“Kenji, is it?”

“Yes ma’am.” he said as he stands to his feet and grabs his weapon that was leaning on the wall

“What is it you were doing just now, deary?”

“Oh,I was just meditating. I gather nature chi in order to keep...well I probably shouldn’t really bother you with the boring details.”

“It’s alright, I don’t mind it at all-”

“Kenjiiii, come oooon!”

Cadence says as she runs up beside him and pulls at his large hand with both of hers, he looks back to the mare who was chuckling to herself.

“I...better not keep her waiting.”

“Take good care of my pupil for me Kenji. She is precious tome.”

“That is my job ma’am.”

He and Cadence disappeared behind her door. She runs to her bed and plops down on it and stares up at Kenji with a big smile. Kenji only arches a brow and tilts his head as he leans against the wall.

“Seems like you are in a rather particularly happy mood today, Cadence…”

Kenji said as he watched her bounce up and down.

“Mhm, I sure am! Remember the foal that I used to babysit? Twilight Sparkle?”

Kenji nods.

Well,i get to see her again today after she is done with her lesson, and i finally get to introduce you to her! Celestia always has you doing something else whenever I meet up with her, but today you are all mine! And I want you to meet the pony I consider my little sister! I told her all about you. Boy won’t she be surprised when she meet you.”

She giggled lightly

“She thinks that you are a pony that sounds all dreamy and from her little romance novels. Twilight and her books, Silly little mare.”

Kenji chuckles and nods

“They others are still getting used to seeing a huge hulking gon walking around. I am surprised she hasn’t seen me yet. Then again, you told me she spends most of her time in the castle library when she isn’t studying.”

Cadence nods and sighs.

“If it wasn’t for me and her brother. I swear that the poor girl would never have any social interaction with other ponies beside Aunty Tia. Anyways, she should be heading to the library right now. How about we go ahead and head over there?”

Kenji nods and stands up from he leaning on the wall

“As you wish, Cadence.”

She didn’t like it when he said ‘As you wish’. It made her think that he did not want to really go with her. But she knew that wasn’t the truth. He has even admitted he enjoys her company when they have free time, but he never really...loosens up around her. Could lit be that he feels he is more obligated to being her charge first and friend second? Or maybe even he feels like being a guardian doesn’t really make him feel on the same ground with her, considering she is royalty? She could never really read Kenji, even though they were friends, he always seemed...so serious. The only time he has ever really shown a different side of himself to her was when she comforted him in the cell he was kept in that day. Other than that, he is like a closed book locked with over fifty magic seals. But no matter, she was is mare of determination. She will break through those seals one day!

“Alright,let me change into something a bit more casual, these royal clothes are always...so uncomfortable.”

Kenji’s eyes widen and feels that is his cue to quickly make an exit out of the room, but is stopped by her.

“Kenji, where are you going?!”

“Well I can’t just stay in here and watch you undress!”

“...Why not?”

She asks with a tilt of her head. His mouth agape and his eyes widen at her question.

“Uuuh...what do you mean ‘why not’?! Cadence, out of all the mares in Equestria, how are you comfortable with me, a male noless seeing you completely nude?!”

She was wondering why he was making such a big deal out of it, but told him anyways.

“Because I trust you, Kenji. Simple as that. I know that you won’t do anything that would compromise my innocence. Sure, you might stare, but that is natural for a male isn’t it? To stare at a developing mare who will one day become a full adult and he will know that he got to see her beauty blossom?”

“Okay...now I KNOW you are just messing with me. Fine, I will stay in the room, but I'm not going to peek...as much as I want to.”

He said as he plops down on the floor and crosses his legs, going into meditation again so that his mind was fixated on gathering energy. Cadence could only giggle at his reaction.She was a little disappointed that he wouldn’t look, but at the same time admired his discipline. She began to change into her casual attire, luckily Kenji couldn’t hear the fabric of her clothes fall to the floor so he couldn’t be tempted while gathering chi..After awhile, she had finally gotten dressed and leans forward in front of him, lightly proking his cheek to get his attention.

“Iam ready to go now, mister serious and stoic.”

“Hey, until things change otherwise, I wouldn’t feel right ogling you while you were in nothing.”

“Ppph so you ogle me when I am not naked?Good to know.”

Kenji only buries his face into his hands and stands up, he walks over to the door and waits for her to follow. She only giggles again and walks out, he closes the door after she leaves. As they walk through the courtyard of the courtyard, Cadence looks up at Kenji every now and then. He still must have been a bit embarrassed by the teasing she gave him earlier.

“Um..Kenji? Do you find any of the mares here pretty at all?”

“Well, with all of your different colors and such, you all do look rather pretty I suppose.”

“NoIi mean...do you find of them...attractive?”

“For the last time Cadence, I am not gonna hook up with Princess celestia. What would she want to do with me anyways? I am not a pony.”

“Well, I just had a funny thought.Wouldn’t it be funny...that one day when I'm older, you turned out to be the stallion that I marry?”

Kenji stopped frozen in his tracks, then all the sudden bursts out in laughter at her idea, nearly falling on the ground as he does.

“Me, marry YOU?! Oh man that’s a good one. A lowly mercenary with uppity royalty, that is just too too funny! I am sure there is someone out there more qualified to your kind of status Cadence.And look at me, why would anyone here want to marry someone like me? I am still considered a monster remember?”

“I don’t see you as a monster! Maybe a little stuffy and too serious maybe, but not a monster!”

She said as she pouted adorably and folded her arms under her very generous C cup bust. He finally recovers from his laughter and catches his breath.

“Come on Cadence, be realistic.Who in their right mind would want to be seen being romantically involved with me?”

“Well i think-.”

“Get away from my big sister you monster!!!”

Shouted a lavender mare with a purple mane and tail with a hot pink stripe running down the middle. The young mare running up to Kenji and pounding her fists on the side of his leg. He looks down at her, then to Cadence.”

“Uuum, you know this one Cadence?”

“Twilight stop! He isn’t a monster!”

“Not a monster?! Look at him Cadence, he is huge, scarey and has eyes that could give a cocatrise a run for it’s money for turning other to stone!”

Kenji looks to Cadence again and holds his hand out.

“See?”

“Twilight, this is Kenji! He is my guardian!”

She said as she purple the unicorn away from him, the filly still trying to take swings at him.

“I am sorry for her behaviour Kenji...didn’t think she would react like this.”

“This is Kenji?! He isn’t even a pony!”

“You are right, I am not a pony. I am a gon. And proud of it little missy.”

“Little?! Why you…!”

“Ah, I see that you have already met my most faithful student.”

Kenji and the others turn to see Celestia walking over to them, smiling warmly.

“Aunty Tia!”

“Princess!”

“Afternoon Princess.”

They all greeted in their own way. She walks up to the group and looks between Twilight and Kenji, who was still trying to swing at him.

“Looks like she doesn’t really like me all that much.”

“You bet I don’t bub! How could YOU be the guardian of my big sister?!”

“Twilight Sparkle,you will address this gon with respect. He has been protecting Cadence, and has been doing a fine job of it. Don’t be so hard on him.”

“I respect him for what he does. That doesn’t mean i gotta like him!”

Kenji just shakes his head and laughs.

“Fair enough little Sparkle.”

“Stop calling me little!”

“Well,to be honest Twilight, you, Cadence and I. We are all little compared to him.”

Celestia said as she looks upto him as if saying ‘I got your back bud.’. He nods and shrugs.

“Looks like you got outvoted there.”

Cadence couldn’t help but giggle at both Celestia and Kenji double teaming the poor little filly.

“Ah I almost forgot why I came out here. Cadence, Twilight, I have free time this evening and i would be happy if you both could join me for dinner.it has been awhile since i have sat down with good company.”

“As always aunty!”

“I would be honored Princess Celestia!”

She then looks up at Kenji.

“Will you be joining us as well Kenji?”

“Well, I really don’t think it is my place to dine with royalty… but I will still be there to-”

Suddenly out of nowhere, that familiar pain builds up and starts to rack through his body, he grabs at his chest and falls to his knees, beginning to breathe heavily and roughly. That familiar dark chi radiating from his body and that dark purple ethereal rose slowly rises from his back.

“KENJI!”

Cadence shouts in horror as she sees this, running over to his side, as does Celestia. They noticed Kenji’s eyes moving around, as if looking for someone who may be causing this.

“Kenji, what is going on?!”

Celestia yelled as she looks around for what he was looking for.

She...isn’t here. So why is this happening now?!

He thought to himself, trying to rise to his feet, but failing miserably.

“The dark chi that is in my body...it has ahold of me physically and it’s going to...keep doing this…”

He coughs up a bit of blood onto the the white pathway. Twilight only watched in horror at what was going on until Celestia called her.

“Twilight, get the medical ponies out here, now!”

“Of course princess, right away!”

She said as she ran off to get help.This time, he starts vomiting blood.

“No medical treatment is going to fix this...only light chi will stop the grip that is tearing me apart from the inside. If we don’t find it soon. I will be dead within the next couple of hours…”

He said before he starts coughing roughly, the two alicorns trying their best to support the large man. His vision starts fading in and out. His eyes getting very heavy.

“Getting...sleepy…”

Cadence was getting even more worried after he had said that.

“K-Kenji,stay awake, please! We will get you help!”

She doesn’t get a response, his body suddenly goes limp as he becomes dead weight.he falls out of their grip and hits the ground hard.

“Kenji...Kenji wake up,please!!!”

She said as she kneels beside him, trying to shake him awake

Act 4: The Mark Of The Black Rose Appears Again Part 2

--Castle Medical Wing, 5PM, 1 Hour Remaining--

Time was running out for the gon. If he isn’t free of the grip of this dark magic, he will surely die were he laid. They brought him into Celestia’s medical room, as her bed was the only one that could accommodate his large frame, just barely. His skin was paler than it usually was, almost milk white. Both Cadence and Celestia were getting more and more worried by the minute.

“Aunty...he keeps on muttering that we need to find this..’chi’ or whatever it is! But we don’t know what in all of Tartarus chi is! If this take him away from us..I..I…”

“Cadence, calm down. We will find a way to fix this before the hour is up. I will not allow such a dark and foul energy to take away this gon. I Will not allow death to be his ticket away from his duties. Not only that…”

She walks over to Cadence, who was kneeling at the side of the bed with a hand on his arm.

“...I know you care a great deal about him.”

Cadence goes quiet for a moment, then looks up at Celestia with tears in her eyes.

“You’re right, I do! I know that other don’t approve of our friendship! They talk about him like he is an abomination and a heartless being. Me and you both know what happened that night wasn’t his fault! So why can’t others look passed his appearance?!”

Celestia was taken back by the sudden rise in her voice. Cadence looks back to Kenji and squeezes his arm gently.

“He has been a wonderful guardian...and an even better friend to me. Other than you and Twilight...he is all I got that keeps me from being lonely throughout the day. To have this..thing slowly and painfully kill him as he lies here...it’s too cruel!”

“Hey...what can you do right?”

Kenji asked in a tired and pained tone as he slowly opens his eyes. Both Celestia and Cadence gasp as he awakens and speaks.

“Kenji...we haven’t found anything yet. But I promise we will!”

“Cadence...if you can’t find anything in time to save me. Then that’s what I deserve. I know I am not a perfect person. But I have killed more than just those four.And I was totally aware of what I had done and in control. That is the life of a mercenary sometimes and this is karma paying me back I believe. I know when i die, I won’t be going anywhere good, that is for sure.”

“We aren’t going to let you die, Kenji! Stop talking like that!”

“Soon,it will not matter, Cadence. If you cannot find a way to stop this, or at least suppress it until it comes back again,then I will be arriving at Death’s doorstep in less than thirty minutes.”

He turns his head over to Celestia. He couldn’t move anymore other than that.

“Princess, to ensure Cadence’s and everyone’s safety. If I do die, destroy my body immediately. Someone who is under the grip of the black rose will turn into something far more awful than what I could every be. And please, don’t let Cadence watch me struggle in my last few minutes. She is far too young to witness death and I don’t want that image in her mind as she gets older.”

Celestia understood what he was asking. She didn't know what kind of dark energy was swelling inside of him, but she knew that it was extremely bad and it had a magic of it’s very own.

“Should there be no other way to save you Kenji. I will grant your request…”

“Thanks-.”

He begins coughing hard, blood coming from his mouth again, the usual crimson liquid now a disgusting black. The last five minutes come, their top researchers have yet to find something, anything, to stop this dark chi from killing Kenji.

“Princess Celestia…”

She knew what he was about to ask. A look of sadness on her face as she walks over and begins to pull Cadence away from him. Cadence began to squeeze around his arm tighter to hold onto him.

“Cadence...let him go…”

“No…”

“Cadence-.”

“NO!!!”

She screamed, wrapping both of her arms around his arm now, squeezing her eyes shut tight as fresh tears pour from them. The dark chi flaring up out of his body at an alarming rate now.

“Cadence...do as she says. It’s over.”

“No it’s not! I won’t let this filthy magic take you! You have a job to do and you can’t just up and leave me!”

A strong wind begins to swirl around the room as Cadence’s horn begins to glow bright, making Celestia back away in slight shock.

“You are my friend, Kenji! ANd I will not allow my friend to die a horrible death while I can still do SOMETHING about it!”

She opens her eyes wide, tears still flowing from them, but a bright white glow comes from them. Suddenly, Kenji’s body starts to thrash from side to side and up and down. A dark growl comes from his mouth as his eyes glow a crimson red. The dark chi rising from his body even more fiercely

“What are you doing you welp?! He is already far too gone for you to do anything about it! His body belongs to me! Stop!”

“NO, he isn’t yours! He is mine! Whatever you are, leave him alone! Get out of his body and return to the darkness from which you were born and never return to Kenji again!”

The dark chi from his body start to flash from dark purple to a golden yellow back and forth,as if trying to fight for dominance of his body.

“Even if you get rid of me,he will still be corrupted by the dark chi! His soul will be damned for all eternity, blacker than the blackest night! Dark chi will always be apart of this gon!”

“That may be true, but at least he will be rid of you and will be able to live his life to the fullest without you trying to kill him!”

The struggle lasted for what felt like forever, until Kenji’s body jerks up hard and a large black, dark purple and red phantom rises from his body, trapped within Cadence’s magic.

“Aunty...destroy this monster…”

Celestia glares at the phantom, her horn sparking with anger for what it has caused Cadence.

“With pleasure…”

She said in an angered tone, shooting a beam of pure light at the phantom. The screams of agony comes from the creature as it swells up and explodes into rays of light. Obliterating it entirely Cadence’s horn and eyes slowly go back to normal, she looks down at Kenji who still wasn’t moving. Was she too late…?

“Kenji..Kenji wake up please...it is gone now…”

He lays there motionless for a few minutes. Thinking the worst, Cadence begins to sob into his arm,her ears lowered.

“Come on Cadence...tears don’t suit a princess, let alone you.You are the princess of love after all, you are supposed tomake others smile…”

Her ears perked up as she heard that voice. She looked over at Kenji’s face quickly, his eyes were open,and he was speaking to her. The deep dark abyss that her heart had fallen into just now, flew forth and back into the rises of the sun and sky.

“KENJI!!!”

She shrieked in absolute happiness as she leaps onto his body and hugs her arms around him the best as she could. Tears of happiness now replacing those of sorrow.

“Gah...easy Cadence...I am still a bit sore from that thing. But whatever you did...it pushed it out and allowed the other chi I stored up to heal the internal wounds…”

“I am just glad you are here Kenji...I don’t know what I did either.but, I am glad it happened..”

She said as she nuzzled into his chest. He just smiles lightly and brings a large hand up to her head and pets her gently.

“Alright alright, come on Cadence, this isn’t professional. Others will see this and think we are...something else. That wouldn’t be good for you or me.”

“I don’t care...let them think what they want. I am not leaving your side until you are out of this room.”

Celestia could only watch with her signature smile of approval. Whether they were both aware or not, something more than friendship was sure to occur in the future. Not soon, but definitely will happen. She quietly steps out of the room, closing the door behind her quietly and leans against it, closing her eyes and leaning her head up.

“Thank you, mother. For aiding her to save someone she truly cares for.”

Act 5: We Are Going WHERE Now?!

A few weeks have passed since Cadence saved Kenji from the brink of death. After which, the pair grew all the more closer as friends. Cadence even convinced Twilight that he truly was a good person. Even though she still keeps an eye on him from time to time. Little sister instinct, you know? Today was like any other day. Kenji was either waiting outside of Cadence’s room, or Celestia had him on guard duty, even though he wasn’t one of the royal guards. He was intimidating enough though. But today, he was just walking around the castle, just taking in all the scenery. He had been here three months now and has never got to look around as he was always Cadence’s side. Not that he was complaining about that one bit. Even the stuff have come accustomed to his presence,and even smile and wave to him as they pass by, he in turn does the same. He had nearly been through the whole castle when something caught his attention. A tower that was closed and the door was a dark blue with a crescent moon on it. This intrigued Kenji very much.

“Hmmmm. Something that Princess Celestia hasn’t told me yet I am sure…”

He slowly reaches up to try and push open the door, only to have Celestia herself clear her throat behind him. Yep he was caught. He slowly turns around with a nervous smile.

“Curiosity isn’t a sin, Kenji. But if you aren’t careful, it may cause you trouble.”

“Sorry princess. It’s just I have nearly explored all the castle since Cadence hasn’t had need of me at all today. And I saw this door. I apologize.”

He said with a deep bow. Only to have Celestia giggle at him.

“I was just teasing you Kenji, no need to be nervous. But I do ask you that you remain out of this part of the castle for now, please>”

Clearly she really didn’t want him there. He nods to her again.

“Alright, you have my word, I shall not enter here until you say it is alright to do so.”

“Thank you Kenji, I really do appreciate that you are such an honorable..gon. Not many possess such a trait. But enough about that, I was coming to look for you anyways.”

She said in her usual calm, motherly tone. She walks up to him and gently places a hand on his shoulder...having to actually reach up.

“I have come to ask you to accompany Cadence to the royal tropical resort. It is time for her summer break and even though it will be secured by my top guards, please keep her safe should something go wrong.”

“Ah, so are we going to some kind of fancy inn where royalty stay at?”

“Oh no Kenji. You and her will be going to the Sun Island. It is a place just for alicorns and their guests.Or in this cause, Cadence in her guest... alone.”

Was she...was she trying to play matchmaker?! She was wasn’t she?! Kenji began to cough all the sudden, acting as if he had a cold.

“Oh noooo….looks like I'm coming down with something. Damn...looks like I can’t go after all!”

He said as he coughed a few more times to make it look real.,but she comes back with a logical counterattack.

“All the more reason you need to go, Kenji! You have been working so hard it is taking havoc on your health. And I can’t have you suffering from such a thing. I order you as the Sun Princess to accompany her and get some rest!”

She said with a knowing smirk. Damnit, she got him good. He sighed and simply shook his head.

“Very well Princess, as you wish.”

“Good, now go and get ready, you two leave in an hour after all.”

She said before swinging around and walking away with her hands behind her back, giggling quietly like a little schoolfilly. Kenji simply sighed again and walked back the way he came, heading towards Cadence’s room. He begins counting down in his mind.

“Three...two...one…”

The door swings open and Cadence leaps out at him, but this time he was ready. He catches her in one of his arms and gently squeezes, grinning wickedly.

“I heard you run to the door silly mare.”

“No fair, you cheated!”

She said as she struggled and swatted at him playfully.

“Nooo, you just have hooves and those are kind of noisy.”

He retorted. Setting her down carefully and looks down at her.

“I trust that you are almost ready then?”

“I am! This is gonna be soooo much fun! I wanted Twilight to come to...but she didn’t want to.”

“Tell her I am coming along, I am sure that will change her mind. She would probably think I will try and make a move on you or something.”

“Maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad thing…”

She mumbles to herself as she turns away, walking into her room.

“Hm? I couldn’t hear you Cadence.”

She giggled lightly.

“Oh it’s nothing Kenji, just talking to myself is all. Come on in, I need help deciding on a bathing suit for the beach!”

Kenji could run for it, but she would catch him regardless. He is a big man, but alicorn magic can lift him off the ground. The he has seen her struggle with him before. Not because of his weight, but because of the dark chi that ate away at her magic slowly. Even though the fiend that was inside of him is dead and gone, the dark power still hurt him, and it devoured pure magic like hers and Celestia’s. He sighs and sees no point. He walks into her room and closes the door behind him after ducking through the doorway. They need bigger thresholds here!

“So what do you think Kenji? Should I go with the black bikini? Or do you think the royal blue one is better on me?”

When he saw just what kind of bikinis they were, his jaw nearly hit the floor they weren’t so much as skimpy, they cover the vital area good enough it’s just...wow. If Cadence was wearing one of them now, she would be pushing the envelope. Especially with her...assets. They were made of the finest silk and shimmered in the light beautiful. Kenji gulped an audible gulp.

“W-well...you really want my honest opinion?”

“Mhmm, don’t hold back now!”

“I...think the blue one will look best on you. I will show off the beauty of your light fur in contrast with the blue silk and...blue looks good on you.”

He said as he turned away, a blush coming across his cheek slowly, he quickly lifts his face mask up to hide it. Cadence was blushing even more, she hadn’t expected him to be so...honest about how she would look.

“O-Oh….then I will take this one…”

She said as she quickly turned and packed it in her bag along with her other things. The room went quiet after that. Kenji was thinking of other things besides seeing her in that swimsuit. And Cadence was trying to fight off the blush that came with his compliment about her beauty. And just on cue, Celestia walks in and breaks the silence.

“Come on you two love birds, the train isn’t going to be waiting forever!”

“A-Aunty! We aren’t love birds! We are just friends!”

“Yeah, what she said!”

“Oooh if you two say sooooo.”

She said as she giggled, walking down the hallway. About a few moments later, they were ready to depart. Cadence was about to lift her bag onto her shoulder, but Kenji stopped her and lifted the strap with two fingers and tossed the bag over his shoulder like it was nothing.

“I got this Cadence, you did pack a lot so i can’t be having you hurt yourself, silly mare.”

“I can handle myself, Kenji!”

“I didn’t say you couldn’t I am also doing this because I want to.”

“Ooh...thank you…”

He nods as they walk out of the room. They make it to the train station with eyes mainly glued on Kenji. They have seen Cadence many times, but if he wasn’t there, she would definitely be getting the attention rather than him. A line of guards waited at the station to block off any fanatics that would try and stop them. The guards look up to Kenji with a smile.

“Take good care of her for us bud.”

“You know I always do.”

Once they were onboard, the train begins to set off on their destination..well as far as it would take them anyways, they would have to ride a boat to get to the island itself. The train ride lasted for about two hours. Cadence and Kenji just simply talked for the time being. Things about what they had been doing when not around each other. Things like that. But, Cadence wanted to get to know him on a deeper level. But once she asks him about his life back in his world, the book suddenly slams shut, so to speak. But maybe,since they will have some alone time together, maybe she could get him to open up just a tiny bit. They finally got off the train and onto the boat that would take them to the island. Kenji spent most of the time on the boat ride just...staring out into the water. He looked like he was in deep thought the whole time. This made Cadence curious...and a little concerned.

The voices in his mind were those of the people he had killed in the past. Many,many people. And the dark chi was fueling their hatred. Wanting him to lose those he has come to love, by his own hands.

No...this is a new life for me here...I will not go down that road again! She is my friend and I will protect her!

Kenji looked like he was struggling with a bad headache, his face dripping with a bit of sweat and the dark chi starts to fume from his body just a bit. Cadence noticed this and was quick to act.

“Kenji, snap out of it!”

She said as she wrapped her arms around his waist hoping this would bring him back. His eyes suddenly open quickly, he lets out a small gasp in the process.

“S-sorry Cadence... bad memories just came up, that’s all.”

Cadence could tell he was lying. Bad memories don’t do that, at least not on their own. Whatever dark energy is engraved into his soul, it was still reeking havoc. But only ever so often. Cadence nuzzles into his side as she still hugs him.

“Kenji...I am very very worried about you. That thing I took out of you is gone. But why do you still have to fight this corruption?”

“Please don’t make me speak about this Cadence...please…”

He sounded so scared and worried when he said that. She simply nodded, but didn’t let go of him.

“Fine...then tell me when you are ready to tell me. I can wait.”

“Thank you...for understanding Cadence.”

He said as he reaches down and lightly wraps an arm around her in a gentle hug. Now wasn’t the time to dwell on the past. Now was the time to see her smile and have a good time. And he was not going to ruin that for her.

Act 6: Beach Time & Unexpected Fear

The ship finally docked , letting it’s only two passengers off before heading back to the mainland. As Kenji and Cadence walked onto the beach, Kenji couldn’t help but smile at what he was looking at. The beach was so beautiful. White sand, clear water and palm trees perfect for falling asleep under, and on top of the island was a beautiful landscape, fresh green grass, paved sidewalks, and the building that resembled a small castle. It was an absolutely beautiful place. If Kenji hadn’t been holding Cadence’s stuff, he would already be on the beach, or exploring the whole island

“It’s...so beautiful here. Just like the beaches from where I came from. I can’t wait to start exploring...gonna run up that mountain and get a good view whenever we drop off our stuff…”

Cadence looks up at the mountain, her eyes widen as she sees just how large it is.

“That’s gonna take you forever! I wanted to check out the beach first!”

What she REALLY wanted to do, was show off in her swimsuit for him, but he seemed so determined to climb up at mountain by the look on his face, she sighs and pouts a bit.

“Oh don’t worry Cadence, by the time you get ready for the beach, I will already be back here in my swim shorts, napping under a tree.”

He finally felt like he could be himself around her, since it was just him and her. The guards around the island didn’t pay much attention anyways. Though the staff did meet them, and took their bags to their rooms.

Kenji was sprinting in full force, the wind he left behind in his trail pulled up some of the grass as he did this. He had a big smile on his face. he hasn't ran like this in a very long time. Always so cramped up in that castle, hardly ever to free roam like he did back home. He continues rushing through the open field until he gets at the foot of the mountain, he looks up with a determined grin and scans the cliff side. Seeing a perfect path that he can wall climb and leap to and from on. He stretches and gets himself ready, loosening his muscles and joints.

“Alright….here we go…”

He lets out a mighty roar as he leaps onto the first rock that was jutting out of the mountain side, scaling the face until he leaps across it on another large rock, doing this over and over with a big toothy grin on his face. This continued until he reached the very tiptop of the mountain. He stand there and takes in a few breaths after having moved so quickly.He finally walks over to the edge and looks around. The view was absolutely amazing, the wind was blowing, bellowing out his clothing and making his hair flow. And it felt so nice up there. After a good ten minutes of admiring the view, he takes good few steps back and begins running to the edge, letting out a grunt as he kicks off from the edge. He then brings his legs and arms close to his body and pushes them out, beginning to glide down from the mountain with ease. Almost like he was flying. He soared through the air,the wind continuing to brush against him, He glided so far enough the he even reached the beach where they had docked. He chuckles lightly as he reaches into his bag of holding and pulls out his swim shorts, hiding under the dock and getting changed quickly, he emerges ready for beach time! He finds himself the perfect tree to lay under, he sits down under it and lays back with his hands behind his head

“This..is nice. Away from all the staring eyes of the guards and the staff from the castle. Just some peace and quiet time.”

Little did he know, all the female guards, and some male guards that passed by on their patrols saw him napping under the tree, they couldn’t help but gasp and blush at his VERY muscular physique. They definitely liked what they saw. Soon enough though, Cadence was on her way to the beach, and she saw him now sleeping quietly under the tree, she shook her head.

“He is fast, I will give him that…”

She said before she giggled lightly, swaying her hips as she walked over to him. When she got closer, she had the same look on her face as the guards admiring him, but ten times more.

“O-Oh...my...Celestia…”

She wanted to lean down and trace every single muscle he had with her index figure. Never has she seen a male with such a well kept form like he had. He slowly opened his eyes to see Cadence leaning over him with wide eyes. He lifts his brow in confusion.

“What?”

“Kenji,I knew you were a large being….but your physique is incredible…”

He laughs and sits up.

“All part of being a gon, Cadence. We are naturally strong people who make sure we look at fit and are as strong as we can get. Just part of life for us.”

He looked over to her, what he saw was...absolutely adorable and sexy at the same time. She had on the royal blue swimsuit he had recommended.Not only that, but she looked absolutely lovely in it. it complimented her nearly adult form and suited her perfectly. he looked at her up and down repeatedly, he then looks rubbing the back of his neck.

“You...look really, really pretty in that Cadence…”

He said after clearing his throat nervously. She was surprised. Both at thinking that he wouldn’t have the guts to say it so directly, and the fact that he actually did call her pretty instead of saying ‘You look nice.’ as he always does. She hadn’t counted on that.

“Oh...thank you very much for saying so, Kenji. You really do like it?”

“Mhmm...you are turning into a fine mare, that is for sure.”

She blushes even harder, lidding her eyes and looking away with a small smile.

“About time you noticed…”

She mumbled to herself.

“Hm? What was that?”

He asked with a slight head tilt.

“Oh nothing at all, just talking to myself.Anyways, you have napped long enough mister! Time to hit the water!”

She exclaimed as she grabs one of his hands with both of her and tugs on him. He chuckles and gets up, letting her lead him along into the crisp cool water. They played together for hours all up until a very...happy accident, well, in Kenji’s case, was a happy accident. He was laying on the water, staring up at the sky until he heard her call out to him.

Kenji, help!!!”

Cadence squealed..rather adorably in fact, but he was quick to action, seeing her standing low in the water. He wades through quickly to get to ehr.

“Cadence?! What’s wrong?! Are you hurt?!”

“N-n-no...I..I lost my top!”

He blinks, facepalming as he hears this. He was just happy she was alright.

“Alright,I will dive down and take a look for it. Don’t. Move.”

Before he could turn to dive, she came up behind him and pressed herself against him to hide from whatever prying eyes were on land, feeling those soft mounds of flesh that were her breasts against his bare back, he began freaking out a bit.

“W-w-w-what are you doing?!”

“Please don’t leave me here by myself Kenji...if anyone saw me like this it would be embarrassing!”

“Come on Cadence, I can’t very well look for your top like this! And you pressing against me like that isn’t making it any easier! They are nice and all but..well…”

If it’s one thing about Kenji, he didn’t hide what he liked in a woman. He had made it known to Cadence that he finds her absolutely attractive, but has never acted on it.

“Oh hush you! Now hurry up and help me find it!”

He growled and moved carefully through the water, looking around through the clear water to see if he could find her top. Though each time he moved, he felt her breasts rubbing against his back. He was doing his best to remain calm and collected through this ordeal. He wasn’t going to lie to himself, they were nice and soft. But this wasn’t the time for that! After a good ten minutes, which felt like forever, he gets lucky and sees her top hung up on a rock formation just at his feet, He lowers down and scoops it up and holds it out behind himself.

Here, here take it already!”

She quickly takes it and puts it back on. They both let out a sigh of relief as no one saw their struggle.

“Thank you for helpme Kenji...sorry about..you know.”

“Honestly Cadence, I have grown used to getting into trouble with you. I may complain about it, but it is something you need not take seriously.”

“S-so..”

She started fidgeting with her fingers.

“You really think they are nice?”

;Y-yeah..I do. Like i said you are turning into a very fine mare…”

“You know,most stallions trip over their tongues when talking to me like that. Yet it doesn’t bother you in the slightest…”

“Honestly Cadence, I don’t see why most males do that. I mean what is the worst that could happen? She takes offense to you ogling her and she slaps you. That’s it.”

He was right, that is how most females, especially the attractive ones reacted. Even Cadence knew that. Kenji looks over at the horizon, the sun definitely starting to set for the evening, Celestia must be getting ready to raise the moon. Not only that, but storm clouds were gathering above, Kenji could smile the rain coming.

“H-hey, I think we should head inside Kenji, it is getting rather dark out don’t you think?”

She said as she tries to pull him along out of the water. He blinks a few times, but nods

“Sure thing, I am getting hungry anyways..”

After they got changed, dinner came along, it was a quiet dinner. Then soon after, they went straight to their rooms and got comfy. It was later in the night, Kenji was still up. Wearing nothing as he did, when he slept. Suddenly it began pouring down outside, lightning and thunder going on as well. He was reading a book he had found in the small lamp light by his bed, until he heard a knock at his door.

“Kenji...i-it is Cadence...can I please come in?”

“Of course Cadence, feel free.”

He had the blanket over his lap, he was fine. Cadence came in with a blanket wrapped around her and over her head, her pillow in her arms. After she shut the door, a loud clap of thunder rang out, She lets out an adorable little shriek and quickly runs to pounce on Kenji, holding onto him tightly.

“Cadence, calm down! What’s wrong?”

“I...I..”

Another clap of thunder, she lets out a whimper of fear, pressing closer against him. Right then, he knew what it was.

“Afraid of thunder and lightning huh?”

She nods as she starts shaking against him, holding onto him like a child clinging to their mother. He smiles lightly and wraps his arms around her.

“I hate it...so much...ever since I was a filly it has scared me to death...I am sorry I came to bother you with it, but I felt I would be safer here with you…”

“Hey, it’s alright Cadence. Normally I wouldn’t be up to this kind of stuff….but since it is you, I am willing to make an exception. Now, don’t worry. I am not going anywhere…promise.”

He said as he wraps his arms around her fully but carefully. She nuzzles into his chest and rests her hands on his shoulders, still shaking, but feeling a bit more safe. Kenji things back to how his mother used to comfort him as a child when he was frightened. He remembers a specific song she used to hum to him. He figured he’d give it a shot. He began to hum in his low and cool voice, bringing his hand up to her head and lightly running his fingers through her mane. closing his eyes and doing all that he can to console her. It appeared to be working, her shaking had stopped. She rested her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat along with his humming She felt safe with him, she wasn’t going to lie about that. And the way he was acting now, not as a guardian, but as a caring friend. She wished he was always like this. She wished he would be himself around her. A large brute of a man, but also a sweet and caring person that would protect her and show her that he cares through means of affection.

“Thank you Kenji...you are a really sweet guy…”

“Cadence, I trust you know why I act the way I do around you when I am on duty…”

“Because it is your job, I know.”

“What would you say if I didn’t want to act like that though?”

“What do you mean, Kenji?”

“I care for you Cadence...I really do care for you. I know I may be serious almost all the time. But I wish i could let my guard down and have fun with you. I wish it could be like it was when I was home. I had a job yes, but I could be myself. I was good with kids, I was good with other adults. But i feel that with this new job. I cannot be like that anymore. Today...today was absolutely amazing. Even more so when I got to spend it with you. But I know..after our time here, things will go back to how they were. I just..wanted you to know how i felt.”

“Oh Kenji...sweet sweet Kenji…”

She said as she nuzzles into him more, straddling over his lap and looking up into his eyes.

“I enjoyed today as well...but do not worry, we still have another four days until we return. So let’s make the best of it, shall we?”

He nods with a small smile.

“Yeah...let’s have as much fun as we can before we have to return…”

And with that, as he held her close to his form, they eventually fall asleep in each others embrace, Cadence lying on top of him like he was a giant body pillow, continuing to listen to his heartbeat.

Also, for those that are wondering. my anthro ponies don't have human legs, they have pony legs with hooves and everything. The picture of Cadence is all I could find that wasn't as her future curvy self. Still is still barely in adulthood.

Act 7: Eternal Night Threatens The Land

The time away from the mainland was absolutely wonderful for both Kenji and Cadence. They had grown much closer on their relationship and she has even convinced him that it is alright to be himself around her when they are alone together. In the castle or not. Progress was being made, that is all that mattered. After that, a couple of years have passed.Cadence has definitely matured into a fine mare, and Kenji has fully matured as well, having grown a few more inches. He even grew his hair out more, and keeps the back tied in a neat braid that hangs down to his lower back. Present day was just like any other day,things were pretty routine. Well, almost everything. Something was rather..off about the time of day. Kenji was in Cadence’s room when he looked out the window.

“Cadence, should the sun be up right about now? I know that today is the summer sun celebration according to princess Celestia.”

Cadence blinks a bit and nods, the thought coming to her.

“You are right...Aunty should have raised the sun right around the time we made it home...I hope everything is alright.”

Kenji couldn’t shake the feeling that everything wasn’t alright, the good thing about having dark chi in your body, is that it enables him to sense when dark energy or magic is nearby, kind of like that tingly bubbly feeling you get when you can feel something important is going to happen within the next hour.

“Cadence...whatever you do. Do NOT leave this room. I need to go check on something in the little town below. I fear that we may have quite the issue on our hands this night. And I fear Celestia may be involved. Cast a cloaking or invisibility spell if you have one. Though I feel that the threat will not make it’s way here...yet.”

Cadence looked to Kenji, worried for both him and the ponies in the town known as Ponyville.

“Kenji...I think I should come with you, just incase you need my magic to help.”

“I cannot allow that, Cadence. The dark magic I feel may very well cause you harm, and I am not going to take that chance. Please, stay here. I will return later. Until then,make sure you stay here, hide if you need to.And should things get too bad, then teleport to me.”

He said as he walks to the door, Cadence wrapping her arms around his waist before he could leave.

“You better come back alive...you hear me?”

“As always Cadence, I promise you I shall return.”

He said after petting her gently and hugging her with one arm. His grabs his large scythe and sheaths it on his back. Once he makes it outside into one of the gardens, he leaps up onto one of the railing and stares down at his target.

“It’s gonna be a loooooong glide down...but I need to do this, I owe Princess Celestia a lot…”

He suddenly leaps off the railing and into the air, going into his gliding form and begins to sail through the air like a hot knife through butter. Down, down, down he went. His focus of the dark magic was now directed towards the forest area below, and what appeared to be an old abandoned castle. That is definitely where the source was coming from. From above, he could see dark blue and purplish pink flashing coming from the room he was circling over. This was it. Time to face whatever threat that had dragged him out here away from Cadence. He wasn’t going to admit it, but he wasn’t too happy about leaving her side. Who would want to with a body like that?

“You are too late, the Elements Of Harmony will not save you now!”

Shouted the black and blue alicorn.

“You are wrong, Nightmare Moon! I will find a way to use them against you! I will make sure that Princess Celestia returns!”

“Enough! I will not let you speak that name in my presence, welp!”

She fired a large beam of magic directly at Twilight. What happens next, shocks both of them. The ceiling is broken through by a large being. upon landing in front of Twilight, he deploys a stone shield that cuts off Nightmare Moon's attack instantly. after which it crumbles into dust. Twilight smiled widely as she knew exactly who it was.

“Big brother Kenji!”

Why the nickname? It will be explained later, for now, epic battle!

“Looks like I saved your rump in time didn’t I, Twi?”

“You did...thank you again, you are always there for me and Cadence…”

Kenji nods and takes his weapon into his hands, getting into a defensive stance.

“You made a big mistake attacking Twilight, bitch. You may be an alicorn, but that doesn’t mean I can’t take you down with force…”

Nightmare Moon laughs wickedly as she looks at Kenji.

“And just what are you? Some kind of freak of nature? You are no pony. So why should our affairs matter to you?”

“Because I own Princess Celestia my life. So In serve under her and I will do what I can to keep this land safe from other like you…”

He wasted no time in charging forward, letting out a mighty roar as he does so. He dodges her magical attacks in his blood fury, the attacks looking slow in his eyes, as if focusing extra hard on her and her movements.

How is he so fast with his size?!

Kenji gets in close enough to swing his scythe down at nightmare Moon, but was blocked by her own scythe that appeared in front of her. The two were now in a deadlock, pushing and shoving at each other. Kenji calls out to Twilight.

“Twi, do what you need to do! I will hold her off!”

He said between grunts. The deadlock suddenly breaking as Nightmare shoves him back with all her physical strength, she then focuses her magic and lifts him up, beginning to squeeze him with her magic. Kenji lets out a growl of pain.

“Ha! You are a fool if you believe you can defeat me with brute strength! I will crush you until I break every bone in your body!”

“Eheheheh….good luck bitch…”

He said as he opened up a temporary dragon pulse which sucked him out of her grip, appearing behind her and jamming the blunt end of his scythe into her back, causing her to stumble forward. She lets out an angered scream as a dark energy swirls around her, then she concentrates all of it into a ball and sends it flying at Kenji. He slams his weapon into the ground and puts out both of his hands. He was about to do the unthinkable. Absorb the energy into his already high dark chi container that dwelled within his body. Afterwhich he fell to a knee, clutching at his chest.

“Looks like you are all talk with those big muscles of yours! I can finally destroy you, and after that, the night will reign forever, and there is nothing anypony can do about it!”

She said as she leaps at him with her weapon overhead, getting ready to strike down upon him. But no hit was connected, instead, Kenji lets out another roar, but this time it was more inhuman. As a growing force field of dark energy flew from his body, forcing the alicorn back a good twenty feet on her ass. Kenji leaps from his position to her, pouncing on top of her and wrapping his hand around her head, lifting her up and slamming her back down into the ground over and over again, then punching her a few times as his dark chi grows larger and larger.

“Kenji, that's enough please!”

Shouted Twilight as she ran over him and tugged on his arms. Hearing Twilight's voice saying that, he stopped. He stands up and backs away, his dark chi fading away as he suppresses it back down.

“S-sorry twi...I had to make sure she wasn’t going to be able to get back up for awhile.”

My friends and I will take it from here. Thank you for coming when you did. But you need to get back to Cadence. I will stay here until you are done with what it is you are doing twi, can never be too safe…”

“True enough, alright girls, ready the elements!”

She said before her and her new friends summoned this...rainbow sort of magic. He watched it consume the knocked out alicorn, only to reveal that it was a smaller less evil looking alicorn.

“Oh god...I have seen this alicorn somewhere before…”

It finally hit him, he widened his eyes

“Wellll, I am going to go ahead and head back now. Looks like you got everything under control Twi….uh..bye!”

Before he could go, he heard his name called out by that voice he wasn’t hoping to be around here.

“Kenji Akabane!”

Yep, Celestia herself was now in the room.

“And where do you think you are going, mister?”

“I-I can explain princess! If I hadn’t acted she would have hurt Twi! I had to subdue her somehow! She nearly killed me!”

She walks upto him and places a finger on his lips.

“Kenji, calm down dear. I am not mad at you. But you were leaving without telling Twilight Sparkle’s new friends your name? I know you just finished helping my sister return from darkness, that is no reason to run away.”

“I...didn’tmean to be so rough with her, had I known-”

“The important thing is you stopped when Twilight told you to back off.I am proud of you Kenji.You have been improving on controling that dark energy of yours inside of you.”

Twilight runs up and wraps her arms around his leg, hugging against him.

“He came just in time princess! Hadn’t he done so, I am afraid I would have perished from Nightmare Moon’s magic”

“Well, I made a promise before your brother passed away Twilight. And I will honor that promise.”

“I know you will, big brother Kenji...you always come for me when I need you, even for the smallest of thing...and I appreciate it. I want to introduce you to my new friends, Ken!”

“Now is not the time, Twilight. I must ask kenji to take my sister to the medical wing in Canterlot for her injuries. He really did a number on her.”

“I..am really sorry about that again princess…”

“It is alright, sweetie, I know you did what you had to do, and stopped when it was needed. Don’t worry, alicorns heal quickly. Though it would be best if you aren’t there when she wakes up...something tells me she will not react very well to the sight of you looming over her since she will most likely remember what happened.”

Kenji lifts the smaller alicorn up in his arms and nods.

“They will know where to take her then once i hand her off?”

“Yes, I will be there to watch over her when she wakes up. In the meantime, you got a princess of love to return to, she has been very worried about you.”

“Ah...I suppose she told you what I was doing huh..?”

“Indeed she did. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful to you for making sure my most faithful student was well protected. But poor Cadence was in her room pacing around in circles nearly putting an indentation in the tile. Now, hurry along. I will even teleport you to the medical wing. The royal doctor will take everything from there.”

“Alright princess, ready.”

With that he vanishes in a bright light, appearing in the medical wing lobby with Luna in his arms.

“Doctors, quickly!”

He shouted to get their attention.They quickly run over, a stretcher behind them.

“She has been banged up pretty badly. Princess Celestia told me to bring her to you.”

“Aaah,our princess of the night has returned to us at last. Thank you Kenji, we'll make sure she is taken care of.”

He nods and lowers her carefully onto the stretcher.

“Alright, I have my duty to attend to. Princess Celestia said she will be here soon to watch over her.”

“Very good, take care Kenji.”

With that, he leaves the medical wing and heads back to Cadence’s room. He knocks on the door. He heard quick hoofsteps and a bit of stumbling on the way to the door, watching it swing open.

“Kenji?!”

“I told you I would be back.”

She doesn’t waste any time in pouncing against him and wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzling into his side.”

“I was so worried...after you didn’t come back for a while. I feared that something happened…”

Kenji smiles down at her and lightly runs his hand up and down her back.

“Come on Cadence...you know very well I wouldn’t just up and leave you...though I am glad i did leave. Twi was in danger and would have been hurt or worse if i hadn’t shown up.”

“What was going on?!”

“Well, Nightmare Moon had returned...she was about to really hurt Twilight till I showed up. And without knowing that she was actually Luna, I...kind of roughed her up a bit…”

“Is...aunty mad…?”

“Thankfully, no. She understood what I had to do, but I did drop her off at the medical wing before I came here.”

She nodded and pressed more closely to him, nuzzling more.

“I...am just glad you are alright…”

“I am fine, Cadence. Just very exhausted. Used up a lot of energy and chi in that fight, she had me on the ropes for a second. And then I...well, nevermind.”

She looks up at him with knowing eyes.

“Kenji...you didn’t...please tell me you didn’t.”

“I had no choice Cadence, it was either that or I was going to die right there.”

She squeezes tighter around him, he eyes closed tight.

“I know you are gaining better control of it...but it still pains me to see you use that when it nearly killed you.”

“Cadence,I know it frightens you and it worries you. But it is a part of whoIam. And if I gain full control of it, I can use it to help protect you, instead of having it corrupt me.”

“I know Kenji, it’s just...I hate seeing you becoming something far worse than what you became that night,especially since you are gaining control over it. Knowing the real you is gentle and kind…”

She said as she hugs him as tight as she can.

“And I don’t want to lose that…”

He kneels down in front of her and lightly cups her cheek with one of his hands.

“Cadence, listen to me,alright? I will remind you of the words I spoke to you that night. Despite how I act around here, you know Iwill always prioritize you as a friend rather than a princess. Because I care about you, so very much. And I will lay down my life for you not because it is an order from princess Celestia, but because I choose to do so in order to keep you safe from harm. You and Twi are all I have here. And I will not fail either of you. As I know how much she means to you as well. Do you understand me?”

Cadence takes his arm into her hands and nuzzles into his touch, She nods and begins to cry lightly, wrapping her arms around his neck and leans into him.

“Twilight and I love you very much, Kenji...without you, things would be very bleak for us, especially since she lost her brother two years ago. You have really helped her out, and in doing so you have helped me as well. To see that young mare smile again, because of you. It makes me happy. You are very special to both of us Kenji. Please don’t ever leave us.”

Kenji chuckles lightly.

“Even if a portal to my home opened up here, I would not return to it. I know my purpose lies here now.”

Cadence continued to hold onto Kenji, the two stayed like that for hours, eventually both setting off for bed.

Act 8: A Giant Among Ponies

A week has passed since Nightmare Moon had been destroyed and Luna was back to herself once more. At least Kenji now knows what the other tower was for now. He hasn’t been to see Luna as of yet. But maybe he shouldn't. On account of he did beat the ever living night lights out of her, but he did it to save her from Nightmare Moon..wait. Anyways, Today was going to be an interesting day though. While Cadence was of doing her thing, something came up for Kenji. Twilight has requested him to come to Ponyville to visit her and her friends, since they never really got to introduce each other from the other night. He didn’t see any harm in doing this, since he had Twilight to vouch for him should things go wrong when he gets there.

“You sure you won’t need me today Cadence?”

He asked as he was leaning against the wall in her room, watching her do her usual studies and such.

“I am sure Kenji, go ahead and go see Twily, I am sure she has been eager for you to meet all of her Ponyville friends.”

“I wish you could come along though. Instead of being cramped up in here all day…”

Cadence gets up from her chair and walks over to him, wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzles into him.

“I know, Kenji. I really wish I could go to, but today is an important day. I got a big test in less than a few hours and it is crucial I pass it.”

Kenji smiles and lightly runs his hand up and down her back.

“Well,how about when I get back I give you one of my famous massages? Those always seem to help you feel better.”

Cadence blushed brightly, but nodded rapidly as an answer. She loved his skilled hands, and no matter where he touched her, it made shivers run down her spine, even what he was doing now made her feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

“I will definitely hold you to that, Kenji. You do know how to help me relax. Now, go on, don’t keep her waiting now.”

“Right...Twi is usually pretty impatient isn’t she?”

They both laughed lightly. Kenji hugs her gently against him before heading out.

“Study hard Cadence, I know you got this in the bag.”

“And your faith in me makes me all the more determined!”

She said enthusiastically.

“Alright, should things come up, you know how to get ahold of me.”

She giggles and pushes him towards the door, well...tries to anyways. But he got the message.

“Have fun Kenji.”

“I will return early in the evening.”

“Good, you can join me for a bath when you get back.”

Kenji blinks as she says this. But shakes his head.

“Why must you tease me all the time Cadence?”

“Oh no, I am being serious this time. We have known each other for three years Kenji. I feel I can trust you when I am completely nude in front of you. Plus you can scrub me down, then give me that massage. Anyways, I look forward to it! See you later!”

Before he could protest however, the door was shut.

“Geez...what is with ehr?”

Kenji made his way out of the castle and began his long glide down to Ponyville. Once there, he lands in the middle of the town square in front of the fountain. When he does, all eyes were now fixed on him. Ponies stared at him like he was something completely new to them. Then again, he probably was. And his size wasn’t helping the situation either, the tallest pony came up to his waist, barely above his hip. The princesses came up to his chest, including their horns..

“Um….afternoon all. Any idea where I might find Twilight Sparkle? I am supposed to meet with ehr and-”

“Kenjiiiii!”

Shouted that familiar voice that was getting closer and closer. He turned around to see the unicorn rushing towards him at max speed, leaping up and wrapping her arms around his neck and hanging off him, nuzzling into him.

“You finally made it! I was on my way back to the Library when I saw you gliding in.”

A mare with mint green firt and white hair approaches Kenji, looking up at him.

“You are the one that goes by Kenji?”

“That I am.”

“Well...we have all heard how you stopped Nightmare Moon. I can see they were not exaggerating your size….you are just so...large and built like a mountain…”

She said as she continued to eye him, a slight blush on her cheeks as she imaged him without his robes on. Kenji just shook his head and cradles the lavender unicorn in his arms.

“Showme which way to go, and I will carry you on the way, Twi.”

She was living a little filly’s dream, to be carried by someone stronger and protective, she nestled into his arms.

“Straight ahead, the large tree in the middle of the town.”

As they walked, Kenuji began asking Twilight question about Cadence.

“Hey Twi...has Cadence ever had a coltfriend before?”

She places a finger on her cheek and thinks, then shakes her head.

“No, she has not...mainly because I scare them away. Why do you ask?”

“Well...I can’t tell if she is teasing me all the time, or she is making advances on me. Before I came here today, she said I will be joining her for a bath when I return tonight. And she was serious about it.”

Twilight looked up at Kenji with half lidded eyes and a smile.

“Go for it K”

“.....Wait, what?”

“If it was anyone else, I would not let such a thing happen. But you, you have become like family to me, especially after Shining’s passing. And when we are together, I see how she looks at you. She adores you, Kenji. And deep down I know you adore her as well. But you let your differences of where you come from get in the way of that. I know you feel you have an obligation to act professional around ehr. But loosen up and enjoy a nice bath with her tonight.”

“I also did promise her a massage to tonight since she couldn’t come along. But if you think it would be fine, I will take her up on her offer.”

They make it to the library, he sets her down so that she can walk in, he goes in after after, but has to nealy squat to get into the door. It was rather dark for a moment, then the lights turn on.

“SURPRISE!!!”

Everypony yelled at once, making Kenji instantly draw his weapon Though Twilight calmed him down.

“Kenji, it’s just a party! No one is going to attack, silly man.”

“Oh….sorry.”

He said before putting his weapon back on his back. The first pony to approach him was a very bouncy and curvy pink earth pony with a smile that could light up a dark path.

“Sodidyoylikemysurprisedidyoudidyouhuhuhuhuhuhuh?!”

“Well...let’s just say that is all I am glad it was.”

“You are reeeaaaaallllyyyyy tall you know.you are like...a walking jungle gym!”

“And what is your name?”

“I am Pinkie Pie. I am the one who put this little get-together for you. I really really hope you like it.”

Kenji couldn’t help but reach down and pet her her gently, she didn’t even know him and yet she threw a party just for him.

“Thank you Pinkie. You didn’t have to, but thank you.”

“You are absolutely welcome!”

“Oh my...your outfit is simply divine, darling, such beautiful black silk, and golden accents...and though your physique is very brutish, it looks rather handsome on you…”

“Rarity!”

Twilight said with a glare.

“Oh don’t worry Twi, I take that as a compliment actually.”

“Oh I didn’t mean it as an insult dear. You really do look handsome, and your body must get all the attention you could ever want.”

She said as she ran her hands over his clothing, feeling around his muscles whenever she could as well.

“So strong...so fierce…”

“And what do they call this posh and lovely mare before me?”

“I am Rarity, and I own the little boutique just a little ways down the street. I am a fashionista.”

“Ah, a fancier word for seamstress.”

“I really do love you clothing though, outlandish, but beautiful at the same time. I’d love it if you came by my place of business so that I could look at it and get to know you on a more...personal level.”

She said as she fluttered her eyes at him.

Rarity and those damn eyes of hers…

“Hey big guy! I am Rainbow Dash, nice to meetcha!”

Said a cyan blue pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail, her physique was slim and streamline, she must have been a very athlete mare. He nods and takes her hand into his and shakes it gently.

“A pleasure to meet you Rainbow Dash. Your name suits you quite nicely”

“You bet it does, I am the fastest flyer ever, in all of equestria even!”

“Overconfidence is the greatest enemy. Be careful.”

“Thanks for your concern, but I got this!”

“Well looky here. Ah remember seein’ ya the other day, but I don’t remember seein’ ya bein’ this big! Nearly as tall as my biggest apple tree!”

Said an orange pony with a blonde mane that came up beside him. Now this one must have been a worker. Her physique clearly outranked Dash’s by a longshot. But she still maintained a high level of beauty herself, and her accent did kind of turn Kenji on a bit.

“Name’s Applejack, but you can call me AJ. All my friends do. Nice to meetcha, sugarcube.”

“You as well AJ.”

And last but not least, was a curvy well endowed yellow mare with a pink mane and tail who was hiding behind Twilight, looking over her shoulder as she eyes Kenji nervously. Kenji could feel his heart melting away at how adorable she looked, and those lovely cyan eyes of hers only made her even more so. He walks over to her and crouches down in front of her. Though he was still taller, he’d hoped it would make him less intimidating.

“And what are you called then?”

“I-I….I am…”

“It’s alright, I promise that I am gentle, please do not be afraid of me.”

He said asi he offered a large hand to her. She was hesitant for a few moment, then slowly reached out and placed a hand into his, in which he slowly closed his over it. Bringing his other one over her mane and lightly caresses it, then just under her jaw then back up again. She seems a little sad after he pulled his hand away though.

“I..am Fluttershy, pleased to meet you...very pleased…”

He chuckled lightly and stood up.

“I am sure you all know who I am, but I will reintroduce myself anyways. I am Kenji Akabane. It is truly a pleasure to meet all of you. And thank you for coming to this gathering in honor of...well, I am not sure…”

“It’s a party in honor of you, silly!”

Shouted Pinkie as she jumped onto his shoulders and leaned down to look him in the eyes. Flexible girl, this one is. The party went on and on for what felt like hours. Probably because it was going on for hours. Eventually Kenji made it to the sidelines, going into deep thought as he watched Twilight mainly, the memories of Shining Armor’s last moments running to him quickly.

--Canterlot Castle, South Garden--

“Get him a medic, at this rate he will bleed out shortly, now!”

Shouted Kenji at he had just disposed of an assassin who had hit their mark. If only he had been there a few second sooner…

“Hang in there shining… you are going to be fine. They will patch you up and you will be up and about...you will see.”

Kenji said as he tried to remain optimistic for the situation at hand. The assassin had plunged a dagger directly into the heart of the stallion.

“Kenji..I know I'm not going to make it...I...I want to ask you a big favor before I leave this world…”

“Come on Shining...there has to be a way for you to recover from this...this is a world of great magic after all!”

Shining brings his hand up, Kenji grabbing it and gripping it gently.

“Please...look after Twily...I know she will not approve at first...but without me around, she will become lost in a few ways. I ask that you take my place as her brother...I know you aren’t part of our family, but I can...see no one better suited than you…”

He coughs up blood all over his armor before slowly drifting away.

“Please...protect her...with your life. As you protect Cadence…”

He hand goes limp as the rest of his body does, He lowers his hand onto his chest and closes his eyes for a moment.

“I will honor this final request of your...my fellow warrior. May you rest in peace.”

“Where’s my brother?! Where is he?!”

Shouted Twilight as she ran toward Kenji. When she gets closer, her eyes widen and begin to fill up with tears. Kenji stands up and lowers his head.

“I am sorry Twilight,I-”

“Why didn’t you save him?! He counted on you to help him and this is the result?! This is all your fault!!”

She shouted as tears fall from her face now. Shre runs to him and start hitting him as hard as she can against his leg, the sobbing unicorn continuing to shout.

“It’s your fault, it’s your fault!!!”

She then fell to her knees as she started crying even harder. Kenji didn’t know what to do. By this time, Princess Celestia had already made her way to the scene, Kenji turned his head in her direction.

“Twilight Sparkle, this isn’t Kenji’s fault, the only one who is at fault here is the assassin that took his life. Kenji did what he could. He just couldn’t make it in time. Don’t blame him-”

Kenji puts his hand up.

“It’s alright princess.”

Kenji kneels down in front of the crying unicorn.

“Twilight...look at me,please.”

She slowly lifts her head up, tears still flowing.

“If you want to blame me for your brother’s death to help with the grief then by all means. But before he died, he made a request i plan to honor, whether you like it or not. He asked a be a brother to you, look out for you and make sure you are alright. You can hate me for all eternity, and I will not step down from this.”

Twilight wanted to be mad at him, even hate him, someone anyone. But his words were so genuine, that all she could do was just jump up and wrap her arms around him and sob into his chest. He slowly wrapped his arms around her, giving her the comfort she needed.

“I am sorry Twilight...I really really am. I know I am not your brother, nor will I ever be. But I will honor his request, even if it should kill me. I will keep you safe…”

Kenji….Kenji?

--End Of Flashback--

He lifts his head and opens his eyes as Twilight stands in front of him with a concerned gaze.

“Ken...are you alright?”

“Y-yeah...just bad memories is all…”

“Does it still haunt you…?”

She asked with a frown.

“Yeah...even with how long it has been, it still remains engraved in my mind.”

Twilight walks up to Kenji and hugs him tightly, nuzzling into him.

“I know it wasn’t your fault Kenji...and i don’t blame you. But, what I do know, is that I see you as my big brother, and you have done very well to look after me. I know..wherever my brother is, he is smiling knowing he left me in strong and capable hands. I want to thank you, Kenji.”

She motioned him to lower down to a crouch,when he does, she leans up to give him a kiss on the cheek, luckily no one saw.

“Please keep watching over me and Cadence. I know we would both be lost without you…”

“Always Twi, always.”

Act 9: An Untold Event On The Night Of The Gala

The sound of light snoring could be heard if anyone was near by in the west garden of Canterlot Castle. There under one of the large trees laid the large gon. Having an afternoon nap in the cool shade away from the sunlight. A butterfly hovering over his face. It lands on his nose and stays there for a moment, looking down at him. He slowly opens his eyes as he hears hoofsteps approaching. The Butterfly makes it’s way off elsewhere. Who should be the one to find him but Celestia herself. Staring at him with a feign sense of disapproval.

“Napping on the job as usual, Kenji?”

“Aaah, but I am off today Tia. So you can’t say anything this time.”

They both chuckle at their playful snaps at one another. She approaches him and stares down at him.

“I do have someone I want you to meet though, Kenji. Please let me introduce you to my little sister, Luna.”

Kenji quickly sat up from where he was lying and blinked a few times. He looked up at Celestia, then saw the very same alicorn she was speaking of. She was hiding halfway behind the tall hedge that made a wall around the garden, staring at him with an uncertain gaze..

“Tia...you really think it is a good idea for her to really meet me after what had happened?”

“I understand you caution. But she has taken it upon herself to come and meet you. I have nothing to do with her decision.”

He looks over to the semi hiding alicorn who gave him a nod. She slowly comes out and approaches him though, when he stands up, she feels so small compared to him. But she braved her fear and looked up at him.

“You are the one Tia calls Kenji? I...want to express my gratitude in your efforts to save me from my evil self…”

“It’s not a problem. I am sorry about the rough treatment though. Kind of a force of habit when dealing with situations such as that.”

“It is no trouble mighty warrior. You helped bring me back. And I can say for sure I did deserve that kind of attention when I returned.”

Kenji walks up to Luna and slowly and gently places a hand on her head and pets her. She winced at his touch at first, but feeling the warm and gentle pettings made her smile and sway her tail happily.

“I am very happy to have helped you. Tia missed you greatly and she is overjoyed to have you back. And if she is happy, I am happy. Now then. Is there anything else you needed Tia?”

“Ah yes, as you know, tonight is the Grand Galloping Gala and-”

“Sorry Tia, Cadence and I already have plans.”

Celestia arches a brow and tilts her head.

“Ooooh? And what is it that you two will be doing tonight?”

“We are just simply going out on the town is all. Don’t read too much into it. I know you are a hopeless romantic.”

Celestia blushes brightly and turns away from him and her sister.

“I-I would never ever think of such things between you and my niece…”

Oooooh they would be soooo perfect together!!!

She thought to herself with an internal squee. But then regained her regal composure. Kenji knew exactly what was on her mind though.

“Very well then. I trust you will look after her as always then?”

“Well of course, I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t.”

“Very well then. I must go and see to further preparations.”

“See you around then, Tia. You and your sister be very careful. And I am happy for both of you. Welcome back again, Princess Luna.”

“Uuum...you call my big sister by her nickname...you can call me Lulu if you want.”

“Very well then, I shall call you Lulu, it suits you better anyways. Anyways, it is getting to be able that time. Cadence asked me to help her get her outfit picked out. Though I still find it odd that she always wants my opinion…”

Celestia giggles and turn her head to him.

“Maybe there is a reason for you it that you just don’t want to admit to yourself. Anyways, you two be good.”

Luna waves shyly before accompanying her sister.

“Tia...who is he? He isn’t a pony, and yet he is close to you and even more so to Cadence. I do not understand…”

“I will explain in due time, Lulu. Let’s just say for now...he is probably going to be the next prince within the next year or so. Cadence has fallen head over hoof for him. But she is scared to tell him because gew is just so...serious and stoic about his job. I gave him the order sure...but I think that he is letting it get in the way of their relationship blossoming.”

“And you approve of her feelings towards this...being?”

“He is a gon, Luna. A very proud warrior race. And yes, I do. He may not want to admit it, but I can see he cares for Cadence a very great deal. I hope to Faust that he does confess his feelings to her at some point.”

--Cadence’s Room, Before The Gala--

Kenji leaned against his usual spot on the wall,watching Cadence go through her closet of nearly endless outfits. He just shook his head.

“Come on, Cadence. You know I think you look good pretty in anything you put on. And if I do, I know others will as well. We are just going out aren’t we?”

She leans out with a groan. Only wearing undies and a bra.

“I know, but I want to look extra pretty! This is a special night after all! We are finally going out on a date! And your job doesn’t matter this night! How can I not take advantage?!”

“I am excited as well Cadence. I know I don’t show it, but I really am happy that I get to spend some personal time with you. But you don’t have to go overboard on your appearance for me.”

He said as he watched a dress fly towards him. He grabs it and examines the black silk fabric, seeing how it shimmered like the night sky in the light. He looked over it’s length, guessing it was just above the knee length.it was dress with a halter top. He thinks on it for a second, blushing as he just wanted to tell her that this would be perfect for her..

“Uh...Cadence? How about this one?”

She stopped long enough to look at the dress in his hands as he approached her. She takes it into her own and looks it over.

“I think that one would suit you very well. Not too tight, but not too loose. And I happen to think you look rather sexy in black.”

Cadence blushed lightly as she heard him call her ‘sexy’. She knew he thought she was attractive. But to hear him actually say it made her heart flutter just a bit.

“Alright then...I will wear this one.”

She said as she slipped it on, looking over her shoulder at him.

“Could you zip me up in the back please?”

He nods and does so, careful not to catch her fur in the zipper. After he finished, she turned around and posed for him, giving him half lidded eyes and a seductive smile. Oh god. What has he just done to himself? He was right, that dress looked absolutely amazing on her. It clung to her curves, but not overly so. And it was indeed the perfect height. And the halter top showed off just the right amount of cleavage.

“It...looks very sexy on you Cadence...more than I thought before…”

She giggles and sways her hips playfully at him.

“You are a large monstrous warrior that can slay beasts. Yet, when it comes to mare you are just as shy as a schoolcolt. It’s rather adorable.”

“Oh don’t even start with that again…”

He said as he turned away with his arms crossed, making his way back to his spot on the wall.

“Just...hurry up and get ready.”

Cadence giggled as she knew she had him pegged. She continued to get ready, doing what mares did to pretty themselves up. It was another twenty minutes or so after she had snapped him out of his train of thought.

“You ready to go, Kenji?”

“I am, let us make haste before the crowd rolls in, yes?”

“Sounds good!”

She said as she loops her arms around his, smiling up at him warmly.. They make it out of the castle and onto the streets of Canterlot before things got too busy in the castle. They walked along to street, Cadence still wrapped around his arm. They simply just talked as they walked along the streets. Ignoring anyone who stared at them oddly or in fear of Kenji. He didn’t care, nor did she. This was their time together.

“So where should we go first?”

He asked as he looked down at her.

“Well, I hear there is some kind of food stand in Canterlot that is better than all the restaurants combined. Wanna go and check that out?”

“A food stand you say? Better than going to a restaurant. The tables would be a bit too small, as would the chairs.”

Cadence giggled and lead him on.

“I believe it was this way.”

They walked on and on until the came across the stand. It was an oriental noodle cart, kind of like what he had back home. It even smelled familiar. His mouth was watering as they approached it.

“Oh wow...it smells just like the food I would always eat back home…”

Cadence giggled at him as he approached the stand. He frightened the owner a bit when he did so though.

“C-Can I help you s-s-sir?”

“You wouldn’t happen to have garlic pork roast ramen would you?”

The owner blinked a few times, then smiled.

“Very rarely does someone order that off my menu…”

“Well, I could smell it from a mile away. Biggest bowl you got please.”

He nodded and looked over to Cadence.

“And for you ma’am?”

“I will just have your veggie ramen, thank you”

“Very well, fifteen bits please.”

Cadence was about to reach into her bag, but Kenji already had the money out, even an extra five as a tip.

“Thanks big guy. I will get those ramens ready.”

“Thank YOU for having this stand!”

He said with a big smile. The owner chuckled lightly and went to the back and began preparations. Cadence looked up at Kenji who was already getting impatient, but wasn’t upset.

“You know, you didn’t have to pay for mine.”

“Nonsense! You are in for a real treat Cadence. If it is anything like my food back home, you will want to come here everyday.”

They sat there quietly after that. Thoughts running through their minds.

I wonder if he remembers what today is…

Should I give it to her now? Or wait till later?

Their thoughts were interrupted by the bowls being placed on the bar in front of them.

“Here you are. Two ramens. Enjoy!”

The owner said as he walked back into the back. Leaving them alone. Kenji picked up the chopsticks and clapped his hands together, bowing his head.

“Thank you for the food.”

Cadence was having a bit of an issue though, she did not know how to use chopsticks. Kenji chuckled lightly and took her hands into his. This made her blush a bit as he did this, also feeling him press against her a bit didn’t help.

“Like this Cadence, just take them in your fingers like this, and when you want to grab the noodles, just work your fingers like this and you will know how to use chopsticks.”

It took a few tries and a bit of support from Kenji, but soon she was eating the ramen just like he was. And she absolutely loved the flavors it had. A little spicy, but so very tasty. After they had finished eaten, they said goodbye to the owner of the stand and went on their way. They visited a few more places here and there. It was getting late, and the Gala was coming to an end. The last stop was at a park in the city. It was a quiet but lovely place to be when it was night time. They both sat on a park bench together.

Come on you fool, give it to her already!!!

Shouted the voice in his head. He looked over at Cadence who had a bit of sadness in her eyes. Did she think he had forgotten? That’s it. It was now or never! He stood up and scratched the back of his head, then turns to her as he reaching into his robe’s inner pocket. He kneeled down in front of her on one knee and lifted her chin up gently.

“Come on...tonight is a good night, especially since it is your birthday.”

Her ears perk up and her eyes widen. When she looked up, he was holding out a small black box.

“Happy Birthday, Cadence. I really hope you like it.”

She takes the small box into her hands and opens it up, revealing a black chain necklace, covered in many beautiful amethyst stones. She les out a gasp, then immediately jumps up from the bench and wraps her arms around him tightly, nuzzling into his shoulder, her tail swaying ninety miles an hour.

“Oh Kenji, thank you so so much! I love it, I really really do!”

He smiles and wraps his own arms around her lovingly, bringing her in closely.

“I am happy you like it...really I am.”

He takes the necklace from her and carefully brings it round her neck, securing the latch on it and lets it rest against her chest and neck.

“It looks good on you.”

“I...I really thought you had forgotten…”

“Come on Cadence. I would never ever forget your birthday.”

She lowers her head, but leans up quickly and locks her lips with his, standing on the tips of her hooves and wrapping her arms around him again. Kenji wanted to pull away, but at the same time he dared not to. She had given him his first kiss, and it was...nice. He gently reaches up and runs his fingers through her mane gently. Seeing to how he reacted, she was in heaven at the moment, feeling his fingers run through her mane felt wonderful. This, was the start of the next level of their relationship. From here on, they were a couple.

Act 10: You Are NOT Her...

It has been nearly a year now since Cadence and Kenji had become a couple, and their relationship has remained strong. And nopony is happier for them than Celestia herself. Having approved the pair right on the spot when she found out. The couple never left one another’s side. Always happy, always smiling. Even Twilight was ecstatic to here they were getting married. Soon. She nearly exploded with joy knowing her favorite foal-sitter would be wedded to one of her favorite beings in all of Equestria. Little did everypony know, that things were not going to go according to plan...for both parties involved.

--The Day Of the Rehearsal--

Kenji walks along the castle courtyard with his hand rubbing against his chin. Something has been on his mind for a week now. Cadence has been acting...way off. She is usually flirt and playful, but now she has turned aggressive and demanding when it comes to receiving his affections. She has even turned on Twilight and Celestia if she even so much as sees him talking to the two of them. Is she afraid that he is seeking another mare? That is indeed not the case. Kenji has been loyal to nopony but Cadence and tends to keep it that way. But why has she changed so much? His thoughts were interrupted by her calling out to him.

“Can I take to you for a moment, dear?”

“Of course you can, Cadence. What do you wish to talk about?”

“It is about our wedding night…”

She said as she lightly runs a finger up and down his chest with a seductive grin.

“I do hope you have plenty of love to give me…”

“Of course I do...I love you more than anypony.”

He figured now was the time to confront her about her attitude.

“Though...I have been worrying about you for the passed week now. I understand that you may be nervous about our marriage. But there is no need to take it out on Tia and Twi.”

She glares at him in slight anger,pushing away from him.

“Why are you standing up for those two?”

“Because, Cadence. They are like family to me. Tia took me in and gave me a purpose. And I am like an older brother to Twi. I don’t know what has been going on with you. But you haven’t been you, lately. I miss the Cadence I knew. I hope your attitude adjusts by tomorrow. When the real wedding happens.”

He said as he turned and walked away from her. When he is going she growls lowly and stomps the ground, thoughts flowing through her head.

Why is he not falling under my spell? No matter when I use it, it doesn’t seem to work on him. It’s like a dark wall of...something is blocking my magic. Oh well, my plan is still forming nicely. I just need to keep him wrapped around my finger and he will be all mine…

--Later That Night--

Twilight walked along the street in the city. She was on her way to meet with Kenji to talk to him about something. As she walks in front of an alleyway, a large part of hands pull her into it and cover her mouth. She start flailing and screaming but hears the voice of Kenji.

“Sssh Twi...sorry for the sudden scare but this is the only place I can talk to you…”

He said as he slowly releases her and stands back from her. Twilight places a hand over her heart and breathes heavily for a few moments, having had the life scared out of her.

“Just...don’t do that again! That was scarey Ken!”

She said as she hit him in the chest, knowing it wouldn’t hurt him. He said and crouched down in front of his little sister.

“Listen Twi. You are an observant unicorn. Haven’t you noticed Cadence being a little more..I don’t know. Spiteful and aggressive towards you and Tia?”

Twilight eyes widen as she finally feels like she isn’t alone, she had been thinking the same thing ever since she had reunited with Cadence on the day that Kenji told her he was marrying her.

“I definitely know something is off Ken. She has been acting so mean to the other girls as well…”

He nodded in agreement.

“I have been watching her. And something is...off about her aura. It is usually such a beautiful light blue color. But now...it’s this toxic green. Twi...my dark chi is stirring. And when it does...it means something bad is coming. I...don’t think that is the Cadence I fell in love with. Not my Cadence…”

She nodded again, feeling the exact same way as he did.

“We will continue the wedding as planned. But...I will be doing something I never ever thought I would do in all of my life…”

Twilight gasps at his next words, eyes filling with tears as she heard those brutal words against Cadence. He kneels down and places a hand on her shoulder.

“Twilight, I know that isn’t Cadence. I don’t know what she is. But that is not the mare I fell in love with.”

“H-how...can you be so sure.”

“Because, her and I have something we always say to each other that we have kept secret from anyone. Something we have been planning to say during our wedding vows. If she can’t even remember any of it. Then I will know that it is not her. We have planned things like this if things...happened.”

“So very clever, big brother...alright, I agree with your plan. We will proceed like nothing happened.”

“Good girl. Now, go and get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow. And something tells me...it’s going to get bad…”

--The Next Day, The Wedding--

It was a beautiful day to hold a wedding. Clear skies, birds chirping and happy faces all around. Gathering in the throne room were nobles and non-nobles alike, there to see the Princess Of Love and her guardian marry and become one. Kenji and Twilight however were only acting the part..for now anyways. As Cadence comes in, the birds that Fluttershy worked with began to sing their song. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo came down the aisle as flower fillies.. It was truly a wonderful wedding to behold. If only she was the real mare he fell in love with. But now, was that moment of truth. Kenji begin to speak to her in a loving tone.

“Cadence...I shall always count on you to sooth the darkness that stirs within my soul. That your warm and loving light will keep me from becoming corrupted…”

“Of course my love.”

That was it. She had failed the test horribly. He looks between the crowd and Celestia who blink at the change in his facial features and the dark tone in his voice.

“Who are you?”

“W-What?”

“I asked...who are you?”

“Dear it’s me,Cade-...”

She was quickly cut off by the large hand wrapped around her throat and lifted into the air, his hands squeezing tight around the imposter’s windpipe.

“Where...is...she? You are not MY Cadence...you have no right to speak her name! WHat have you done with her?!”

He yelled out in a low growl as he squeezed harder. The crowd gasping in horror at the sight before them, Celestia shocked beyond words at what was going on.

“Kenji, release her at once-!”

“Shut up, Tia! This is not Cadence!”

“That’s right! I am Cadence!”

Shouted the princess of Love who entered the throne room along with Twilight. They had both looked beaten and battered. Kenji, seeing this grew even more angry. And threw down the fake Cadence, hard.

“Impossible! How can their be two Cadences?!”

Applejack said in disbelief, her and the other”s eyes widening in total shock at what is happening.

“She is a changeling! She takes the form of the one you love most and drains you of your love for them! She kidnapped me and threw me and Twilight into the caverns below the castle!”

Kenji was pissed now, that dark chi starting to radiate from his body intensely. He glares down at the fake Cadence and cracks his knuckles.

“Ha, it doesn’t matter! My children now roam the city, feeding off the love this kingdom is filled with. And we will take it from all of you. I may not have control of your fiance, but you are too late to save yourselves!”

She said with a wicked laugh, taking her true form after having revealed her plan. But that wasn’t bothering Kenji. The fact he took Cadence from him and harmed her had his blood boiling and his dark chi radiating from his body.

“I...am going to kill you. I am going to squeeze every single bit of life out of your body for what you did to her!!” he yelled as he leaped into the air and pounced on top of the changeling queen. She had little time to react before his large hand wraps around her throat. He wraps his other hand around her wings and begins to pull on the with hatred. A dark red glow coming from his eyes as he does so. This was someone precious that she tried to take away from him, and he was going to make her suffer in a way that any Gon like himself would.

“AAAAHH,MY WINGS, STOP IT NOW!!!”

She screamed in absolute pain. Kicking and thrashing about as he continues to choke the life out of her. And with a sickening rip, her wings came loose and were tossed away like garbage. Everyone in the room cowered in fear of the angered giant. Gasps and screams as panic began. They all started running out the door in droves, trying to get away from the angered monster. After he had removed her wings, he carried her out onto the balcony and hung her over the edge by her neck still

“That’s right, cry you bitch. How many times did Cadence cry out for me huh?”

The only response he got was spit to the face. His response however, was more brutal. He reaches up and begins to pull at her horn,slowly removing it from her skull.

“ HOW MANY TIMES DID SHE CALL OUT FOR ME?!”

He yelled with a dark growl in his voice. The sky began to darken and rain fell from the sky. Lightning and thunder made itself present as he squeezed Chrysalis’ throat even harder.

“Please...not my horn...don’t take that from me…”

“You don’t deserve to have anything! You pissed off the wrong being here today! And now, I will take what you don’t want taken…”

With a flick of his wrist, the horn comes off with a sickening snap. He crushes it within his grip and looks at her with a wicked glare.

“Fall to your death. I have someone who doesn’t need to seem me as a murderer. The ground will do that for me.”

He loosens his grip until she falls out of his hand. She falls screaming, but fortunate for her, her children catch her in time. They glare at Kenji and growl, but their queen whispers out.

“No...retreat...everyone back to the nest…”

She said before she passes out from the pain he had inflicted upon her body. Kenji turns and walks towards the exit, his scythe appearing in his hand. He drags the blade across the ground and growls an inhuman growl.

“She is going to be missing a few of her children…”

“Kenji stop! It’s done, she is gone please!”

Cadence said as she wrapped her arms around him, begging him to stop.

“Let go of me, Cadence.”

He said sternly

“No! Please just stop! I know what she did was unforgivable! But she is gone! Please Kenji, don’t let this take hold of you! You promised, you promised!!”

She repeated the last part as tears fell from her eyes. She held onto him as tightly as she could while saying this.

“Come back Kenji! Come back to the sweet and gentle man I love!”

She called out as her horn began to glow brightly. The light enveloped Kenji immediately. Beginning to beat down the dark chi that radiated from him. He grabbed at his head and fell to his knees, his large scythe falling to the ground with a loud echo throughout the throne room.

“I love you, Kenji, I love you, I love you!”

She repeated this over and over as her magic worked on him. Eventually, the dark chi retreated back into his body and he was brought back from his gon rage. Falling to his hands.

“Cadence...I...I…”

“I am here Kenji...I am here”

She said between sobs as she held herself close to him.

“What...have I just done…? What was I going to do…?”

“Please Kenji...just please don’t think about it anymore. All that matters is I am here now.”

She said as she crawled in front of him and placed her hands on his cheeks gently, locking eyes with him.

“I am sorry..I am sorry I did not know what happened. I failed you..I failed to be there for you when you needed me the most…”

She shakes her head and caresses his cheeks with her thumbs, tears still flowing from her eyes as he was now beating himself up.

“Kenji….stop this. I knew you would figure out something was wrong. I knew you wouldn’t fall under the control of her magic. Your heart and mind are too strong to fall for some changeling magic. And I know...that you remember our vows…”

“Cadence...I shall always count on you to sooth the darkness that stirs within my soul. That your warm and loving light will keep me from becoming corrupted…”

“...Kenji, I know that with all my heart, you will always be my savior, my love, my one and only. And that when I seek comfort and protection. Your arms will always grant me those things.”

She said with a weak smile, tears still flowing from her eyes

“I love you, Cadence.”

“And I you, my sweet guardian and love.”

I know I may have jumped on their marriage too soon, but this mean i get to tell THEIR story now. Since they will be taking over the crystal empire, it is time for my imagination to get to work on create what i can. Maybe even a new enemy!

Act 11: Two Monsters Of Darkness

This was a bad time indeed for the land of Equestria. A forgotten empire that was sealed away, has now resurfaced, and along with it, the monstrous tyrant that ruled it with no mercy. Cadence and Kenji had been sent to the empire to take charge, as Celestia had named Cadence the new ruler of the Crystal Empire. Once there, Cadence immediately took leadership and has been using her magic to keep the former king out of the kingdom until the issue could be resolved without the use of her magic.. But it hasn’t been easy, With her magic constantly in use, she has got exhausted, lost her appetite and just all around close to running out of magic. Kenji has been there to support her all the way, but it was time some help had come in. Twilight and her friends, by order of Celestia have come to the empire in order to help them. After some extensive research. Twilight found out that there is a way to combat King Sombra to making his way back to the throne. But even with all this, Kenji couldn’t shake the feeling that something was going to happen. Something very bad. And it involved him directly.

--Balcony Of The Crystal Castle--

“Come on Cadence..hang in there just a little longer...I am sure Twi and the others will figure something out…”

He said as he cradled the alicorn in his arms lovingly, gently caressing her cheek with a look of concern on his face. She smiled weakly up at him. She was so very tired.

“I know Kenji...but, my magic is fading quickly...I can’t...I can’t…”

Kenji shakes his head and lightly presses his forehead against hers.

“I am here. Come on, don’t give up. Soon this will all be over and you can sleep as long as you want. I will make sure that you aren’t disturbed…”

He said trying to lighten the mood for her, even if it just a little bit. Kenji looks up and notices black crystal jutting out of the highest tower of the castle, his gut turning at a very bad feeling that something has gone horribly wrong with this plan that twilight had had. And to make it worse. Cadence’s magic has finally given out, the barrier was gone and King Sombra was now in the empire, terrorizing every citizen as he made his way back to the castle to claim his prize. Kenji wasn’t going to let this monster touch his wife though. He gently lays Cadence down and looks to Twilight’s friends.

“Girls...what over her for me will you? I need to go and settle things. I will not let him harm her or any of these ponies here.”

Cadence reaches out with a weak hand and worried eyes.

“Kenji….please you can’t take him on alone…”

Kenji gently takes her hand into his and lightly squeezes it, giving her a warm smile and loving gaze.

“I have to try, Cadence. And...if things should get bad. All I ask is you don’t look.”

When he said that, it only worried her even more. What did he mean by ‘don’t look’? What was he planning? Before she could ask that very same question, he leaps off the balcony and lands in the courtyard, unsheathing his weapon from his back and standing in front of Sombra who had made his way there.

“Hmmm, what kind of creature are you then?” You certainly are not one of my crystal slaves. But you look like you might be useful for something once I kill the crystal princess and take over again…”

He said in his deep gravelly voice, a wicked grin and glare on his face as he looks Kenji up and down.

“I won’t let you lay a hand on my wife, Sombra. You will have to kill me first.”

He laughs and flies in close to Kenji, his eyes meeting his.

“Why do you even care for them? You aren’t one of us. I can the fear in your mind, boy. You are afraid of betrayal. To be left alone with no one. And I can see hatred brew within your soul...darkness and corruption fight to surface and take you over.”

Kenji was having issues fighting the magic that Sombra was using on him. It wasn’t like Chrysalis. Sombra was targeting Kenji’s deepest weakness and fear, betrayal. And it was working. Kenji grabs at his head as his eyes change colors, his sclera turning toxic green and his pupils dark red as the dark magic began to take hold of his mind, it all happened so face that he didn’t have time to jump back or look away. Cadence however, was looking on as she knew exactly what was happening. Her heart sank as she knew that Sombra’s magic was targeting his greatest fear. This was bad news for every pony there, including Sombra. By tapping into Kenji’s fears, he may have just triggered the monster that Cadence would have never wanted to see.

--Inside Kenji’s Mind--

Kenji looks around as he stands in a barren wasteland. Dark clouds and sandy wind blowing against him.

“Where..am I? Cadence? Twi?”

He turns to see them walking away from him. He reaches out to them and calls them out again.

“Hey..where are we? I remember Sombra and-”

“Get away from us you monster. Go find some place to rot away.”

Said Twilight as she backs away from him.

“Yes, get out of here...you don’t belong in this world,much less with me. I never truly loved you. How could I? You aren’t even a pony. You are a freak, a monster. An abomination. Who could ever love you?”

Kenji’s heart dropped at the words that came from Cadence’s mouth. They both turned and walked away from him, vanishing into the sandy wind, leaving him alone. Kenji fell to his knees, grabbing his head as words echoed around him.

Monster...

Killer…

No one cares for you…

You do not deserve to be happy…

You are alone…

Kenji screams out in anguish as the words haunt him over and over, tears pouring out of his eyes in his mind and in in the real world.

--Outside Of Kenji’s Mind--

Sombra laughs as he sees the suffering that Kenji has been through, and his fears play out.

“And just think...I am going to take away the very ponies you hold dear, starting with your princess and then that nuisance of a unicorn who tried to steal the crystal heart. I will spit their blood right in front of you.”

Cadence screams out to get Kenji’s attention. Tears flowing from her eyes.

“Kenji! Whatever you are seeing it isn’t true! Snap out of it!”

Sombra growls and leaps up and pushes Cadence down onto the balcony floor by her neck.

“There is nothing you can do, my dear crystal princess. Soon your beloved monster will be alone, and his nightmare will become a reality once I slit your pretty throat and claim my throne once again. As for the unicorn mare...let’s just say I plan to have my way with her till she loses all will and hope. I like to break my sex slaves…”

Cadence struggles weakly, already sensing a change in Kenji, even though she couldn’t see him. His dark corrupted chi was taking hold while his mind was being attacked.

“You have just awakened something that could be our end...including yours…”

Right on cue, a dark hulking figure leaps up onto the balcony. Sombra turns around to find Kenji radiating with dark chi, and it was bad. It was like a raging fire had consumed his body. Kenji’s veins were bulging from his body, they were solid black. His eyes changed to a black sclera with a iris that was a mixture of dark purple, crimson red, and fiery orange. Black and purple jagged spines along his arms, back and legs, and sharp tendrils that flailed about seeking a target to destroy. Kenji didn’t even give Sombra a chance to speak, before he jumped over to him and grabbed him by the throat and threw him off the balcony. Cadence did as Kenji had asked. She closed her eyes when he approached and ripped Sombra away from her. Sombra screamed as he flew through the air and landed on the ground hard, grunting in pain as a few of his ribs break from the impact. Kenji jumps back down in front of Sombra. He was breathing heavily and growling. Steam coming from his breath

“Liars...betrayers...they all must die!!!”

Kenji screamed as he lunged at Sombra with great speed. Sombra himself makes a sword appear in his hand and gets ready to fight the now true corrupted form of Kenji. Once Kenji made contact with Sombra’s sword with one of his spines, the fight was on. There was nothing by two motions of pure blackness as the two fought it out, landing one hit after another on each other.

“It looks like I underestimated you! I should have killed you when your mind was still lost!”

Kenji only responded with inhuman growls and roars. The tendrils behind him swinging around and lashing at Sombra as he also had to avoid the sharp spines along Kenji body. That dark fiery chi aura continuing to flow about like a massive bonfire. Cadence could bare it no longer, she opens her eyes to see what had become of Kenji, and what she saw put the greatest amount of sadness in her heart. He was now a beast of pure darkness and hatred. Because of what Sombra had done to his mind. He was really a true monster

“Kenji..no…”

She said as she started crying again. Seeing her beloved in such a state absolutely broke her heart. And to see him become so bloodthirsty and violent. This was even worse than with Chrysalis. Suddenly, the fight was now drawing to a close. Sombra was losing strength, he had been locked away for so long that his power diminished greatly. And just like that, he slips and makes a mistake that will cost him everything. He gets in too close to Kenji, which allows his tendrils to impale Sombra through his torso, arms and legs. Normally he would just use his smoke form to get out of situations like this, but...something wasn’t letting him. He lets out a scream of pain as the tendrils rip and tear through his body, blood spewing from his mouth as Kenji rips him apart from the inside.

“You...think you know true darkness? You only prey on those who have great fears...but when you find out they have darkness that is more potent than yours...look where that has you now…”

Kenji said as he began to slowly start ripping Sombra’s body apart, the flesh tearing and blood spilling onto the ground in massive puddles.

“You are right...I am a monster. Because you drove me to become one. And now, your life you be the one to sate the monster. Because of you. My beloved had to witness this form, something I never wanted her to see.”

Sombra grunts in pain and speaks his last words.

“You...are more of a monster than I.”

“I have to be, to protect my loved ones from those like you…”

And with that, Sombra’s body splits into two halfs. Blood flowing from the now split corpse of the dark king. Kenji tosses the two separate pieces of the body to the ground. He looks up at Cadence who was looking at him in horror, but at the same time worry.

“I told you not to look…”

“I-I know you did...but I couldn’thelp it. What he was doing to you. I Couldn't…”

“I know Cadence. But what he did may have been good for this in some way. Why I wasn’t in control of...what you see as I am now before. It has actually opened up full control of my corrupted chi. I become this...hideous thing before you. I told myself...if it is to save you and those I cared for. I will become a real monster and kill those who threaten my loved ones.”

Cadence reaches out to him weakly, wanting him to be near her again.

“I don’t care...I just want my Kenji back…”

“Even though you have seen me in this grotesque form?”

“It doesn’t matter Kenji...I love you. Always have and always will...please come to me so that I may see the gon I married and will always cherish each and everyday.”

“Kenji jumps up back onto the balcony and picks up the exhausted alicorn in his arms, she reaches up and caresses his face gently and places her horn against his forehead, a bright light surrounds them both as it starts to turn Kenji back to normal.

“I love you Kenji...no matter what you become, I will always be here to bring you back…”

“I Know Cadence...I love you to…”

Act 12: Some VERY Needed Alone Time

After having defeated and killed off Sombra. Things died down to a peaceful state. The crystal heart was back where it belonged, The ponies of the Crystal Empire were as happy as ever to no longer be under the reign of the dark tyrant. And welcomed Princess Cadence happily as the new Crystal Princess. Luckily, during that fateful battle, nopony saw what Kenji looked like when his corrupted form took him over. Well, nopony but Cadence and the others that were with him at the time. But at least the citizens didn’t know. But he knew eventually, the beast would come out again if the kingdom, or especially Cadence for that matter was threatened again. Unfortunately, the past few days have interfered with the new couple’s honeymoon. But all that was about to change

--Cadence’s And Kenji’s Bedroom--

“We...are really returning back there?”

Asked Kenji as he was helping his wife choose what bikini to wear. Geez..dejavu. Cadence nodded happily, bouncing up and down a bit as she answered.

“Mhmm! Auntie Tia said that everything will be taken care of for a week sowe will get to spend some time with each other. After all, a wife needs to make sure her husband has all the attention in the world…”

She said as she came around the bed he was sitting on and straddles over his lap. Locking eyes with him lovingly and locking their lips together. Kenji leans into the kiss and runs his fingers through her mane gently.Showing his one and only pony his affections. They break the kiss after a while and stare into each other’s eyes longingly.

“I love you Kenji...so very very much…”

She said as she rested her head on his chest and nuzzled into it. Kenji continues to run his fingers through her mane. How could Kenji, a man who has had nothing but ill luck and hardships become so happy? Was he finally cashing in after for so long? He certainly felt like he was.

“And I love you, Cadence. Never ever would I have seen myself being married. Especially to royalty. It’s...pretty crazy actually.”

She giggles lightly and noses him gently, staring up into his strange, but beautiful eyes.

“You never know what life will throw your way,my sweet gon. I certainly didn’t expect to marry you either. All the time we spent together...all the laughs we share, the tears we cried. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. And I know, now that you are mine. I will always have you forever. As an alicorn’s lover and husband, you now share in my immortality. We are forever bound in the eyes of Faust.

Kenji chuckles lightly.

“Immortality huh? That’s gonna take some getting used to…”

Cadence nods, but reaches up and caresses his cheek.

“I will be here with you every step of the way though. You will never be alone ever again…”

She said as she rested her head on his chest again, enjoying his warmth and love for her. That sat like that for about ten minutes. Cadence listening to his heartbeat, she didn’t want to pull away, but knew their train would be leaving in an hour.

--Crescent Island Castle--

Kenji remembers it like it as only yesterday. The memory of a younger Cadence running along with him along the beach and just enjoying life came into his view. He could also see himself walking along with her. Cadence see the look in his eyes and couldn’t help but giggle at him.

“Takes me back to. Who knew we would be here again, as a couple.”

She said as she wraps her arms around his right one, ample breasts squishing against him as she looks up at him with bedroom eyes.

“I hope you are ready my love. Tonight is the night...I show you why I am the princess of love. I will make sure that you are well taken care of.”

She said as she nuzzles into his arms. Kenji’s heartbeat was now kicking it at one-hundred miles per hour. He was very excited...but at the same time nervous as all hell. Kenji breathes in and exhales slowly.

“It's not that I know I won’t enjoy our first session of loving making. ANd I am sure that we will be rutting before we sleep and after we wake everyday. I just...I am worried that I may hurt you is all. I have told you about how my kind are when it comes to such things.”

Cadence nods.

“I am not as fragile as i look silly man. If I couldn’t take my husband to bed and satisfy him. I wouldn’t be a very good wife. Don’t you worry sweetheart. Your princess has it all figured out.”

She said as she lowered her eyes between his legs, licking her lips with intent.

“I have fought through too many heats to last much longer...And I want what’s mine…”

For a gon,Kenji was just a bit above average when it came to his genitals, but for a pony...well it’s going to be quite something. Cadence has seen her lover naked before. “I would love to go back...on one condition. I get to return back to you and your loving arms once my business is done there. But if I can never return,that’s fine with me. Because I have all I need with you right by my side. You, Tia, Twi and all my other friends. There is nothing more I could ever want.”

Those words made Cadence’s heart melt. The fact that even if he had a chance to go back to his world or not, he would prefer to day here with her. This only made her love for the gon stronger, reassuring the bonds that held their love together tenfold.

“Oh my sweet kenji...promise me...you will never leave my side.”

“I promise you Cadence. Always and forever. I belong to noone but you. And honestly, I wouldn’t want anyone else anyways.”

He added a slight chuckle near the end of that.

“You are adorable, sexy, affectionate and caring. Traits I value in a wife. And you possess them all. I can say I am the luckiest gon in the universe...even though I am the only one here...but still!”

Cadence could only push her chest out in pride as he talked about her fondly. A happy alicorn she was. They continued to walk along the beach, just enjoying one another’s company as the wind gently blew past them. They talked and talked, eventually finding a nice shady tree to sit and cuddle up under. Cadence sat between his legs and rested her back against his chest, all the while Kenji reaches up and begins to massage her shoulders and wing joints carefully. He knew what made her feel good and was only to happy to see that goofy smile she gave when he massaged her, along with those beautiful fluttering eyes of hers.

Kenji laughs lightly, continuing to massage her wings with firm but gentle rubbing

“Well, good thing you don’t have to worry about that outcome huh?”

Cadence nodded and wiggles her rear in his lap. Kenji lets out a small grunt as he feels that wonderful rear of her rubbing against his member.

“And I will definitely be returning the favor.”

Act 13: A New Threat From The Skies

This day was like any other. Kenji walked about the castle making sure things were in order, and his wife, Cadence was in the throne room, being all royal and regal and such. The gon eventually made his way out of the castle and into the streets of the city. He walked by many of the citizens who smiled and waved to him, he in turn did the same. He said as he sat Cadence down and grabbed his weapon from his back. Soon enough, the ceiling of the throne room was broken in by a large azure blue and red dragon. It’s fierce green eyes directly focused on Cadence. It then looked down at Kenji with a dark glare.

“I have come for the crystal princess. I demand you hand her over or I will kill any of you will little ponies who get in my way…”

He said with a loud bellowing voice that shook the walls. Kenji looked up at the large beast and laughed.

“Uuum..sorry bud, she has already been spoken for, and married. I hold both of those honors. I can’t let you just fly out of here with her..”

“No to mention, I am not the easiest to capture, thanks to what my dear husband here has taught me.”

She said as she disappeared in a bright light, only to appear in battle ready armor and a halberd in her right hand. That’s right, ever since their honeymoon had ended, Kenji took it upon himself to teach his wife how to properly use a weapon. And she took to a halberd like a fish to water. Amazing what hidden abilities the princess of love possesses.

“Hmm, this was not foreseen by the elder. No matter, I will take you to him in pieces if i have to.”

He said before reaching up and swinging his razor sharp claws down at them both, only to have them both leap away. Kenji looked over to Cadence with a wicked smile, only to have her return one back.

“Dragons are such cocky bastards, let cut this one down to size, shall we my love?”

“My dear princess of love condoning violence? Unheard of!”

And thus, the battle began. The couple charged at the beast with full force. The dragon came down at Kenji first, swiping it’s claws again at him, but this time, the gon took hold of the dragon’s wrist in his arms and squeezed tightly, letting out a mighty roar and he swings the dragon over his shoulder and slamming him onto his back with force, the floor crumbling below the heavy impact. The dragon was in complete shock as to how a being much smaller than him was able to even bring him on his back.

“What the?! You shouldn’t have this much strength, you puny creature!”

He growled in annoyance. Kenji laughed wickedly.

“Oh come now, I have faced larger than you back from my own world. Granted they were twice as powerful than you and I worked with other mercs. But you? You are just a small fry compared to them, And if it was just me fighting you, you would indeed be a challenge. But I am not alone!”

After saying that, Cadence swooped down in flight and ran her halberd’s blade directly up the dragon’s soft underbelly. The beast began writhing in pain as his sensitive scales were pierced. Kenji jumps away from dragon and readies his weapon for his own blow to the monster. Luckily, the guard came in to help as well, landing any hits they could to weaken the dragon. Eventually, the dragon was actually feeling threatened> He proceeded to lift into the air and fly off. Kenji chuckled lightly and gripped his weapon tight.

“My love, if use please.”

“Of course.”

She said all to eagerly. She quickly makes her way behind him and grabs hold of him from behind. He crouches and leaps into the air, they take off in flight.. Reaching the airborne dragon in no time, Cadence releases Kenji onto the back of the dragon.

“Get off me!!”

He shouted in anger, swaying and wiggling about in the air, trying to throw Kenji off of him. But he held on. He wasn’t going to waste this opportunity. Just below them was a large valley full of nothing but sharp jagged large crystals.

“Sorry big guy. I can’t exactly let you return with the information you have to your boss. You see it would ruin the surprise should he get off his lazy ass and come here himself. That said…”

He brings his weapon up and swings it down like a knife through butter, severing the right wing first and then the left with the same quick motion. The dragon lets out a roar of pain as his wings fall from his body and into the valley below.

“You...haven’t seen the last of us. My brethren will avenge my death with you own...I promise!”

Kenji chuckled lightly.

“As long as i have Cadence and those I care about to fight for, I will not die easily.”

He said as he leaps off the dragon’s body, the force of his legs making the beast plummet even faster now. Cadence flies up behind him, taking hold of him once more and began making their way back to the castle. Once there, the citizens and guards started cheering for them both. Even though it was most for Cadence, but he didn’t mind at all.

“You were amazing out there Cadence. Pretty awesome being a warrior princess isn’t it?”

“I am not going to lie Kenji...that was...exhilarating!”

Act 14: A Visit Back To Where It All Began

The train pulled up to the Canterlot station, the rail screeching lightly as the train comes to a stop and the steam comes from the engine. Once at a stop the doors open up. Kenji and Cadence both walk out, greeted by the royal guard along with Twilight and her friends. She smiles widely and runs to them both, wrapping her arms around them.

Kenji, Cadence! I have missed both of you so so much!”

“Uh..Twi? When did you get these?”

He said as he lightly tugged on them. She giggled lightly and clung to him with a happy sigh. Happy that he was here to witness a special occasion. She gently pulls on his large hand along with Cadence’s, leading them to the castle.

“You will find out tomorrow. But first, we should get you both settled in. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are both waiting for you.”

Kenji blinks a few times, wondering exactly what it is they two rulers of Equestria wanted him for. Once they were in the castle.Twilight had Kenji go to the throne room while she kept Cadence company. They just did catching up mostly, talked mare stuff. Once he was in the throne room and the doors were closed. He walks up the red carpet up to the amazonian alicorns and drops to a knee, greeting them both like he would even before he and Cadence became an item. But that smiled down at him and shook their head.

“Rise to your feet, Kenji. You no longer have to do that in front of us. You are a member of our family now. And it is so very good to see you.”

Celestia said as she walked down to him and wraps him in a gentle hug, Luna doing so as well. He blinks a few times, but smiles and returns the hugs to them.

“So I guess this means I get to call you Tia and Lulu now?”

They both giggle, nodding to him in response.

“Indeed it does. And I am sure you won’t mind us calling you Ken either?”

“Naaah, Twi calls me that all the time. She is pretty much family too. So I see no reason you can either.”

“Excellent. Now, onto the matters at hand. We have called you and Cadence here for a happy occasion that is happening tomorrow. But we need to speak with you directly for something else. It is...an urgent matter that we feel may be happening in the coming months. We aren’t sure, but we believe a mighty foe will be returning. And we will not know exactly when your where he will strike first. All we ask is you remain by Cadence’s side as you have always been doing. And keep her safe.”

Kenji chuckles lightly and places a hand on both their heads gently.

“Come on now. I wouldn’t be a very good husband if I didn’t keep my wife safe. You should know I would never ever let anything bad happen to her. Besides, with the Chrysalis out of commission, she was the only enemy i needed to worry about. I am sure with this one, I will have no issues at all. I am a gon after all. But, since I am here, Would you mind leading me down to the dungeons where you held me when i first came here?”

Celestia and Luna look at one another and simply asked.

“Why?”

He smiled a nostalgic smile.

“Just take me there, please?”

They hesitate but nod. When they come out, both Cadence and Twilight were waiting on them. They walk up to Kenji’s sides and look up at him.

“Where are we going?”

They both asked. Kenji just chuckled...

“Back to where this whole thing began.”

Cadence knew exactly what he was talking about, she wrapped her arms around his own and held close to him, nuzzling into him lovingly.

“Then I am going with you…”

“I hoped you’d come.”

They traveled through the courtyard and down into the dungeon. As they got closer to where Kenji was held for a time, shivers went up and down Kenji’s, Cadence’s, and Celestia’s backs. This feeling came and went until they actually made it to the cell he was kept in. He walks into it after ducking a bit to go in. Cadence following in closely behind. The cold, dark dampness of the room was all too familiar. And those same chains that bound the large man still laid there. He walked over and picked them up. He couldn’t help but chuckle.

“You know Tia, I could have broken out of these chains anytime back then. I was simply biding my time until the right opportunity was right…”

“I had a feeling that was the case. None of the prisoners were as calm and as quiet as you were, Kenji. I knew you would have no issue breaking out.”

“...But then you sent Cadence in there with me. I honestly wasn’t sure what you were thinking when sending in a filly when you knew the damage i could have done.”

He then looks down at Cadence and drops the chains. He kneels down in front of her and gently takes her hands into his, the couples’ gazes locking with one another. Cadence loved it when he looked at her like this, so full of love and want. It made the mare happy beyond comparison.

“That day you sent her in, changed my plans, however. The more and more time I spent with her, the more time I wanted. I know I wasn’t really allowed to feel that way publicly So I kept it locked up. And years later…”

He squeezes her hands a bit firmer, lightly running his thumbs on the top of them.

“...Here we are now. Husband and wife. Something I never thought that’d be possible for me. I love you Cadence, with all of my heart. And I wouldn’t be what I am today if you hadn’t come into my life.”

Celestia, Luna, and Twilight let out a collective ‘Aaawwww~’ as they heard his words. All Cadence could do was keep from tearing up from the happiness she felt in her heart right now. She quickly wraps her arms and his neck and buries her muzzle into it, nuzzling him affectionately.

“I love you too, Kenji! So so much! I don’t think my life could have ever been complete without you in it! I..I knew you had feelings for me at the start. And I knew you hid them because of what others might have thought. And that you were being professional. But... it didn’t stop you from being my best of friends. And the day we married, I know my dream had finally come true. You became my husband, and my best friend all in one.”

Kenji wrapped his arms around her loving, bringing one of his hands to her mane and runs his fingers through it gently. The other three alicorns clearly a bit jealous that they didn’t have someone who showed them love like Kenji did to Cadence. All three agreeing that Cadence was one lucky mare.

--The Next Day After The Coronation--

“Wow, Twi...had I known that you had become a princess now. I would have brought you a present.”

Said Kenji as he crossed his arms with a grin.

He said as he ruffled her mane playfully, the mare closing one of her eyes with a smile. She gently pushes his hand away before looking up at him.

“Well, I can promise I won’t go a little overboard. But I won’t let it change who I am. Especially when I have you and five other friends to keep me in line. Speaking of which…”

Rainbow suddenly flies up to Kenji and punches him in the arm with a grin.

“Hey there big guy, long time no see! How is life in the Crystal Empire treating ya?!”

He chuckles and pats the cyan blue pegasus on the head.

“It’s been pretty sweet actually. Being married to a princess is pretty awesome, not gonna lie. Especially you both share the same love for one another. Back where i come from, most marriages happen for mutual gain…..always hated that idea.”

“What kinda world would force two ponies together in unwanted marriage? Ah don’t think that should ever happen…”

Said Applejack as she clearly opposed to the idea as well. Fluttershy comes up to him and wraps her arms around him in a gentle hug, giving him that adorable smile she always gave to him.

“I am very happy to see you again, Kenji.”

She said before Pinkie jumped onto his back with a big grin, bouncing against him.

“So you ARE gonna be at the party I have planned tonight, riiiiiight?”

She asked with her nose pressed against his, those big blue eyes practically staring into his soul. He laughs and gently pushes her back down, giving her a nod.

“Yes Pinkie, I will be there. You throw the best parties after all.”

He stood around them all, the others speaking with him and greeting him with warm hugs. Cadence was feeling a little jealous that her husband was being showered with affection by other mares. But she knew it meant nothing. They had just missed him and haven’t seen him in quite some time. She knew that he belonged to her and only her, like she did to him. This was a nice day to be with old friends once more. Especially with Twilight’s coronation. Life was wonderful and peaceful. But how long would that peace last? Especially with a foe on the horizon? It didn’t matter. Kenji was ready for fight, especially for Cadence.

Act 15: Kenji Trains Cadence Further In Martial Arts

It was a beautiful evening in the kingdom of the Crystal Empire. It was cool and not a cloud in the sky to hide Luna’s beautiful work that she had begun just after Celestia had lowered the sun. That the very top of the castle, Kenji had himself sitting on the rooftop. The wind blew through his hair and around his body as he sat there as still as a statue. He was meditating and making sure that the balance of his chi was maintained and kept from fall out of balance. Not only that, he had to make sure that the dark chi in him grew as well, but not to lose control over it or the monster would emerge once more. As he meditated, the wind pulsed around him a light mixture of bright gold and dark purple chi swirled around him in the process. The meditation went on for about two hours. At this point, the chi swirling around him made him look like a burning wick that held a conflicting fire but at the same time, the fire was as calm as if there was no breeze, However, that meditation was interrupted by the sound of flapping wings and the familiar voice of his beloved wife.

“So this is where you have been mister ’Never takes a break from training.’. I had no idea where to find you until I saw the energy from below.”

The chi died down as Kenji broke concentration and opened his eyes. He falls back onto his back and brings his hands to his head with a light smile to Cadence. She smiles back and takes her place with her husband. She makes herself comfortable by straddling and sitting on him. He brings up a large hand and lightly caresses and rubs her cheek which she responds to by nuzzling it.

Kenji closed his eyes and gently places his hands on her back. Gently running them over her wings in the process which made her shudder. Kenji saw that her gaze was hopeful. He closed his eyes and thought about it.

“Learning how to use a weapon properly is one thing. But to utilize and properly control one’s chi takes a LOT of training and hard work. You have to go through both physical and mental training to master the flow through your chakras. Are you sure you want to go through such rigorous training, my love? I am telling you now, this will not be easy. But if you are willing to fully commit to this, I would be happy to teach you what I know. No magic at all? This worried Cadence a bit. She is an alicorn after all. And a great abundance of magic was her own real form of power. But at the same time, she trusted Kenji. She gave a firm nod. He gave a gentle smile and nodded back to her.

Then your first lesson begins now. I am going to explain what chakras are to you. For this information is vital to your future training.”

He reaches up and places his index finger on the tip of her head. She blinks at him confused but listens to him intently as he began to speak.

“This is the crown chakra, located at the tip of the head. Wisdom, transcendence, and universality are its functions. However, it is blocked by earthly attachments. In order to unlock this chakra, you will need to be willing to let go of what binds you to this world. Even if that includes me. I think this one will be the most difficult for you, just as it was for me. But I know that you will overcome it.”

He then brings his finger directly below her horn onto her forehead.

This is the third eye chakra. It deals with extrasensory perception, intuition, and inspiration. And it is blocked by illusion, vagaries of perception. Look past anything that is not real in your mind’s eye and you will master the flow of this chakra.”

He then places his finger gently against the middle of her throat.

“This is the throat chakra. Personal truth, etheric and expression are its functions, and is blocked by lies and doubts. The ones we tell ourselves. If you cannot trust yourself and be truthful. Then the flow of the chakra will stop and clog up.”

He then reaches down and places his finger right under her left breast against her ribcage. When he did this, he couldn’t help but smile and chuckle softly.

“This is the heart chakra. Its functions are compassion, love, and integration. And it is blocked by grief and loss.Any sadness that you have gained over the years, you must not let it hold you down and torment your mind and heart. You are the princess of love after all. So this chakra you have already mastered, even though you weren’t aware of it. And your love for all your friends, Celestia, and even me needs to flow freely.”

Cadence couldn’t help but smile at his words. That was one thing she didn’t have to worry about was love. She had many who loved her even more so since she had Kenji who she loved the most. He then places his finger on her stomach.

“This is your solar plexus chakra. It deals with willpower, social self and power and is blocked by shame. What are you ashamed of? What are your biggest disappointments? When you learn to fully accept these things, only then will the chakra flow.”

Next he slides his hand around and places his finger just above her tail base where the bottom of the spine is.

“This is the sacral chakra. It works with emotions, creativity, sexuality and it is blocked by guilt. Find out what you blame yourself for. For actions against others or even yourself. Once you release these and learn to forgive yourself. You are that much closer.”

He brings his hand down to one of her legs and gently rests it on a hoof. Giving it a gentle rub in the process.

“This is the root chakra. It deals with safety, grounding and right to live. And it is blocked by fear. Release your fears and let them flow away from you. Remember that you will always have someone to help with your fears. As long as you believe that, the energy will flow freely..”

He then reaches up and takes her hands into his and locks his gaze with hers She could see that he was worried about her with accepting the first one. After all, he was one of her earthly attachments. But she knew in her heart of hearts if she could do this. She wouldn’t have to worry about leaving him, nor him leaving her.

“Now, knowing all this. You will be going through not only physical, but mental and emotional stress through all this. Do you still wish to continue with the training? Once it begins, all seven chakras must be opened without stopping, or else your chi will become dysfunctional and throw your body off.”

Cadence thought and thought hard about it. But she is still determined to be able to be by his side both out and in battle.She squeezes his hands firmly and gives a nod of reassurance. Kenji looked deep into her eyes searching for her genuine response. And he certainly found it. In his heart, he was as happy as could be that she was willing to learn the way he was taught. And he was more than willing to teach her.

“Yes, Kenji. Please teach me so that I can learn this new form of centering oneself. And that I can get stronger as well. I shall take your teachings to heart, master.”

He blinked a few times as she called him ‘master’. He shook his head and ran his fingers through her mane gently.

“You do not have to call me master my love. I am your husband after all.”

“And now you are my teacher as well. So it is only fitting I call you master when you are training me. Or if you prefer, I can call you mentor. Or is there another term I should call you when training is going on?”

“Well, the proper term is ‘sifu’. But again, you don’t really have to call me that, silly girl.”

She giggles lightly and wraps her arms around his neck and hugs him closely, nuzzling into his chest in the process. She was worried about how all this would go, but her excitement outweighed her worries by far.

“Sifu Kenji. It has a nice ring to it actually. And to think of you as a teacher...it’s kind of arousing. I do hope after it is all over, you will reward me with what I desire from you. And you know what I want…”

She said as she gently caresses the inner part of his thigh with her left hand. Kenji couldn’t help but chuckle lightly at this and shake his head. He knows that she was serious and will do what it takes to get him to bed her. Not that he had no issues with it at all. But he’d definitely reward her once she had completed the training.

“We will begin your training starting Monday then. And be ready for a hard month. Because I know how you get when you are stressed. But I know it will be from the training. So I am prepared to be thrown out of the bedroom for as many times as it takes.”

“Oh you silly gon, it will not come to that, I am sure.”

--One LONG And Painful Month Later--

Kenji stood in front of Cadence with his arms crossed. Their eyes met for a brief moment before Kenji gave the go-ahead nod. Cadence took in a deep breath and concentrated hard on controlling her chi. She then lets out a mighty cry as she thrusts his hands forward and into Kenji’s chest. Kenji went flying back about twenty feet away from her. Just think if he hadn’t had his own chi naturally building itself up, she could have flung him much further. He regains his footing as he slides past a line that he had set out at the beginning of all this. After a long month of hard work and Kenji sleeping alone in one of the guest chambers, Cadence had finally learned how to control her chi and use it to bed her physical and mental prowess. Not only that, but her physical form has become more toned and well fit. Kenji couldn’t have been more proud of her with how far she has come along. He rises to his feet after stopping himself from sliding back and gives his wife a big smile and a nod of approval. He walks over to her and places a hand under her chin and lightly scratches.

“I knew you could do it my love. I know that crown chakra was difficult for you. But it’s all over now. And look how it has rewarded you. I did not sense one bit of magic from you and I am extremely proud of you. Truly. Now that this part of the training is over, it only gets easier from here. The more you maintain and control your chi every day, the more natural it will be for you to generate chi without having to collect it through meditation. But, you have completed the first part of your training nonetheless. After this second part. I will be giving you the reward you seek.”

She couldn’t help but sway her tail behind her in delight at his words of praise. Even more, so that he had been patient with ehr despite the stress and pain she had gotten and taken it out on him. All those nights she made him sleep in a separate room and the cold shoulders she gave him. She truly had the most wonderful husband a princess could ask for. And she felt even better than she had in years. She felt both stronger physically and mentally. She reaches up and wraps her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. She was as happy as the day him and she got married. She would finally be able to protect her love just as he had always protected her.

“I am glad I stuck with this! Thank you so very much sifu Kenji. And...I am sorry about the way I acted with you all during the month. I guess you knew it was going to happen though huh?”

He chuckles lightly and leans in and kisses her lovingly, running his fingers through her soft long mane in the process. He did indeed know. But that was stated that very night her lessons began. After they shared a brief moment of affection, he sets her down and walks over to a large boulder that sat on the ground along with another next to it. He suddenly powers up his chi slightly and takes hold of the boulder and tosses it into the air. He lets out a mighty gon roar as he leaps into the sky after it and takes his scythe and runs it through the rock cutting it in half and shattering it with a few more strikes. He then falls back to his feet and looks over at Cadence who seemed to be in awe and slightly aroused at his display of strength.

“When you can do that, your training will be complete.”

She blinks a few times and her jaw slowly drops. She had to do WHAT?!

“B-but you are a large and muscle-y gon! I know have come a long way but that’s asking me to do the impossible! I am nowhere as big or strong as you are!”

He walks up to her and leans forward with a taunting smile.

“Aawww, don’t tell me you have given up after seeing that my love. I knew a little lyn who could do the same thing with his sword and he turned out just fine. And if he could do it, so can you. I know you can do this, my love. And not to mention, the sooner you do it, the sooner you will get your rough romping in our bedchambers. Better get to it.” He said as he slapped her rear playfully.

“But for now, I say we go and get a nice hot bath. I would be happy to lather you up and make you feel good that way.”

She couldn’t be mad at him with an offer like that. She was quick to join him at his side and wrapped her arms around his right one as they made their way to the royal bath.

“You know I can’t say no to bath time with you my love…”

“I am well aware my beautiful princess.”

Prologue: The Familiar Pain Of Betrayal

Spring in the realm of Joong-Won was always a time of happiness in a world plagued by corruption of the demon lords. This story begins with a warrior that has been fighting to keep the ones who cannot fight safe from that very corruption. However, this warrior is about to learn that you aren’t always needed in the same realm that you were born in. And fate it seems, had a painful method of taking him from this world, and into another where he would be needed by others. They didn’t need him here, as much as he has done for others here. It was time that the young Gon was given something in return for his fierce determination and loyalty that could not be broken. And the new beings that he will come into contact with may fear him at first, but will realize that over time. If you have a Gon as a true friend, the bond will last a lifetime and even beyond.

This story begins on the white sandy beach of Bamboo Village, I nice little town that is a nice place to come to and unwind. On the beach, under a palm tree not too far from the water, lays a large and stout Gon with his eyes closed, having a little nap while he is on his off time from being a mercenary. He snores lightly, enjoying the peace and quiet, the sound of the waves brushing against the shore.

“Kenjiiiii!”

Shouts an adorable young sounding voice, the sound of small but quick footsteps getting closer as the one they belonged to approached.

“Ugh, napping again?! Wake up lazy bones!”

Said the small but sassy lyn that was his traveling companion and long time friend. Kenji opens an eye and looks up at her.

“Come on Yue , we aren’t on a job right now. I am gonna relax here and enjoy the beach as I always do when we come here.”

“Don’t give me that, mister. You always come straight here when we get to this village. I thought we were going to head to Everdusk when we got here for the festival happening tonight!”

“And we are, Yue. But as you can see, it is the middle of the afternoon. Don’t worry,we will go and you will be able to stuff your face like you always do, plenty of sweets for that neverending void that is your stomach.”

She huffs and crosses her arms at him, she climbs up onto his chest and sits on it.

“Hey, it’s not my fault that sweets are my weakness!”

“And with how much of it you eat, I am surprised you still weight as light as you do. I am sure all the ladies are jealous of that.”

“It doesn’t even matter anyways...even males of my kind prefer females with...assets that even fully matured lyn females will never get.”

Kenji brings a hand up and lightly pets Yue on the head.

“Come on Yue. I am sure you will find a wonderful guy who will just adore you and love you more than you could ever imagine. And as your friend,I will always be there for you,should he ever betray your and hurt you. I will rip his limbs off and beat him with them.”

Yue was a lyn of twenty-one years of age, only a year younger than Kenji. Because of their faces and physique, lyn are prone to look more childish than anything. Eternal youth, no matter how old they got. Sure the males grew beards when they became elderly, but the females could stay looking young for ages and ages. But that was a downside when it came to finding someone who they can attract.

Yue grumbled at the petting, feeling that large hand run across her head, but at the same time, he was gentle, she didn’t admit it, but she loved it when he petted her. She pushes his hand away from her and sighs.

“I know you will always be there for me Kenji...and you put up with me on a daily basis. Always nagging at you to do this and that. And all you do is simply smile. You are too good of a friend for me to deserve.”

“Come on Yue, don’t get all sappy on me now. Go on, go enjoy some time to yourself. The festival isn’t until a few hours now. Go and relax at the hot springs, make yourself pretty for tonight. I bet you that you will find a guy that you can get wrapped around your little finger.”

She goes quiet for a moment, but nods to him.

“Alright, until then Kenji, see you soon.”

“Indeed, see you soon Yue.”

Yue slides off of him and walks away. She lowers her head and clenches her fists in front of her as she does, she was planning something,but had conflicting feelings about it.

--Everdusk, Festival Of Spirits 8PM--

Kenji and Yue both walk side by side on their way to the festival, all was quiet until the little lyn smelled the sweet aroma of cakes and pastries. She smiled widely and ran in ahead of Kenji, who just smiled and watched her. He went through the stalls and looked at various items. He was about to walk away when one items caught his eye. It was a beautiful armlet decorated in emeralds and rubies. He picks it up and looks it over, admiring it’s craftsmanship and looks to the stall keeper, who was a lovely looking woman dressed in a black and blue kemono.

“Excuse me ma’am. Are you the crafter of this fine armlet?”

She looks up at him with wide eyes at his sheer size, but smiles to him nonetheless.

“That I am dear, are you looking to purchase this for someone special?”

“Well, she is special alright, but we aren’t intimate or anything like that. She is just a long time friend and I just wanted to give her something.”

The woman places a hand on her chest and give out a little ‘Aaawwww…’

“You know,I hear that you gon are always so boisterous and hot-headed. Never really thinking about anything other than fighting. But, I can see not all of you are like that. You are a fierce looking warrior indeed, but you are also kind enough to get something for a friend who you have been with for awhile. I know she will love it.”

“I know she will, she is a lyn that goes crazy for shiny, pretty things like this. How Much do I owe you, ma’am?”

“That will be five gold pieces.”

“Really,something like this for so cheap? What is the catch?”

“No catch my dear, but when you give it to her, let it be somewhere special. You may not have a romance interest between you two now, but who knows what the fates will entail, yes?”

“Oh,that would be something. A gon and a lyn romantically involved with one another.”

The woman places a sleeve over her mouth as she giggles.

“Sometimes, it is the oddest mixture of two people from very different worlds that make the best ones.”

Kenji can’t help but smile at her words, he slides her the currency and places the armlet into his pocket.

“Thank you, and thank you for your words as well. You are right, you never know what will happen.”

“Now, off you go sweetie, don’t keep her waiting any longer.”

Kenji nods and bows to the woman before parting ways with her. He walks around looking for the little lyn, good thing he was so tall that he even stood higher than some of the stalls. He comes out the exit of the festival, looking around to see if she may have stepped away to get away from all the excitement for a bit. Suddenly he heard it.

“KENJI, HELP ME,PLEASE!”

He looks over at the source of the voice, seeing her being carried off by two figures cloaked in black. His immediate response was to run after them and make sure that she was safe and unharmed.

“I am coming Yue! Hang on!”

The figures were fast, they ran through the trees of the forest that surrounded Everdusk. Jumping from branch to branch in order to gain more ground from the large man that pursued them.

“Let her go you bastards, when I get ahold of you both, I am going to going to stomp your heads in until it is nothing but primordial soup beneath my feet if you even dare hurt her!”

The chase went on for awhile,until a clearing was reached and they kidnappers stopped and sat her down. Kenji was about to charge at them both when suddenly, he felt a sharp pain go throughout his entire body. The tower of a man collapses to a knee and holds a hand over his chest. This pain was all too familiar. Dark chi began to radiate from his body and an ethereal dark purple rose sprouted from his back. She was near, Jinsoyun.

“Well well, looks like all went according to plan didn’t it?”

Kenji heard her voice, she walked out of the shadows and stood merely three feet in front of the gon,who was now staring daggers at the very woman who killed his mentor all those years ago and had infected him with the dark chi that he fights everyday.

“You..you bitch. Why don’t you release this grip and fight me like a warrior with honor? You killed master Hong in cold blood simply because of your greed for power. I will not allow you to take another loved one away from me. Give her back, now…”

He said in a deep inhuman growl. Struggling to his feet to fight the grip that she had on him.

“Oh, this wasn’t my doing though, sweet Kenji. The mastermind behind the who plan to get you out here was the sweet little lyn for whom you care for so deeply. Isn’t that right Yue?”

Kenji’s eyes widen as he slowly turns his head to look at Yue,who had a smug look on her face and her arms crossed over her chest.

“Indeed it was. You are so very easy to manipulate Kenji. It took three years to get you here.And Jinsoyun made a promise that i would become very wealthy if I were to deliver you to her at this very spot.”

Kenji's heart sank, and shattered. the urge to shed tears was evident, but he held them back.

“So...all these years...our friendship. All the good times and sad times we shared. Those were all based on a lie?!”

Yue chuckles and simply nods.

“You may be strong and fierce Kenji, that was nice to have around. But you are not the sharpest sword in the armory as they would say. Now that I have been promised wealth,I don’t need someone like you anymore.”

Those words...those harsh pain-staking words hit Kenji harder than any enemy he had ever faced. His sadness was now overwhelming, but soon his sadness began to mix with great anger. Kenji had considered this Lyn one of the best friends he had ever had. And now, she betrays him over gold?!

“You are just like the rest of them. Manipulative...greedy...self-absorbed.I hope your greed is the very thing that kills you Yue. Choke on your gold and die…”

She didn’t show it, but the words that he had said to her hurt her very much. But her lust for money was more overpowered than her friendship with Kenji apparently.Jinsoyun chuckles and draws out the blade of her mother that she had stolen from master hong, she cuts through the air and opens up a dragon pulse that looked as dark as the chi that radiated from her.

“With you gone..there will be no more of the Hongmoon Clan to tirelessly seek revenge against me.one less threat to get rid of yes? Now then,enjoy what new world you end up in. Goodbye Kenji. Tell your master I said hello whenever you die.”

Suddenly Jinsoyun delivers a swift and hard kick to Kneji’s chest, sending him flying back into the dragon pulse, the portal closes. All is quiet. Jinsoyun turns to the lyn and chuckles evilly.

“You know, you are more of an evil bitch than I am. Even I know when loyalty is appreciated. And you betrayed a gon. A man who would have laid his life down to save yours should the need have ever come. And you repaid him with those words and betrayal. Tell me, is your new found wealth worth it?”

“Just...give me what you owe me…”

She said with a lowered head, her small hands shaking and tears welling up in her eyes. Now that he was gone, her emotions erupted. Tears falling down her face as the large sac of gold pieces were tossed at her feet. Jinsoyun looks to her companions and nods.

“Weare done here,leave this one to wallow in ehr money and sadness, the two go hand in hand you know. Enjoy the overwhelming guilt, knowing you killed someone who would have done anything for you.”

--Outside Of Ponyville,9 PM--

Heavy rainfall and thunder fell from the sky, lightning striking ever so often. The dragon pulse opened, spitting out the large gon and throwing him to the ground, he tumbles and rolls until his is stopped by a large rock, nearly smashing that to pieces as he hits it. He falls to his hands and knees. The man was absolutely heartbroken and full of hate and anger. This isn’t the first, but second time he has been betrayed by someone close to him. And it tore at his heart as the memories come flooding back, seeing his clan destroyed, his master killed, old wounds opening up, adding on to the fresh ones. He grits his teeth, sinking his fingers into the wet ground as he fight back the emotional pain the best he could.The dark chi radiating even more from his body as his hatred rises higher. He slowly rises to his feet, letting out a loud inhuman roar as the chi starts to go out of control.He grabs his weapon from his back, beginning to destroy everything within his field of vision. Trees, rocks anything.The gon was in a mixture of absolute rage and grief. A dark purple fiery glow came from his eyes as he rampaged.

--Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia’s Chambers--

The tall and curvy white alicorn shoots up from her slumber as she feels a strange distortion in the area below the city of Canterlot. She quickly gets up and runs over to her balcony door, opening it up and running to the railing looking in the direction, not caring that she was getting rained on.

“Oh sweet Faust...if we do not contain this monster now…”

She quickly runs back into her chambers and runs to the door, swinging it open and calling to the guard that guard her room.

“You, guards, deploy a ten stallion group and head to the outskirts of Ponyville now! This is a dire situation! Get there now before this creature hurt any innocence and restrain it!”

“Y-yes your highness!”

“And make sure you bind it well, something tells me...this creature is not going to be easy to chain down, stay vigilant!When you subdue it, bring him here and put it in the lower cell. I will speak to it directly when the morning comes! Be safe out there!”

“Yes ma’am!”

Celestia closes the door as she looks back out her window. She could hear...roars of anguish and sadness coming from the valley below. What that the creature? She would find out...soon enough.

Ah yes, the heart breaking beginning of a story that is sure to bring more along with it. I know you are all probably tired of sadness and tragedy beginnings, but hey, you gotta admit they do make good prologues when done right. I think I did pretty good with this one.
