A shadow's tale

As the twins wondered around the village eclipse stuck by her sister's side as her dark eyes darted around.

"so..what are we looking for big sister?" she raises an eyebrow in confusion.

Nova just grinned before she picked up her pace, heading for a small park "follow me~and you'll see~ follow follow follow-" nova was cut off by her sister,

"I am following you..so shhh please" she sighed as she followed the older filly  into the small park.

After a while of playing eclipse fell over something, yelping as she hit the ground.

"sis!? what happened!?" the ruby eyed filly asked, helping the younger filly up, her gaze lowered to the ground, seeing something shine, a gem.

"sister? what is it?" eclipse asked as nova picked the gem up with her magic, smiling.

"its a gem! let's keep it, I mean, if its just laying here there must be no owner right?" she gazed at the ocean coloured gem.

eclipse looked around, nervous.

"um...well...I don't know.."  her wings fluttered nervously.

Just as nova was about to respond a splash was heard from their right. slowly turning their heads, there was a light blue filly with a dark blue and green mane, and a....merpony tail?...not a normal tail.

"can..i..have my gem back please.." her voice was soft and quite.

eclipse hid behind nova, not knowing how to deal with this situation.

nova smiled." sure. sorry, I didn't know it belonged to somepony" she rubbed the back of her neck.

"t...that's okay" her emerald eyes looked at Eclipse, she smiled,

eclipse blushed, that colour of eyes...suited her... nova saw this and smirked a little. but didn't speak up, she did, however, give the gem to eclipse "you can hand it over" then she flopped down.

eclipse slowly walked to the other filly and gave her the gem.

"thanks.."the green eyed filly smiled.

"no..problem" eclipse felt a smile tug at her muzzle.

"hey, girls I have an idea" nova's voice echoed around them.

"yes?" the younger filly's looked at her

"let's be friends!" she grinned.

silence.then they smiled

"yeah. let's all be friends"

and so the mere-pony, shadow pony, and solar pony became friends, and from that day forth they were always together at the park, playing games and eating together. Life was perfect... Until..
