It was another day in Canterlot, Moonlight Sparks got out of his bedroom. When he came down stairs, Ember Blaze just got back from the Castle after helping Princess Celestia raise the sun. They greeted each other and sat down on the dining room.

"Let me make breakfast this time." Moonlight said with a wink. Ember just smile and nodded.

Out of nowhere, two plates carrying stacks of pancakes appeared at their table. They both ate their breakfast.

After their breakfast, the plates that was carrying pancakes that was eaten, disappeared in an instant. They both got out of their home and walked towards the train station.

"I can't wait to get to Ponyville, it's been a while since we last came." Ember said excitedly.

"It has been a while." Moonlight said with a frown.

"Hey what's wrong?" She asked with a look on concern.

"It's nothing important." He lied. But Ember wasn't buying it.

"Don't try to lie bro, we're connected to each other remember?" She said with a gaze.

"Yeah I know, it's just that it's been years since we lost our parents, and the fact that our friends don't know our life before we were friends with them." He said in a frown face. Ember hugged Moonlight in hopes to cheer him up. He just hugged back with a small smile.

"I know what it feels, I kinda miss our parents too. But even they're alive right now, i know that they are so proud of us getting this far in our lives." She replied with a smile after she stopped hugging.

Moonlight didn't say anything but smiled back. They boarded the train to Ponyville. When the train stopped, Moonlight and Ember saw their friends waiting on the station. They were greeted by a hello and hugs and Pinkie's party cannon shooting Confetti's.

"I'm glad you guys made it, so what's happening in Canterlot?" Twilight Sparkle asked.

"Nothing much, it's just another day in Canterlot I suppose." Ember replied. "Unless Discord makes a mess again. You wouldn't believe what happened last time." She added. Twilight shook her head and turned to Moonlight.

"How about you Moonlight, got anything special to do?" She asked. Moonlight shook his head and said.

"Not much, just the regular daily job of being a batpony in the night. He replied.

Everyone except Twilight and Ember was confused of what Moonlight said.

"Now hold on there, so your telling us that you're that batpony who was flying above Ponyville every night? Applejack asked. Which Moonlight nodded.

"Well then, why is it that you look like a pegasus right now? Are you a changeling or something?" Rainbow dash asked nearing her face to Moonlight's.

"First of all, yes I'm the batpony in the night. Second, no I'm not a changeling." Moonlight replied.

"Then why do you look like a normal pegasus dear?" Rarity asked in shock.

"Look before I explain any further, we should go back to Twilight's castle. That way we can start talking on the personal life." He said. Which everyone agreed.

When they reached the Castle in Ponyville, they entered inside the throne room. Inside they saw Spike and Starlight looking on the map of Equestria for friendship problems. When they stepped in, they greeted each other.

"Hey there Starlight, Spike." Moonlight greeted both of them.

"Hey Moonlight." They both replied.

"Starlight!!! Spike!!!" Ember screamed and gave them both a bone crushing hug. Everyone started to chuckle even Moonlight.

"Hello...Ember...could you please put us down?" Starlight asked. Which she agreed and put them down.

"Sorry, it's just I'm so happy to see you two. I miss you guys!" She replied.

"We miss you too. Next time please don't break us in half with your hug." Spike said.

"Sure thing." She happily agreed.

"Ok, so now that's out of the way. Moonlight, please do explain why are you a pegasus today and a batpony at night dear?" Rarity asked again. Moonlight sighed and said.

"Ok,look you may have know me and Ember from the Princesses. But the truth is... I have magic." He said. Which made everyone confused. Until Rainbow Dash started to laugh hard.

"That was a greatest story a pegasus would say!" She said while still laughing.

Then out of nowhere Rainbow Dash was trapped inside a bubble that can't be popped easily. Everyone were shock at disbelief at what just happened.

"Put her down brother, she may now believe of what you said." Ember said to her brother. Then out of nowhere the bubble disappeared and everyone was shocked at disbelief once more.

"D-did you just d-do t-that?" Fluttershy asked Moonlight. Which he simply nodded.

"I don't understand, I thought unicorns and alicorns can only use magic." Rarity said in disbelief.

"Our life has much more story than meets the eye." Moonlight said. Everyone exchanged glances until Twilight broke the silence.

"So not only you can turn into a batpony at night, but you can use magic as well?" She asked.

"Pretty much." Moonlight replied.

There was a silence inside the room. Until Moonlight broke the silence.

"It's almost night time, I guess I should show you my batpony form." He said.

As the moon rises, Moonlight was covered in a black sphere. When the sphere disappeared, everyone except Twilight, Ember, Spike, and Starlight was shocked of what they saw.

Moonlight's hair color turned dark blue colored from his normal blue color, his eyes changed into a snake like eyes. His feathered wings turned into a leathered skin bat wings. They were afraid when they saw Moonlight's batpony form for the first time. But Twilight and Ember tried to calm them down.

"It's okay girls, he may be a batpony but he's the same Moonlight we know and loved." She said.

"It's just fine, all ponies are all like this when they first see him in his night form." Ember added. Little by little they approached Moonlight carefully. Until Moonlight spoke.

"I'm not dangerous, I'm just like this every night." He said while looking on the moon. After that he sighed.

"Look, only Princess Celestia and Princess Luna knows about our past lives. Maybe now is the perfect time for you girls know it too." He added. Everyone nodded and started to listen to what he is about to say. He look at Ember which she gave him a nod. He sighed and start telling them the story.

"I will start to the day when we were fillies..."

Prologue done. In this story, Were going to learn about the history of Moonlight Sparks from how it all started, when it all started and what happened. Next chapter is the first part of his life.
