The sun was shining brightly, Moonlight woke up and groaned about waking up early. He looked at the sun and said.

"Why is the sun shines this bright?" He said when he turned and walk towards the door. When he walked downstairs, he saw his mom at the kitchen, making breakfast. His dad was getting ready for work.

His mother's name is Green Ash. She's a pegasus mare who works in clearing the weather, His father was called Crimson Knight. A unicorn stallion who was part of the royal guards. Moonlight dreamed of being a royal guard when he grow up so he can help and protect ponies like his dad.

"Good morning Moonlight. Are you ready for your first day of school?" Green asked when she turned to Moonlight with a smile. He smiled back and said.

"Yes, mom. I can't wait to get started." He replied in excitement. Green and Crimson just smiled when he was jumping in excitement.

"Don't forget son, you and Ember should go to school together." Crimson reminded.

"Oh yeah, I'll wake her up." He replied. He ran back upstairs and stopped outside of Ember's room. Ember is a unicorn who's almost the same age as his brother. He knocked at the door and yelled.

"Wake up, sleepy head! First day of school is today. You don't want to miss it." He yelled. He heard a groan inside the room and the door was opened by magic.

Ember is always studying magic. She already know levitation spell. When she opened the door she said.

"Five more minutes please, I'm kinda tired." She said softly then she yawned and gone back to sleep.

"But your gonna be late if you don't wake up now." Moonlight reasoned. Only to heard a groan as a reply. "Ugh, that's it!" He said. Then he pulled the blanket of Ember with his mouth and ran downstairs, with Ember's blanket still in his mouth.

"Hey, give that back!" She shouted then chased Moonlight downstairs. When she stopped, she saw Moonlight and her parents sitting beside each other on the dining room.

"Oh morning Ember, come take a seat and start eating your breakfast." Green suggested. Ember sighed and sat beside her mother, with Moonlight and her dad on the other end.

When breakfast was finished, Moonlight and Ember took their saddlebags and walked together to school

When school was over, Moonlight was thrilled with his first day, he made a new friend named Lox Wing. Lox Wing is a Pegasus who does most of the time reading books about inventions and science. Moonlight didn't care, he's just happy he got a friend in his first day.

Unlike Ember, who had a rough day. She has been getting bullied because she doesn't have a cutie mark. However, Moonlight never let that happen to his sister. Even when he took the place of Ember getting bullied. He doesn't care, he ignores them just like they were nothing.

10 years later, Ember was turning 15. Her family was happy for their children to get this far with no trouble. Moonlight changed over the years, turning from a very happy and excited filly into a silent but calm stallion. Ember changed as well, from a nervous and sensitive foal into a happy and smart unicorn who learned a lot of spells, including teleportation. She and Lox Wing had the chance to know each other. She even made friends with a unicorn stallion named Shadow Storm and an earth pony mare named Softspot, whose the same age as her. While everyone else was enjoying the party, Moonlight remained in his room reading a book near the window where the light of the moon was shining on his book so he can see. He smiled and look at the moon.

"That's why I liked the moon, instead of shining a hot and blind ray like the sun, the moon shines a ray of light that is just perfect for reading books." He said. Then he closed the book and returned it to his bookshelves. He stood near the window while looking at moon again. He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened his eyes, he opened the window and fly out of his room. Ever since he first learned how to fly in flight school at Cloudsdale, every night he flies above Canterlot and finds a spot in a small hill nearby. When he landed, he sat there and the silence grew. He was sitting there, closing his eyes, feeling the cold breeze the night gives. There's more silence, then he suddenly heard a rustling behind him. He turned and couldn't believe of what he saw.

"Why are you here, little one? Are you lost." The figure said in a feminine voice. Moonlight can't see the figure very well due to the darkness.

"I'm sorry if I bothered somepony, I was just here thinking." He tried to tried to explain, but the figure stopped him.

"It's alright my subject. You have nothing to fear." The figure said. Then it walked towards Moonlight slowly. Moonlight was looking at the figure when she was walking towards him. He then examined the figure. Then when he realized who it was, he gasped and bowed.

"Princess Luna, I didn't know it was you." He said still bowing.

"I see great things happen to you, Moonlight Sparks. You have a noble and gentle heart. And I know why your here." Luna said.

"You do?" He asked still bowing.

"Yes, but before i tell you. You may rise." She said. Moonlight stand up.

"I know how you favor the night, Moonlight. I appreciate it." She said.

"If only I could repay you by making your dream come true. One day I will." She said.

"Now if you excuse me, I must go back to the palace." She added. Before she left, Moonlight stopped him.

"Wait Princess." He said. Luna turned to Moonlight.

"Will I see you again?" He asked. Luna smiled and said.

"Only time will tell, Moonlight. Only time will tell." She replied before leaving Moonlight on the hill.
