Fallout Equestria: Rat Paws in the sand.

It was early morning in the home of Tiria's heart. But something was wrong. There have been many rumors of a strange thing going on with unicorn's vanishing and then suddenly showing back up hurting their friends. But no pony knows what is going on. It seems it has something to do with a group called The Pact they seem to avoid small towns like Tiria's heart. For the moment of course.

But there is more to fear at the moment. Cannon Ball is on his death bed. he doesn't have much time and his granddaughter is on her way to see him again. The rest of his friends and family. It might not be close to the last time he would tell this story. But It's how it's been going. When she enters the room she sees Kip, Silver, and Shadow. The mare that had fallen asleep a while ago is here to. l.

" Oh, greetings little Snow I am Star Shooter." She was in a wheelchair. But that's because her muscles didn't fully recover after her being trapped in that coma for so long. Blaze her wife was standing right beside the wheelchair. Snow didn't know her well either. But, hopefully, she would down the line.

But she just waved as the paw of her grandfather stroked snow's head.

" Oh, little one...I am so sorry for what happened. I wish I could have lived long enough to see you grow up. But I doubt that is the case now. You will now learn what happen to me to cause this. Now, where was I...Oh yes.

The past

I woke up in a bed after that explosion. I was strapped down but the doctor wasn't crazy or insane. He saved me. He looked at me with his ghoul’s eyes and smiled.

" I am sorry I did that to you little one. But the crazy minds would have taken you first if I didn't do something. But again I'm very sorry.." He had me strapped down I had no idea why. I tried to move but he used his magic in his horn to stop me. " No don't. You were barely alive when I found you. So I am using a potion to heal you. It will take time."

Sighing softly. " What happened here?"

The unicorn had a look of sadness in his eyes. " The war happen little one. The war ended the pony way of life. You see these creature's most of them gave up their minds Willey to be part of the war. But the problem was it never fully came into being. Since Fluttershy learned of this and tried to stop it."

Sighing again I thought it was the war that was the cause of all this. That very silly war that I knew that would come up a lot. But I looked at my leg. The stump was cleaned but he seemed to be building something that he would attach to my leg. It was a machine gun. That had an ammo belt that would connect to a metal part that would cover my stump.

" I have a feeling that's my leg?" The unicorn nodded.

" Do you have a name?" He asked me than I thought of it Whiskers why would I tell him I am Whiskers. But I softly said it.

"I'm Cannonball."

The unicorn smiled laughing softly. " I see oh and one warning to you. This what I am doing to you. It will only last a few years. I am not sure the exact time it will last. But after a while, your body will break down from what I am doing to you. Because the potion I am giving you is very unstable."

Giving a nod closing my eyes, " Thank you for your help. I am trying to find my friends...Did you see them?" The doctor sighed.

" I think the criminals may have taken them. I can show you where though. Again I am very sorry for what happen to you."

I smirked softly. " Don't worry I will be fine. Now just let me get out of here." The unicorn let me go and I calmly stood up it was going to be hard to walk on the gun. But I had to get used to it. I lost my weapon but looking down seeing the machine gun.

" Here take this." He gave me a sword that looked to be old but I could use it. My kind had hunches in our back so it would be hard to walk like this. But I would have to learn to walk right up. I grabbed the weapon in my paw's slowly walking along trying to get used to the weapon attached to my former leg. It wasn't going to be easy but it's very very painful.

But again no pain no gain. I..Cough cough!!

Back at the present poor Cannon coughed and couldn't speak anymore. But Kip gave him a drink.

"He needs some rest. So please let him rest."

" No,” The king calmly said. " I need to tell the story. I can't just lay here an do nothing."

Blaze blinked and chuckled. " I see who gave you the stubborn streak Star shooter." The mare's face turned bright red.

" Oh come on...." She covered her face in her hooves.

" I need to continue the story, Kip. I can't just allow my story to vanish in death. Most who were alive are no dead." He said weakly. Kip sighed nodding.

" Go on."

I walked through the hospital looking for my friends. But I did find that the lizard got out of here somehow but I was looking for my friends. I saw the bodies of two of my friends. They had been killed. Two more dead only one left Lilly or Pothead.

When I found her she had blood draining from a wound in her head. The ghouls bashed her so hard. She looked like she had brain damage.

"Let’s kill this creature." One of the ghouls said. I had to fight them but...how. Looking down at my leg. I found the machine gun lifting it and grabbed it. Clicking the trigger shooting down at them hitting four of the ghouls. The rest scattered scared. I smirked. Made myself look big.

" HEY! Don't ever hurt my friends again. You killed two of them. I am here to kill all of you unless you let her go!!"

" Go ahead take her...We...are sorry." One of the ghouls sobbed.

" Let her go then!!" The ghouls trot over to release Lily I rushed down to get her and looked at the ghouls. " You know you don't have to stay here. I am on my way out of myself. I did open the sewer's so go ahead and leave."

The ghouls stared at each other unsure how to handle this. But they nodded and left. But of course Lily was awake and she looked at me with a weak smile.

" Hello, Whiskers. Thank you." She stood up groaning putting the pot on her head. I have a feeling that sooner or later she will fully turn into that creature pothead. But we had to escape the city. To get away from Wheel tread. But if it was fate that sentry robot that chased us awhile ago found us again.

It aimed at us. " Threat's found!!! Threat..." The robot stopped and died as someone hit it. But what’s very funny the Doctor came out from behind the robot and waved.

" Go hurry. I doubt this would last long." I nodded calmly heading back out. It wasn't going to be easy to get out of here. But we finally found the way out. But we didn't take our dead. Breaking through the locked door and when we got out. We had guns aimed at us by our species.

It was the forest rats. A group of rat's that hated the ones in the sewers. I raised my arms so did Lily. " Please..." I said.." We are trying to escape the city.

" Stop." I saw that female rat again as she came up to me.

" But Princess we can't let a sewer rat go." She looked towards her guard's giving them a look."

" They need our help."

"I'm Whisper.." She softly said.

" I'm Whiskers this is Lilly. We are trying to find a way out of the city and a place to call home."

The rats looked at each other nodding.

" We know a place. But getting there is not going to be easy. " I gave a nod. " Just to get there we have to get out of the city...Now, what is chasing you?"

I sighed. " A pony named Wheel tread." I saw the fear in the rat's eyes. " He came into my home and destroyed it. Now me and Lily here are the only sewer rat's alive."

Lily gave a weak nod.

"Let’s go then...Before they find us here."

The forest rats and I. Walked through the streets. Many ponies stayed away from us looking at us with scared looks in their eyes. It got to the point I didn't blame them. But this was a time when most of the world hated each other. They had to live somehow. We got close to the outskirts but I was shown where we are going. We are heading deep into the waste.

But of course, it wouldn't be that easy. We had to make camp in the middle of the old road. But when we did it was a calm night. Well, its hard to tell if it was night or not. Since well it was hard to tell with all the clouds above us. But again I didn't know what was going on up there at the time.

But I was placed on watch and well the first time I went on watch something happen. We were followed by Wheel Tread. They had somehow found us. So they started blowing us to hell. He had a group of raiders flanking us. They gave us weapons. Starting to fire on them. Getting the one's that flanked us out of the way moving away while most of the forest rats fell but not all of them. It took time to get going.

But of course, the battle didn't go well for all of us. I got a few bullets in my body. But I didn't allow that to stop me. We were able to get out of Manehatten and we hid in a blown-out apartment building called MIsty moon Apartment's. We had to wait a while before they passed us by. But when they did they headed towards the way we are heading. But they went on ahead of us.

I didn't know what to do any longer. The princess I didn't know her name but she was very kind to me. Helping me with the bullets getting them out of my body. But it wasn't pleasant I knew I was starting to fall for the Princess.

But I wouldn't have been asked to ask her out as of yet. I groaned a bit but...Cough cough.

" I need to rest," Cannon said he groaned and lay back. Kip nodded and pushed the others out. Star Shooter and Blaze looked at each other. Snow and the others around could hear Blaze.

" I laid my egg's my love...After we mixed our egg cells and added sperm to it" She said with a gentle smile. Star Shooter just blushed a deep red as Blaze pushed her to their place not far from the hospital it was easy to be close for them since Star shooter needed to learn to walk again.

Snow yawned she was tired. But while she walked home with Patch following her. " Patch how come you acted as you did back then?" Snow stopped looking up at the earth pony mare.

" Well....back then It was hard to know what was between good and evil. Now let’s get you home so you can rest." Snow nodded. But before they fully left Kip came to them offering Cannon's gun leg. It was old and rusted.

" He wished you to have this he said you will know why after the story is over." Snow held the gun nodding. Kip rushed back inside to help take care of Cannon. Snow sighed looking up to Patch.

" I wish I knew more about my grandmother. But thank you for being kind Patch. I know it's hard for you to be." Snow smiled up at her Patch chuckled.

" I am trying of course. Come let’s get you home" it was very late the Enclave from this town flew above watching to see what will happen. Bulwark kept an eye on the gate. She was a strong-looking mare but she couldn't' have children of her own. But the entire children of this town were her children.

" Patch!!" She called. Patch stopped a moment as the unicorn mare rushed over. " I will take Snow back. Take care of the gate for me, please. I need to take Kip out for something to eat. She needs a break."

Patch gave a nod and gave Snow a Nuzzle. " Later little Snow." Patch trotted off. Climbing up to the gate to sit there to watch. With the Griffin Tiny. It's an impressive night. But most hope it would stay peaceful. But Bulwark leads Snow back home. Opening the door for her.

" Goodnight little one. I do hope you get to hear the rest of his story...I am sorry that he is dying like he is."

Snow Sighed. “ I already know that is going to die. It’s not something you can sugar coat in this type of world anymore.” Snow lays on her bed closing her eyes to fall asleep.
