Fallout Equestria: Rat Paws in the sand.

It has been two days since Cannon Ball has gone into Critical care. Snow has not been able to see him. But she has been busy trying to help get the gardens to grow more smoothly then they have been. But she was carried away from the garden's by Skull Crusher he was leading her away from the gate.

"Skull Crusher what is going on?" She looked up to the Minotaur. He hushed her a moment. She noticed all the young and close to adults were being hidden. She looked at seeing strange creatures at the gate. She could hear them speak.

"We are the pact will you allow us to come in and offer our word's of wisdom?" The creature said he looked like a diamond dog with a pony’s faces sewn to his face. "We offer our wisdom to all those of this humble little town. They would do great in accepting it."

Bulwark snorted taping her hoof tiny and RA Proto lifted their weapons aiming at them. "We have heard of your Wisdom. Where ever the attacks have happened. You have given your wisdom. So now get out of here before I ask them to kill you." Bulwark grew very angry her horn was even glowing that is rare to see of her to do. Snow has never seen her get this angry before.

"Oh but wisdom is the right of all pony folk my dear. All we deserve is to give...His wisdom.."

"Who's?" She asked.

"Why his..wisdom.." He pointed to a symbol on his cloak of large black horn's and Bulwark and Tiny Gasped Ra Proto got ready to shoot.

"FIRE!!" The three fire killing the one's know as the pact with no remorse's and having RA burn the bodies. Then the closed the gate quickly just in case. "Tiny get on the gate. Proto raise the high alert." Proto sounded the alarm. The Steel Rangers, The mercs who live here as well came out with all their weapons and the enclave soldiers they all got onto the wall waiting for the attack.

Patch trotted out of the cave looking to Skull Crusher. " I will take her to her grandfather. I think you better join them Skull." He nodded to patch. As he left Snow to the earth pony. Snow looked Scared but Patch being a kind old mare. Who didn't even look that old? "Come kiddo lets get you something to eat from Fleur's place and then get you to your grandfather."

The two walked into the inn. Thanks to Fleur the old bar that used to be here shut down. But the pony wasn't upset about it. His staff and himself as well went to go work with her. Since she wanted to not force them to shut down. It was just in a better location and closer to the hospital just in case some pony over drank she said.

it was pretty busy in here for the time it was. But most of who were in here were Dr. Slice, Blaze, and Star Shooter still in a wheelchair. Snow calmly walked past them only to see Jonon walk beside her. " I got her patch. I will watch her." Patch smiled.

"You sure you old Zebra." Jonon rolled her eyes.

" I am sure.." Jonon said with a nod. Pat's patted Snow's head with her hoof and trotted out of the inn. Jonon looked down at the little princess of the rat Creeper's lifting her to the table where her friends are. She waved shyly at the three. Blaze smiled she had her tail wrapped tightly around star shooter.

"Oh, a young little one." Dr. Slice sounded so happy. "Hello, Princess Snow how is that grandfather of yours?" Snow blinked a moment thinking of what to say looking to Jonon and then back to him. Snow looked down she looked very sad. "Oh my, I am so sorry.." Dr. Slice said in a sad tone.

Snow lifted her head looking to Star Shooter. "How are you feeling miss Shooter?" Star chuckled and shrugged.

"Like hell. I have been stuck in a coma for 40 year's and now I wake up and my wife can't keep herself off me. Not that I am complaining of course." Blaze chuckles hissing.

"You never do," Blaze smirked. "But everything aside. I do hope your grandfather gets better. He was very kind to me and the others when we first met him. He helped me find a way to help around here. He gave Skull Crusher and Black Feather the alright to help clean up Reaper fields so they could do something. He introduced me to Kip and the others. Then I got to know this Tiria that Star Shooter learned so much from." Star Shooter has a large smile on her face.

"Yes, she helped me learn so much. Of course, she never told me. How wild some females are." Her horn glow's pulling Blaze into a deep kiss. Snow gags a bit seeing the loving display of lovers. Blaze pulls away from a gentle blush on her scaled face. "Oh my, that's a first I got my wife to Blush. Normally it was me blushing." The radio turned on in the bar and a voice came over.

"Hello, souls of Tiria's rest. It's browser woooowser. Anyway for the new's. There have been many rumor's that more large towns have been hit by whatever is causing these ponies to vanish. But the unicorns are the only things that are taken. The rest of the species are left to die. The NCR is looking into this as well as the New Enclave and the Steel rangers. But nothing new at this time. I wish there could be more new's ponies. But sadly I can't get any from my counterpart in the big 52 and DJPone 3 is silent at the moment." The voice sighs. "But enough of that. Time for some music." The music softly played.

The music just went on in the background. To Snow, it sounded like a very sad little song. But what Jonon order for the little rat creeper finally came. Snow ate slowly and ladylike trying not to upset those around her. She took a look at Slice. He looks cleaned up, with some new upgrades. She looked at Jonon. Jonon had a smile on her face but it was easy to tell the Zebra was new to being this open and kind. Snow leaned into Jonon nuzzling along her leg.

"Awww she likes you Jonon." Dr. Slice said. Snow ate the rest of her food she got off the seat looking up to them.

"Who will take me to see my grandfather?" Dr. Slice move's from the table.

" I would be happy to. It will get me away from the lover's over there." Star Shooter and Blaze are now making out Jonon face hoofed.

"Um, Fleur are you okay for what these two are doing?" Fleur looked over and laughed softly.

"Oh, I see no harm in this let them enjoy themselves. She just woke up after all it's not like their having fun in public." Jonon chuckles.

"Come on Kiddo..Let’s go before they start doing that..knowing those two." Snow quickly followed Dr. Slice outside of the bar. She sighed following along Dr. Slice. She noticed so many guards and merc's rushing around different parts of the town and the cavern. She watches as a large guard protects the children that just got out of school. "I was hoping never to see something like this again. I was there during the old war. We had no right doing what we did there even. It was harder to do anything then what we have done."

Dr. Slice stopped and floated there. "What did you do during the war?" Dr. Slice looked down with his three eyes stalks. It was hard to tell the emotions on a robot but he looked to be very unsure what to think. "Well, I helped with many projects concerning health care and many other projects. But I gained a nasty sickness that ate my flesh and slowly was killing me. I had to place everything in this body. I miss having my magic. But this body has its uses, Uses of being a robot."

He gave off a sigh. "Come let’s get you to your grandfather." The two slowly walk into the hospital and in critical care is Cannonball he is hooked up to many things trying to keep him alive. He turned his head reaching to stroke his granddaughter's head.

"Thank you, Dr Slice." Dr. Slice bows in his strange way. Dr. Slice floated out of the room. He gave Kip a bow she slowly walked inside. Snow could tell it broke Kip's heart that little Snow had to see her grandfather like this. Snow softly asked as she held her grandfather's paw.

"Why did this potion that doctor gave you weaken you like this?" Cannonball laughed coughing after awhile but kept his smile. Stroking Snow's little paw with his. He tried to think of how he could explain to her how the potion worked. He sighed closing his eyes a moment then opened them again.

"It was more than the potion little one. I went through so much. I got shot stabbed lost my leg. With my old age, my body is finally coming along and breaking down. It happens after you have been through this world for so long." He coughs again. "But it's not the only thing. More things happen to me. But this happens to every creature that fight's for this world. Most never recover again. Some do some never will. I'm sadly one of them. I will follow Tiria into the great beyond."

Snow sighed looking up to Kip who sighed. "Kip.." Cannonball softly said. "Please go get some rest. Don't worry about me. If you're needed I will send Snow to get you." Kip hesitated a bit she didn't want to go but her heart was telling her she needed to. She slowly walked out of the room to head to her home to get some rest. Cannon sighs. "That poor mare she hasn't been the same since I got this bad."

"Can you tell me the rest of the story Grandfather?" Cannon smiled he sat up groaning a bit. He shifted a bit trying to find the best way to tell the story.. Without the pain getting to him. So he leaned on the wall and looked around.

"Give me a moment sweetheart I need to get a little drink and try to keep it down." Snow gave a nod as she watched him reach for a glass of water. He took a small sip. It looked like it was going to be staying down in his stomach. He shifted again getting back into a comfortable position to tell the story. He thought of where he left off then though of how to say.

"Wheel Tread and his minions bypassed us heading for their home. We had to go through the waste. So we went another way to get to the home we wished to get to. But we looked through the apartment's first. But didn't find much of anything. What we did find that the basement was locked. But that the apartment was made for all races" He sighed thinking a moment.

"What do you mean grandfather for all races?"

Cannonball looked back to Snow. "Back during the war Snow, there was a ton of race hating the ponies might have been all peaceful. Most of them also knew how to speak to the creatures of the world. But that failed to save them from their fate. This war is why you see some of the worlds still not fully healed. Even though Sunshine and Rainbow's happen the past caused so many problems."

"But let’s get back. We left the building."

The past

We just woke up and it was early morning. I had to learn to walk on my new gun leg. It wasn't that odd or strange. But the princess I followed made me happy that I met her. But It was just me and Lily and a few of her guards. She told me before we both fell asleep. That more factions of Rat Creeper's are finding their way to these fields. So we needed to get there alive. But there was a problem.

"The way to get to the fields we go through a large nest of Rad scorpions. It's going to be hard to get through them. But if we went through silently we will pass them. Now I want you two to do what you can are you two willing to go with us?" Lilly looked at me I looked back to Lily

"Whisker's I doubt it's wise."

"Wait Whisker's?" Whisper asked. "Your name is Whiskers? Huh, cute." I blinked she found my name cute. Oh, I was walking on air..in my brain at least. Maybe I could get to know her and maybe we could make little ones. But then Snow scream's

"GRANDFATHER FOCUS!!"

"What wait what? Oh sorry." Snow giggled.

"Come let’s go you two." I sighed Lilly or now known as Pothead followed Whisper she looked back to the two of us. "So did you have any other friends?"

I looked up to Whisper and sighed. "I had an entire home. But of course, ponies killed them all and now it's just me and Pothead. The other's died in that hospital. We also had a lizard with us. But I didn't see him after the explosion." We left the building and looking at the wasteland I sighed it was going to be a long walk. Looking back at the building of Misty Moon apartments.

The building I have seen it before. I have been this far out of Manehatten but it's rare for any of our kind to get out this far. But what's sad that most of us would never know what's going on. Whisker's and the guards went southeast from Manehatten to go through an area of the land called the nesting lands of the Rad Scorpions. I didn't know what to think of it but Whisper gave Lily and I new weapons. A little pistol for me just in case I couldn't aim my gun on my leg. She gave Lily's rifle that she used her entire life. Till she was killed many years later.

The walk was going to take four days. But one day to get into the nesting grounds. I don't know why they wanted to go through there but I had to ask. "Whisper why are we going through the land like this?" Whisper turned her head to look at me a smile forming on her face.

"Well it's simple ponies don't trust our kind. So I felt it's an easy way to get there and we might find the other species heading this way as well. So we might find ourselves more friends. But I wouldn't hope too much." A sigh came from me shaking my head. But I walked beside Whisper I had to know what happen to her home.

"Whisper if I may what happen to your family?" Whisper sighed softly.

"I'm from the Whitetail woods. The fact that we even lived there upset the ponies greatly. I never understood why but they felt that we were a blight on what they called their world. But I don't blame them ponies controlled this world before they lost it to their stupidity. But again it's not our world it was theirs. I do feel though that if they wished to have their world back they should clean it." I gave a quick nod

"I agree. But for me and my kind, we are just sewer rats. We kind of were a problem to the ponies of the city and carried sickness in the past. But it wouldn't have been so bad if they knew what was to come. But again the ponies didn't even care if we were there or not in Manehatten. But then we met Wheel tread and then he gave them something that made them want to feel threatened by us." Closing my eyes but I wished to get to know her. So I had to try to figure out how.

"I do have another question how are you a princess?" Whisper looked toward's me as we walked she just had a smile on her face.

"I well lied about that. My father was the king of our little home. But I didn't want to be a princess. But my guard's feel that's the only way to get others to follow us. Now we were the last ones out. My father and the other's went on ahead. So I am hoping we will meet them." She looked very hopeful well thanks to her father. We do have many of the Rat Creepers here today. But there was an issue. We stopped in front of a sign it said on the sign. The nest turns back.

"So this is the nest. How bad is it in there?" Looking in I saw many burrows that had deep dark tunnels going into the ground and there was one long line through there. I have a feeling that we might trigger something. I could see small little scorpions skittering about they ran away from seeing us. But it didn't bring the big one's to attack us.

"How bad? I don't know. But I have fought one of them before. They can get pretty big. I heard that there are queen's and they’re the most deadly of them all. So maybe we walk around slowly and try to get past this cleanly." Whisper looked at me with a great amount of fear in her eyes. A smile formed across my face I patted her shoulder.

"I'm sure we will be okay. All we have to do is go through some areas full of bugs. So maybe we will find out how to get past them?" I said with a shrug. Our group slowly went into the nest leaving the sign behind.

The nest

We walked through the nest it was a deadly looking place. The smell of decay everywhere old bodies on the ground of decaying and already fully decayed to bones. There are old broken weapons on the ground and ammo casing. It was best to stay quiet then trying to speak in this trek through this deadly land. Looking around I tried to catch if anything would surprise us.

This nest from what I learned from whisper is the biggest in Equestria. There is more nest but this nest is the one that is normally left alone. Looking down to the ground. I found a metal apple with the pin still in it. But that's not the only one I found. Then we stopped seeing ponies stuck in the wall of the nest. They had eggs laid around them. They looked alive. One of them is awake she looked scared for her life.

"Pl..ease help me." I looked to the other's Lily didn't know what to think and looked to Whisper and the guards. We wanted to help her but would that be a bad idea? I was about to get closer to free her. But the egg's started hatching and many little rad scorpions crawled all over the body of the mare. They started to eat her alive. I watched my eyes fixed on the scene. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. A guard softly said.

"Game over rat's game over." The mare screamed while every inch of her was eaten. I watched in horror as the little bugs eat through her fur. Then through her muscle and then after a while, the mare died from shock. After a while, all that was left were bloody bones and some origins. There are many ponies and other creatures that will get the same fate if we do nothing.

"I think we better save them. But I feel if we do.. it will trigger the nest. So Whiskers are you ready?" I looked at Whisper nodding Lily nodding cocking her gun and I went to another nest I saw a female Rat Creeper. "Hey, I am.." She put a paw over my mouth hushing me. She already cut herself out and stood there she is one of those strong warrior types.

"Softpaw is my name" Nodding and she grabbed her bag she had many weapons. I did wish to get to know her but. I looking at Softpaw I noticed she has been out here longer than any of us. She turned to me shrugging. "I'm from the ghastly Gorge. The eels have taken over most of the area and it's hard to live there now. I'm the only one left. I heard a rumor of a bunch of our race meeting in one spot." I nodded while the other's cut down ponies and hell hounds.

They all got their weapons and the hell hound's stayed with us as well as the ponies. The area started to shake and we heard hissing and screeching the ground around us broke free while many large scorpions came out of the ground. We were surrounded but at first, they didn't attack. It's like they were waiting for something. Our group along with the ponies and hell hound's attacked. We started running down the path to get out of the nest. it wasn't going to be easy since the nest was a long path to get through.

Each time we ran past a tunnel heading down to their nest more came out. Whisper yelled to all the groups. "Stay close to each other don't let them blindside you!!" A pony yells "Fire in the hole!!" We all ducked and this unicorn mare along with a stallion used flamethrower’s burning the entire area way came from while behind them two mare's fired lasers at the creatures. "Get back up!!" We all got back up and the Hell hounds went on again to take care of the rest. The to flame-throwing ponies burned the tunnels to at least try to keep them from coming up after us. At the moment it was pretty easy for us to kill these things. But they just kept coming.

"Were almost there!!" A hellhound said growing and when we got close to getting out the nest the ground started to shake and groan and the Rad Scorpions stopped following us. The way we came I saw a large puff of dirt and dust and a loud angry screech.

The mare that held the Flamethrower yelled. "Thee queen She bee here." I looked we still had all our group but we had been pushed here like a herd. Looking at all the bones and then to the other side of the way out. It's the way out of the nest but we would have to fight this thing.

"Come on!!!" I yelled. "We can't allow ourselves to die because this thing treated us like a herd. Get in position and ready to fire on it. Flamers in front use y our fuel then get behind us to refuel and then gunner's unload on them. Hell Hound's find a way to slow it down and break its legs. Whisper get your guard's and get the weakest and the sickest out of here."

Whisper blinks looking at me. "What about you?" I turned to her smirking.

"Eh, I am just a simple everyday trader rat. I don't see the point of me living but you're needed more. Take Lily with you please." Lily blinks.

"No, I am going..." I cut her off.

"No, you're going. Get going now." Whisper, Lily, Her guard's, and some very sickly ponies and other creatures rush on behind us to the way out. I turn and The flamers slowly stand in front as the gunners get ready the same with the hell hounds. I took a deep breath while the large queen slowly crawled to us. The other's stayed behind to wait for their share of scraps from our bodies. I couldn't ask all these creatures and ponies to stay behind and fight with me.

My heart started to beat sweat poured down my body. I feel the blood running through my veins. I could smell the other's they had feared all over them. hearing the weapons cock hearing the hell hound's growl. The feel felt like the world slowed down just for this moment. I needed to yell the time for the flamers to shoot their fuel out and then refuel. The creature got closer.

"Wait for it.." I calmly said. "Wait for it...Wait for it." The queen went over a line that connected her nest with the normal land. "NOW!!!" The flamer ponies started to release the flame. The heat of the fire created ozen that caused the air to burn. It licked even our bodies but we didn't allow it to stop us. The Queen screamed in pain. The flame's kept firing their fuel. When it ran out they quickly rushed behind us and we let out our bullet's. The Queen burned from the flames. She screamed in pain. But even some of her young were taken down by the flame. The hell hounds rushed in to do their job ignoring the flames. using their sharp claw's break her legs.

Most flew away tossing the leg's aside they get covered in her blood. The queen used its claws to try to get the two hell hounds but instead of picking them up she smashed them back away and they flew hitting the ground hard they groaned and couldn't move. I felt shit.. then the flame's quickly got back in front started to burn the queen again. The Queen had an idea though. She tossed a heavy amount of sand to block the flames. Then she got closer smashing the flamers away making their flame throwers fly away from them and they leaked fuel.

We all have had reloaded and started firing again and she smashed some of the ponies down. But thankfully it didn't kill them. From what I noticed she wanted them alive. But when she came to me and Soft paw she was about to smash me harder then other's. "No..." I couldn't move fast enough but Soft paw pushed me all the way the queen smashing down on Soft Paw's tail she screamed in pain. The tail was completely removed from her. I looked at all the ponies hurt and hell hounds. I was the last standing. The smaller scorpion's started to come towards us. I looked up the Queen ready to do one final strike on me. Then I heard a yell.

"CHARGE!!!" I turned seeing more of my kind even a few steel rangers. Wait they those arent steel.ranger's their armor is made from junk. I saw a larger white rat wearing a cape. He held a sword and another wore a black cape. He had a large sword.

"Justin!!"

"Jenner!! Hurry save them!!" The rat nodded. The grey rat helped get the others. I looked at the large rat who looked like a king. He came over to me with Whisper not far behind him. "Hello there. I'm Justine king Id hate to cut this meeting short of course but I think we must be going."

I shook my head. "Keep this thing busy we need to kill it.. Or more will be killed."

"Are you crazy kid?! "The king asked me.

"If I told you yes would you let me marry your daughter?" I blinked putting a paw to my mouth. "I mean if I said I am would you let me court your daughter," I said with a smirk. Justine blinks looks to me then to Whisper. Then to me again he had the look of surprise on his face.

"I met him in the sewer's father he was crazy enough to make it that far so if he beats this thing..eh why not?" Whisper just shrugged. I smirked and looked at the metal apple I found. Then looked at the rat's using their spear's and other weapons

"Alright if you keep her at bay enough I am going to use this." Lifting the metal apple. "Shove in her mouth that means I have to shove it deep in there." Justin nodded rushing to join his troops. I looked at the metal apple seeing the pin and rushed as fast as I could up to the large Queen. She screeched at me and two of the guard's forced its mouth open. I pulled the pin and shoved the apple deep into the Queen's mouth making her swallow it. I held her mouth shut closing my eyes. I felt I had a good life and then after a while, I heard an explosion and I flew far away from the creature and landed with a hard thud a little farther away from it.

Parts of the large Queen started to rain down from the sky along with its blood. I slowly stood up groaning felt a bit dizzy. But after this Justine slapped me hard into the back and that took a breath out of me. "OH OH!! No one would ever think of doing that my friend. We came here with the junk reapers. They were chased out of their home. So we had to find a way to get to you. I chuckled and slowly walked and then said.

"Your welcome...now if you excuse me the world around is spinning if you could stop it for me. I would gladly walk with you back to were ever your going." I said with a goofy laugh and I shook my head groaning. " Ow. I am happy I could help. That was very painful."

"Well, then you get to court my daughter.." I blinked smiling looking to Whisper who shrugged looking impressed but I looked behind Justin and noticed Jenner was extremely jealous. I had a feeling I would deal with him later. But that was it for the nest and well we went on our way.

"Then we went on our way. I am sorry Snow. I am very tired. I will tell you more tomorrow." He said to me weakly. He lay back down to rest. Snow sighed. "Goodnight granddaughter." Her grandmother walked in and frowned.

"Oh Whisker's are you telling her stories of your adventure's again?"

"I'm just explaining how we found Reaper fields and made it our home my love.." He reached to her with his paw and she held it.

"Oh Whisker's you can't do this anymore. You need to rest." Snow walked backward's listening to the two lovers ‘arguments.

" I know the love I know.. But you just came back to me after your journey of seeing Equestria. I wish you were here to meet the wolf." Whisper sighed and stroked her husband's paw.

"You know I can't stay in one place long. But I am back and now I am going to help take care of you. I am sure Kip is very overworked." Whisker's laughed he looked weaker and looked to his granddaughter.

"Whisper best to call for the guards to come and take her home to her mother." Whisper looked at Snow with a gentle smile.

"Of course." She was about to head outside when Bulwark walked in.

"Excuse me. Whisper!!" The unicorn mare smiled.

"Oh, my Bulwark you look so beautiful with all those scar's" Bulwark looked over her body shrugging and looked to snow a gentle smile forms on the old mare's face. She has scars all over her face it blocks that beauty she has. But she doesn’t seem to care.

" I can take here home if you two want to talk?" Whisper and Cannon nod. "Come on kiddo." Snow followed Bulwark out of the hospital but they didn't go right to her home they went to Kip’s home. She had a nursery into her home to help the new families raise their children by giving them tips and letting them rest here when they’re at work. Bulwark and Snow walked in and it was empty of kids for the day. Since it was very late. But Kip was sitting in a chair reading a book.

"Still up I see." Kip blinked. "Oh!! did I miss our dinner date?"

"Not at all I am going to take Snow home and then we can go on it." Kip nodded. Bulwark walked out of Kip’s home and walked down the road to get to Snow's home. it was a calm night the guards are out in force since the pact came. Silver Gunner patrolled in his heavy heavy armor. Ra proto patrolled around the gate and Tinny stayed right on the gate like always. The Steel ranger's stood in front of homes the new Enclave watched the sky. Each one waved their hooves at the little Snow.

Snow forgot how kind the steel ranger's and the new enclave are. They always protected her. But now they look to be protecting the entire town. She thought why would they be doing this. But she knew why. Bulwark stood by Snow's door "Goodnight little one." Snow nodded and went inside. Bulwark sighed and looked towards the gate. She climbed up the wall to sit by Tiny.

"How does it look Tiny?" The large Griffin turned to her and smirked.

"Calm like the last 100 times you asked me. Don't worry I am on the top of my game. I won't allow anything to happen to the future. You go have your dinner with Kip." Bulwark had a smile form on her face.

"Thank you Tiny." He gave a nod and she jumped down. Then She saw the three mares that she met after Tiria's death. All three of them were married now she was told. She never got their names. Because they only showed their faces to Tiria. But they stood guard on the gate along with Tiny. They even built a home for themselves here. It made her feel safer to have Apple jack's rangers and the new enclave here. Not all of them of course the ones that live here.

She went back into the cave to meet Kip for the dinner. She sat at her normal table. But she noticed Black Feather, Skull Crusher, and Jonon sitting at the other table. After she walked in Blaze, Star shooter and Dr. Slice came in. She was able to hear them.

"It doesn’t look good he might die soon. "Dr. Slice calmly said.

" I noticed he looks so weak and little snow is so young. She doesn’t deserve to see him die like that." Blaze answered

Skull Crusher snorted in anger. "He's a warrior. A warrior knows when old age will take them. He will be remembered like he always is."

"Do you guys ever miss the island?" Star Shooter asked she got eye's looking at her but they all smile.
