Memories Of Blood part 2
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe stench of blood assaulted Isaac's senses as his pulse rifle blazed into life, mowing down the incoming trio of pack mid-leap. Isaac looked around, unleashing short bursts of fire when ever a necromorph entered into his vision.
But no matter how hard he tried, Isaac couldn't block them out. The screams of the terrified and the dying filled the engineers ears as he fought on against the horde. “Isaac, I don't think they can keep fighting! It looks like we're starting to be over run!” A trickle of panic resonated in Ellie's words as she called over her shoulder from behind him.
Isaac gave no reply. Instead, the engineer's thoughts raced with ideas to try to rally the surviving humans when a shout shattered his thinking. “FIGHT! IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE, FIGHT FOR YOUR VERY LIVES!!!” Captain Hector Concarne's booming shout could be heard for miles.
Isaac turned to see the man atop a staircase, firing a pulse rifle into the mass of writhing necromorph bodies below. On both sides of him were a myriad of both simple crew and security forces. The hand-full of humans had a grim expression etched onto their faces as they unleashed a hail of pulse fire into the ravaging horde.
“Ellie! Get to the captain now!” Isaac shouted over his shoulder to the woman. Ellie gave him a simple nod and the two sprinted towards the group of human survivors. The trio, ( actually just Isaac and Ellie) tore through the crowd of necromorphs as they surged towards the captain and his small group.
As Isaac neared the staircase that the captain stood atop, the engineer noticed something in the glow of the stars. The captain held something aloft in his right hand, and with a grunt, the captain threw...something.
Isaac yanked the little girl off of his back and grabbed Ellie. With a protest from both the engineer slammed them into the ground beneath him only Isaac to cover them both with his body.
WHABOOM!
The incinerate bomb exploded brilliantly, sending small sparks every where which quickly grew into a raging inferno that consumed what ever it touched. Both humans and necromorphs that were touched by any sparks were quickly engulfed in flame. In less than a minute the whole bridge was filled with a blinding light from a flash fire.
Isaac yanked the two girls out from under him and pushed them up the stairs, desperate to get both them and himself away from the rapidly expanding inferno. The dying screeches of necromorphs and humans alike filled the humans ears alongside the cackling of flames.
“Fire hazard detected. Initiating fire combat protocol thirty-two.” The tin automated voice of the ships systems reverberated through the hall and massive sprinklers sizzled into life. In mere moments Isaac and the remaining humans were all soaked through as the massive downfall of water quickly extinguished the flames.
Ellie looked at Isaac and the engineer simply shrugged his shoulders as the sprinkler system continued to pour down and the handful of humans.
…
The smell of acrid smoke and death slammed into Isaac's senses, the many bodies of the dead littered the dimly lit hall of the bridge and yet the engineer paid no attention to it.
Isaac continued to stroke the girls hair. The man whispered words of comfort into her ear and held her tight. “Nel.” The whisper was barely audible to Isaac.
The girl in his arms squirmed a little, burying her face into the mans chest plates. “My name is Nel.” She whispered again.
Isaac tightened his hug around the girl and began to rock her back and forth slowly. Within a handful of minutes, the little one was sleeping. That's when Isaac noticed the abrupt silence from the group.
“As I was saying, the...necromorphs...have done...something to the ships engines. Oxygen is siphoned out of the ship at an alarming rate and all communications are down. There is no hope of repairing the ship at this point.” The captain whispered to the group.
A security marine stood up and pointed a finger menacingly at the engineer, “This is all your FUCKING fault you piece of shit. I bet if you had nev-”
“Stow it private. I brought the marker on the ship under direct orders from Earth Gov. Isaac had nothing to do with it. Now stop your bitching and sit down. Be quiet about it too. The little one is getting some sleep. God only knows she needs it.” The captains growl was barely audible but had a very noticeable effect, the marine paled and lowered himself to the ground.
“Isaac. Any ideas?” Ellie glanced at the engineer. Isaac was lost, staring down at the girl snuggled against his chest. The man slowly rocked back and forth, stroking the girls hair.
“Our best shot is to get the escape pods and wire the ship to self destruct. Where are they?” Isaac barely whispered, never taking his eyes off of the girl in his care.
“They're right down the hall from the bridge. The thing is...outside this room, the ships power is down. The pods are supposed to be on an emergency backup generator but the damn things took that out too from the looks of it.” The captain muttered, glancing around the dimly lit, blood streaked bridge.
“But... if I can get to get to the main power grid I can redirect power from here to the escape pods. The big problem is...the main power grid is on the other end of the ship.” The captain muttered darkly before swearing again.
“Well. It looks like we're going to go for a walk.” Isaac said blankly. The engineer began to stand but the grizzled captain waved for him to sit down. “Sit your ass down kid. There's something else.”
The old man look over to the carnage right in front of them. “ The code to tamper with the main power grid, for security reasons, is split into two parts. One half goes to the captain. The other goes with the ships head engineer...” The captain began to slow down.
“And he's dead somewhere in the ship, and you don't know where he is do you?” Ellie finished darkly.
The captain shook his head. “Actually I do know where his body is.”
Ellie raised an eye brow questioningly at the captain. “Care to explain?”
The captain sighed gloomily, “ After everything started going down hill I attempted to contact the poor sod. Transmission lasted 3 seconds before he was killed by something we couldn't see. But I saw enough to know where in the ship the poor bastard died. I had it confirmed by checking his R.I.G location via med bay computers. We track everyone's R.I.G through those systems specifically in case of emergencies.”
“But you still haven't said where the bloke is.” Ellie said quickly.
The captains grimace deepened, “That's because it's something you don't need to worry about it. Whats left of my crew and I are going into the bowels of the ship to grab the other half of the code. You two and the little one are going to get those pods online. Then, no matter what, you two are going to haul ass to get the little one out of this shit hole.”
Isaac nodded along grimly, “Alright. Lets get this fucking shit over with.”
…
No. Nonononononononononononono. Hell to the fucking no. Isaac fought with absolutely every fiber of being. The human struggled to stem the flow of memories as they wormed their way into his head, forcing him to relive it.
He remembered the blood soaked path he and Ellie carved through the ship to reach the ships main power grid.
No no no no no NO NO NO HELL NO FUCK THIS!
Isaac watched the captain give one last transmission to him, the other half of the codes needed to tamper with the main power grid, before his blood painted the screen and fizzled out.
He watched as he sprinted through the ship, little one bouncing along on his shoulders.
NO
NO
NO
NO
Issac...he would be damned if he watched it happen again.
Pain. Pain surged through his hands and the engineers eyes flew open.
Isaac looked down upon his bare fist, blood seeped through his fingers as his nails dug into the flesh of his palm.
But...
What the fuck is with this strange golden aura?
There was a strange golden aura wrapping around his... whole body from the looks of it,
Bits and pieces of the memories he was reliving flashed through his eyes as the engineer struggled to look around at his surroundings.
Sterile white every where...and six pastel colored...ponies sat huddled around a mirror which was... playing his memories.
HIS... fucking....memories. Like a god damned fucking movie. Isaac ground his teeth as rage seethed through his whole being. He was about to scream obsceneties at the six for even daring to look at this when he noticed her.
The regal white unicorn/pegasus hybrid... her horn glowed with a majestic golden aura.
Isaac looked around for some thing. Anything. With just one thought in mind.
Right next to him was a small wooden table stand with a few pieces of shit the pissed off man cared nothing for.
Rage swelled through every fiber of his being as he forced himself to leave the bed. Rage clouded his vision red as the memories continue to pour forth into his school forcing him to relive the shit he knew he'd be dreaming about anyway.
The man lifted the small bed side table without any of the fucking ponies noticing. Isaac slowly stalked forward, end table raised high as unfiltered fury surged through his whole body.
Three steps behind the white bitch.
Two.
One.
“YOU FUCKING BITCH!” Isaac screamed at the top of his lungs before swinging the table down onto the unsuspecting head of his victim. The brilliant golden aura shattered and the forced memories vanished from his skull as well as the grandiose mirror.
The large white bitch barely managed to raise her dazed head again before he struck again.
The human ignored the sudden screams of fear as he began to wail blow upon blow with his weapon. Each hit broke the table further and further until eventually he was just wailing away with table legs.
“HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!” The human roared in fury.
As the humans arm came crashing down again, he felt his momentum suddenly stop. The enraged human looked up at his hand to see it encased a lavender aura.
Isaac swore and struck out with the other hand only for that to be encased with the same aura.
The engineers head swerved about looking for the source. The small lavender unicorn locked eyes as his gaze shifted over to her. She opened her mouth to speak, but gasped as Isaac kicked his foot into the downed whores rib cage.
Isaac cocked his leg for another kick but felt his whole body stiffen. The human couldn't even move his head.
“C-c-calm down Isaac.” One of the fucking ponies to his right managed to cry out.
“HELL NO! FUCK ALL OF YOU! I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL FUCKING MAKE YOU PAY!!”
“Please Isaac. Just calm down. We understand that you've been through a lot bu-”
“But nothing you little fucking bitch. How fucking dare you just go through my head like. How fucking dare you force me to relive all the shit with every fucking detail in tact. It's bad enough I can't go a night without dreaming about it but then you go and pull this shit? FUCK YOU!” Isaac seethed to the unseen pony he roared at.
Somewhere to Isaac's right a door slammed open. “What is going...on....in...here.” An unmistakeably male voice stuttered out. The human heard hoof steps rush into the room and a snow white stallion pony stepped into the engineer's view. The unnamed stallion had on some of that fancy guard armor on and his mane was a dark blue with a lighter blue streak in it.
The guard pony stood up and turned to glare at the human. “What did you do?” The stallion hissed at the ensnared man.
“Shining pleas-”
“WHAT DID YOU DO?” The guard pony roared at the human.
“ Enough!” Another voice boomed from Isaac's blind side.
“Twilight Sparkle, release your hold upon him. We, I mean, I will speak with him.”
The force holding Isaac stock still disappeared and the human lowered his arms. The human glared daggers into the eyes of the little guard pony that was staring up at him with pure hatred in his eyes.
“Now all of you... leave us.” The regal voice demanded. Isaac never shifted his gaze from his stare down opponent as hoof steps scuttled by behind him, little sniffles and quiet sobs faded away as the other six ponies he was furious with filed out of the room.
“ I said to leave Shining Armor. Now do as you are told.”
Shining Armor glared deeper at Isaac before slowly turning and walking away.
Isaac turned to watch the stallion march past the other hybrid thing.
“Well Isaac. Let us have a...how do they say it these days... a talk.”
To Be continued...
Firstly, I want to apologize for how horrendously late this thing is. Some stuff has been going in my life but thats no excuse for how late this was. Never.Again. Yes it was short, I apologize, but this chapter gave me just as much trouble in the older version. Anyway, hope you enjoy this short piece of way too late shit.
