Chapters "Why aren't you exited Trevor?" A familiar voiced asked as Trevor looked down at his plate.
"Blueblood, It's the third time this week I have to listen to these ponies whine about petty issues." Trevor responds to Blueblood, who's sitting at the opposite side of the royal dinner table.
"But your a member of the family, you have to!" He pleaded, visibly distressed at the lack of enthusiasm that Trevor showed on his face.
"I'm going to do it, no need to get all worked up." Trevor slugishly responded as he picked at his salad.
It was Trevor's turn to cover for his Aunt, Princess Celestia, in day courts. He didn't mind doing it, but it always ended up with one or two ponies thinking they could con him because he is a human. In fact, he is a rare breed. The only human in Equestria. When Princess Celestia found out about him, she took him in, and gave him the title of Prince. While this was an honor, he only felt more and more alienated from the ponies he ruled over. Instead of making tons of friends, Trevor always hung around Celestia, Blueblood, and on occasion, Luna. But this never stopped him... he said he was happy right?
"Only two more weeks 'till Celestia gets back." Blueblood reminded Trevor as he set his fork down.
"Hey Blue, I think I'm going to get to it early today. I want to have time to relax afterwards." And with that being said, Trevor stood up and walked out of the dining hall.
The castle always felt so empty on Saturdays. Saturdays are usually the days that ponies choose to relax and enjoy fellowship. It was a complete one eighty for Trevor though, on Earth, Saturdays are always the busiest. Earth. The very thought of his home made Trevor cringe. He left Earth at the worst time possible. He just got his licence, a steady job, graduated from high school, got a date with a nice girl... things were really looking up... But he doesn't care to think about it anymore. The only thing that matters now is this pony land, where colorful horses talk.
The trumpets sounded as Trevor neared the door to the throne room.
"Announcing His Royal Highness, Prince Trevor! Presiding over day court on the first of Evershire's Evelight!" A guard yelled as the lined up ponies bowed towards him. Many of the ponies he had never seen before, but soon he would have to play therapist for them.
Trevor took a seat on his Aunt's throne and motioned his hand for the first appointment.
"Prince, it is an honor to stand in your presence... you are even more handsome than the paintings." A purple mare states, trying to use flattery to loosen him up.
"Thank you, You are too kind. What is your name?" He asks, masking a response he wants to whip at her, but he can't.
"Velvet Cross, your highness." She bowed as Trevor stoked his small beard.
"Nice to make your acquaintance Miss Velvet. What brings you to day court?" Velvet stands back up and looks at him directly in the eyes.
"Well, I was hoping to plead my case on charges."
"Alright, what were the charges, and what's your defense?" Trevor asks taking out a cigar from a box next to the throne.
"I was accused of stealing. The Canterlot Art Gallery accused me of stealing a sculpture, that since then has been recovered. They say I stole a sculpture of Starswirl the Bearded, by Ponardo the Great." she said as Trevor lit his cigar.
"I see, was the accusing party able to make it today?" Trevor asks as he puffs a small cloud of smoke.
"well, no... Your highness... They said they couldn't make it the days I could be in Canterlot..."
"Your case has been hereby put in recess. It will remain in recess until the prosecuting party can attend a court date. Velvet, you will be given free transportation to your court date. Have a nice day." The prince lets out with a plastered on smile.
"Thank you so very much Prince!" The eager pony bowed and trotted out happily.
Although Trevor hated day court, he enjoyed seeing normal ponies in it. The so called nobles were very much a pain to progress, especially one called Filthy Rich. Filthy was not technically a noble, but he still was rich. The princesses have special ways to deal with him in particular, but he still trys to manipulate them. Trevor sighed as the next pony walked in, with a special swagger.
"Prince Trevor, Even Question is here to see you sir." The guard said, announcing the guest.
"Prince, I came here to bring an injustice to your attention. There is a pony who was wrongfully murdered. The Fillydalphia guard shot down an unarmed pony. Forty-one shots were fired on a pony named Darkest hour. Mr. Hour was walking home at two in the morning when he was mistaken for criminal. The protectors saw him... And fired forty-one shots. Nineteen magic rounds struck him, killing him. I plead this case before you to maybe help numb the pain I am experiencing for losing my friend." A yellow furred pony states.
"Well, I am very sorry for your loss... But unfortunately I can not see to your case. Under law four, section three, any crimes commited during the night must be pleaded to the ruler of the night. If I may add, it seems like there is something unknown to me that may shed some more light on this subject. I feel like there I more depth to this. I'm sorry sir, but that's all I can add. Have a nice day, and don't forget to schedule a night court appointment." Trevor took another puff of his cigar and nodded his head.
The stallion looked at the prince in frustration and bowed. His feathers ruffled on his wings as he got up and walked away. At this point, Trevor started to care less and less. He knew some ponies would think he was inferior. It was obvious. The looks on their faces tell him all he needs to know. It's quite sad, especially since the princesses have been pushing ideas of acceptance. Many people don't care for it either, it seems like a curse.
"Sir, I suggest you push these issues to a later date... Princess Celestia is back." Trevor's personal guard comes up to him and says with intent.
So much for a cigar. Trevor thought to himself as he sighed, anxious to see the Princess.
"That's probably for the best, take care of it Silver Sword." With that being said, the guard salutes and walks off.
Trevor took his cigar and took a few more puffs and put it out on an ashtray located next to the cigar box. He sighed again looking at his nicotine fix being put out. Celestia is going to flip... again. Screw it.
Princess Celestia walked though the giant, solid gold doors, into the main throne room. She stopped walking, lifting her nose to the air. Trevor saw her smell the air and instantly, a look of disapproval shot straight at the only human in the room. Without breaking her glance, Celestia walked over to the guard by the door and whispered in his ear. The guard's look became frightened as he saluted and ushered all the other solders out of the room. Trevor knew what was going to happen... Celestia was very pissed.
"Trevor. Get. Down. From. There. NOW!" The Princess yelled at him as she stared him down with a vengeance.
"Your not my mother." The Prince deadpanned as he picked up his box of smokes and walked towards her.
"I thought I told you not to ever I MEAN EVER smoke EVER AGAIN!" She yelled almost enraged at the top of her voice.
"Well I'm sorry to let you down, again." He yet again commented like nothing touched him.
"If you won't respect my rules, you will be confined to your room." Celestia said, quickly loosing all emotion in her face. But Trevor knew how angry she was at him. She hadn't been this angry since he intentionally defaced statues in the Royal Gardens.
"You can have these, it's not like I care anyway."
"Good. I was going to take them. Also, I'm glad to announce that I personally have passed a law that will ban all tobacco products... effective tomorrow." Celestia growled as she grabbed the box with her magic.
"Wow! I'm so proud for the ruler of Equestria! I heard she's so conceded, that she has to throw a festival for herself annually! Also! I heard her ass keeps getting fatter and fatter because she can't resist every GODDAMNED CAKE SHE SEES!" He yelled back as he started shaking from anger.
"I thought I raised you better than this! But apparently I did not." She places the box on the ground and incinerated it on the spot. It sat on the marble floors, burning. "Go to your room. Before I put you in a world of pain." She sighed as she looked down at the burning ashes of the cigar box.
"So you mean exist here? Cause I've been here for the past five years. I don't know if you heard, but this place is my personal hell. Good day, Hitler." Trevor spat out of his mouth at her as he walked by, exiting to the staircase that leads to the bedrooms.
A guard walks up to him as he enters the staircase, still looking visibly distressed.
"Prince... is it... ok... if we return to post?" He asks nervously.
"I wouldn't right now, haven't you heard? Excitement is just a fad." And with that, he walks off leaving the guards behind him.
Goosebumps shivered all over Trevor's body as he sat next to his bed on the carpet. He couldn't get his mind over the fact that he had actually said those things to Celestia. I'm such a terrible person... and she took me in... loved me, only for me to be this way to her. His thoughts raced over all the events of the past five years of his Princehood in Equestria.
It all started when he woke up, unaware of where exactly he was. The first thing he saw was a yellow pony's hoof in his face... then waking up in the streets of Canterlot. Something tied him up like a dog, but he easily broke free from the rope collar that was made for him. Trevor was unaware, disoriented, and really hungry. For hours he wondered the streets, asking ponies to spare anything they had for him... not one of them even took the time to talk to him. After hours of walking, thirst and hunger crippled him. He collapsed in the street ans sat for what seemed like an eternity, then he saw her. Princess Celestia. But at the time, he didn't care... he just knew at least that one could help him.
"Please I need water..." Trevor croaked out as he slightly lifted his hands off the paved sidewalk.
The white pony gasped and brought her hoof up to her mouth.
"Don't worry human... I will take care of you." She said as she picked him up and put him on her back.
After being taken in by the Princess, he can't remember anything further. He passed out due to dehydration. His consciousness regained a after a day in the hospital infirmary. Waking up threw him off, solely by the odd situation he was in... A world of ponies that tied him up, refused to help him, and eventually being taken in by the ruler of these ponies. Trevor was glad he was alive, but unsure of who took him in.
Ever since being taken in, Trevor practically only trusted Celestia. As he grew close to her, she grew closer to him as well. Celestia started to talk to Trevor about her feelings more regularly. She told him about her sister, and how she gave into Nightmare Moon. Trevor still remembers the night that she returned... She visited him, and requested something from him.
"Hello." Trevor heard out from the darkness of his room.
"Umm... Hi?" He responded uncertainly, asking no one in particular.
Just as Trevor began to doubt his sanity, a large black pony appeared in front of his bed. It stood as tall as Celestia did, with aqua colored eyes. Trevor felt a cold shiver down his spine, but somehow... he didn't feel scared. He actually was very curious...
"I heard that you were appointed as a Prince." The mare said in a calm tone, giving him a smile that showed him her fangs.
"That's right. Who are you?" He asks back after acknowledging her statement.
"The new ruler of Equestria. Don't worry, you won't lose your title... I'm just here for Celestia." As the intimidating pony gave its demands, Trevor knew who he was talking to.
"Are you the 'mare in the moon' as they put it?"
"Ahh! I see someone is familiar with my work... Being honest, I am much more than just a mare in a moon. I'm the real princess of Equestria! Not Celestia." The mare's emotions varied and were angry in nature. Her voice seemed to spit out a harsh variety of the ways she said 'Celestia'. Her hatred for the ruler was blatantly obvious.
"So what makes you entitled to the position?" Trevor asked hoping to realize what exactly was wrong with her.
"Well you see my dear prince... I have to tell you, I am her sister." The nightmare responded with apprehension.
"I see, I see. Continue..." He said keeping a poker face.
"My rule of the night was unappreciated, my sister was appallingly prideful. She never paid attention to me. They never paid attention to me." She said looking away at the wall.
"So?"
"So what! Does thou intend to question us so!" The pony said with increased anger.
"Yes I do. I want to understand you. So please, let's be civil and continue the conversation." Trevor replied staring the pony down intensely, as she tried to break his mind.
"You are not afraid of me. I admire that." The pony said cracking a smile.
"Well there's not much to be afraid of..." The prince slashed back at the mare, taking her back.
"If thou isn't afraid of us... I can make that change..." She growled in a low voice as she got too close for comfort.
"You don't have to make some kind of display to prove how tough you are. I already know how tough you are, and I know your weaknesses... and pride is the first one." The mare stood speechless while Trevor stared at her. He felt all her pain as he sat there staring at her. Her eyes told him all that he needed to know. She was scared, helpless, alone. she was alone.
"So? What's the point?" She finally responded, mustering a little emotion in her words.
"Well, your never going to win like that. I know everything your trying to hide, and then some. Your alone, scared, angry, confused, and blind of the outcome of all this." Trevor sliced the nightmare apart internally. He saw her tears being fought back into her eyes.
"What do you want?" Her voice cracked.
"To see you happy."
"Then you will help me?" She asks as her toughness melts away.
"No. I won't. Simply because it won't make you happy." The mare's face lets off a look of realization as she comes to terms with what he just said. "You might think your happy for a while, but I promise you will miss Celestia."
"She caused all this!!!" The mare in the moon shouts at me.
"No. You did. You were jealous. You were hubris. You took the grand life you had and threw it away!" Her face succumbed to the amounting tears, and she wept.
"So! What can I do now!?" She shouts through her tears.
"Make things right. Apologize. Make this stop! Work things out with Celestia! All you need to do is tell her how you feel... how you felt, what lesson you've learned."
"She will never take me back... ever."
"Well then you don't know her. I think you've made in your mind an image of her that's false." Trevor said as he got up off the bed and slowly inched closer to the pony.
"I-I I'm sorry..." She stammered as he put his arms around her in a hug.
"Hey, it's ok... just relax. It will take time, but I think everything will work out." The mare flinched as she continued crying, startled by the embrace.
"No it's not..."
"Your defeating yourself..." She hugged tighter as he stood there, bearing the weight of the tall mare.
"I know..." She sobbed into his ear.
"Come on, let's go see Celestia. I'll help you through this..."
"No! You cannot help me! I must help myself... I must defeat her!" She shouted, breaking the hug.
"If you destroy her you will only make yourself more miserable."
"You do not know anything to what I'm going through! You're but a foolish prince with everything at his hooves..." She fought back as the tension between the two heightened.
"I may have everything before me, but it doesn't mean I don't feel pain. We all feel pain. It's a fact of life. My family, friends... it was all ripped away from me when I was transferred here without my approval. I had no say whatsoever."
"That may be so, but I will prevail. As me! And you, Prince... you will be my prize." The mare hissed as she was consumed by anger and rage. "You will see your foolish arrogance and you will submit to me... Some might even say you are handsome."
Trevor was slightly caught off guard by the words coming from the villainous pony. He knew now she was unable to be changed. The nightmare will continue... never to cease. Chills flew up and down his spine, causing him to shutter slightly. The mare's eyes had dried up. Her face completely devoid of any regret or pain stared at him. Laughing.
"I will see you soon... handsome Prince... "
With that, she disappeared into the darkness of the palace to exact her revenge on Celestia, and destroy harmony. She was later stopped by the element bearers of harmony and banished to an unknown place. Ever since then whenever he thought about those events... his whole body shivered... handsome Prince... The very words struck fear in the deepest part of his soul.
Nightmare Moon taught Trevor something he desperately tried to dismiss... his love for Celestia. He loved her as he loved his mother on Earth. Celestia looked out for him as his guardian, which he desperately needed. Trevor would have not survived in Equestria without her care. No matter how much she limited him... He loved her. He loved her so much that the very fact of her being gone for extended periods of time gave him anxiety.
Trevor sat on the floor, using the bed as a back rest. His eyes stared blank at the ceiling. His mind recalling everything that had happened in his life. His cheeks feeling the warm tears roll down onto his t-shirt. I need to do what Nightmare Moon couldn't do... make things right.
The Confrontation
Trevor sat at the royal dinner table next to Blueblood. No one dared speak. The silence in the room was persistent, determined to stay. Celestia sat at the far end of the table, devouring her food in a distressed manor. Luna sat on the other end of the table eating very slowly, looking up cautiously at her sister every few seconds. The two Princes exchanged looks of uncertainty, sure of a possible confrontation with the angry Princess if they spoke. Trevor shot a quick look at Celestia, then his eyes reverted back down to the salad in front of him. She was still furious.
"Wonderful weather we have experienced today..." Luna finally spoke, shattering the silence.
"I heard that there was a commemorative parade in Cloudsdale." Blueblood spoke out to the whole table.
Celestia sat there steeping in her anger, not even acknowledging her family's conversation.
"We have heard that as well Blue." The Princess of the night responded to Blueblood.
Even though there were attempts to get Trevor and Celestia talking, they refused. Each hunkered down in their own way, but both refused to look up. Luna knew exactly what was happening. They were dealing with the situation wrongly. Very wrongly. Luna looked at her sister again and felt a slight pain in her very soul. 'Tia... This is no way to heal a broken heart...
"Please excuse me." Trevor said bluntly as he got out of his seat and began to leave the room.
"9:00 in my quarters young man." Celestia growled as she scarfed down the last of her meal.
Trevor looked over his shoulder at the ruler. His anger had started to rise again. Look at what she is... His thoughts began to betray him. She doesn't want to work it out! She wants to punish you for doing something legal! It didn't take long for his thoughts to win. Trevor sighed and left the room.
"If you wouldn't mind, I would like to be alone." Princess Celestia said to everypony in the room. As they cleared out, she thought about all the ways she could carry out this meeting.
"This time he has gone too far. Smoking?! In front of my subjects no less... He has gone way too far. He needs to be punished. I hate the idea of it all... but that's life." Celestia rambled to herself after everypony had cleared the room. "Let's see who will win this round."
Her ramblings glued her to reality itself. She knew she was losing it... and she needed to help herself think. Celestia's eyes began to water as she stuttered. Life itself for her was very stressful. She dealt with everything... the rapes, the murders, the politicians... but one thing she could not get over was betrayal. Celestia was chained to the past. Her own sister, now her best friend and adopted nephew.
The ruler's head hit the table along with the tears of painful memories. She sat there sobbing. Her mind was confusing her on what to think. Celestia had shut down. Nothing mattered anymore except feeling better. A purple aura appeared around her entire body and transported her instantly to her room. She stammered over to her bed and flopped onto the covers. Comfort swooped over her entire body as she cried to forget.
Celestia was great at forgetting. All she felt comfortable doing was sitting and pretending things weren't a nightmare. Every day something tries to tear her apart, the only things that change are names and faces. Discord, Sombra, Starlight... does there names even matter anymore? She sat there with her mind blank, refusing to accept that her child was rebelling against her. I brought him in. I cared for him. I gave him food, shelter, and a warm bed... to be repaid by this? Cigars? So he can give himself lung cancer?! Her mind screamed at her to be angry, but she just couldn't. Either she loved him too much, or she frankly just didn't care.
Trevor sat alone, like he usually did. In the back of his mind his choices subtly thrashed his otherwise calm existence. He knew what he had to do... but the unnamed feeling denied him strength. Strength to do anything outside of sit in the Royal Gardens, drinking coffee. So there he sat. In the gardens, making revelations that he wished he had not. Trevor was gifted at that. Making discoveries about his own personality, as well as others, that he wished he hadn't. Like how he notices that Blueblood can't control his manners around mares he doesn't know, how Luna's partying gets out of hand, and most of all... why Celestia mothers him.
As the only one of his species here, Trevor feels he notices a lot more than the ponies do. He has had the time and experience with hiding to know when they are lying. He sees how most of these creatures live... He sees through their smiley masks... He knows the pain they have endured... his heart wants to identify and to love them... but they are animals. Primal, confused, living in a world they don't fully understand. Then they look up to his 'mother' for understanding that she doesn't have. This 'tolerance' and 'acceptance' she preaches is only a facade to keep them happy. They refuse to truly understand themselves... and Trevor knows this all too well. It's moral bankruptcy.
The Prince held the cup up to his lips and took a sip. Celestia is hiding a past that she doesn't want anyone else to experience. In order to not let anyone else feel these atrocities, she talks about love and acceptance... all the while adopting the same attitude a mother would to her child. All things considered, Celestia is a great ruler. She feeds the hungry, keeps the peace, promotes learning... but... she just doesn't know how to handle a personal life. Not hers, nor anyone else's. Her idea of love is to forget about something and move on like it never happened.
Well Trevor knows it happened, but he sat there like it hadn't. He wishes he was clueless to why, but he knew exactly why. His palms shivered and his back tingled. I'm letting her win. Thoughts of Nightmare Moon struck him down quickly. All of his thoughts now took a different turn. Why couldn't I have just let her win? Why couldn't I just have connected with her? His brain thrashed about like a dying animal. Stop. She is no more. Comfort came in the form of a statue not that far off in the distance.
There in all its glory stood a sculpture of victory and pomposity... what was said to be the jail of the Nightmare. All of her features were spot on. All of her ferocity... caged. A rage that once twice, had threatened to crumble Celesta's delicate world. But as she stood there, Trevor couldn't help but sympathize with it. After all, he felt like he was the one in stone. He can't move, speak, or laugh without it being picked apart by each and every pony around him. His actions are read about near and far in newspapers... his face known by everypony in Equestria. All because his self proclaimed 'mother' saw him begging in the streets. As his gaze sharpened on the marble structure, he knew the time was nigh.
The Princess had arranged two chairs in her room, opposite from one another, for this meeting. In her head a bloodless conflict raged. The conflict was to decide how Trevor was to be punished... but she knew he was a mature human and a punishment would only harm him further. Her feelings contradicted what she knew. Choices have consequence, and he needed to be reminded of this. Knocking came from the door, which alarmed the preoccupied ruler.
"Hello Celestia." Trevor said politely as the door swung open from her magic.
"Hello Trevor. Have a seat." The Prince took a seat in a red velvet chair, directly across from his guardian. "I thought we kicked this habit."
"You did, but I still wanted to exercise my right... as a human... to free will." He said, pausing slightly, collecting his thoughts.
"Cigars and other tobacco products can cause cancer, Trevor." She reminded him, a fact he had heard many times before.
"I didn't mean to harm you."
"Yes you did! Then WHY would you have continued on doing it?!"
"Because. Maybe, I enjoy the feeling of smoking a cigar and unwinding." He threw back at her, unwilling to let his emotions take the better of him.
"Listen to yourself. Is this the pony you want to be? ...Hmm?" Celestia hummed at the human with intent.
"I'm not a pony. I'm a human being." His face contorted slightly after being called a pony. "...And if I find myself liking something that is harmful, it's just my nature."
"I know, that's why I told you NOT to do it!" She urges as her face lets of a very stern look.
"How could you know?! You have never even said a single thing about my kind, nor have you ever made an attempt to talk to me about being different! Seriously! The last time you talked about my species is when you said eating meat is wrong!" Trevor's emotions started to boil as he thought of the time Celestia tried to con him out of eating meat. Her face shriveled up slightly as Trevor dished out his accusation to the Princess.
"I tell you what you need to know. Can't you see?! I do this to protect you!"
"Protection or oppression? So you mean to tell me Celestia, you are protecting me by never talking about how I got here?" The fires raged in his eyes as he stared, bewildered by her response.
"Child, there is much that you do not need to know. I only want for my child to be happy!" She pleaded with a show of frustration taking over her face.
"Umm? ...Excuse me? Excuse me. Your child? I'm NOT your child! I remember my mother very well." The words sunk into Celestia's very bones. She shuttered slightly from a chill flying all throughout her body. She knew now, why she had never told him in the last three years. "I think you are forgetting I was placed here when I was well into my freshman year in college. Now let's get this straight. I'm not your son. I'm not some Prince. And, I'm certainly not giving up my dietary habits. I don't care if your a Princess, where I come from, trust is earned... and you have none with me." Trevor looked at her, disgusted. Everything about Celestia sickened him, but as he looked upon her... he felt sympathy for her. He saw the genuine pain she was in. The tears falling from her face, her head hanging in defeat... he saw the genuine Celestia.
"Trevor..." Her muzzle let out as her eyes began dropping tears. "Please... I never meant it like that... When I saw you on the street... I knew what I needed to do. So I did it."
"Care to tell any more?" The white pony cringed at his demand for the truth.
"I will... tell you everything. Unaltered, no restrictions." Trevor sat back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Well. It all started when our kind first discovered a higher magic. A magic that most consider... myself included...evil. My father was trying to create a new type of spell for transportation, but it backfired. The spell behaved illogically, and spit out an entity known as Discord. Discord championed the type of magic that we had accidentally stumbled upon... Chaos magic. Chaos magic requires odd things, and illogical sacrifices... including death itself. The more we found out about it, the more taboo and hated it became. It was referred to as 'demoncore' due to the way that it twisted those who studied it. My father was obsessed with it. The closer he came to answers, the closer he drew to insanity. He died due to a spell he cast, trying to visit another world. It took my father as a sacrifice, then spit out a human female named Mary. Mary taught us everything about your humans... and she was a close friend of Luna's. She died two hundred and thirty four years ago. But we knew that this chaos magic would bring more into this world..." Trevor stared at Celestia. His eyes wide open to the truth... knowledge that was hidden, now revealed. "So that's how you got here. Chaos magic. My father set a curse on my family... if ever any of his family was harmed, something would come to correct it. You were brought here because Luna was harmed by Nightmare Moon. On the street... I knew exactly why you were there. What you were brought to do, but the elements of harmony defeated her... So there must be some sort of defect in that spell my father cast."
"Your spell wasn't defective. I emotionally defeated her." Celestia eased her head up and looked at him in confusion. "She stopped by my quarters... I made her cry by telling her the truth. Not the truth that she was a monster, the truth that she could have changed." He sat there, face unaffected, telling her his saddest memory in Equestria. "But she had a hamartia... herself."
"That is true... yes. Also it is why I mother you so... and for that... I am sorry." Her head dropped again, along with her ears. Embracing the pain that comes with admitting fault.
"I forgive you. I now know why I'm here, I am satisfied. You let me see your true self today... and for that, I forgive you. Your just trying to look out for me..." He smiled as he accepted her apology, glad that she was being honest. "Time to tell you why I'm here."
"I don't understand..."
"You will..." He said, wiping his smile clean off of his face. "Humans can't preform conventional magic. Our creator won't let us. Simple right? Well no. Due to His intentions originally, we are left with a choice. Rebel or choose not to practice magic. We call our creator God, and his enemies Satan. When he created us, we were able to interact with him... vice versa... so on. That is conventional magic. But, when some of his angels rebelled against him.... they created what you call chaos magic. Magic that harmed us, caused greed, lust, hate, jealousy, and all evil things. So to prevent us from doing magic, he dulled our capability to do magic, but he let those who rebelled still have the capability to use chaos magic. I practiced that magic." Celestia's head shot up in amazement at what Trevor just said.
"Mary told us all about human religions, especially about Christianity, Islam, Atheism, and Satanism..." Celestia gasped as she began to understand the ideals of the religions.
"Yes. No one is certain exactly which one is right, but some argue that nature points to certain ones. This experience has further placed my faith in the fact that it is real. Before I came here, I was practicing Chaos magic all the time... I just never realized it would bring me here."
"Trevor, I can't even imagine everything you've been through..-" Celestia began to think aloud.
"-Hey, Don't feel bad for me. Life is hard on everyone. I do want to say though, I appreciate everything you have done for me. Also, I want to be close to you, but we have to approach this another way. A whole different way entirely. I'm still getting used to this planet, and the ponies that exist here." Trevor interrupted her, expressing his opinion of the situation at hand. "Now please, let's move on from this situation with a greater understanding of eachother. But first, I must tell you... I'm grateful for everything you have done for me... and I do love you Celestia."
