His green emerald eyes looked on as he seen King Sombra destroying Ponyville. To be totally honest, Spike don't really care about what King Sombra was doing, or how King Sombra was making the ponies scream. Spike didn't really care about much because he had nothing to care for. The only thing he actually cared about was his hatred for King Sombra. He knew that every time he would think this, it would put him in a negative light, but it wasn't his fault. He literally had nothing to care for. The ponies that were there were literally annoying, he had no friends, no family, no possessions, King Sombra was really abusive and horrible towards him, mostly emotional abuse, and he had literal no purpose. He was just here because extra weight he had always thought. Spike finally took his gaze from the window, laying down softly on the messed up bed which the covers were stained with blood. Spike felt the blood on his body didn't bother him, though. As long it was his blood and no pony else's than he wouldn't complain. Spike then thought about how King Sombra never lost. When Spike tried standing up to Sombra when he was doing physical abuse, he always end up losing. Sombra has destroyed almost every place in PonyVille, and he would never loose. Spike knew Sombra was his father and that he was mighty powerful, but he couldn't be the most powerful being on Earth. There has to be somepony who could actually beat Sombra. Just this once. Right on cue, two alicorns appeared. Were they gods that actually answered him? They looked very powerful and loyal and their wings were very big and impressive. They were also very pretty. Spike's eyes looked on. Despite that he didn't care about PonyVille or the people in it, he finally want to see Sombra loose. He saw glowing light beams beyond his eyes, waiting to see Sombra disappear into smoke or dust or whatever. Sombra looked like he was actually in pain, he looked like he was actually suffering, looking like he was actually going to die. Spike waited for Sombra to die. His emerald eyes waited in desperation. Sombra , however, didn't disappear like it would end some type of pain, but no. Sombra decided to fight back. Sombra's attacks were powerful. The two alicorns looked mighty weak and hurt and bruised and Spike could literally feel the fear that the two alicorns were feeling. Fear than automatically turned into anger. Sombra was going to win. AGAIN! Spike couldn't take this anymore. A low growl escaped his mouth. Spike's eyes turned completely green, fists clenching at his sides. Spike felt his feet a few inches from the ground. Spike wasn't actually in control, but he does want to see Sombra burn in agony. Spike, however, didn't see feel himself flying outside. He didn't feel himself flying towards Sombra. And he definitely didn't feel himself blasting Sombra with his glowing green eyes. Sombra did scream, but the green blast didn't stop him nor weaken him. Instead, Sombra smirked widely directly at Spike. "Finally came to fight, hu Spike?" Spike didn't answer Sombra. He was too angry to do so. Sombra smirked even bigger at Spike, thinking that he either broke Spike or he had literally taught him well. Sombra than blasted Spike with all he had. Spike felt his energy being blasted into his heart. The white energy had weaken him, and his heart was slowing down. Spike fell to his knees and Sombra followed suit. Sombra's hoof touched Spike's chin and Sombra's bloodshot eyes stared down at Spike's emerald eyes, which weren't glowing any more. "Good, Sombra said, placing Spike's body deep in the dirt, "but not good enough ". Spike cried in the dirt. "P.... please.... st.... stop...." Sombra frowned at Spike's behavior. "Begging my dear Spike?" Sombra's hoof was behind Spike's head, forcing the young dragons deeper into the dirt. "I thought I taught you not to beg... EVER!" Spike crying didn't cease. Sombra doesn't want the young dragon to cry ever. Sombra, despite being the young dragon's father, doesn't know much about Spike. Sombra did know Spike's biggest weakness. His anger. Sombra loosened his grip on Spike's head. He didn't let go of it, but tried not to be too rough on him. "Spike, I know you came out here to beat me to protect PonyVille " Spike narrowed his eyes. "Are you playing stupid? You know I don't like PonyVille nor the people in it!" Sombra smirked. "Than why did you came out here to fight me?" "I'm tired of you always winning! Always beating people to the to the ground! ALWAYS HURTING ME!" Spike yelled. Sombra smirked. 'Spike is close to losing it. Close, but not enough'. "You wanna know why I'm always winning? That's because you're always loosing. But that's your job. You know why it's your job? Because your a loser" Sombra felt Spike shaking with anger. "Shut up!" "Your a weak, worthless, piece of crap! You don't have the right to tell me anything!" Sombra forced Spike's head from dirt. Sombra's hoof touched Spike's chin so Spike could meet his gaze. Spike looked very angry , but not furious. 'Exploit it'. Sombra smirked. "Don't get angry Spikey Wikey" Sombra said mockingly. Spike narrowed his eyes. "Don't call me that " "Not getting mad, are you Spikey? Both of us know that your anger can...... cause trouble " Spike narrowed his eyes, a growl escaping his mouth. "You know nothing about me. My anger is under control " Sombra smirked. "Oh really? Remember when you was so angry at your mother, and you...." Spike held his head in pain. "No.... STOP! 'He knows what I'm talking about'. "Your eyes were filled with anger and lighting....." "STOP....!" ...."The air filled with fire and smoke......" "SHUT UP!" "Your fists consuming fire and lighting......" "STOP IT!" "Death were in your eyes...." "STOP IT STOP IT!" "You did it. You killed your mother. It was over and it was your fault....." "STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!" "What's the matter Spike? Finally realizing that you don't need to exist? Finally realizing that you could be wrose than me? Finally realizing what kind of a MONSTER your truly are?" Spike's eyes went ablaze. Instead of emerald green, they were firey red. Sombra backed away with a smirk across his face. Chapter One: Fear ItselfAuthor's Note This story probably sucks and is not worth anybody's time. Yeah.... I have low self-esteem. Chapter One: Fear Itself Spike stared at the cealing blankly. His arms were behind his head, hands grasping each other. His eyes were puffy red, though his eyes are usually emerald green. Were their red because he was tired, or was he crying? Both. Seeing Sombra again at the Crystal Empire months ago was terrifying. To him at least. His new friends thought King Sombra was defeated but no. Spike knows King Sombra wasn't dead yet. He didn't want to tell his new friends though. They will ask questions Spike cannot answer. His eyes gazed on his nightstand, gazing on his picture of his friends. (Not Twilight's). He love his friends and his friends love him back. That's why he doesn't want to harm them. His gaze then went on Twilight. A powerful princess alicorn, a bookworm, a genius, Spike's best friend, Spike's first friend, Spike's sorta sister.... Tears were behind his eyes. He couldn't hold onto his emotions any longer. He didn't want to harm them, but he couldn't keep holding in his depression. The morning started off slowly. Twilight was reading a book on her desk. Re reading it actually. Twilight didn't know what was going on with Spike. She tried asking him, but Spike eithered said nothing was wrong or tried changing the subject, etc. But Twilight knows something is wrong. However, Twilight doesn't know much about Spike's past. That's because Spike wouldn't say NOTHING about it and get overly defensive about it. Twilight waited desperately for Spike to wake up. The alicorn thought it would be best for them to hang out with their friends and gets some fresh air. Spike needs it. Right? Suddenly, Spike walked into the room rubbing his eyes. Twilight smiled warmly, closing the book with her magic. "Good morning, Spike " Spike groaned lowly. "Morning". Twilight frowned. "Something wrong, Spike?" Spike didn't like how this was going. He never did. All Spike knows was that he was going to get overly defensive again. Each time he does, he almost slipped his uncontrollable powers and hurt Twilight. And if the rest of the Main 6 was here, he would've hurt them too. "Spike? You okay? What's wrong?!" Twilight asked, nudging Spike softy. Spike has gotten control of himself and grabbed Twilight's hooves. "I'm fine , Twi" "Are you sure?" "Yes Twi, I'm fine. Honest" "Are you really telling the truth Spike cause -" "I'M SURE!" Twilight flinched at that sudden outburst. Unknown to both of them, a crate outside exploded. Spike saw the sadness and fear in Twilight's eyes. "I- I'm so sorry Twi. I- I didn't mean-" "It's okay Spike. I know you didn't mean it. But I hope this time you'll come with me and the girls to the park so you can get some fresh air" Twilight sighed with concern. Suddenly, a knock was on the door. Twilight walked to the door and used her magic to open it. Applejack was in the doorway, looking concerned. "Applejack, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the park?" "I was on my way there until the weirdest thing happened. My crate of apples exploded " Twilight was puzzled. "Just out of the blue?" "Yep" Spike was listening to their conversation and has gotten a thought in his mind. He could've made the crate explode while he yelled at Twilight. Spike facepalmed at himself. He had hurt two friends in the same day. Not a record for him, but it's in the ballpark. As Spike was in his thoughts, Applejack waved at him. "Howdy, Spike" Spike moved his tired eyes towards Applejack. After a while, Spike took his gaze from Applejack and gazed at the cealing. Applejack frowned."The little guy still hurtin'?" Twilight nodded. "Yeah. He still won't tell me what's wrong, but at least he's willing to get some fresh air and didn't decline like the other times " Applejack nodded in agreement. "I agree with ya sugercube. He just needed a little nudge" "Spike, time for us to go. Wanna ride on my back this time?" Spike nodded weakly. Twilight gave him a smile and levatated him with her magic to place him on her back. Twilight, Applejack, and Spike were finally at their destination. They saw their friends just being themselves, until they seen the three. "Hi girls!" Twilight said to them. "Hey Twilight!" "Howdy" Applejack greeted. "Hey Applejack " they greeted. Spike didn't say anything. Rainbow took off her shades and looked at Twilight with concerned eyes. "Is he still like this?" Twilight nodded. "I still can't get him to open up" Pinkie Pie bounced over to Twilight and looked at Spike with symphony. "What's wrong Spikey Wikey.....?" Pinkie asked. Spike's eyes jolted with life. "Not getting mad are you Spikey Wikey? Both of us know that your anger can cause.... trouble" That voice ringing in his ears, that voice in his head. Spike heard it so much he swore he can do an perfectly good impression on Sombra. Spike glared at Pinkie, his face darkened. "Don't call me Spikey Wikey. No one calls me Spikey Wikey " Pinkie Pie flinched at his voice and his dark stare. Her usually puffy mane deflated a little until puffing back up. She forced a smile, trying to stay positive. Pinkie playfully punched him. "Okay. Nicknames die hard, right?" Pinkie said while laughing, but stopped immediately when she noticed Spike wasn't laughing with her. Pinkie sighed sadly then popped back into happiness. "Today is still going to be super fun!" Spike gave Pinkie a 'I don't really care' face. Pinkie, despite her questionable intelligence, got the message and walked away sadly. Until Spike could get back into his thoughts, Pinkie popped right back into his face a blew colorful confetti at his face. Pinkie was trying to make him happy, thinking that blowing confetti in his face would work. It always get a chuckle from him. "WOULD YOU STOP THAT YOU UNINTELLIGENT FREAK?!" The Mane Six looked at Spike with shocked eyes. Spike's eyes looked like he was possessed by a demon. Spike's demonized eyes took one look at Pinkie who was now on the ground crying. Spike saw Pinkie's new form as his demonized eyes turned back to emerald green. Spike wanted to apologize, but couldn't find himself to do so as he heard Sombra's voice again. You and [i and I both know that your anger cause.... trouble" Suddenly, Spike burped up a letter from the princess. Twilight used her magic to levitate the letter so she could read it. As she does, she darted her purple eyes to the girls since Spike was already on her back. "Princess Celistia want us at the castle quick!" For what? " Rainbow asked , playing with her shades. "She didn't say, but it must be important. Let's go!" She demanded, galloping towards to castle. Applejack , Rarity, and Pinkie galloped while Fluttershy and Rainbow took flight. Spike, however, still felt bad for yelling at Twilight, for blowing up Applejack's cart of apples, and snapping at Pinkie Chapter Two: The ReturnSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter Three: Some Secrets Out, Some Secrets HiddenApplejack coughed, but managed to speak. "K..... King Sombra...." "The one and only" Applejack narrowed her eyes at him. "Your Spike's real dad? No jokes? No games?" Sombra sighed annoyingly. "Yes! Come on, don't you see the resemblance?!" Pinkie Pie, despite being beaten, darted her eyes over to Sombra and Spike. "Yes" Twilight sighed in annoyance. She knew Pinkie was trying to keep happy, even though she was deeply offended by Spike moments ago. Twilight narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Sombra. "I don't believe you" Sombra sighed and rolled his eyes. "Of course you wouldn't believe me" Twilight's anger increased in her voice. "What's that suppose to mean?" "Come on Twilight. You wouldn't believe anything that may sound weird to you. Remember when you didn't believe in your good ol' friend's Pinkie Sense?" Twilight's anger decreased a little, sweat rolling down her neck, but she tried to sound angry and convincing. "That's completely different" King Sombra raised his eyebrow at Twilight in confusion. "How so?" Twilight didn't answer right away. "I..... Well.... Um....." Rainbow Dash raised up with all her strength, wings flapping angrily behind her back. "Leave her alone you old pack of smoke and dust!" "Brash as ever Rainbow Dash. Or should I say Rainbow Crash?" Rainbow Dash looked incredibly hurt by the nickname. However, she tried to not look hurt at all. She failed. Applejack narrowed her eyes. "Leave her alone ya hillbilly!" Applejack yelled, raising towards her hoofs. King Sombra, thought she was going to save Spike from his grip, causing him to grip tighter on Spike's throat. Spike felt the air leaving his lungs. Before Twilight could do anything, Rarity acted first. "SPIKEY WIKEY!" Rairity's horn glowed bright blue, trying her best to levitate Spike. When I mean she tries her best, she gets physically exhausted. The unicorn however still tried her best. Twilight, breaking out of her trance, tried helping Rarity with the levitation. Sweat rolled down their necks and bodies as their concentration became hard to keep. Rarity and Twilight moaned in exhaustion, but tried their best to finish the job. Sombra didn't do anything. He just stood their with a smirk on his face as Spike began to turn pale. This caused Rainbow to snap. Fast as a sercuit, Rainbow Dash dashed towards Sombra. Rarity and Twilight noticed this, causing their concentration to break completely. "RAINBOW NO! HE WILL DESTROY SPIKE!" Rainbow didn't listen. She was far too angry to do so. Both Twilight and Rarity tried levitating her back, but Rainbow always ended up breaking the spell. But there was one thing that confused the Mane Six: Rainbow is flying towards Sombra. Sombra said if anypony even took a step, Sombra will destroy Spike. Sombra, however, isn't taking the opportunity to do so for some odd reason. The only thing Sombra was doing was grasping tightly on Spike's throat, waiting for Rainbow's anger to unleash. Sombra acted like he was waiting for Rainbow to save him, though he spent all this time to destroy him. Rainbow was close to Sombra, but he fire teleported. "Try and catch me" Rainbow exploded. Rainbow flied faster and faster. If you look at Rainbow's form, you might think she's ready to create a sonic rainboom. She was close to doing so though. Before Rainbow could catch up to Sombra, he fire teleported again, causing her to loose her balance and fall onto the ground. Sombra smirked. "Nice going Rainbow Crash" DON'T CALL ME THAT ANY MORE!" Rainbow's eyes was filled with fire and cross bones. Rainbow flew faster than she ever had before. Before Sombra could fire teleport, Rainbow kicked him in Sombra's hip causing him to release Spike. Rarity quickly levitated Spike and placed him on her back while Rainbow was beating Sombra up with punches an kicks. Sombra was not affected nor bruised. Applejack, despite being just as mad as Rainbow and just as a fighter as her, ran towards her. "Rainbow, that ain't solvin' nothin' . Stop fightin' him" Rainbow turned towards Applejack with tears in her eyes and bloodshot eyes. Applejack flinched. Before Rainbow could attack him some more, Sombra pushed her aside. Twilight blasted him with her laser. "You'll never get away with this Sombra! You will never get your dirty hooves on Spike!" Sombra smirked. "Fine then" Twilight cracked an confused eyebrow. "Come again?" "Fine. I won't destroy him right then and there" Sombra floated, fire rings surrounding his body. "But mark my words, I will be back. Better, faster, stronger!" The Mane Six looked at the sky. "I will break each and every one of you! " He took a look a look at each of the Mane Six. "You'll realize the truth hurts, that kindness will not be here forever, that laughter can hurt , that loyalty has consequences, that generosity will overwork you, that magic isn't always the answer!" Sombra turned away before giving Spike a smirk. "And Spike? Don't be ashamed of what you had done in the past" And with that, Sombra disappeared. The Mane Six covered their eyes because of the shinning bright light with their hooves. Twilight was pacing. "It's crazy! It's crazy! I don't get Sombra! First, he came here to destroy Spike! He told me not to make a step or he'll be destroyed. But Rainbow flied towards Spike and Sombra and he didn't destroy him! Thank Celestia for that, but it's confusing! What does Sombra even want? What is he doing?! WHAT IS HE PLANNING!?" The Mane Six and Spike were in Twilight and Spike's library. Rainbow was sitting on her haunches, looking angry and sad, tears still behind her eyes, Applejack was beside her, rubbing her back to comfort her, Pinkie was on the floor looking at her hooves blankly, maybe trying to think of a way to brighten the mood, Fluttershy was beside her, her face being covered by her long pink mane, and Rarity was upstairs looking after Spike, making sure he was alright. Spike had turned back into his original color, but looked effected nonetheless. Applejack than began to break the silence. "Look, whatever Sombra is plannin' we'll have to give him EVERYTHING we got" Twilight nodded in agreement, eyes narrowing. "Right ahead of you. We must not step down. Whatever he throws at us, we can take it right?!" The Rest of the Mane Six nodded in agreement. Rarity then came from upstairs, gaze looking downward. "Rares, how's Spike?" Twilight asked almost immediately. Rarity sighed. "He's fine. He's taking a nap, but I placed the most strongest force field around the library to make sure no one comes in" Twilight smiled a little, nodding her head. "Good. That way we won't get attacked" Rainbow decided to speak. "Is what Sombra say is true? Are they really related? Have Spike done bad things?" Twilight shrugged. "I'm not sure. We have to hear it from Spike himself to see if it's true or not " Pinkie sighed explicitly, causing the rest of the Mane Six to look at her. "I believe him" "WHAT?!" The rest of the Mane Six exclaimed in shock, anger, and surprise. Pinkie, despite being yelled at, didn't seem affected. "You heard me. There's nothing against it" Rainbow flapped her wings in anger. "There's everything against it! He's a dragon and he's a pony!" Pinkie shrugged and placed her gaze back on the ground, not saying another word. The rest of the Mane Six didn't say anything either. As Spike sensed that Rarity left the bedroom, Spike opened his eyes. 'As long as I'm with them..... they're in danger' Author's Note Was this a bang as Mr Enter called the episode, "The Return of Harmony" (Part one and two)? Was everypony in character? Most importantly, is Pinkie Pie in character? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below. Chapter Four: New Pony in TownRunning. That's all Moon Dust did the most. Run. This, however, was beyond what he was used to. Big flames were following him like the flames had a mind on it's own. Moon Dust galloped faster and faster, eyes focusing in front of him. He then felt the flames closer, almost burning his flank. To by some time, his eyes shined bright yellow, a rock wall created behind him. He knew that the powerful fire could get through it eventually, but it'll by him some time to gallop away. As Moon Dust galloped, he heard an explosion, causing his ears to twitch. He gazed back and saw the flames moving even faster. Moon Dust gasped as he tried to gallop even faster, his body aching in the process. The flames then went sonic on him.. In one movement, the flames were by Moon Dust, flames reaching up to his chin. Before he was a goner, his eyes shined bright yellow again, picking up a large bolder as he flew away on it. The flames then followed Moon Dust into the sky, making him panic. As he panicked, Moon Dust lost balance and control of his rock and he plummeted into the ground. He saw a place filled with trees and such so he galloped there. Little than he know it was the Everfree Forest. Moon Dust galloped even faster. Between the weird flames and the confusing animal noises, Moon Dust knew he wouldn't get out of there alive. Moon Dust panted as he gazed back at the flames which caused him to narrow his eyes. But he could still try. His eyes went yellow again, picking up a bolder he seen when galloping by. He went on his bolder and traveled into the sky. His eyes went downward, trying to find an abandoned place to crash in or something. However, the flames acted first. The flames, in one shot, went onto his body. The flames consumming him, going through his neck and body. Moon Dust had fear in his eyes, which broke his concentration. He slipped off his rock and fell onto the ground by the library, burnt marks on him. As soon as he was unconscious, the flames oddly enough went away. The Mane Six were still in the same room. This time asleep. Applejack and Rainbow was still by each other. Rainbow was sleeping on Applejack's shoulder and Applejack rested her head on Rainbow's. Pinkie was still on the ground, sitting on her hunches asleep. Fluttershy was beside her still, also sitting on her hunches asleep. Rarity was on the wall, sleeping by the door. Twilight was on the stairs, sitting on her hunches, head resting on the railings. As soon as they heard a noise, the Mane Six jumped up. "What.... What was that?" Fluttershy asked, lower than her normal timid voice. Twilight looked through the force field and saw Moon Dust on the ground unconscious with burnt marks. Twilight gasped. "Everypony quick! Rarity let down the force field but once we get him in, place it back down, Rainbow, go upstairs and check on Spike while the force field is down, Fluttershy, get ready to care for this pony, Applejack, Pinkie, and I will bring him in!" Darkness. That's all he saw. Darkness. " Is he alright?" Asked a shy, timid voice. "He DOESN'T look fine to me" a tomboyish voice answered. "That's cause he ain't waking up" a southern accent voice concluded. Slowly, Moon Dust's eyes begin to open. The girls flinched in surprise. Once Moon Dust was in fully awake, he saw a pink mare in his face. "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie!" The rest of the Mane Six didn't see Pinkie ramble like she usually does and her statement sounded forced and not as enthusiastic as she would normally sound. And the girls can understand why. Moon Dust, however, had no idea what was going on. "Moon Dust" Moon Dust's eyes looked around the library. "Where am I ?" Twilight walked up towards Moon Dust. "Hi I'm Twilight Sparkle. You've already met Pinkie Pie. This here is Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack. Your at the town library" "How did I get here?" "We saw ya on the ground with marks and we came and brought ya in here, sugercube" Moon Dust looked around on his body. "Where did my marks go?" Fluttershy smiled. "I took care of that" "Thanks....." "If you like, you could stay here for a few days" Moon Dust eyes widened slightly. "You guys did enough. I wouldn't want to worry you. I'll just leave" Moon Dust tried getting back onto his hooves, but failed. Rainbow hovered above him. "You can't even get on your own two hooves. You need to stay here for at least a couple of days" Rainbow says, giving Moon Dust a noogie, ruffling his mane. "No it's fine" Moon Dust gave a fake smile. Applejack can always sense a lie and Pinkie can always sense a fake smile. Applejack sighed and narrowed her eyes. "I can always sense a lie" "And I can always sense a fake smile or a forced smile" "But seriously. I'll just get in your way" Twilight sighed. "Girls, he may get in our way of our " plan", but I know we can't just send him away" "Maybe he can help" Rainbow Dash suggested. She circled around him in the air. "He seems like the fighter type like me and AJ" Rainbow used her hoof to poke Moon Dust's head, but not hard. "He seems as smart and resourceful like you Twilight and Rarity" Rainbow analyzed him some more. "He seem like the runner type like Pinkie" Rainbow stared him straight in the eyes for a few seconds before circling around him some more during levitation. "He has that unique " charm" like Fluttershy " Rainbow finally looked at his flank to see a rock with an aura on it. Oddly enough. "Has a cool cutie mark like all of us" Rainbow then landed beside Fluttershy. "He's perfect!" Twilight hummed. "I don't know..... We hardly know him. And he just got attacked. This might be too hard to him" "Actually, I'd love to help" Twilight looked at him in confusion. "Why?" " I love helping others out with whatever problems they have " Moon Dust than smiled at Rainbow. "And I love running as well" Rainbow beamed. "I knew it!" Moon Dust laughed. "Your funny Rainbow Dash" Rainbow Dash laughed back. "I try" "But I have just one enncey beencie little question about your plan" Rainbow quirked an confused eyebrow. "What's that?" "What's the plan?" " WHAT?! YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO TRY AND DEFEAT SOMBRA?!" Applejack gave him a confused look. "Ya know Sombra?" Moon Dust laughed. "Well not personally, but I've heard of him on the news. He was destroying the Crystal Empire and some dragon saved it. What was his name again? It was Spike wasn't it? Do you guys know?" Twilight sighed sadly. "Spike's my brother. My adoptive brother. Sorta" Moon Dust looked confused. "Why are you so sad about him being your brother?" Rarity began to speak. "She's not. She just found out that Sombra is Spike's father" Twilight growled loudly, clenching her eyes tightly. "He's lying! I'm just mad that he even said anything like that!" Pinkie narrowed her eyes at Twilight. "He's not lying and you know it!" "Do you want Spike to be Sombra's son?!" "Can't hide from the truth. AJ, back me up on this" Applejack sighed. "It's true. Ya can't, but Sombra can still be lying, trying to fuel up our anger. Maybe so, maybe not" The rest of the Mane Six were surprised on how calmly Applejack had said that. Rainbow then turned to face him while pounding her hooves together. "So are you in or are you in?" Moon Dust gave her his most confident look. "I'm in" Author's Note Yay! My OC is finally making an appearance. He acts a lot like Terra from Teen Titans hu? The original, not that stupid reboot. Hope you like him. For now........ Also, no Spike in this chapter, but he'll be in the next. Hopefully. Chapter Five: The Answer to NothingFire. That's all he saw in front of him. Big gigantic flames. He was on the messed up peer, looking at the destruction. No life, no plants, no nothing. He just saw flames. The only thing constantly burn in his mind. His black cloak blew in the wind which was also mixed with smoke. Thank Celestia he could breathe in it. "Spike. There you are. I just want to say terribly sorry for..... choking you back there. But, at this rate you'll listen" Spike didn't say anything. Sombra hated the silence. "Spike you must really like the new upgrade I did to Equestria. You look at it quite a lot. Just the two of us here with nopony else nor any type of life, don't you think?" Spike remained silent and motionless. "Just you, me, this new fire upgraded city. None of your " friends" here or any other of those annoying ponies" Spike decided to speak, but not look at Sombra. "I'm not afraid of you. You know that right?" Sombra sighed. "For one, your simply lying to yourself. Despite one of your deceased...... friends being the Element of Honesty. You know you fear me. That's why you're completely broken" Spike completely felt his heart pounding. "And secondly, I'm not the one who you should be afraid of. You know that saying, fear itself? Well, it gets more realistic and complex. The feeling of being a monster beats you down, doesn't it?" Spike growled angrily. "No! I'm not a monster! I'm just as normal as every other pony!" "Your optimism is really adorable. It really entertains me that you think that you can really beat me" "I can and I will!" Spike flies towards Sombra who mentally stops him by simply closing his eyes. Spike falls back onto the peer, claws grasping tightly on the peer. An electric field surrounds Spike, electrocuting him in and out of his body. "How...? Why can't I......?" "Your broken. And I can control you. I can control your powers, your body, your mind. I'm your superior! With your thoughts, I simply descides what's important! Your powers are no longer yours! Your emotions are stuck into me, and they are controlled! We are no longer two! I am one! I AM COMPLETELY IN CONTROL!" Spike screamed in fear, sweat rolling down his body, heart pounding. Tears were in his eyes, fighting to drop onto the ground, but Spike was fighting to not them slip. As soon as he calmed down a bit, Spike noticed that he was levitating. Spike tried floating back down, but it was impossible. He couldn't go down no matter how much he tried. He then tried thinking of happy things like his bestest friends in the whole world, but that would result to the nightmare. Suddenly, the door was forced open with a purple aura surrounding it. Twilight. That caused him to plummit to the ground. " Spike!? We heard screaming! Are you okay?!" Twilight galloped towards him, levitating him from the ground. Spike looked at Twilight for a moment, then he looked away. Rarity walked up and so did the rest of the Mane Six. "Spike, ya , alright?!" "Did you have a nightmare about Sombra?" Rainbow asked. "That ruffian is giving my Spikey Wikey nightmares?!" "Ya wanna sleep downstairs with us Spike?" Twilight asks. Spike shook his head no. Twilight accepted the lie, but Applejack didn't. She looked at him with sympathy and concern. Applejack knew something was bothering him. And Spike just....... lied to her. "Spike, are you sure?" Applejack asked in a suspicious voice yet it was filled with concern. Spike didn't answer, but his eyes turned orange, the color of Applejack's coat. Applejack gave him an confused look with an arch of her eyebrow. The rest of the Mane Six looked on with curious eyes. Applejack was then shoved into the wall at least two times. Twilight levitated Applejack and placed her on her bed. "Applejack, are you okay?" Applejack moaned. "Ow" Spike felt a lump in his throat, but was able to find his voice. "S...... Sorry, sorry" Applejack smiled warmly at him. "It's alright sugercube, I'm fine. And I have to get use to your....... powers" Rainbow flapped her wings, giving him a look of confidence. "Yeah! Your powers are pretty cool! The way you beat Sombra, AWESOME!" Rarity nudged her elbow. "Rainbow was trying to cheer you up darling" Twilight sighed. "Well Spike, if you don't need anything....." "It's fine," Twilight sighed again. "Okay" With that, the Mane Six left, leaving Spike to his thoughts. The Mane Six were in the library. Rarity sighed. "How can we beat Sombra and keep our feelings and protection of Spikey Wikey out of it?" "We just have to talk to him and try to understand his powers more, trying to see if we can help him control them and maybe even find more about his past. Maybe get some progress to see what was bothering him before King Sombra had returned" Rainbow suggested. Twilight nervously bit her lip. "I don't think that will work. I think it's more complex than just talking to him" Fluttershy smiled, placing a hoof on Twilight's shoulder. "But it doesn't hurt to try" Twilight placed her gaze downward. "Okay" Rarity smiled. "Where should we talk? Obviously if we talk here, my dearest Spikey Wikey will probably feel trapped" "Maybe we can have our meeting at SugarCube Corner" Rainbow suggested. "Yeah. I heard they have upgraded their systems" "I heard that the coffee they serve really keeps ponies awake" Rarity smiles. "Which means we can get up early" Fluttershy turned to Pinkie. "That is.... if the Cakes are okay with it" Pinkie didn't answer right away. "The Cakes are away. They also took the young fillies with them. So, the store is mine for now" Rarity beamed. "Perfect! We can take Spikey there!" Pinkie raised up from her spot. "I'll go there to see if SugarCube Corner is still in one piece, and to make sure no pony breaked in" Rarity raised the forcefield, but as soon as it was down and Pinkie was out of sight, Rarity immediately placed it right above the house again. This was really weird to the Mane Six. They woke up to the morning sun. Didn't Sombra..... kill Celestia? They tried not to focause on it, but it was still confusing to them nonetheless. Rarity looked around the forcefield, making sure it was not effected in anyway. "Good. The forcefield is as perfect as always" "No one breaked in. Yay" Pinkie says uncharacteristically unenergized. "We just have to wake up Spike" Twilight was seen walking upstairs, trying not to seem scared. As she reached the bedroom door Twilight gulped nervously and knocked on the door with her hoof. "Spike?" Nothing. Twilight tried again. This time she knocked a bit harder. "Spike? You in there? Are you okay?" Nothing. Twilight placed her ear onto the door. At first she heard a few mumbling sounds, and after a few moments, she heard nothing. Twilight tried opening the door with her magic. Twilight walked in, purple eyes looking around their bedroom. "Spike?" Twilight then saw Spike on her bed, head facing the other way. "Spike? Are you okay?" Twilight walked closer to Spike who turned around and gave her an emotionless and blank expression. Twilight stood there for at least a minute, trying to see if Spike would react, but he didn't even blink. Twilight moved her hoof in front of Spike's face, trying to get his attention, but he seems unfocused. Twilight levitated Spike, inhaled roughly, and began to scream. "SPIKE!!!!!!!" Spike gave her a look of annoyance. 'At least he's showing an expression ' Twilight thought. "Sorry to yell at you Spike, but I had to get your attention somehow. Anyways, me and the girls are going to SugarCube Corner for breakfast and a little.......... chat and we want you to come along with us" Spike didn't say anything. He only shrugged slightly. Twilight smiled slightly. As least he's...... actually willing to go somewhere. Well, he did go to the park, but it was quite obvious he didn't want to go. This time? Spike is willing too. Twilight levitated Spike and placed him on her back, galloping downstairs. The Mane Six and Spike were in SugarCube Corner. Pinkie was behind the counter, fixing coffee and fixing their food. Twilight was sitting at a table, trying to keep her eyes forward, but they keep ending up on gazing at Spike. Rainbow and Applejack were sitting by each other, talking quietly. Fluttershy and Rarity were by each other, gazing at Pinkie preparing their breakfast and coffee, probably in their own thoughts. Pinkie was finally finished. Pinkie walked by the table. She placed two plates of flapjacks by Applejack and Rainbow, a plate with scrambled eggs with a vegan saussage on the side by her empty seat, a vegan breakfast sandwich by Rarity, simple scrambled eggs by Twilight, a simple daisy sandwich by Fluttershy, and a pancake filled with gems:just sapphires, by Spike. She was able to get gems when she checked SugarCube Corner for any.......criminals or missing things. Once she found out that SugarCube Corner was fine, she went to collect gems for Spike's breakfast. She stood there until she heard a "ding" noise. She walked back to her counter and when she came back, she had seven cups of coffee: Two in her hooves, two balancing on her head, and the rest on her back. She gave the cups in her hooves to Rainbow and AJ, Fluttershy and Twilight got the cups from Pinkie's head, and Rarity levitated the rest of the cups, putting one cup by her, one by Spike, and one by Pinkie's empty seat. Pinkie sat in her seat as her friends started to eat. The group ate in silence for a few. After Rainbow swallowed from another bite of her flapjack, she decided to speak. "This breakfast is really great Pinkie" Applejack nodded. "I agree. This here breakfast is the most delicious thing I've had ever tasted" "Oh yes it's really delicious Pinkie" Fluttershy added. "Thanks" Rarity was done with yet another sip of her coffee. "And this coffee is simply wonderful darling. You must tell me the recipe sometime" Twilight coughed intentionally. "Right after business" She sounded more angry than she wanted too. Rarity smirked anyway. "But of course" She sipped her coffee again before going fangirling about how delicious it is. Twilight sighed and her gaze went on Spike. He hadn't said a word at all today. Except if those mumbling words came from him. Twilight forced a smile. "So Spike, before we talk, do you love the breakfast Pinkie made?" Twilight asked, obviously stalling. Spike nodded, but didn't smile. Twilight tried to keep her forced smile as she turned to the rest of the Mane Six. "So, what do you guys believe is the right plan for destroying Sombra?" Spike's eyes widened in shock. 'Destroy Sombra? They are biting more than they can chew', Spike thought. "Right. Well, although I don't think we shouldn't plan our physical fight, I think we should plan what cerin attacks we can give him" Rainbow says. "We plan our certain attacks to see what works and what doesn't" Applejack added. Rainbow smiled. "Exactly" The two shared a hoof pump. Rarity rolled her eyes playfully. "Well whatever stops that ruffian from hurting my Spikey Wikey is fine with me!" Spike wanted to say something to Rarity, like telling her not to call him that, despite it was sort of a habit for Rarity. However, he couldn't find the words. They were stuck in his throat, desperate for them to come out. Spike stopped trying to fight it, and just let the words be stuck in his throat. Spike rested his head on the table, eyes turning blue as the rest of his breakfast was unintentionally thrown on the floor as it was covered with a blue aura. 'Of course' Fluttershy looked down at the fallen breakfast then back at Spike, who's eyes were still blue. Twilight sighed. "Right, your powers. Look if you don't want to talk about everything, you don't have to, but can you at least explain it to us?" She asked that question in a very gentle voice, but he still felt nervous. Spike closed his eyes and reopened them. He didn't really want to tell them, but a first try couldn't hurt. He tried to speak, but every time he tries, his throat closes. Maybe it was for the best. He didn't want anyone, especially the Mane Six, involved into this situation. They seem a little involved, but not all the way. Spike lowered his head and shook his head no towards Twilight's question. Twilight sighed. She knew it would take more than talking to Spike, but she gave it a shot anyways. To take her mind off of Spike's refusal, she decided to discuss more to her friends about destroying Sombra and giving ideas and combats to use while Spike closed his eyes. Author's Note Did this chapter make I'm Broken...... Dark. Well, darker? Woah. Good job on me! (I hope) Was it dark? Was it interesting? Tell me in the comments below. Also, no Moon Dust in this chapter. (Sorry) Also, I changed SugarCube Coner's.... delivery. You know those places in morden cartoons and anime where there's this one place the main characters eat at with almost every food there? Yeah, I changed it to that. You also noticed that I placed the alternate universe tag, which means I had to let the Adventure tag go. Chapter Six: Invalid, can't SpeakApplejack kicked the tree with absolute power and anger. No she wasn't apple bucking. She was testing her strength in her legs. After another kick, Applejack placed her hind legs on the ground and turned around to face the tree. The tree layed there helplessly on the ground as the orange mare wiped the sweat from her forehead. Twilight came around and looked at the destroyed tree. Twilight smiled and turned to Applejack. "Good. Your making progress. Keep going." Applejack nodded in command as she galloped to her next course. Twilight was getting them to train until they fight with Sombra. She saw progress in their skills, but it needed more training. The only mare that wasn't outside was Rainbow Dash and she was looking after Spike. Twilight picked her because she saw Rainbow with the most progress. Sure Rainbow was a great and skilled fighter, but Twilight never seen Rainbow destroy an entire tree with a punch of her hoof. Until today. Twilight hope that she was making progress with Spike though. Rainbow sat on the ground on her hunches, forearms crossed. Her eyes filled with concern, confusion, and a little bit of boredom. Rainbow couldn't take the silence. Does it mean cause she hates boredom? Yeah, but she was more concerned about Spike. She was going to get him to talk if it was the last thing she does. Rainbow flapped her wings and started to levitate over to Twilight's bed where Spike just so happens to be laying on. Rainbow took a deep breath and began to speak. "Spike? Pal, you awake?" A moan of annoyance escaped his throat as he rolled over to face Rainbow Dash. Rainbow saw the looks in his eyes and she didn't like it one bit. They were demonized red pupils and yellow eyes. Rainbow saw right through him: anger, sadness, guilt, fear. She saw the emotions in his eyes, but Rainbow felt like Spike wasn't feeling anything at the moment. Rainbow, trying to hide her fear and sadness, swallowed a lump from her throat and forced a smile. "Well since your awake, how do you like to spend your day with the GREATEST pegasus in town?!" Rainbow tried to sound like her normal boastful self. Spike, cause of Rainbow's exclamation, clenched his eyes shut and kicked Rainbow in her right leg. Rainbow bit her tongue so a tiny yelp wouldn't escape her mouth. She forced a smile anyways, wings flapping with confidence. "See?! You look like you want to spend some time with Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow tried to ignore the pain in her leg. It didn't last long though. She was thankful for that. Rainbow looked through Spike's life less eyes and felt like crying. But, she tried to be as her usual confident self. She took a few low breathers and gave Spike a sly smile. "Hey, don't worry Spike. Everything is going to be fine. Once this is over, everything will go back to normal." 'Nothing is normal around me Dash. You know that'. He somewhat wanted to say that to Rainbow Dash, but somehow avoided it. Rainbow sighed and landed on the bed beside Spike. "Spike, you can talk to me. To any of us. Were your friends and you shouldn't be hesitant to talk to us. No matter what." 'Your loyalty won't live forever Rainbow. Believe me'. Rainbow sighed once more. Rainbow didn't know how to get Spike to talk and open up, but she won't quit. "Spike......please talk to me.......please......I'm worried about you. You need to say something..... anything..... Please....." Rainbow sobbed. Spike watched as Rainbow sobbed beside him. His new yellow eyes looked towards Rainbow with no life once so ever. "Stay out of this Rainbow." Rainbow's ears perked up. Spike's voice was dry and croaked. She wiped her tears away from her eyes, glad that Spike said something. But, it wasn't what she hoped for. His first words to her in a while and they were, "Stay out of this Rainbow." "Spike please..... you don't understand..... I want to help you. We all do." "Stay out of this Rainbow," he repeated. Rainbow sighed. She knew this wasn't over, but flew to the exit of the room. She opened the door and closed it. Rainbow sighed again. "Hey. Still couldn't get him to open up?" Rainbow saw Moon Dust walking towards her. "No. He only told me to stay out of it." There was a slight silence until Rainbow decided to break the silence. "Hey, how are the others doing?" "Twilight is doing one on one practice with Pinkie. I think it isn't going well." Rainbow gave him an confused eyebrow. Moon Dust knocked on the forced field to get Rarity's attention. Rarity wasn't focused on Moon Dust, but managed to lift the forcefield without looking. Moon Dust walked out as Rainbow flew beside him. Rarity closed the forcefield as soon as they were outside. Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy watched in awe in Twilight and Pinkie training. They knew that's what all it was, but their expressions showed differently. Twilight and Pinkie kept blocking each other's punches. Hooves punching on each other's hooves, missing their targets. Pinkie went for a kick ,but Twilight teleported. Pinkie tried looking for Twilight, but wasn't fast enough. Twilight teleported behind Pinkie and knocked her down. Once Pinkie was on the ground, Twilight placed her hind leg on Pinkie's chest. Twilight and Pinkie panted for a while. Twilight lightly face hoofed. "No. In a real battle, you shouldn't get distracted like that. Always remain focused." Pinkie Pie pushed Twilight's hind leg from her chest and raised up. "What do you think I was doing?" Twilight shook her head. "You tried looking for me to fight me. You should instead tried hiding before I teleported behind you." "What, you think I'm not capable in fighting?!" Pinkie barked. "I do, but remember, this isn't about you Pinkie!" Pinkie scoffed. "So it's about you?!" "It's about Spike!" Pinkie laughed darkly. "Yeah. Spike." Pinkie Pie gave Rarity a sign of letting the force field up. Rarity obliged and Pinkie ran inside. "Ah think we should all take a break." Twilight nodded at Applejack. The others went inside and Rarity closed the force field. Twilight flapped her wings and levitated towards Rainbow. "So, how was Spike doing? Were you making progress?" Rainbow sighed. "Well, he said something." Twilight beamed. "Really?! What was it?l" Rainbow gulped and avoided Twilight's gaze. "He told me to stay out of it." Twilight sighed. Rainbow then narrowed her eyes. "But we can't give up. I think you should come with me to talk to him. You are closest to him and it might make Spike feel more comfortable." Twilight shook her head, but still tried to think about it. Though she is closest to him, Twilight still don't think it was enough to get to him. Rainbow flapped her wings. "Come on Twi, we need to find out what's bothering him!" Twilight sighed and nodded. It was worth another shot. Rainbow and Twilight ended by the bedroom door. Twilight landed on the ground, but Rainbow remained flying. Twilight knocked on the door. No answer. Twilight opened the door with her magic. The room was dark and she couldn't see light in the room. Twilight used her magic to lighten the room. Twilight and Rainbow walked further into the room and saw Spike sleeping on Twilight's bed. As the two mares gotten closer to him, they saw him squirming in his sleep. Spike growled. "No, stay away from them!" Unknowingly to Rainbow and Twilight, King Sombra laughed. In Spike's dream, Spike was trapped with chains on his wrists and legs, red bruises and symbols across his body. Sombra was facing him while his friends were trapped."What? Want to play hero now? God your annoying. Maybe if I kill your friends you'll be less annoying." "No!" "You can't beat me Spike. I've told you this when you were younger. You think I lied? Maybe I should kill them to show you what I mean." "Leave them out of this!" "You'll be more......dark with them gone. More..... broken. Much more satisfying." "NO!" "You think you stop me? Save your friends? No......I think you are ready to watch one of them die." Spike struggled. "NO! I WON'T LET YOU DO IT!" Sombra smirked. "I think you will. Let's chance it though." Sombra walked slowly towards the trapped Mane Six. Spike tried getting loose once more, but he was still trapped. "Hmmmm.....who will the lucky mare be?" Spike felt tears running down his face. "NO STOP!" Sombra ignored him. "Hmmm.... Ha! Your the lucky mare!" His hoof was pointed directly at Rainbow. Sombra grasped onto Rainbow's neck. Rainbow kicked, she struggled, she tried flying away. But she was too weak and Sombra was too strong. Sombra watched as those confident eyes almost became lifeless. Sombra turned towards Spike. "See the life leaving her eyes? Bueatiful, ain't it Spike?" Spike clenched his fists, trying his best to burn the chains and not burn the place at the same time. "But....I think it needs something...... more." Sombra concentrated for a while as a certain weapon appeared within fire. She shade of red went all across the sword. "Needs more screaming, don't ya think?" Spike's eyes became almost red. "NO!" The weapon was close to Rainbow. The rest of the Mane Six tried to get out to help with all the strength they had left. Sadly, it wasn't enough. Sombra smirked and placed it on Rainbow's neck. Rainbow clenched her eyes shut and whimpered a bit. Sombra than released the sword from her neck and placed it in his hoof. Rainbow slowly opened her eyes, but just as she did so, Sombra placed the sword through Rainbow's chest. Rainbow's scream of agony didn't stop. Spike watched as Rainbow got tortured. "RAINBOW!" Sombra then sliced the sword through Rainbow's eye, then her left wing, then her gut. Rainbow screamed and screamed louder and louder as each type of torture was worst than the last. Spike's eyes were filled with fear, guilt, depression, and anger. The blood spread across the walls as Rainbow screaming became normal. However, Spike found it horrifying. With another slice of the throat, Rainbow found it impossible to scream. Rainbow's eyes went behind her head as her movements became still. Rainbow was no longer alive. Sombra dropped Rainbow on the dirty ground. Sombra turned towards Spike, shaking his head with a smirk on his face. "Such a shame. You could've saved her. You could've let her live. But I guess your too weak." Spike didn't respond. "I guess we'll have to see how many friends it will take to kill to make you break." Spike's eyes turned completely red. The chains burned but the place began to shake. Spike growled as his glowing eyes was focused on Sombra. "NOOOOO!" Spike's eyes widened. He saw Rainbow with Twilight exclaiming, but couldn't hear what they were saying. Seconds later, his hearing came back to him. " SPIKE! SPIKE ARE YOU OKAY?! " "ANSWER US PLEASE!" Spike groaned."Guys..... I beg of you.....please stay out of this....." "Spike-" Tears went down Spike's face. " Please! I don't want you guys to die because of me!" "Your not dangerous Spike! I wish you can see that!" Rainbow sighed as she flew out of the bedroom. Twilight sat on her bed. "Spike.....did you have a nightmare about Sombra?" Spike nodded. "Want to talk about it?" Spike shook his head. Twilight sighed, but smiled warmly. "Okay. But I'm sleeping win you tonight, alright?" Spike nodded. "Okay." Twilight sighed as she layed by Spike. Neither of them could fall asleep. Author's Note I feel bad doing this to Spike. However, I think it was satisfying enough. (I think.....) Grrrr.....God doggit if it wasn't please tell me! Chapter Seven: Red Eyes and a Talk with StarlightSpike felt the sun shinning on his face. Confusion still overwhelmed him since Celestia died and the sun still comes up, but he tried not to focus on it. His emerald eyes did a sideway glance, seeing that Twilight wasn't with him anymore. Twilight was probably training with the rest of the Mane Six. To...protect...him. He sighed at that thought. He raised up and walked around the room. His emerald eyes narrowed as he kept thinking about everything that has happened. He just couldn't take it. It was just...so... "FRUSTRATING!" His eyes turned fiery red, sparkling brightly as his anger and frustration grew. He gazed at the mirror in the bedroom and saw the color of his eyes. They looked familiar to him. Sombra. He gasped loudly as his eyes turned crystal blue, jerking him backwards and crashed into the wall, and then fell face forward onto the floor. Black energy surrounded him, causing him to phase through the wooden floor. Spike groaned lightly. "What is it this time?" "Spike?" Spike raised up and looked around his surroundings. The room looked like Starlight Glimmer's. "Spike?!" Spike turned around and saw Starlight Glimmer with a heat mask in her right hoof. "St...Starlight?" Starlight Glimmer levitated her heat mask and hanged it on a nail. "What are you doing in here?" Spike laughed nervously. "You know...just...laying here." "You phased through the floor, Spike." "You didn't see me phase through this floor. It was all an illusion." Starlight gave him a serious look. "Twilight told me about this Spike. Your powers, Sombra, you avoiding them, everything." Spike sighed. "And you hate me don't you?" Starlight gave him a confused look. "Why would I hate you?" "Oh you know? My uncontrollable powers that can blow everypony to bits!" Starlight flinched and saw a weird change in Spike's eyes. They weren't emerald green as she normally see them. They were bright red with yellow pupils. Starlight backed up a bit. "Sp... Spike.....your eyes are red...." Spike clenched his eyes shut. "ARGH! I HATE THIS!" Starlight Glimmer walked towards him. "Spike, you need to calm down." Spike took a few low breathers before looking back towards the unicorn. "Your right. I'm so sorry Starlight. I'm just going through things." Spike sighed and looked down at the floor. "But that's no excuse," Spike mumbled, sitting on the floor. Starlight sighed and sat on her hunches beside Spike. "Look, Twilight told me about Sombra being your real father. With that knowledge, I can only assume that he was sorta abusive and neglective towards you." 'Dang Glimmer, your smart," he thought. Spike nodded his head slowly. "Well, I went through something similar. Although my father wasn't no evil mastermind who was plasted all over Equestria, he was....abusive...but mostly neglective. That's one of the main reasons why I freaked out so much from losing my only friend. My mother died when I was only a filly, and my father was not always around. I had no one. Until I met Sunburst. He was the only pony I knew who was nice to me. My only...friend... That was until he gained his cutie mark. Then I was alone again and my mind wasn't calm when I wasn't around Sunburst since my father was...you know. When growing up, I found it hard to trust anypony and my hatred for cutie marks grew. And I never had a single friend...," Starlight cried. Spike watched in sad eyes. Starlight smiled at him. "That was, until you guys showed me friendship. You guys showed me that I can trust filles, mares, stallions, even dragons. It was the best day of my life," Starlight said, crying tears of joy. Starlight sighed and wiped away her tears. "Look, it may be hard for you, but realize that your not alone. You don't have to tell us right away, but please know that we always love you Spike. You can speak up when your ready, but no lies," she said. Spike gave her a tiny smile. "Thanks," he said. "No problem," she said. Spike looked around the room again. "So, are you ganna fight with them?" Starlight nodded. "Yep. But Twilight said I can take a break on the fighting process, and more on my intellectual. So, I get to use my love for inventing to strengthen it," Starlight explained. "Cool," Spike said with a smirk. "Well, I better get back to inventing. See you later," Starlight said to the dragon. "See you," Spike said, walking towards the door. "Oh and Spike?" Spike turned around to face the unicorn. "Yeah?" "When all of this is over, I promise you I will help you control your powers better," Starlight said, levitating her heat mask on her face. "Thanks," Spike says, opening the door and closing it behind him. Once out of Starlight's room, Spike could hear the sound of a blowtorch being used. Spike smiled, thinking about all the things the mare could be inventing. "She's your friend too, ain't she Spike?" Spike screamed in fear and panic, throwing him inside the bathroom. Once thrown, the door was locked. "Oh come on!" Spike sighed and looked in the bathroom mirror, seeing himself with demon eyes and sharp fangs filled with blood. "AHH!" Spike stumbled backwards, but once he fell, he didn't fell anything. Nothing lifted him up. He only felt darkness. He suddenly heard a dark laugh. "How did you like your reflection, Spike?" Spike felt his demonized red eyes on him, but didn't turn to face him. "That wasn't me," he said angrily. "Not now. But deep down inside you," Sombra said. "It's not me!" he exclaimed at Sombra, trying to convince him. And himself. Sombra smirked. "Are the only things that come out your mouths are lies, Spike?" "Leave me alone!" Sombra sighs. "Whatever. I really didn't come for you. I came to warn you. I came to tell you that I will haunt your friends when I return until they break," he said. "You will not do no such thing!" Sombra smirked wider. "Your right. I have another pony in mind," he said. Now Spike was confused. "What are you talking about?" "You'll see," Sombra said with a bigger smirk. As Sombra's horn was surrounded by dark magic, Spike was back in the bathroom, panting heavily. Author's Note Most likely filler. Chapter Eight: Light and Darkness Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter Nine: Deeper into Darkness Part OneDiamond Tiara was sitting on a chair with a cup off coffee in her hoof. She was far too young for coffee, but anything to stay awake. She sat by the hospital bed that had an unconscious Spike laying down there. He was lifeless. DT finished her cup of coffee which caused Sweetie Belle, who was standing by her, to levitate it towards the other cups that previously contained coffee. The young unicorn had purple bags under her eyes, but Diamond Tiara looked worse. Besides, she was her friend. She'll do anything for her friends. Sweetie levitated another cup to DT who grabbed it. "Thanks." "Your welcome. " Diamond placed the coffee to her lips and started to drink it. Silver walked up. "The sensers says he's doing fine," she informed. "That's good." The Mane Six, Starlight, and Dust came in. Rarity, Twilight, and Starlight had auras surrounding their horns. "Since this is something the docters aren't familiar with, we have to take care of it ourselves. But they let us use this room for it,"Twilight says. " That Sombra better be glad he wasn't in sight cause I was ganna kick him all ta way ta the end of Equestria," AJ comments angrily with a pound of her hoof. "I would've gave that ruffian everything I got!" Rarity exclaimed. "I get that were all upset girls, but we have to stay strong. For Spike." "Yeah. Despite him being unconscious, Spike could be thinking about anything. Sombra could be contacting his mind at anytime. Spike's mind is like a void," Rainbow said, rose colored eyes looking downward. "Hmm... I see," Rarity replied. DT looked at the dragon. "Oh Spike, please tell me your alright. Give me a sign of life please! Please!" She cried. He heard something. It sounded so familiar. Very familiar. A voice. A female voice. Crying. She sounded so depressed, so weak, so broken. How? He remembered the pony that contained the voice to be strong. Very strong. Tough. Protective. She was abused by her mother, but she was still tough. Tough as a diamond he knew. "Diamond... Tiara..." His voice was croaked. Not used. Other than the soft, croaked voice, she still couldn't hear him, considering that he is talking in his head after all. He was weak. His powers blocked out in the mortal world because he was afraid. Fear... He was always afraid. Why couldn't he be confident like the Mane Six or Starlight? We did he have to always feel fear and isolation? "Because your not reaching your full potential." Spike felt his heart stop, only for it to beat in his chest 20 times faster. "Because your always running." Spike couldn't take it though. "Because of those mares. Because of those filles. Because of your love." Spike felt his heart in his throat. Love? He can't even feel love. Not without blowing Diamond's head off. Spike had no confidence in his body anymore. Sombra was like the pony that can tell somepony when you can and can't breathe. "I... I..." "You what ? You know I'm right?" "N... No. Your wrong... And as you should...considering that you know nothing about me..." "Spikey Wikey... Stop lying to yourself. You may be sharp, but your mind can be easily manipulated. In the wrong hooves, it can cause massive destruction which will be nice. Feeling things for you is like... a fish being able to live in the hot sun... It's Impossible..." Sombra felt a fist that went through his nose. Spike removed his fist, only to see blood dripping from it. Sombra smirked at Spike's expression of realization. "I have to admit... that was a very good punch. However, you have gotten that strength from me." Sombre studied him carefully. He wanted to see his reaction. "Like everything else. We are very much alike..." Spike felt the anger in his body. He lunged forward and punched Sombre in his face and his chest. Before he can do another attack, Sombra grabbed his arm and faced him, his red eyes looking deeply into his bright emerald ones. "Like father like son... right...?" Spike's eyes looked feral. Steaming red eyes that matched Sombra's replaced his light green ones. He felt steaming rage consume him. The villain was magically thrown onto the ground, releasing his grip on his arm. Red flames and electricity surrounded his body as he floated in the sky, not entirely in his control. His eyes were glowing red, but his pupils were not visible. With each passing breath, his fists clenches tighter. "I am not like you," he said calmer than what he felt. Sombra chuckled. "Maybe not like me one hundred percent; maybe worse. Killed any family members lately?" His now red glowing eyes glowed brighter. He felt his rage pouring onto Sombra. He flew faster than he has ever had before. Even Rainbow Dash would be impressed. Fire rings went around his waist as he picked up speed. His fists, still clenching tightly, was in front of him. He blasted him like they were laser guns. Sombra, however, was seen smirking through the flames. He picked up his forearms and swayed them in front of Spike. Spike's eyes were now back to it's original color, fear now draining his confidence. He tried moving out of danger, but the fear had gotten the better of him. He was finally blasted with the flames. After the flames and smoke had disappeared, Spike was laying weakly on his stomach, burn marks across his body. His breathing was soon replaced by weak wheezes. Sombra was soon in front of him, his red eyes gazing deeply into the dragon's weak eyes. "I didn't raise you to be weak. Although, you really aren't . You just let your emotions get the better of you," he started. "You let them control you. You can't control yourself. You will kill everypony in Equestria." He smirked wider. "It doesn't have to be this way, Spike. I can help you. I can give you freedom, I can give you control. I'm the only pony who can," he said. Spike had always wanted to control his powers. He always wanted to. To keep him from hurting everypony... Maybe he could... He forcefully clenched his eyes shut. 'No stop it! Can't you see he's lying to you?!' Spike opened his eyes, which looked dull and weak. "I don't need your help," he said darkly. He tried to keep his voice in soft monotone. "Then who else is going to control your power?" "Your not going to control me!" "On the contrary Spike... I can do anything. You could too if you would strengthen your potential. But instead... you want to be isolated all your life. However, I was very impressed with you today. Your anger was in your control. Little rusty around the edges, but you will get there." "N... No..." "But, a shame that your friends have to be in such danger. Your fangs in their soft flesh, blood soaking through the fang marks, lightning marks on their necks, the life leaving their eyes. It didn't come yet, but some of the times that you flipped out when they didn't know about your powers came close." The dragon's claws grasped onto his head tightly. "Get out of my head..." "Your " sorta sister" will not only die, but she will be die heartbroken. " Spike clenched his eyes shut. "Sweet Fluttershy will have it worse. She'll feel that the pain in her gut, and she'll cry until she finally closes her eyes in a deep sleep..." Tears came running down his cheeks. "Rainbow Dash's confidence will get smashed to pieces. Her loyalty, her faith, her hope. All will get smashed one by one while the life leave her eyes..." "St... Stop... Please..." Sombra walked closer to a weak and sorta broken Spike. "Applejack will find no reason to trust anypony again. With one of her bestest friends lying to her all those years and her mind everyday constantly forcing herself to believe him, her heart will break first. Than her strong, golden honesty. She will never be the honest, kind, sweet, and strong mare she was known for. She'll be broken, she'll be weak, she'll be easy to manipulate..." Spike felt himself burning with anger, guilt, sadness, fear. All these different emotions thrashing inside of him all at once. "No... control it... don't let him control you," he mumbled. "Pinkie Pie won't smile ever again. She'll be depressed. She'll question her life. Her heart will break, her tears will be noticeable... her soft cries will be the only sound she'll ever hear until she can't cry anymore..." Spike's breathing was at a very face pace. "Lady Rarity will never be able to make dresses again. Her inspiration will die out as she feels the claw marks on her deep skin, blood soaking in her snowy white coat. Her accent will be dull as her blue eyes as blue as the ocean will be life less until she finally let out her last breath..." Spike's chest was burning. "Your childhood friends... they would die before they even get to complete their destinies. Except Babs... she'll die without realizing her special talent..." Spike bit his lip so hard that it drew blood. "And Diamond Tiara... she would be the last to see you. She will feel really betrayed. Her heart would be crushed. She wouldn't be strong enough to move. She wouldn't be strong enough to speak. She wouldn't be strong enough to fight. She'll cry until Death comes to take her soul..." Sombra was only a feet away from Spike. Spike, however, was not facing Sombra. The demon king heard soft crying. "Upset that you can't handle the truth?" Sombra asked, taking a few steps forward before getting interrupted by Spike's harsh voice. "Don't come any closer..." "Afraid... are we? Glad your feeling it for once so you won't have to feel guilty for killing your mother and soon destroying all of Equestria? Ha, ha, you should be. I can see you as your eyes burn with acceptance and death..." "GET. OUT. OF. MY. HEAD!" Despite the outburst, Spike was still not facing Sombra. However, Sombra was getting pushed back by Spike's uncontrollable attacks. Spike couldn't help it. Maybe.... he is going to kill everypony. His powers became stronger, but Sombra was away like that saying, "We'll talk again sometime." Author's Note Uhh.... Watched way... too many superhero shows and movies. Chapter Ten: Deeper into Darkness Part TwoAuthor's Note Uh.... Not going as planned. Chapter Ten: Deeper into Darkness Part Two The Hospital room was silent. AB, Scootaloo, Babs, Moon Dust, and Pinkie were asleep, Rainbow and AJ were playing different games, Twilight was reading different books, trying to figure out the truth about Spike's powers, Rarity was keeping the forcefield strong enough along with Starlight and Twilight, despite her reading the books desperately, Sweetie was still by Diamond's chair, levitating a cup of coffee for herself, Fluttershy was in deep thought, Silver Spoon was looking over the sensers, and Diamond Tiara was by Spike, crying in his chest. Nopony said a thing. Silver watched the sensers through her glasses, but the only difference was that it was turning fiery red. Silver turned towards the group. Her eyes were filled with great concern. "Sombra has contacted him!" This caused Pinkie Pie, AB, Babs, Scoots, and Dust to wake up, DT to rise up from his chest, and the others to place their attention on Spike. "Sp... Spike...?" He was twitching uncontrollably, causing everything to float around the room. "SPIKE!!!!!" Twilight yelled, causing her aura around her horn to disappear. She unlocked her wings and flied towards him. Something in the room floated towards her that pushed her back. Everypony tried getting towards him, but with no luck. DT cried loudly. His eyes opened, but they looked like a deep void. No eye color. No pupils. No life. "SPIKE!!! PLEASE WAKE UP!" they all yelled with concern and sorrow. Black auras surrounded his eyes, but still no life. 'They'll all die with you by them.' 'You should've never came into their lives!' 'YOU'RE WORTHLESS! " 'YOU'RE A FREAK!' 'YOU'RE A MONSTER!' The gang were all floating now. They all tried getting down, but they were forced into the sky with so much strength. Even Rainbow Dash couldn't get down. "SPIKE, PLEASE!!!! DON'T LISTEN TO SOMBRA!" Starlight screamed, trying to get through to him. "I... I am a freak... I am a monster!" Things were floating higher in the sky, but Rares and Glimmer tried keeping the forcefield up. Fluttershy, Dash, and Twi tried unraveling their wings, but they were stuck in the sky. Spike was glowing bright yellow, causing everypony's eyes to glow. They saw tears running down his cheeks which broke their hearts. They saw his scales turning dark black which frightened them. They looked at his eyes one last time. Black eyes. Bloody pupils. No life. "I'm... I'm sorry I came into your lives... I'm so, so, sorry," he cried. "Spike no!" AJ yelled. "It was a mistake! I'm a mistake! I'm so sorry I brought you guys into this!" DT was crying hard now. "SPIKE, I LOVE YOU! WE ALL DO! YOU ARE ONE OF THE MOST CARING, STRONG, SMART, AND COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET! AND I LOVE YOU FOR IT! PLEASE WAKE UP! PLEASE! WE NEED YOU! I NEED YOU! EVERYPONY NEEDS YOU!" "No, you don't." "SPIKE! DON'T YOU DARE THINK THAT!" Rainbow exclaimed. 'The Element of Loyalty won't be like that forever Spike. One day, that fire will leave her eyes. And you'll break her. You're during that anyways. Look at the tears escaping her eyes, her broken down form, her throat ready to let her hyperventilate. Look at all of them. This is just the beginning of their form. Soon, they'll feel physical pain.' Spike's eyes glowed brighter. "No... There's another way to this... I..." The yellow glowing light surrounding him grew so bright and big that the gang had to cover their eyes with their hooves. The laser blasted them, causing them to screaming pain. After the smoke cleared, the Mame Six, the CMC, Silver, Babs, Dust, DT, and Starlight was seen on the ground, coughing. "Is everypony okay?" Twilight asked. "Urgh.... I'm fine," Rainbow groaned, rubbing the back of her head. Sweetie Belle raised up and saw a black thing on DT's neck. It looked like a circle with a big bloody S on it's center. "Diamond Tiara, don't freak out, but there's something on your neck!" Diamond Tiara's eyes went on her neck and she saw it. "AHHHH!!!!!" "It's going to be okay Diamond Tiara. We can just get it off, right?" DT then noticed the same thing on the group's necks. "AHHHH!!!!" "What's wrong?" Silver asked her best friend. "You have them too!" Everypony then noticed them. They didn't scream though. "What is this?" Fluttershy asked, flapping her wings. "That S better not stand for Sombra," AJ replied roughly. The group then heard a groan causing them to turn around. They see Spike raising up, rubbing his eyes. His eyes opened, his emerald eyes taking form. Once he was fully awake, he saw his friends on the ground, marks on their necks, which he somehow recognize. He gasped in fear and surprise, eyes looking at them blankly, not blinking. Fluttershy slowly levitated in the sky, trying to get to Spike. "Spike..." Flutters said, trying to get his attention. "Are you okay?" "No... Fluttershy," he moaned in exhaustion. "Don't come any closer... please..." Spike cried, tears burning his cheeks. This broke Flutters's heart even more. "Spike... we only want to help you." "Not when you find the truth about me," Spike monotonously replied. She was taken a back of his voice. She floated closer towards him, causing him to cry even more. Cause of this, Fluttershy stopped. "Please... get away from me... I beg of you..." Rainbow decided to speak. "Spike, we just want to help you. And the only way we can get a step closer if you talk to us." Pinkie's expression became serious, yet concerned."Tell us what the marks mean." Sombra's eyes went a blazed. They stared deeply into the ground. His smirk grew, fire in his eyes. "Destruction... you will cause destruction... Everypony will die. But those spared will be broken. They wouldn't even think to fight back," he said. A big fiery, bloody S was in his view. Spike was againsted the wall. His breathing was hollow and his tears were strolling down his cheeks. He coughed uncontrollably, due to the crying. "That S represents you. Fiery, deadly, ready to burn everypony and everything in your path." "No... I won't do it..." Sombra sighed then smirked bigger. "You will. I know you will. You have the power to destroy Equestria. And your mind is dark. Put those together and you get..." His horn glowed bloody red, the location changing to a destroyed Equestria. The sky was red, everything was in ruins. He couldn't process this. "...A perfect Equestria..." Sombra continued, pointing his hoof towards something. Spike's weak eyes went towards what he was pointing at and saw... His and Twilight's home destroyed. "NO!!!!!!" HE flew towards it, hyperventilating. Once closer, more tears strolled down his cheeks. It wasn't a vision. It was very real. "No... Twilight... TWILIGHT!" "You want to see your big sister. Unfortunately she won't be able to see this addition to Equestria. She gave up..." "She... She wouldn't. Not just for me..." "But she did." "Should've seen the look on her face. I expected you to destroy her, but breaking her is more than perfect. And those eyes... you should've seen them. Blank, depressed, emotionless. But she was filled with acceptance. She accepted her faith." "No... not Twilight." "That's the main core of the bloody S. Destruction. And the S represents you, not me." "Twily... she shouldn't die because of me! She doesn't deserve to die! Why couldn't I die?! I am only alive to destroy!" He grabbed Spike's arm with his hoof, burning it. Spike growled, and then screamed. As he was screaming, tears burned his cheeks, his clenched eyes blinding his vision. After a few moments, Sombra released his arm. Spike opened his eyes, which were bloodshot. He saw a bloody S on it, but it had a green aura around it. "This world was meant to destroy." He grabbed his arm with his claw. Spike was crying uncontrollably. He had his arm grasped tightly. "Spike! Are you okay!? Tell us what's wrong!" Twilight yelled, galloping towards him. She wanted to hug him, but as soon as she was about to, Spike flinched. "Spike... what's..." "Why do you still care for me and your going to die because of me?" They all stared at him concerned. "Spike, just let is help you. Please tell us..." Rainbow pushed. "I can't tell you about this. I just can't. Just... stay away from me." Spike teleported away. "SPIKE!!!!" "LET DOWN THE FORCE FIELD! I'M GOING AFTER HIM!" Rainbow yelled. "Rainbow..." "Please Rarity... I can get him back... I know I can..." The team nodded. As soon as the force field was down, Rainbow dashed outside after him. Chapter Eleven: An Emotional HurricaneSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
Prologue: Glowing EyesSpike stared at the window in depression.
Spike, however, still felt bad for yelling at Twilight, for blowing up Applejack's cart of apples, and snapping at Pinkie
Chapter Two: The ReturnSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
Chapter Three: Some Secrets Out, Some Secrets HiddenApplejack coughed, but managed to speak.
We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.
Chapter Nine: Deeper into Darkness Part OneDiamond Tiara was sitting on a chair with a cup off coffee in her hoof.
