Equestria Girls In Disguise: Ghosts Of Our Past
A Missing Steeljaw
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWe now return to the Transformers...
The next morning gave birth to a fresh bright and sunny day with the sun shining right in the sky. It looked like it was going to be another bright day. The light glimmered the water in the lake, and cast shadows in the woods.
In the cabin, everyone was slowly waking up to the morning sun shining right in their window.
Bumblebee yawned, "Morning everybody."
"Morning Bumblebee," Fluttershy cooed.
Bumblebee looked at Fluttershy with a smile, "Morning Fluttershy."
Bumblebee got up on his feet, standing in front of Fluttershy. He wrapped his arms around her, giving her a big hug, and Fluttershy reciprocated.
"How are you?" Bumblebee asked.
"I'm fine, you?"
"I still feel amazing, thanks to you," Bumblebee said in a sweet voice.
Fluttershy blushed.
"I'm gonna step outside for a moment, give a report to Optimus real quick, then I'll be back in," Bumblebee said to the others waking up. He walked towards the front door, and stepped out closing behind.
As the others got up, Blaster reverted back into robot mode. He was about to start moving but he froze for a moment, and his eyes were darting back and forth. Something was off.
"Uh guys? Something's wrong..." Blaster said.
The others looked back at Blaster with deranged looks. It looked like Blaster was guilty of doing something wrong.
"What do you mean?" Lemon asked.
"I'm not sure..." Blaster wiped his hand on his chest, feeling it. Something wasn't right. "This just doesn't feel right..."
Sunny and Outback looked at Blaster with unamused looks.
"I'm sure it isn't because it probably doesn't look right Blaster," Outback said.
"No, part of me feels a little... empty. Hang on a nano-click," Blaster said raising a finger.
He pressed a button near the side of his face, just above his chest compartment, and the golden compartment cover opened up. And out flew three of his cassettes; Eject, Rewind, and Ramhorn. But no Steeljaw.
Everyone's eyes widened a bit when they looked. Where was Steeljaw?
"Blaster, didn't you have four cassettes?" Sunny asked.
Blaster looked around, "Yeah... I don't recall leaving any of them behind."
The cassette warriors paused and looked at each other, shrugging. They were just as confused as the rest.
"You don't think he might have gone out and wandered around for a bit, do you?" Fluttershy asked.
"Or worse, what if was...kidnapped? Oh my gosh, what if Wasp really is here? What if--" Sunny began before Outback interrupted.
"Sunny. I'm positive it isn't Wasp. Maybe he got lost somewhere in the night, or maybe something spooked him. Either way we have to find him fast. But if Wasp is around--"
"Hold on. I don't want Bumblebee scared again. We can't tell him what we're doing. We have to find Steeljaw and fast. Maybe we can find him using his tracking mechanism?" Fluttershy asked.
Blaster nodded, "I'll go see if I can pinpoint his location. In the meantime, we better go find him before Bumblebee freaks out again. Its bad enough he's stressing over Wasp, we don't need to add missing teammates on that list of things he's stressing over."
"Okay. Lets go," Fluttershy finished.
The group exited out of the cabin all dressed and ready, and looked at one another.
"Shouldn't we split into groups?" Sunny asked.
"Good point. Ramhorn, go with Fluttershy. Outback and Sunny, you're a team. Lemon Zest and I are one, Eject and Rewind are a team too. Beachcomber, any chance you can distract Bumblebee for a bit? Get him to follow you for a while?"
Beachcomber grinned.
"Okay, lets go!" Blaster cheered.
With Blaster's cheer sounded off, everyone split up into their groups to for their search and rescue. All the while Beachcomber stood by himself just pondering what he was gonna do.
His attention dropped back to see Bumblebee returning from a part of the woods, having just made his call.
"Okay Beach, just called Optimus, just let him know everything here's fine, we should be back to Canterlot at somepoint around 3:00. So, where'd everyone go?" Bumblebee asked.
Beachcomber looked around for a moment, and just shrugged.
"Okay then..." Bumblebee said.
"Oh before I forget, I wanted to show you something I saw by the side of the dock," Beachcomber said.
"Did you drop something in it?" Bumblebee huffed.
"No, no, come on I'll show you."
Bumblebee followed Beachcomber onto the wooden docks, metallic feet stomping against the hard wood. Beachcomber gestured to over the water, and Bumblebee leaned over to take a look.
"I don't see anything," Bumblebee said.
"Well you can't obviously, that's why you got to jump in!" Beachcomber cried.
Bumblebee's mouth just frowned, and his eyes lowered giving an unamused expression on his face.
"Not again..."
But it was too late and Bumblebee was grabbed and tossed into the water by a laughing Beachcomber. Bumblebee poked his head out of the water, spitting out water like a fountain.
"Next time we go somewhere on vacation, lets just bridge to Hawaii. I hear its nice this time of the year..." Bumblebee snarled.
With Sunny and Outback, the two of them kept their guards up as they walked together, trying not to lose focus of anything around them.
"Steeljaw?" Sunny called out.
"Steeljaw! Where are you?" Outback yelled. "You can't just go running out by yourself in these woods! I've seen the human horror films! Those who are in these scenarios never make it out alive!"
Sunny just stared at Outback looking unamused, "Do you really think that's helpful right now?"
Outback just let out a nervous chuckle, "Sorry."
"Lets just keep our focus on finding Steeljaw, and getting back to the cabin."
With that said, Sunny and Outback kept on walking, and kept their heads focused on the mission at hand.
As for Fluttershy and Ramhorn, the two of them didn't realize it, but they were walking on the same path that Steeljaw had walked on the night before. And Ramhorn was quickly picking up on the trail as he sniffed the ground, sniffing for Steeljaw's scent. Fluttershy's eyes darted back and forth as she was looking around in the trees, trying to see if maybe somebody was hiding in them. But all she got was trees, trees, and more trees.
The two listened for sounds, anything that would be out of the ordinary. But there was nothing out of the ordinary for them to hear. But there was nothing. The only sounds that their ears could process were the sounds of the nature around them, and the movement of their own feet.
However their walking turned into a complete stop. Ramhorn titled his head forward, gesturing Fluttershy to look. She looked ahead and crouched down to see. There were tiny lion footprints hollowed out into the dirt. It looked very recent.
"Steeljaw was here," Fluttershy murmured.
Ramhorn let out a grunt, and stomped his foot into the ground as he looked forward, there was something else he was looking at that wasn't real good. Up in front of them were tiny footprints, but these were smaller than Steeljaw's. To them, it looked like multiple sticks were jabbed into the ground and kept on moving. And there looked like the small holes were trailing off into the forest, and it was dragging something big that dug a trail into the dirt right behind it.
Fluttershy gulped, "I think whoever took Steeljaw went that way. You think we should keep going?"
Ramhorn let out a small noise, signalling yes.
"Okay, lets go."
Fluttershy and Ramhorn walked off into the woods, continuing to follow the path of the strange marks that the dirt was going into. Where did they go? Who could possibly out here making those tracks into the dirt? And why did this being take Steeljaw?
After cutting through more of the woods, the two stopped in front of a large cave where the tracks had ended. It looked like they found their destination.
"So Steeljaw's in there... Here we go," Fluttershy shivered.
Ramhorn huffed, getting Fluttershy's attention. Fluttershy looked, and Ramhorn extended out the arsenal of weaponry that he had supplied over his hind legs. Ramhorn made a stomp into the ground, and a few more noises, making Fluttershy giggle a bit.
"At least I've got you Ramhorn. Come on, we better find him fast," Fluttershy said.
Ramhorn didn't move, but instead just let out another noise.
"Call the others first?" Fluttershy asked.
Ramhorn bobbed his head up and down.
"Okay," Fluttershy said, pulling out her phone from her short jean pockets. She dialed in the number, and held it to her ear, while Ramhorn kept circling around her, trying to keep her safe and look out for any prowlers.
"Dude! What's up?" Lemon asked.
"Lemon, I need you tell the others this. We've just followed a set of tracks leading inside of a cave, and we believe Steeljaw is inside. We'll go have a look, and we'll let you guys know when we're done," Fluttershy said.
"Got it dude, Lemon out."
The phone hung up, and Fluttershy put it back in her pocket for her to carry. She looked around her belt for a flashlight, staring among the amount of tools that she had with her along with the tools that were in her saddlebag. A few glowsticks, some medical supplies, a few water bottles, and a mini Autobot pistol for her to use to defend herself. Luckily she had brought flashlights with her, and clutched it in her hand as she sealed her bag up again.
Once the light flickered on, she walked with Ramhorn and the two of them walked inside of the dark and damp cave, completely oblivious to the pair of red eyes staring at them from in the trees...
The two walked into the cave, with worrisome looks on their faces. They wanted to find Steeljaw and fast, and they had to find him fast. They didn't want to panic the others or worse, panic Steeljaw for very much longer.
The flashlight bounced around, casting its light all around the cave, capturing every solitary object in sight. But there weren't that many sights to be seen inside of the cave outside of rocks, more caverns, rocks, and more caverns. It was almost like there wasn't anything of value to be seen or taken from inside the cave.
Fluttershy and Ramhorn moved down another cavern, and Fluttershy cast her flashlight up on the ceiling. Just up above there were some glowing lights in the ceiling, all attached to part of the sharp rocks that were stabbing out of the ceiling.
"Interesting..." Fluttershy said.
Shrugging off the amazing sight, she kept on moving with the reddish-maroon colored rhinoceros.
The two looked towards the ground, but something they saw made them freeze in their tracks. There looked like a trail of blue liquid that had spilled on the ground. But with the way it looked, it looked like it had spilled a long time ago, and was permanently dry into the rocky terrain.
Fluttershy crouched down to get a closer look and nodded in agreement with Ramhorn, "Energon."
But as they got back up on their feet, they pointed their light to another cavern and gasped. Something they saw inside of the cave freaked them out. Inside there appeared to be a bunch of Cybertronians... all of them dead. They looked like they had died falling asleep, and their bodies were wrapped around giant blue chrysalis like eggs that were formed into the ground. While the sight alone was disturbing enough, along with the revolting smell, it looked like it occurred a long time ago and none of them looked recently dead. So there was some slight relief, but not a lot.
Ramhorn and Fluttershy winced back from the smell, both of them coughing from it. Ramhorn kept pecking at his face with his front hoof, trying to swat at his nose from how horrid the smell was.
"Lets just keep moving, hopefully the smell will be long gone," Fluttershy said.
The two of them kept on moving, and went down a right side of a cave wall, and came across two more caves were set up near the end of their path. But even there it looked like someone was recently here. In one cave, it was completely open, but the other was sealed off from a bunch of blue lasers set up, almost like a prison wall.
Ramhorn and Fluttershy, seeing no choice, walked into the cavern with no wall. There it was a dead end, but they could quickly see how it was being used. There were a ton of Cybertronian supply boxes set up in stacks, and a few of the cases were open. No Energon unfortunately.
Fluttershy moved her light towards some of the sources and found a few contents that did seem to reveal their purposes. But some items weren't that familiar with either.
"Ramhorn, can you see what this stuff is?" Fluttershy asked.
Ramhorn looked towards some of the stuff and moved closer, taking a gander at it. Ramhorn made one soft touch with his front hoof on a pair of stasis-cuffs and another strange metallic object that Fluttershy couldn't make out, and made some rhino noises.
"Stasis-cuffs and... what?"
Ramhorn made another noise.
"I didn't know Cybertronians even had those," Fluttershy said.
Ramhorn bobbed his head up and down.
"We better tell the others what we just saw," Fluttershy said.
Fluttershy pulled out her phone, and dialed in the number, this time calling someone else in mind. She didn't really want to be called 'dude' again.
"Outback and Sunny Flare here, what is it?" Outback called.
"Outback, Ramhorn and I have just come across some strange things in the cave. But we still don't see any sign of Steeljaw," Fluttershy said.
"Whatever it is, it still probably retains some importance. What is it?" Outback asked.
"Ramhorn and I are looking at several containers, and some of the contents that we're looking at are Cybertronian stasis-cuffs and mouth clamps. Do you know why someone would keep them supplied here?"
"Wait a minute. Those supplies belong to a Cybertronian police officer. All police officers back on Cybertron carried those to restrain whatever criminal were in custody of. I should know, they carried some of our Decepticons in with those. But wait, if those are there, then maybe someone stole supplies full of them and has been hiding out in that cave you're describing," Outback replied.
"I'm not so sure Outback, we saw some Cybertronians in the cave but they were..." Fluttershy gulped, "Dead."
"Yikes. Well if that's the case then just finish up your sweep and meet us back in the woods. I don't think Bumblebee can take anymore tosses into water. And I swear Beachcomber's enjoying that way too much," Outback said.
"Got it, over and out," Fluttershy said.
Fluttershy got back up on her feet and stood with Ramhorn. But as they turned around, they froze at what they saw. They were not alone, and whoever it was that stood behind them didn't look too good.
All they saw in the darkness were a pair of red glaring eyes staring down their souls. Fluttershy gulped.
"Uh.... hello..." Fluttershy said scared.
The figure didn't respond but instead a slender hand with long darkened fingers grabbed her by the chest making her yelp, and raised her up so she was looking right at the eyes. She breathed heavily as she stared at the eyes of the dark and mysterious figure, horrified at what she might be seeing.
The figure even leaned over and clutched Ramhorn by the middle of its chest. How it was able to carry a rhino that required probably two hands to carry she wouldn't understand.
It continued to stay silent, but Fluttershy could tell it was moving her and Ramhorn somewhere. The lasers that were set up on a side of a cave wall opened up, and the figure walked in still clutching them. Unexpectedly, it opened its hand, letting go of the two.
Fluttershy landed on her back, luckily on a soft terrain, while Ramhorn fell on his side. Both of them slowly backed away from the figure that was still staring down on them. What did this thing want?
"I'm not going down that easily. And your Autobot friends won't have anything to stand on once they see me..." The figure said chuckling.
The figure in the darkness, appeared to be backing away from them. But its eyes still stayed up in the same height it was. The laser gates fired up again, sealing off the entrance from him and the two smaller forms.
Once it sealed, the figure vanished off into the darkness, leaving them all on their own. Unsure of what to do, Fluttershy picked up her flashlight and shined it around the room they were in, trying to see if there was more than what was given to them. Shining it around, she saw a pair of blue eyes glowing in the darkness, staring at her.
Fluttershy moved the flashlight onto the figure exposing its entire body and gasped. There standing was Steeljaw. And he didn't look harmed or hurt in the slightest, he was all okay.
"Steeljaw!"
Steeljaw leaped over towards Fluttershy, and sat on its back legs to look at Fluttershy. She giggled hearing his panting.
"Are you okay?"
Steeljaw bobbed his head up and down.
"Did he lock you up in here?" Fluttershy asked.
Steeljaw nodded and let out a snarl. He was not happy to be locked up in that part of the cave, far away from his master and his own friends. But Steeljaw remembered something else he wanted to say, so he let out some more snarls.
"There's someone else in here with you?"
Steeljaw nodded, and tilted his head to the right side of the cave, just far off near the laser door. Fluttershy gazed into the darkness, and looked straight at a pair of pink scared eyes that were looking right back at her. Fluttershy moved her flashlight towards it and when she got a full glimpse of the figure she gasped.
There sitting by himself was a Cybertronian. A green one in fact, possessing a scratched out Autobot logo on his chest. And Fluttershy could see why there was a supply of tools near the other side of the cave, they were being used to hold this Cybertronian captive. There were chains wrapped around his legs, a pair of stasis cuffs around his arms keeping them secure, and a metallic clamp over his mouth keeping him silent.
Steeljaw let out another growl, and looked back at Fluttershy who continued to look shocked. She was given the name of this captive Cybertronian, and it wasn't someone she expected. All she let slip was one single word...
"Wasp..."
The Transformers will return after these messages...
