Finding Freedom

No one ever surprises me anymore. Then again no one scares me either. The reason? I overreact to it every time. I love that scared feeling, and I find it hilarious when people overreact to it.

For example, I was once in a library, somewhat close to the door. I had all my stuff together and was waiting on my friend who was in the bathroom. He snuck up behind me and shouted "Boo!" at me. Now it wasn't scary, but I made it seem like it was. I threw my hands up in the air and started screaming like hell, as I screamed I waved my hands frantically in the air I ran outside and down the street. Eventually I had to stop cause I couldn't breathe.

So when the lights blinded me and a shout of "Surprise!" reached my ears, I overreacted. In typical me fashion, I screamed loudly and waved my hooves in the air. This wasn't easy though, and I fell on my back. I stopped screaming and just started laughing. Everypony was giving me weird looks, but it was worth it.

Before I could do anything a pink face shot over me. I tried to prepare myself for the onslaught, but I don't think any amount of preparing would have helped in the end. It's like she was voiced in all caps and had no spaces in between her words.

"HI!I'MPINKIEPIEANDTHISISTHEPARTYITHREWYOU! WEREYOUREALLYTHATSCARED,BECAUSETHAT'SABITSILLY.ANYWAYIKNOWYOURNEWHERE,BECAUSE IKNOWEVERYPONY,BUTIDIDN'TKNOWYOU!SOWHAT'SYOURNAMEANDDOYOULIKEMYPARTY?" (It was hard not to press shift for the first words)

I had to stop, and replay the memory several times to understand what she just said. After I was sure I had all the conversation down I spoke to her.

"No I wasn't really that scared, but you did surprise me. My name is Copper Sparks, and as you pointed out I am new in town."

She laughed and said (slowly this time) "Well then that was good acting! I already surprised your friend, Lunar Crescent, so I wasn't sure if it would work twice."

A voice that I had hoped to not hear spoke out.

"I knew your name wasn't Green Dash, that sounds silly. Tell me darling why would you lie about that?"

If I still had hands, I would've snapped my fingers saying "so close", but I had to make do with hitting my hoof against the ground (still provided a satisfactory note). I decided that telling even more lies would get me into even more of a mess, but I only wanted to tell my story once.

"Honestly, my name isn't Copper Sparks either. I have a complicated story to tell, and I would prefer to only tell it once. If you could gather the friends you trust most, and Twilight Sparkle after the party then I will tell you the truth."

Rarity stared me down, "The whole truth? Promise?"

If I could have remembered the whole pinkie pie promise, I would've recited it, but I had to settle for simply nodding my head.
I could describe the party for you, but then that would spoil it if you ever get one. (I'm really just lazy and don't want to do a whole party scene ;]) So I'll give out an overview.

There was a lot of punch, but no alcohol, didn't bother me as I swore off the stuff. I also found an odd looking container, and after further inspection found that it was hot sauce. In a moment of inspiration I mixed the sauce and the punch and drank it. I spit out even faster than I had drank it.

"Silly, you're doing it wrong! You do it like this!" Pinkie Pie then proceeded to grab a muffin and apply a liberal amount of hot sauce to it (by liberal I mean, there was more sauce then muffin). She chewed and (thankfully) swallowed before giving me a huge grin.

Most of the party was spent mingling with the residents of Ponyville. I saw a few that I could recognize, Lyra, Bon-Bon, and the mayor. I also say a few whose names escaped me, but I could remember; A pony with messed up eyes, a colt with an hourglass on his flank, and the little orange pegasus.

For a while we played party games such as a variant of twister (much harder with hooves) , and of course pin the tail on the pony. I will admit it, I suck at that game. I managed to pin the tail on the head of the pony, earning a giggle from Pinkie Pie.
I didn't see Rainbow Dash or Applejack during the party (good cuz writing her lines is obnoxious, ah mean really? A cowpony?). I did meet up with Fluttershy again, nearly causing a awkward scene for everypony.

"Nice to see you again Fluttershy." Ya, especially because the last time I saw you wasn't even a half-four ago.

"It's..um.. Good to see you too… I was going to ask you to walk here with me, but you walked away before I could ask you.."

I don't like to be mean, but no she wasn't. She may have wanted to, but it would've taken her days to get the words out. It also worried me. That meant she had known about the party somehow, and I had been with her since I left the boutique. How did she know about the party so fast? Probably something to do with Pinkie Pie.

I chatted with a few more of the ponies, but the party was starting to die down, and people were leaving. It was dark outside, and almost everyone was gone. When the time came it was just me, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Lunar Crescent (Martin). Apparently Twilight was out somewhere, and we were waiting for her to get back. While we waited we started to clean up the mess that the party had left behind. Pinkie was still bouncing around when Lunar (Martin) came up to me.

In a hushed voice he said "So what are we gonna do? What do we tell them?"

I shushed him "We will tell the truth, nothing more, nothing less. Nice name by the way, Lunar Crescent?" I knew Rarity was listening in on our discussion, but I still was telling the truth, lying would get us nowhere.

He snorted "It's better than Copper Sparks."

"I was pressed for time, besides I'm bad with names."

As we argued time slowly passed. After what seemed like an hour (and probably was one), hooves could be heard outside. It was here where I somewhat kind of panicked. Twilight might not even be here, it was suspicious that only 3 of the mane-six showed up at the party. Twilight could be missing, or trapped and in danger, anything! My fears were misplaced, as the door slammed open and the purple (lavender?) unicorn walked in, followed by Rainbow Dash and Applejack.
I steeled myself for what was likely to be a long night, and a long talk. Funny I had hoped to avoid that by not having children. (Someone actually did the Dovahkin thing. That kid is officially badass). All of sat down on the floor in a circle with everyone looking at me and Lunar.

Applejack opened her mouth first (but then I ended the chapter, it's four am and Ah'm not in the mood to write her dialogue).
