I swear

Rainbow turned into the church parking lot keeping an eye out for Fluttershy. Her soon to be wife had promised to meet her at the church a few hours early so that they could make sure that the reception room was all ready for their party, and talk to each other for a while before they weren’t allowed to see each other; however neither her nor her car were in sight.

“Ugh Fluttershy you promised me you’d be here on time. Oh well, I might as well go inside and see what Pinkie’s done with the Reception room.

Fluttershy stood in front of the mirror in Rarity’s boutique looking at the dress her friend had made for her wedding. She was still unsure about whether this was truly a good idea; sure her and Rainbow Dash had known each other since they were in elementary school, and had been together since they had graduated a few years ago, but marriage was a huge step in anyone’s life.

Am I really ready for this? I mean I love Dashie with all my heart, but marriage. Are we really sure we’re ready for that? Thought Fluttershy looking once again at the pink diamond ring on her right ring finger; the very ring that in a few hours’ time Dash would put on her left ring finger, the hand closest to the heart.

“Rarity, you’ve known me and Dashie for years now, and I know I can trust you to be honest with me. Do you think me and Dashie are making a mistake. I mean this is such a big step. I mean we’re only twenty five. We have our whole lives to get married, Do You think it’s too soon?”

Rarity stood up from fitting the dress to Fluttershy and looked at her friend.

“Fluttershy, Listen to me darling. Love knows no age, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen in all my years of being a tailor a couple more in love with each other. If anyone can make this work it’s you two, you’ve just got to believe in your love for Rainbow Dash, and everything will work out okay.”

Rarity Grabbed Fluttershy and hugged her then, and noticed her shaking.

“Fluttershy, you’re shaking hun. Are you really that afraid of this? Asked Rarity sincerely

“Yes I am.” Whispered Fluttershy as she started to cry slightly.

“Well then, I really think you ought to go talk to Rainbow Dash. You can’t be having any doubts in your mind when you say your vows to each other. She should be at the church by now anyways. Come on now sweetheart. Let’s get you to her, and put those fears to rest.” Said Rarity grabbing Fluttershy by the wrist, and leading her out to the car.

“Pinkie, This place looks wonderful!” Exclaimed Rainbow Dash as she entered the reception hall. The hall had been decorated in a beautiful sapphire blue, and the drapes had sapphires embedded in them, and in every vase were blue roses.

“I’m glad you like it Rainbow Dash. The theme is commitment; after all you are the element of loyalty after all.” Laughed Pinkie Pie. She had done up her long hair in a French braid, and was wearing a beautiful blue dress which clashed horribly with her cotton candy pink hair. In fact she clashed with everything in the room, but Rainbow Dash still thought Pinkie looked good in her dress.

“Thanks again for making me your best woman Rainbow I couldn’t be happier. Squealed Pinkie hugging Rainbow Dash around the neck.

“It’s no problem Pinkie. You’ve always been there for me when I needed someone to make me smile, so it really wasn’t that hard of a decision. Plus since Rarity’s being Fluttershy’s bridesmaid, Applejack’s doing the catering, and Twilight’s doing the planning you were the only one left who I knew well enough to do it.

“Still, thank you Dashie.” Said Pinkie hugging Dash. It was a well-kept secret of the six friends that Pinkie Pie was very much in love with Rainbow Dash, but when Pinkie finally told Dash her feelings it was too late; Rainbow had already fallen in love with Fluttershy. However the two of them remained the best of friends, and Pinkie was grateful enough just to have Dash as a friend rather than not at all.

“So Pinkie, Where did you get the money for all these blue roses? I mean regular roses are expensive enough, but blue roses are in a whole another league!” Asked Rainbow Dash picking up one of the many vases in which the rare flowers sat in spring water.

“Oh let’s just say Sugarcube corner is doing really well recently, ever since I took over for the Cakes.” Giggled Pinkie bouncing away to check on the music that would be played that night.

“Ah Pinkie Pie will always be Pinkie pie” Dash laughed to herself as she went to check out the chapel.

“Ah Rainbow Dash, It’s wonderful to see you honey. I’m so happy for you and Fluttershy!” Said Luna when she noticed Dash come through the chapel doors, She wrapped her long arms around Dash’s shoulders and gave her a tight hug.

“Thanks Luna, It means a lot to hear you say that.” Replied Dash taking in Luna’s form. She was wearing a midnight blue dress with moons all over the hem. It may not have matched the sapphire blue that Pinkie had decorated the church, but it matched Luna perfectly.

“Of course Dash. It’s wonderful that you two are finally deciding to get married. I mean the last wedding that I was at was Cadence and Shining Armor’s since you know.“ Said Luna adding a rather sad tone to the last part.

It was a well-known fact that Luna and Celestia were madly in love with each other, but because of an ancient Equestrian law that the Parliament wouldn’t let them change they were unable to get married for the fact that they were sisters. When they had come out to the country, it had caused a massive backlash and the Parliament had tried to remove them as the Princesses. However only Celestia and Luna had enough magical power to cause sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset, so they had no choice. They had to allow the incestuous sisters to continue ruling, and it was only Celestia threating to send each and every one of them to the sun that made them allow same sex marriages to become legal.

“You know I think that’s so bogus!” Spat Dash punching one of the columns “You love her, so what if she’s your sister. I’m so tired of those stuffed shirts trying to stuff their outdated bigoted views on us!” It was then that Celestia decided to step in before Dash destroyed her church. She walked up to the rainbow haired girl and gave her a hug as well.

“Dash, you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you stick up for me and Luna, but if you had seen the offspring of incestuous relationships; you’d see why Luna and I had to make that law. I know that it may not seem very fair, but if you were able to grow to the age that me and Luna are, you’d be quite used to the fact that life isn’t always fair my child.”

“But you’re women; you can’t have kids together, so you wouldn’t have to worry about that; I mean couldn’t you try and get it changed for just same sex incest couples.” Said Dash trying to find a loophole for her friend and her sister.

“Dash, Listen to your self hun. That would be about as fair as the last law banning same sex marriages was. If one type of couple in a relationship were allowed to get married wouldn’t it make scene that all the relationships of that type be allowed to get married. Now let’s stop this; there’s someone who wants to talk to you that I think you’ll be happy to see.” Said Luna turning Rainbow Dash around to face Fluttershy and Rarity.

“Well hey you finally made it Fluttershy. Oh by Celestia that dress makes you look so beautiful!” Said Dash running up to Fluttershy and kissing her passionately

“Wait beautiful, Dress, Rainbow Dash. Ugh I forgot to change Fluttershy out of the wedding dress oh no!” Screamed Rarity pulling at her hair which was tied back in a braid and decorated with combs incrusted with sapphires.

“Now Rarity don’t ruin your hair, it’s not that big of a deal! That whole ‘it’s bad luck for a bride to be seen in her wedding dress by her partner before their married’ is an old wife’s tale!” Said Luna running up the Rarity and grabbing her hands to keep her from having to spend hours in front of a mirror again.

“Of course, I’m so sorry Princess. Thank you for keeping my coiffure from being ruined, but I digress. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy wants to talk to you about something important, so if I could ask the Princesses to leave we’ll leave you two in private.

“Indeed, if they need to talk then they should do it in private.” Said Celestia opening the door and holding it open for Luna and Rarity, and then shutting it with a snap.

“What’s wrong Flutters? Have you been crying?” Asked Dash drawing her fingers under Fluttershy’s red and puffy eyes.

“Rainbow Dash. How can you be so sure that we’re ready for this? Cried Fluttershy collapsing into Dash’s arms and sobbing

“Oh Flutters.” Said Dash stroking Fluttershy hair and holding her close; letting her cry as much as she wished. “Listen we can do this, Do you trust me?” Asked Dash once she was sure that Fluttershy was done crying.

“Of course I trust you Dashie! I trust you with my life, I love you!” Answered Fluttershy as strongly as she could though her tears.

' “Then that’s all we need, Flutters! As long as we trust and love each other nothing the world can throw at us can tear us apart. Not idiot parliament members, or idiots who try and say that two woman or two men can’t love each other like a man and woman can. Okay, I love you, and I’ll die before I let anyone hurt you!” Explained Dash hugging Fluttershy as tightly as she could and kissing her again slipping her tongue between Fluttershy’s lips. Fluttershy meeped in surprise before she started to kiss back.

“You always taste like strawberries Dashie.” Said Fluttershy blushing once they broke apart.

“Well, you know I love them.” Said Dash letting go of Fluttershy and smiling.

“I know, I love them too, and I’m sorry for being so afraid of everything.” Said Fluttershy bowing her head a little.

“Hey, listen to me Fluttershy! How many times have I told you this? You never have to be sorry for being yourself okay. If someone has a problem with you then buck em! Okay the only person who’s opinion should matter to you in a few hours is mine!” Snapped Dash grabbing Fluttershy's hand and taking off Fluttershy’s ring, and placing it in her hand

“You see these rings?” Said Dash taking her ruby wedding ring off and putting it next to Fluttershy’s.
Fluttershy nodded, and Rainbow continued.

“They mean we belong to each other, No one else! You’re the only one I care about, yours is the only opinion I care about, and the same should be for you. I’ve told you, I love you just the way you are, and if anyone else doesn’t like it then I’ll pop em in the face!” Said Rainbow Dash putting the rings back on her’s and Fluttershy’s fingers.

“I know it’s just really hard for me to remember that sometimes.” Explained Fluttershy hugging Rainbow Dash.

“Well we can work on it Flutters, but for now we should go up to the dressing rooms, and get ready. Rarity’s more than likely ripping her hair out saying we’re taking too long.” Laughed Dash opening the door for Fluttershy and following her out.

“So is your resolve set now Fluttershy?” Asked Rarity as she did Fluttershy’s makeup and some last minute fixes to her dress.

Fluttershy took a look at herself in the mirror again. Forever, I promised Rainbow Dash. I won’t chicken out this time. Fluttershy clenched her hands together and turned to Rarity. “Yes, I promised Rainbow Dash forever, and that’s what I’m going to give her!” Rarity hugged her friend and wiped a couple of tears away “That’s what I want to hear. You’ll make a beautiful bride Fluttershy, now come on I think I hear your cue.”

“Are you nervous Rainbow Dash?” Asked Celestia as she took her place at the head of the hall next to Rainbow Dash.

“Well um I.” Began Rainbow Dash before she was cut off by the opening of Wagner's wedding march, and Fluttershy entering the room Rarity at her side and Sweetie Belle and Applebloom holding up Fluttershy’s dress train.

Whoa she looks so beautiful! Though Rainbow Dash as Fluttershy stepped up to her spot across from her.

“Are we ready to begin?” Asked Celestia to this both Fluttershy and Rainbow nodded their accent.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered together here in the sign of love, and in the face of this company, to join together these two women in holy matrimony, which is commended to be honorable among all people and therefore is not by any to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this holy estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together let them speak now or forever hold their peace.” Read Celestia from the traditional wedding vows with a few tweaks to make the gay marriage friendly; when no one said anything Celestia continued.

“Marriage is the union of two people in heart, body and mind. It is intended for their mutual joy, and for the help and comfort given on another in prosperity and adversity. But more importantly it is a means through which a stable and loving environment may be attained.Through marriage, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy make a commitment together to face their disappointments, embrace their dreams, realize their hopes, and accept each other’s failures. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy will promise one another to aspire to these ideals throughout their lives together through mutual understanding, openness, and sensitivity to each other.

We are here today because of love, to witness the joining in marriage of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. This occasion marks the celebration of love and commitment with which these two women begin their life together. And now through me love joins you together in one of the holiest bonds, May we have the rings?” Said Celestia putting Rainbow and Fluttershy’s hands together and turning to Scootaloo. Scootaloo handed Fluttershy Rainbow Dash’s ring and Rainbow Fluttershy’s.

"Do you Rainbow Dash take Fluttershy to be your wife; to live together honorably in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon her your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.” Answered Rainbow

"Do you Fluttershy take Rainbow Dash to be your wife; to live together honorably in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon her your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her as long as you both shall live?

“I shall.” Answered Fluttershy

“Excellent, and now you just need to read your vows to each other, and this will be done.” Explained Celestia beaming. Looking at the two with great joy. “Rainbow Dash why don’t you go first.”

“Yeah.” Answered Rainbow with a nod “Fluttershy, I love you. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard these things I give to you today, and all the days of our life,” Recited Rainbow Dash as she slipped the ring onto Fluttershy’s finger, and wiped her eyes as she had started to cry half way through.

Fluttershy didn’t fare any better as she tried not to break into tears as Rainbow read her vows. She wiped her eyes squeezed Rainbow hand and began her own.

"Rainbow Dash, from the moment I first saw you, I knew you were the one with whom I wanted to share my life. Your beauty, heart, and mind inspire me to be the best person I can be. I promise to love you for eternity, respecting you, honoring you, being faithful to you, and sharing my life with you. This is my solemn vow.” Recited Fluttershy through a torrent of tears.

“Excellent, then may you always share with each other the gifts of love, be one in heart and in mind; may you always create a home together that puts in your hearts, love, generosity, and kindness. In as much as Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have consented together in marriage before this company of friends and family, and have pledged their faith, and declared their unity by giving and receiving a ring are now joined.

You have pronounced yourselves as married, but remember to always be each other’s best friend.
Let what love has joined together let no man put asunder, And so, by the power vested in me as one of the Princess of Equestria and love, I now pronounce you wed, and may your days be good and long upon the earth. You may now kiss the bride.” Declared Celestia moving out of the way so that the two lovers could wrap their arms around each other, and revel in the joys of being married.

Author’s notes: Well there we are, this was an idea I came up with about two and a half months ago, but I wanted to make sure I got it as close as I could get to it being perfect, so critiques are strongly encouraged, I’m going to comb through it before I post it, but if you see a typo, or something that just doesn’t really work let me know. The first idea was to add a reception to the story, but my heart was telling me that the ending was a good place to stop, but if you guys want a reception just go ahead and let me know I might add it as a bonus chapter, or possibly make this into a multi chapter if it takes off well enough.
