So with the sisters delt with we flew back to the cottage and told my parents to go to the castle. Twilihgt stayed with me as we went to stop the fighting guards and soldiers.

“HALT ALL OF YOU! CELESTIA AND LUNA HAVE BEEN DEFEATED AND THE ‘BATTLE’ IS OVER!” everypony stop turned to Twilly and me and bowed. Lots of ponies were dead and many had been evacuated. The 2 captains of the sisters approached us both partially injured but would heal.

“Your Majesties, you have won the battle and for that we are grateful.” Silver moon stated.

“Indeed, Your majesties you have our support as your royal guard. We will swear loyalty to you and help you bring peace back to this land. Lightning flash continued.

“Thank you captains. Could you please go round and gather any and everypony who is alive and bring them to the front of the castle. We need to address the public and tell them it’s safe. Twilight and I will be waiting there.”

“Of course your majesties.” And with that the captains went and got all our remaining citizens. Twilly and I walked to the castle most of it was broken and would need replacing… We was greeted at the door to the castle by the advisors of the princesses. They bowed.

“Your Majesties. Thank you for saving the city… we are sorry we was unable to stop the sisters on our own.”

“Yes princess Celestia told us to get out of her chambers when we asked for an audience.”

“Princess Luna let us in but didn’t listen she just told us to wait for her to return…”

“Okay so as you’re the advisors what in equestria do we do now!”

“Twilly calm down we can sort this out we have dealt with worst…”

“Well your majesties…”

“Please our names our fine…”

“Of course Ms sparkle. Well Celestia was the main ruler and Luna helped… And of course the Main ruler of equestria needs to stay in the city…”

“Well I can't stay here I have my own castle and my own Friendship duties to deal with… Brother?”

“Woah wait are you trying to tell me I should be the new ruler!”

“Is that Not what I prepared you for Shine?” I looked at the book but it wasn’t coming from the book…

“Wait where…”

“I’m here shining, I can only stay like this for a while but I hope I can be to some use.”

“You couldn’t have done this earlier and HELPED US!”

“That was your final test… as I couldn’t give you the one in the arena I decided this would have to be your test…”

“Okay so what do we do….”

Darkice laughed and walked in the doors. We all followed. “First things first… what do we call you? Prince?, Ruler?, alicorn? Or maybe King fits better?...Ssecond how are you going to clear up this mess? Third what are going to be your laws so this doesn’t happen again?”

“Wait why me!”

“You have the power…” an advisor said.
“Your sister cant stay here…” another advisor said.
“You have a little experience from the empire…” Twilly added.

“Okay so what are your answers your first 3 decisions as ruler?” as Darkice said this he gestured to the throne. Walking towards it I thought… Faced them, I voiced my first actions that had to be addressed the title could wait…

“First I want to clear up the mess city by city step by step… We first tell the citizens its safe and we need help clearing up the city. Once done we bring down any buildings and the castle that are unsafe and make the city safe… We then bring back the families we sent to Ponyville and bring them home. The law will mainly stay the same but we need more guards and a bigger army for protection with the sisters gone any enemy will see this a the perfect time to strike. I also wish to bring back the execution law. We are spending far too much on criminals! For now you can all call me Shining nothing more nothing less.”

“Sound good to me…” Twilly had my back.

“It’s a start although you will need a real title soon shining as enemies might see the equestria had no ruler…” A nervous advisor said.

We walked out of the throne room to meet the citizens. “Citizens of Canterlot I understand you are confused and scared…but you have no need to be now. The 2 ragging goddesses have been banished to the sun and moon.” Gasps were heard over the crowd.

“How will the sun and moon move if they are gone!”
“What do we do without them?”

“I will be taking their positions with my sister helping, Twilight will be stationed in ponyville and I will be here. I have the power to move the sun and moon thanks to a powerful deceased alicorn I had the power to banish them both with the help of Twilight.”

“Why should we trust you when you have the sign of evil! You look just like Sombra!”

“I understand that but I wasn’t like him was I? I helped you. I have saved you. My sister has saved you. The next few months will be challenging but I will not stop until equestria is back to its land of peace. Please trust me to help you.”

“You may have noticed there are not many young foals around… My brother and I sent them to ponyville where they would be safe. They were in schools when we got them out hours later those schools were flattened. My brother gave me and others the order to get them out and he was right to do so… I trust him so do the advisors.” Twilly nuzzled me.

“I do as well! He saved me from the Night Princess…” The filly from the house came running out of the crowd up the steps and nuzzled us.

“LONG LIVE THE SPARKLE SIBLINGS! LONG LIVE PRINCESS TWILIGHT! LONG LIVE KING SHINING!” The guard haled. The crowds soon joined in.

“Told you, you were right for this job.” Darkice winked before fading away.

Once the crowd had stopped I told every pony the plan me, Twilly, Brave and Furry helped clear the castle. We took the castle down leaving nothing but the furniture behind. With our help the castle was replace within a few days and the rest of the city had cleared the town of rubble. With the castle done the city was next. Home and street cleared of concreate, wood and stone. We replace the homes as many as we could and restore the city for what it was. We had a lot of rubbish and hundreds upon hundreds of bodies.

About a week later once the city was deemed safe me and Twilly took a carriage around equestria telling them what had happened and that they was welcome at the bottom of Canterlot mountain that night for a final farewell. That night I stood holding a board writing each and everyponies name down as the bodies were counted and piled up. The rubbish was the base and the bodies were place on top. By the Canterlot waterfall looked so lovely at dust, as I set the sun Twilight spoke.

“Tonight we honour all the lives we lost because of the 2 royal goddesses that turned into tyrants. Let it be known that they can be remembered as lovely rulers but in the end cannot be forgiven for the crime that they have committed. We set the sun on this horrible chapter in equestria history and are reminded that our loved ones rest in peace in a better place.” As twilight ended I landed next to her and lit the bonfire. Ending such a horrible 3 months.
