Truth or Dare-the Game Begins

"But you haven't even found the cards yet. . .?" Trixie lifted a hoof in confusion.

"Oh, uuh. . ." Starlight Glimmer glanced around sheepishly. Then she caught sight of it, and drew it up to her using her magic. "Right here!"

Trixie gave an amused chuckle. "Alright." She rolled her eyes playfully, passion for Starlight burning strong in her heart. "Let's play."

Starlight stared down stupidly at the see-through, plastic box. "So, uh. . .How do we play?" She looked up at Trixie, bemused.

"Well, I'd ask you, 'truth or dare?', and well, you'd say which one you want. Then I'm assuming you just pick a random card. . ." Trixie folded her magic around a card and examined it, puzzled. "I just don't know how we tell what the card is." She gave the card one last examination before emitting a loud AHA! of conclusion. "It says 'DARE' on the back. . .Well, I think front, right here! And all of the cards are facing this way!"

Starlight nodded vigorously, excitement fizzing up inside of her. "So, then, what's truth? I'm assuming dare is-"

"Something that most ponies don't choose." Trixie's tone was irritable. "Also known as, please don't be one of the ponies who ONLY chooses truth?"

Starlight nodded slowly, drinking in the information. If Trixie likes something, she thought compassionately, then I want to learn everything that I can about it.

"So, all in all, choose wisely but yet fairly." Trixie set the card down. "According to that card, I suppose these dares will just be silly, like the fillies version of this game."

"Is that a good or bad thing?"

"Depends."

"On what?"

"Whether you want to kiss me or not. Usually ponies who do this for you just want you to be humiliated. It's pretty much the whole purpose of the game."

Starlight flinched. "Really? Why did you suggest it?"

"Because I didn't know you had these." Trixie kicked the box sassily.

"Okay." Starlight whimpered. Was that. . .disappointment in her neigh?

Meanwhile, Trixie had drifted deeply into her thoughts. She shook her head like a wet dog, pushing away her thoughts, before neighing; "W-Well. . .Let's get started. Truth or dare?"

"Uhm. . .Truth?" Starlight plopped onto her haunches, her tail wrapped around her hind legs.

Trixie sighed agitatedly. "Loser. . ." She muttered before drawing a truth card up to her. "Do you have a crush on Princess Twilight Sparkle. . ." Trixie's mouth thinned into a straight line across her cheeks, her eyes a mixture of what-the-buck-is-this and horror. Her eyebrows were pushed down flat on her disbelieving eyes.

"Er. . .No. . .?" Starlight shook her head, bewildered. "Who the buck was the"-Trixie flinched at her language-"anonymous pony who made this?!?" Her tone was scathing."I mean, these-"

Trixie was shaking with stifled laughter, snickering uncontrollably. "There's the kind of question this dumb game requires!" She chuckled, laughter exploding out of her. She clutched her belly and fell onto her back, her hind legs churning in the air. Tears started to form in her eyes but barely fell out.

"What?!" Starlight demanded, slamming a hoof imperiously on her floor.

"Th-Th-This is-is th-the kind of que-question I was talking about!" Trixie's voice rose into another bellow of laughter. She sat up on her haunches and dabbed a tear away from her right eye with a hoof, relaxing.

"Well, whatever. Let's see your reaction to these questions. Truth or dare?"

Trixie smiled. "Dare." She stated flatly, curling her tail around her hooves.

"Well, okay." Starlight folded her magic around a dare card and whisked it up to her. "I dare you to. . .Lock eyes with the pony across from you for the rest of the night." Starlight stared into Trixie's eyes, which had almost immediately locked into hers. Starlight shivered.

"Truth or dare." Trixie asked flatly, her gaze glued into Starlight's blue own.

"Er. . .Dare."

Trixie drew a card up with out looking. She only flicked her gaze away to read aloud; "Tell the pony closest to you, not physically but mentally, as in friendship, that you want to buck." A frown slid down Trixie's face. She slowly looked up at Starlight, who's breathing was increasing.

"Er. . .Uh. . .Let's. . .I wanna buck. . .?" Starlight stammered, uneasiness prickling in her pink fur.

Trixie's gaze was once again glued to Starlight's, as if the blue illusionist was in some sort of trance, like the love poison that the CMC had given Cheerilee (Big Macintosh, as well, but Trixie looked more like Cheerilee in this case). She leaned in closer to Starlight. "Are you serious?"

Starlight felt dismayed and unsettled, the world swaying on her hooves. Trixie leaned in so close that the two unicorns' noses touched and it sent a ripple of yearn into both of them, most of all Starlight.

"T-Tr-Truth or dare. . ." Starlight managed to choke out.

"Dare." Trixie's tongue squeezed out of her slightly parted jaws and gingerly ran up Starlight's mouth to nose.

Starlight stood rigid, frozen with shock. "O-Okay, Trixie!" She quavered, staggering back clumsily. "Let's not get carried away!"

"Let's. . ." Slowly Trixie licked her lips, still in a trance of longing.

"Truth or dare?" Starlight smoothed out the spiked up fur on her chest with a hoof, which was wet from her fresh saliva.

"Dare." Answered Trixie in a are-you-stupid tone, the hint of laughter in her neigh.

Starlight eyed her companion skeptically before sorting through the cards, picking out a dare one. "I dare you to. . .Read ten books in three days. . ." Starlight gaped in dismay. "I think that the anonymous pony was Twilight." She confessed, giving the card to examination. They're also flash cards, she thought as evidence.

"Ya think?" Trixie asked sarcastically. "It can't be!" She smacked a hoof against her forehead in mock appall, falling to the ground. "How could it ever?"

"Because Twilight loves books and-"

"Starlight. I was being sarcastic, you dingbat."

"O-Oh. S-sorry, Trixie. I'm a little shaken from earlier. What time is it even?"

"It's almost nine. Why? Do you need a nap?" Trixie taunted, her tone actually quite a but hurtful.

She seems so un-phased by what she just did to me, thought Starlight in awe, I just have to act the same! She's just back to the same ol' Trixie! Starlight uttered a content sigh.

"Tonight has been very stressful for me, in case you haven't noticed. I am just wondering simply because it seems much later than it is and I want to make sure that we're safe from Twilight; not being too loud, too quiet, too suspicious. Anything like that."

Twilight came hollering down the corridor just as Starlight was finishing up her last sentence.

"Celestia darn it!" Trixie cursed under her breath. "Why does Twilight have to be so annoying and bossy?" And so good at everything!

"What was that?!" Starlight asked curtly, before shouting; "Whatever! Git!"

Trixie scrambled, berserked, under Starlight's bed, and the powerful pink unicorn threw the box under the bed in front of where Trixie lay.

Starlight plodded slowly to her door, opening it slightly and peering out. "What would Twilight want from me now?" She groused, scanning the corridor for a thick purple coat and colorful purple-and-pink mane, only to find that their wasn't one. Instead, there was a blue-coated Pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane, frantically searching the castle. She lifted herself off of the ground, the flap of her wings echoing down the halls. She bit on her hooves.

Starlight blinked in confusion, shrinking back into her room and quietly shutting the door with a careful hoof.

"Who was that?" A wavering voice asked from under Starlight's bed.

"I-I don't know. . .Rainbow Dash. Somehow. . .But why. . ." Starlight fumbled for words, so bewildered that she blinked many times a minute. Trixie's spine flexed and her belly slid against the ground as she heaved herself out from under Starlight's bed, and she plodded up to Starlight in empathy, wrapping a hoof around the unicorn's neck.

"I have no idea why Rainbow Dash would be looking around the castle," she began, "but perhaps Trixie should stay hidden? Maybe she's looking for Trixie! A spy!" Trixie's hackles lifted in horror at the idea and she scrambled back under Starlight's bed after throwing down a smoke bomb. Starlight emitted a volley of coughs, her hoof wagging over her mouth as she strained to get the fake smoke from her lungs. She shook out her fur before stepping carefully over to Trixie and bending down her forequarters, muzzle to muzzle with the illusionist.

"It's gonna be okay, Trixie! I promise that I won't let her-them-catch you!" Starlight rubbed her nose-tip against Trixie's briefly before backing off. And just in time, too.

"There you are, Starlight! I've been looking all over for you!" Rainbow Dash strained to keep the quaver from her voice, which was dripping with apprehension and reluctance like honey from a spoon. Anxiety thrived in Rainbow Dash's belly and mingled with her dismay, causing the blue Wonderbolt to feel as though there was a bee hive inside of her.

"Yeah. Why are you here, Rainbow Dash?" Starlight lifted a forehoof in confusion, turning to face Rainbow Dash, whose fur was prickling and standing up like porcupine quills. She felt her own pink fur start to bristle at why Rainbow Dash was acting like this.

Rainbow Dash gulped hard before replying; "Come and eat dinner, Starlight Glimmer. We want you there. Make you-yo-" Tears gushing into Rainbow Dash's eyes and her throat closed. "I'm so sorry. . ." Her forelegs bent and her muzzle slapped the ground, tears slipping down her scrunched muzzle and creating little puddles on the floor.

Starlight was stiff with confusion. "Wh-What happened? What did you do?!"

"I-. . .Twil-" Rainbow dash flapped her wings feebly a few times, even though it didn't pick her up (she hadn't meant for it to).

"Well, I'll come down with you. Just give me a sec." Finally Starlight could move, and so she ushered Rainbow Dash out of her room, closing her door with her back once the emotional Pegasus was finally out.

There was a sniff from under Starlight's bed.

"What just happened?" Trixie asked, perplexed. She was trembling under Starlight's bed.
