Twilight is a smart, dependable, tough alicorn with a knowledge of being a detective. She knows how to stay calm in certain situations, find resources in different materials, and read about twenty times a day.

Pinkie Pie is Twilight's adoptive cousin and best friend. She is also Twilight's partner of being a detective. She is goofy and likes to have fun, but she is also too serious ,quite intelligent for her own good, and is a master of disguise. Being younger than Twilight, she is often worried about Twilight's safety and well being. But she hardly sees Twilight broken or anything.

Enter their next case.

After another case solved, Princess Celestia informs Twilight that her old friend MoonDancer has been murdered. Twilight, understandably angry, wants this case solved as soon as possible.

Rarity also hears this horrible news. On the news. She, along with her younger and somewhat smarter brother Spike, head out themselves. Rarity is somewhat a detective, but she simply do it for fun. It somehow amuses her. Her work, along with Spike's, don't get as acknowledged as it should.

As the four meet, Rarity will try to teach Twilight a somewhat different way to investigate.
