Time Keeper

                                                               PROLOGUE  

                                                                  ….DESTINED FOR?“how did this life get so dull…”the young colt turned his head to look at the clock,1:23 A.M “I need to do something, I can't sleep”, he stands up off the bed, and walks in the guest room, a picture of his parents is on the stand, “oh… its been almost 4 years…. he walks over to the piano, and sits on the bench, a memory of him and his mother pops in his head. “mom, why do we die?”, “Well my little Neon, everything is balanced on time, years from now, when i'm gone, you will be bigger and stronger, and it was time that changes us.”* *“i don’t want to change.”“don't worry my little Neon, you won't change.” she plays a calming melody.“I never changed”, a tear came to his eye, it rolled down his cheek and landed on the floor, it started glowing, but Neon didn't notice it, a knock on the door came to his ear.he walked over to the door and opened it using his horn.a young beautiful mare, with purple mane was standing there.“Neon?”“Oh, hi Amber, what is it?”“ahh, my mother wanted to know if you wanted to join us for dinner, so i just ahh you know….“Oh, i don’t think so Amber, but thank you anyways.”“Come on Neon its been 4 years…Neon snapped his eyes at her.her cheeks turned bright red, “im sorry, i just thought”….i’ll just go. she started to walk away, Wait said Neon, “I guess, I could come over for a little while, let me get dressed first.” “oh, ok” she said with a smile, “I’ll wait for you.”“well if you want you can come inside until i’m done, It’s kind of cold out,” he opens the door for her to come in.she walks by him into the house, the place is actually very clean.so said Neon, “i’ll get dressed and you can sit in the livingroom,” ok said Amber, “just don't take too long.”I won't said Neon as he walked in the other room, he realized that he hadn't taken a shower in a while, well it couldn't hurt to take a short shower he said to himself, he jumped in and turned it on, the sound of the water hitting the tub, and the feel of warm water running down his mane made him feel a bit calmer than anything.“now don’t make the floor all wet my little Neon,” she said with a smile, “I won’t mommy” said Neon, she just smiled and she walked out, “mommy? mommy, don’t go,” she walked back in the room, “I will never leave you” she said with a smile. and started humming her melody**“She lied to me” thought Neon, “she said she would never go and now she is gone”, he turned the water off, opened the shower curtain, and used his horn to cover himself up with a towel.He put on a shirt and and his scarf, and walked in the livingroom, Amber is on the couch curled up in a ball with her eyes closed, he just smiles and walks over to her nudges her with his nose, “Amber? you awake?” she starts stretching her legs and yawns, “oh im sorry Neon, i was a little too comfortable”, it’s ok said Neon with a smile, “shall we go?” “oh yeah...she looked around trying to get back to herself, “ok lets go” she said as she stood up on her hooves.“ahh, yeah ok”. he opened the door and walked out, he could not remember the last time he could feel the soft snow touch his face, it was cold yet calming.“Neon?” “yeah?” “you alright?” “oh….yeah lets get going”, they started for Amber's house, “i don't really remember the last time i came outside, it's colder than i remember”.“well you're taller than i remember Neon, we use to be the same height but now i'm shorter, it's not fair” Amber whimpered, Neon only smiled, they were getting further in town, and it was warmer, Neon lived on the outer area of the city. where it's darker and ugly, and it's very deserted, yet it never drove Neon insane.“Neon, you need to get out in civilization, a lot of ponies are worried about you…..including me”“I don't think me and society are ready accept each other,besides,  others have no need to worry about something that is none of their business, they acted like they never cared about my family before.”“thats not true” said Amber “we always cared, but ever since Celestia and luna disappeared, many are starting to panic, and top it all off, the cloud kingdom wanting to go to war with the unicorns and earth ponies is scaring a lot of us” “what about you Amber? you're a pegasus, and i'm a unicorn”“I know that, i'm worried too, i heard recruiters are here already, taking mares and colts and even fillies, i don't know what to do”Neon only smiled and hugged her “it will be alright, they won't get you, everything will go back to normal” But Neon had no idea what was going to happen, and was worried as much as her.“let’s just get to your house for now” the house was just around the corner, and the wind was starting to pick up.she smiled and they let each other go and started to walk again, when they got to the house they were greeted with open hooves, “Neon, i'm so glad to see you again, i remember when you was just tiny, i remember changing your diaper” Neon got really red, “ ahh, yeah good to see you too, hehe” what’s wrong with her? thought Neon. “well” said Amber's mother “shall we eat, cause i'm starving”her mother always loved to eat, but it seems she never gains any weight at all, her cutie mark was a bowl with a mixer, so that explains a lot.“yeah ok mom, they all sit at the table, and there was already a plate out for Neon, like if they knew he would say yeah.so Neon said Amber's mom, “how have you been holding up?” Oh me, i've been alright, i just haven't been to the store lately, i'm starting to run out. ‘well if you would like, we can all go to the store and pick up supplies, Neon remembered that there were recruiters around here, he did not want get them into danger, no that's o.k. i can do it myself.‘well if thats what you wish, but i need to get some cooking supplies, so we can make dessert later’, most of the time, Neon would try to figure out if her specialty was cooking or eating, Ambers mark was a heart on fire, never understood what her mark meant, he was not around when she got it, and for Neon, unlike everypony else, he was born with his cutie mark, a neon blue and green eye, thats how he got his name, So, what do you think the pegasus will do if they win asked Amber, “i don't want to think about it” said Neon “i just don't want any part of it” but Neon said Amber, what if we never see each other again?, ...or worse she said under her breath.Hush said Ambers mom, ‘thats not going to happen, the princesses will return and put a stop to all of this’ But mom…shh said Neon…..do you hear that….“what is it? asked Amber.Neon quickly jumped in front of them to block them, the front door exploded and a bunch of rubble flew towards them, two huge pegasus walked in, and stood at the sides of the door, and then a black colored pegasus walked in up to Neon, he was huge, wearing silver armor with red highlights, a unicorn eating with two pegasus? pathetic! he spat on the floor, and the other two guards chuckled, Neon was scared, but he didn't show it, he only had a blank stare, the guard  picked up Neon by the throat, Neon whimpered, what do you want with me? asked Neon.the guard laughed, I.want.war. he threw Neon against the wall. No!!! screamed Amber.“you actually care about this little pipsqueak?” well you're just as weak as the rest, he lifted a blade with his hoof, and swung down, but her mother slashed a knife and cut his hand, causing him to drop his blade to the floor, the guard screamed in pain, YOU BITCH!!!, he swung his hoof at her, but it stopped just before it could reach her, he looked over at Neon who was finally getting to his hooves, it was dark, but you could see the magic glowing on his horn and his cutie mark was glowing in the dark as well, “ i don’t like you hurting my friends” a kitchen knife came out of nowhere and struck to the guard in the chest, sending him into the other wall, he lay there not moving, the two other guards froze in fear of what just happened.They both lift their guns, Neons heart pounded hard, he grabbed Amber and her mother and pulled them behind the counter, the guards started firing, Neon jumped over the counter after them, “what do we do now, Amber screamed over the noise of the guns, Amber's mother lifted the latch under them, the crawl space she said,“good, you two get going” what are you talking about? said Amber, “were all going,”“ no said Neon, you go and find somewhere to hide, and i’ll come find you when it's over”“be safe said Amber's mother, she kissed him on the cheek, i don’t want to lose you like i did your mother and father, her eyes were sad” don't worry, i'll be fine said Neon. Amber started crawling down, she turned around and looked into his eyes “promise me you will come back, you have to promise me that”“I promise” said Neon, now go! she started going down, the trap door closed and he heard it lock from under, he turned around, and to his amusement, there was a glock under the counter, he grabbed it and remembered the military training his brother had taught, he checked the clip, fully loaded, and there was an extra mag. with it, stood up, he felt everything moving in slow motion around him, but he knew he was going at a faster speed, but his senses were sharp, he could feel the motion of the bullets going by him, he did not get hit, but the back of his leg was bleeding.He took a quick aim and pulled the trigger, he struck one of their guns, and ducked again, Neon smiled, he was confident,  he dove for the next wall for cover, he ran for the couch, the living room was huge, Amber's mother was rich, he mantled the couch and shouldered one guard who got knocked against a wall, he tackled the other, and stuck the barrel in his mouth, and started pulling the trigger, 1-2-3-4 not stopping, he heard it click, it was empty, he released the clip from the compartment and stuck in a new magazine, he cocked it, hearing the round pop into the chamber, he turned around, and a hoof went across his face, Neon fell to the floor, his vision was dazed, it cleared up, and he tried to stand, but he felt a hoof push down on his back, “you troubling little brat, now you shall die, you could have lived if you stayed with your friends, NOW you will neve…..his head exploded, and he fell to the ground, still twitching, Neon stood up, “you pegasus talk to much, you would have lived if you remembered i’m a unicorn, Neon smiled, and turned around at the silver armored guard, who was still alive, but very weak, he walked over to him, “why are you here? what are your orders? demanded Neon, “the guard only laughed and started coughing, do you really think i would tell a little brat like yourself? well i’m not going to beg you for my life, and i know i'm going to die anyways, war has finally broke out, our kind are finally going to cleanse the world of you, i’m heart broken to not see it”Neon hated him, but neon felt a bit sad too, even still this pony is being an ass, but he is powerless, Neons brother never killed a wounded pony, “And what if i let you live?”the guards smile went down “ well, if that were to happen,i would have no choice but to serve you, until i had paid back my debt, or die on the field”  “and why should i trust your word?” “for one, i never asked you to spare me, so dont think im grateful, and two if the leader found out a kid beat me, i would die anyways, so basicly, im fucked” Neon only smiled, his horn started to glow, and so did the guards wound, it started to heal, and it closed.The guard was a bit shocked “how did a bra..kid like you learn to focus so much power?”“I’m stronger than i look,” he smiled “i killed your men, and almost killed you didn’t i? Neon checked the other guards, and they had a few clips, he grabbed them, and reloaded his gun, “how do you possess so much skill?” “my brother...he was in the military” “what happened to him? Neon just handed him a rifle, “your chest will not have any feeling, but your arms should be alright, so now you can fight, don’t let me down.you never told me what happened to your brother, we may be enemies, but at least tell me, where your family is. Neon sighed, “they were murdered….by a pegasus, i was so little, i looked into my own brother eyes while they…..well, you wanna know the weirdest part….he never even blamed the pony who did it, ….THERE HE IS, ON HIS FUCKING DEATH BED, AND HE DIDN'T BLAME A SINGLE FUCKING PONY!!!.....Neon started to calm back down, And every day said Neon, every day, i wonder, why? why couldn't he find it in himself to blame or hate anypony?“I know how you feel said the guard” “how could YOU know exactly how I FEEL!? snapped Neon” “because my family was murdered as well,....me and my parents were walking from the theater when this guy came out of nowhere, and he attacked us….my mother was screaming, my father was fighting back, but two other ponies came around the corner…..I was sure they would help us,....but i was wrong…..when i looked at my father, he was on the ground, already unconscious, and they were still bashing his head in,....when they were done with him, they moved to my mother, they took turns raping her right in front of me,...I...I tried to stop them, I was small, and weak, but i knew I had to do something, I was about to hit one with a bottle…….do you know what the most ironic part of this story is…..she didn’t die by them….a cop showed up, he had his gun, but the crook was using her as a pony shield, the other two split from the scene, but not him, he did not care, the cop was scared and hesitated, my mother freed her mouth and told me to run, it startled the officer, and he pulled the trigger without aiming…. the bullet went threw her head…. only to hit the crook in the chest…..only the fucking chest!“so you say I don't know how you feel?....you couldn't be anymore wrong, cause i know exactly how you feel”Neon just sat there…..”so said Neon, you have a name?, he asked as he loaded his rifle.The guard smiled, ‘its breach….breach clear…. and i promise i will fight for you, cause you made me realise, this war will never end, so why not jump in head first?they both stood up and shook hooves, ‘Are you ready? asked Neon.The guard just chuckled, Neon walked over to the hole in the wall where the door use to be,....it was chaos, Neon stepped back, avoiding detection, ‘we can’t leave together without being seen said Neon.Breach just smiled, or can we he said as he lifted up a pair of cuffs.Neon gave a frown, I hate you he said.hey, its this or we both die said Breach,”FINE said Neon, give me the stupid things”Breach tossed them to Neon, and he slipped them on himself, “now what, asked Neon”I’m thinking said Breach, where did your friends say they were going?they didn’t! snapped Neon. Hush! whispered Breach, we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves, Breach lifted his rifle and nudged Neon forward “ Neon protested, What the hell do you think you're doing?I’m saving your life, they both walked out of the house, and all of a sudden the rest of the guards were staring.A huge pegasus landed in front of them, its big red white eyes looked deeply into Neon, This thing almost looked like a machine, Where is the rest of your squad asked the monster, This one killed them said Breach.Did he really have to say i did it said Neon in his mind, i know it was really me, but he couldn’t just say somepony else did it….then it hit Neon, shit thats right, they can't know about Amber.The monster just chuckled, your telling me this little pipsqueak killed two of the most skilled officers you have, well i guess you and your section are not cut out for this work.Maybe, or maybe they were not loyal and strong enough. The monster just brushed of the comment, what is your name? or should i just call you wimp? actually, that sounds better, that shall be your new name. “are you done?” Breach was getting a little annoyed of how the monster was acting.The monster just looked at Breach, “Yes, carry on with your task.”they finally started walking again, “ well we should find the end of the town, but first we need to find a dress-shop”“dress-shop? what the hell do we need a dress-shop for?” Neon was really confused, “Well I can't be seen escaping with you like this. ‘what about the unicorn Rarity? Maybe she could help us out.‘It’s worth a shot, o.k. than, let's go’They both walk to Rarity’s house after they get clear of all the chaos, it was some of the most horrifying things Neon had ever seen, he saw the owner of a bar get decapitated, an old mare burned to death, children were being executed on the spot, there was no mercy at all, Death was before us all, but nopony ever predicted it would come this far.
