Truth Comes Out

Lite was in his Airstream listening to Ozzy and taking a piss, "Lord, I've never had to tinkle so bad in all my life!" He said, just then there was a loud knock on his door, "Oh dammit, HOLD ON!" He said as he finished and zipped up his pants and flushed, Lite went to his do and opened it, "HellAHHH..." suddenly he was pulled out of his camper and thrown to the ground he looked up and saw Sunset and her friends all pissed off, "SUNSET!?, WHATS GOING ON WHAT DID I DO!?" He said trying to stand up.

"WHO ARE YOU!?" She yelled in demanded.

"WHAT!?" Lite said, suddenly a light blue aurora lifted Lite off the ground, it was right there he realized these were the girls that had Equestrian magic."Where did you get the Equestrian magic!?" he yelled.

"Where did you get yours!?" She yelled.

"I've had it!" Lite responded.

"Oh yeah, then what are you doing here with it, trying to defeat us and take over the school!?" She yelled.

"WHAT!? NO!" Lite yelled.

"Then why are you here!" She screamed.

"Cause I'm here to protect the portal between here and Equestria." He said.

Sunset was surprised at what he said, "What?" She asked calming down.

"I'm here to guard the portal in this world." He said.

"Guard?" Sunset asked.

"Yeah, Star Swirl the Bearded built that portal to explore a new realm and he chose me to come here and guard it." Lite said.

Sunset set Lite down gently, "You mean your from Equestria too?" She asked, Lite nodded. "I'm sorry about throwing you on the ground like that." She said.

"It's okay, you made a mistake, that quite alright." Lite smiled.

"Your the protector of the portal?" Fluttershy asked.

"Yeah, I've been here protecting it ever since the school was built." He said.

"Wait a minute, the school was built in the 1940's, how could you be so young if you been here for...over 80 years!" Dash said.

"Star Swirl gave me Immortality long ago." He said.

"Lite, you knew Star Swirl the Bearded?" Sunset asked.

Lite sighed, "My name isn't Lite Bolton, its Lightning Bolt."

"Wait, THE Lightning Bolt for Canterlot." She said surprised.

"The one and only." He smiled.

"Wow, ponies back in Equestria always talked about how great you were, they all thought you were dead or banished." Sunset said.

"Nope, been here all this time." Lite said.

"Why haven't you gone back to Equestria?" Sci-Twi asked.

"Well, lets go inside and talk about it in private." He said and they all went inside his camper and saw that it was kinda a mess, empty pizza boxes on the counter, clothes on the floor, unwashed dishes in the sink and the bed was not made.

"Whoa, this place is a mess." Dash said, Applejack hit her, "Ow!"

"Be nice." She whispered.

"It could use a women's touch." Rarity said trying to be nice.

"Yeah sorry, I really wasn't expecting company." He said trying to tidy up real quick, he sat in his chair, "So where do I start?"

"Where ever you like." Sunset said.

"Well," Lite began as they all listened, " it was about a few moon after Princess Celestia banished Nightmare Moon to the moon, I was born a Pegasus, I didn't know my parents other then they left me at a orphanage in Canterlot when I was only a foal, the people at the orphanage named me Rain Drop cause I was left there on a rainy day, I spent my first 11 years of my life there, I didn’t really make any friends there cause they came and went, till a nice baker that was delivering at the orphanage I lived in, I helped him unload his wagon whenever he came, he was so nice to me that he decided adopted me, he took me to live with him at his bakery, He always though of me as his son and I appreciated it cause it was nice to have a father figure, I started working as a delivery pony in his bakery, I was fast at it and it caused me to get my cutie mark of a delivery box, he even paid me about 4 bits a delivery and plus tips I made and saved up, he even had a piano in his shop, I played it really, really good and people would give me bits for me playing, at the age of 13 I started to get the hang of flying, and I was flying home one day and it started raining I stood on a gray rain cloud to catch my breath till out of know where I got electrocuted by the cloud,I passed out and when I awoke I was still on the same cloud but it had gone white, I went home and pretended like it didn't happen, I kept it a secret for a while until one day I was 15 a thunderstorm hit the city and I was outside closing his shop and a bolt of lightning hit me, it didn't hurt though but when I looked at the cloud I pointed up at it and said, "Stop it!" Then a bolt of lightning shot out of my hoof and hit the cloud."

"What!?" Dash gasped.

"Yeah I didn't know how it happened till another shot out of my hoof and another and another till people saw me I ran inside and told the baker what happened, he was shocked at what he saw me do, I nearly destroyed his bakery, I decided to pack up my belongings and my savings and leave cause I thought it was too dangerous for me to be like this.”

“He understood me and knew that my special power could be used for something greater, I never forgot him I always visited him every so often.”

“I went to Canterlot Castle cause I heard the rumors of a powerful wizard who probably could help."

"Star Swirl the Bearded?" Sunset asked,

Lite nodded, "Yep, he saw what I could do he had never seen a Pegasus with powers like that before and wanted to do some test, we did some electromagnetic test to see if I could conduct electricity, I did at a rate where I overpowered light bulbs and broke them, then he had me try and concentrate on how to use it safely, I relaxed myself and lifted my hoof up and concentrated on the power and it slowly formed till I shot a small bolt and it hit the bulb and it shined without breaking, Star Swirl was proud of me, we trained for many days, till one day a terrifying dragon flew through Canterlot and started to destroy the city."

"Good heavens a dragon!?" Rarity gasped.

"Yeah, Star Swirl tried to save the town by trying to put a freeze spell on him but he couldn't get close enough, used a shield spell to block him from fire breaths till a ball of fire broke his spell and knocked him to the ground, I ran to his aid and tried to help him, he screamed "LOOK OUT!" and a the dragon was just about to step on us when I held my hoof out and a big bolt of lightning hit him and it knocked him over toasted and dazed, everybody cheered for me saving Star Swirl and the town they a cheered "LIGHTNING BOLT!" cause they didn't know my real name, and my cutie mark changed to a bolt of lightning and that's how I got the name, Lightning Bolt."

"WOW, You took on a dragon!?" Dash cheered.

Lite nodded, "Yep."

"Please tell us more!" Sunset said anxiously.

"Well," Lite continued, "I was taken to the castle to meet the Princess and she gave me a metal for my bravery on that day, I was really famous in Canterlot afterwords I would go to places shake hooves and play the piano for my friends and when ever there was danger she would sent me out to defend the city, me and Star Swirl travel around a bit for his scientific purposes, and one day he discovered other realms in the universe and he built the portal to this world, when we went through it we were surprised at how the portal changed our bodies and how different this world was."

"So that's how the portal was built?" Applejack asked.

"Not really, when we got here we only came through a worm hole and we did have trouble getting back, when the school was first started being built the statue was the only thing that was complete, Star Swirl work on a spell to open the portal, but he had trouble with it we spend a whole moon in that world in order for it to reopen again."

"I thought the portal opens every 30 moons?" Sunset questioned.

"Wait how long is 30 moons?" Applejack asked.

"Well that's actually about a month, on the first full moon the portal opens and it stays open for about 3 days while the moon is still full, and we did it on the first full moon and we got back home, but the spell stayed cause of what the statue was made from concealed the magic we put on it."

"Wow, I thought 30 moons is like almost 2 years or something." Pinkie said.

"Nope." Lite said.

"So that why your here?" Fluttershy asked.

"Whats that?" Lite asked.

"The portal won't shut down and you came here to make sure nobody when in or out it?" She asked.

"Well... that's only part of it." Lite sighed.

"Why?" Sci-Twi asked.

"About two years after we built the portal was built and I was being a hero in Canterlot, me and Star Swirl were up in the mountains of Canterlot doing some weather testing, we were working with lightning rods and he had me use my power to see if it could reverse weather, well something went wrong and I accidentally opened a hole in the sky and a black hole came out,"

"A black hole?" Sci-Twi asked nervously.

"Yeah, I use a strong blot of lightning to reverse it and close it up, it worked but something came out of the hole."

"What?" Fluttershy whimpered hiding under a blanket.

"A dark shadow force named Phantom Shadows came out, it chased us down the mountain destroying everything in sight, we couldn't rick leading it to Canterlot cause it probably would harm the ponies so me and Star Swirl tried to sent it back into the hole where it came out of, Star Swirl used a spell to make a black hole to suck him back into it, I used a very strong bolt of lightning to hold him while Star Swirl opened the black hole, He started to feed on my power and he grew strong from it, I started to become weak and I couldn't hold him from much longer, Star Swirl took the lightning rod and held it to the lightning and used it to sent him back into the hole, Phantom Shadow's last words to us were "YOU"LL NEVER STOP ME! MY EVIL WILL FIND YOU!" and he disappeared, the portal wouldn't shut down it had become too powerful for Star Swirl, cause he had been electrocuted from the lightning and it made him so weak, he took my hoof wired his magic through me and with my magic and my power combined we shut the portal down together."

"WOW!" The girls said in unison.

"Keep going!" Dash said anxiously.

"When I brought Star Swirl back home he was so weak that he couldn't make himself better, I on the other had was just weak but I got better in time... but Star Swirl didn't, I became so worried and depressed that he wasn't getting better, then one day he was on his death bed and he told me to "Guard... the... portal." I asked "Why?" and he told me that he sent Phantom Shadows into a purgatory of realms that was connected to the mirror portal."

"Purgatory of realms?" Sunset asked.

"Yeah, it's like evil spells that have been banished way to a dark realm, that portal connects to many of those realms, and that made me worry that he would come after me and Star Swirl, he told me that if I was to protect the portal I would have to be immortal, he told me of a spell that would do that, he gave me a book and I casted the spell and the way it works is whenever I play music it makes me feel good and the spell glows around me and I stayed the same age ever since, its kinda like in that movie The Highlander, "There can be only ONE!" he smiled raising his finger.

"So why did you come here and protect this side?" Sunset asked.

"Well, soon after Star Swirl... passed on, I became worried about Phantom Shadows coming back and finding me, and if he did he would steal a lot of magic in Equestria and become too powerful for anypony or even Princess Celestia, and I decided to hide the mirror in a spot where it wouldn't ever be found, and I came here to protect the portal here and keep Equestria safe."

"And so you been here since then?" Rarity asked.

"Yep." Lite nodded.

"What did you do for the passed 80 years?" Fluttershy asked.

"Had several jobs, played guitar, partied, traveling and been to A LOT of music concerts."

"So that's why your so good on the guitar," Dash said, "You've been playing it for a long time."

Lite smiled and nodded, "I practice every day."

"Wow, your the coolest." Dash complemented.

"Thanks Dash," Lite smiled.

"So how come we never knew about you here?" Sunset asked.

"Well in 1996 I got tired of protecting the portal and nothing ever came through, I went on vacation for 20 years, bought this camper locked up my house and left town, went across the country and saw America, also went to Mexico and Canada, great countries,"

"Why'd you come back?" Applejack asked.

"Well..." He started after he went and got the journal of news clippings, "I think you girls know why." They all looked at the clippings of what's been happening at the school, "Which leave me to my questions to, where did you girls get Equestrian magic?"

"Well that was my fault," Sunset said disappointingly.

"Your fault?" Lite said.

"Well, I'm from Equestria too."

Lite was shocked at what she said to him, "How did you get here?"

"Well 3 years ago I was a unicorn and a student of Princess Celestia and I became so selfish that I earned for more, I wanted to be a Princess as well but she told me that I was too selfish of myself and so she showed my the mirror and made me come here and one day I heard about Twilight's crown and stole it and brought it here."

"Wait, what do you mean her crown?" Lite said pointing at Sci-Twi.

"No back in Equestria there is others that look like us, Equestrian counterparts."

"That's why the Principle looks like Princess Celestia, its a mirrored world between here and Equestria." Lite smiled as he put two and two together, he was unsure how the immortal Princess Celestia looked the same from 80 years ago "So... continue."

"Well Equestrian Twilight came through and tried to be princess of the fall formal and I was so jealous that she wanted to, I was princess for 3 years straight at this school and did a lot of terrible things to her and her friends that I became so selfish of it that her crown had magic in it and I put it on and I became a... magical demon." Sunset started to cry, the girls comforted her with hugs and forgiveness to her that made her feel better.

"What happened next?" Lite asked.

"Well Twilight got her and her friends together and the used the Elements of Harmony to stop me and save me form myself."

"THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY!?" Lite said in shock, "I thought Princess Celestia had it?"

"No," Sunset said and continued, "The Elements of Harmony was discovered by Equestrian Twilight and her friends, they all bare the elements within them, Applejack the element of Honesty, Fluttershy the element of Kindness, Pinkie Pie the element of Laughter, Rarity the element of Generosity, Rainbow Dash the element of Loyalty and Twilight Sparkle the element of Magic, and together it created the Magic of Friendship."

"Wow, that's amazing, what about your element Sunset whats yours?" Lite asked.

"I don't really know what my element is, but I know I'll find out soon." She smiled.

"What about these dragons in this clipping here, what came through?" Lite asked.

"Those were the Sirens," Sunset said, Lite lurched his head back, like he never heard about those before, "They where three beautiful but evil singers that used their magic to get people to do what ever they want, and they feed off of negative energy, Star Swirl banished them here long, long time ago and they discovered the magic at the school and they came here and made everyone battle each other in the battle of the bands, and they locked us up in a room and by accident we all argued with each other and that caused their negative Equestrian energy and they got their Equestrian powers back and started to take over, but with the help of Equestrian Twilight and the magical music that we used we drained their powers and broke their pendants and made them powerless."

"YEAH!" Dashed cheered, "We showed them, and when they tried to sing again, they sounded so bad that they were booed off stage and they ran off like whimps"

To Lite that felt like that was kind of rude, "What happened to them after words did they say their sorry or did you forgive them?"

"No, after that we never saw them again." Fluttershy said.

"Why would we forgive them for what they did?" Dash said rudely, "They deserved it."

Lite felt sorry for those poor girls. "Well, maybe the next time any of you see them you should probably at least talk to them, and make friends with them."

"Why?" Dash said.

"You did for Sunset, so why not them." Lite said, Lite was a forgive and forget kind of person, Rainbow Dash just went "PFFT" like she gave a fuck, "So Sunset what happened at the Friendship Games?"

"Well that where Twilight here came into the picture," Sunset continued, "Twilight went to Crystal Prep Academy, and she was investigating the magic that was going on at the school, when she came here of the day of the games she built a device that tracks magic and.."

"It absorbed it," Said Sci-Twi taking the lead, "I only wanted to learn about the magic, the device got out of hand after it started absorbing it, and during one of the events it opened up few holes in mid air and things came out like giant Venus fly traps and it got out of control." Twilight started to cry, the girls comforted her the same way as they did for Sunset.

Sunset took over, "When the final event came Twilight's head teacher Miss Crinch told her to unleash the magic, and... she did and the magic absorbed Twilight and it changed her into Midnight Sparkle, a evil side of Twilight and she used her evil magic to open up portals to Equestria she even blew the stallion off the top of the statue..."

"WHAAAAT!!!"

Lite jumped up and bursted out of the camper and ran to the front of the school, he ran towards the statue and jump on top of it and saw a small but big crack with a dark abyss at the top of it, "SON. OF. A. BITCH!!!" He gasped, the girls ran to the front where Lite was and saw him freaked out, "Twilight do you have any idea what you've done!?" He yelled.

Twilight was scared and hid behind Sunset, "What wrong!?" Sunset said in worry.

"The statue has a hole in it that's whats wrong!" Lite said as Sunset climbed up and saw it too.

"You know what this means?" Lite said looking at Sunset, she didn't have a clue, "It means now that when ever the moon is full magical energy that is concealed in the statue will escape here and run loose in this world."

Sunset gasped, "That explains the magic that hit the cave at Camp Everfree."

"WHAT!?" Lite gasped.

"Don't worry we took care of it." Said Sunset.

"How long has this been like this?" Lite asked.

"April." Said Sunset.

Lite let out a sigh of relief, "Okay, so it's not too bad, its only been four months, so that means only a little magic has escaped."

"What do we do?" Sunset asked.

"Well, the next full moon is in two weeks so we have to patch this over." Lite said.

"Well lets go to the hardware store and get some concrete." Applejack offered.

"That won't work," Lite said, "It has to be the same stuff the statue is made out of."

"I know!" Rainbow Dash jumped, "I've got the head of the statue we could ground it up and make it into a concrete to patch it."

It was perfect, "Brilliant Dash!" Lite cheered, "We could work on that this weekend, but right now I've got other affairs to take care of."

"Like what?" Sunset asked.

"Well I got to go to the bank and take care of my savings and get my safety deposit box and move back into my old house." Lite smiled.

Lite helped Sunset off the top of the statue, Lite put his hand on the portal, it felt solid, Lite always thought about going back to see how it was in Equestria, Lite looked at Twilight, she looked hurt, "Hey I'm sorry I yelled at you," He apologized, "It wasn't your fault, it was the magic that took over that did it."

“It’s alright, I’d be mad at myself too if I was more worried like you.” She said.

"Hey Lite," Dash said putting a hand on his shoulder, "Wanna get our axes and have a duel?"

"Maybe, but not now, I'm tired and I got to get something to eat, also my gear is still in the school and the doors are locked." Lite said.

"Well lets take you out to get some thing to eat." Applejack offered.

Lite accepted the offer and they all went a pizza place and ordered 3 pizza, each had different toppings, one was pepperoni, one was plain cheese, and the last one was veggie, Lite was eating the pepperoni and Sunset was surprised the he was eating meat, Lite was unsure of eating meat for about the first 10 years after being in the human world, his taste buds changed for him after eating a hamburger not knowing what it was made out of till he figured out, he read about the protein and vitamins meat had so and he ate meat, he would not eat to much of it to not get carried away, he would always eat a good quantity of vegetables as well to maintain a steady diet.

Lite told the girls about his travels and all the amazing stuff he saw as America grew over the years, and all the famous people he met, the girls like Lite including Sunset, even though she knew that Lite was immortal and from Equestria she probably wouldn't be able to love him like romantically if she grew old and he stayed young forever, she could only be just a close friend to him.

After dinner they took Lite back to his camper, the girls were unsure about his camper being parked in a school parking lot, Lite said it was only going to be one night till he could pick up his safety deposit box tomorrow, which had the keys to his house in it.

Lite said goodnight to the girls and went inside, he peeked out his window and watched Sunset walk away, Lite thought that she was beautiful, but he knew the same thing that Sunset was thinking of, Lite grabbed a CD of the rack and popped into the player and laid on his bed till he fell asleep.
