Chapter 4: The Bond Rebuilds

It has been almost a week after the two had gotten reunited. Their love reformed as they started to date again. Frost became his normal self again, with the help of Ditzy. They comforted each other when they needed it. Just like old times, Ditzy would occasionally be laughed at or made fun of because of her eyes. Ditzy paid no mind to their comments and moved on. Frost would make sure that she wasn't letting their words get to her. Ditzy eventually met a very kind mare who would look after Dinky, named Carrot Top. She watched over Dinky as they left for their date that they had planned for tonight. Frost had gone to the marked earlier that day to get a surprise for Ditzy. Now, they are trotting together under the beautiful sunset over Ponyville.

"I got a special place chosen tonight, Ditzy." Frost told her.

"Oh? Where?" She asked.

"Wait and see." Frost said, trying to keep it a surprise.

They arrived at their destination and Frost held his hooves up at the sign above the door. "Sugar Cube Corner" read the sign. Ditzy gasped at the sight of the shop. It had changed a little since she was gone. A bar had been added to the side for adult ponies, and Pinkie now ran the shop. Ditzy quickly entered the door and Pinkie instantly bounced over to her.

"Ditzy! I haven't seen you in sooooo long! I got worried and felt really sad, but now you're here! And I'm happy again!" Exclaimed the pink pony.

"Good to see you again, Pinkie." Ditzy tried to say through Pinkie's intense hug.

"Okay, back to sweets!" Pinkie said, bouncing back behind the counter. "What'll you have?"

"I'll have the apple cinnamon muffin and a chocolate milkshake." She said, almost drooling over the thought of eating the muffin she hadn't tasted in so long.

"And I'll have a cupcake and the same shake." Frost ordered.

"Okay, here you go! That will be 35 bits please!" Pinkie said, setting the tray of food on the counter.

Frost placed the bits on the counter and Pinkie scooped them up. Ditzy picked up the tray with her teeth and trotted towards their same seat. Ditzy tripped over one of her hooves and the tray went flying into the air. Frost instantly reacted and grabbed Ditzy and her muffin. He looked down into her eyes and heard the crashing of the two shakes as they hit the floor. He remembered that Ditzy had done the same thing on their first date 12 years ago. He looked down into her glowing gold eyes and she remembered the same thing. Instead of crying like she did before, Ditzy leaned in and kissed Frost. He leaned into her and kissed her back, almost dropping the muffin. They broke their kiss and smiled at each other. Frost helped Ditzy back up to her hooves and handed her the muffin. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and looked down at the drinks.

"Sorry." She apologized, looking at the shakes then back to Frost.

"No worries." He said, gazing into her eyes again.

Ditzy took a seat at the same booth and began to nibble on her muffin. Frost bought a large milkshake to split between him and Ditzy. He grabbed two straws and returned to Ditzy. She looked at the empty spot in front of him and looked back down at her muffin. Frost knew what she was about to do. She split her muffin in two pieces and slid one to Frost. He smiled and thanked her, taking a bite from the warm muffin. She giggled as they both took a sip from the milkshake that sat in between them on the table. They finished their drink and Frost began to flap his wings as they left the sweet shop.

"C'mon, follow me!" Frost said taking flight.

"Lead the way!" Ditzy said, leaping off the ground.

Frost lead Ditzy to the spot where he first kissed her. The large tree had really changed since they last saw it. Many memories were shared at that spot. The tree had grown large enough for the two fully grown ponies to sit in complete shade. They sat together and watched as the sun began to set down behind the mountains in the distance. Ditzy leaned her head on Frost and he nuzzled her.

"Hey Ditzy." Frost said softly.

"Hmm?" She hummed, looking up at him.

"I want you to know how much I love you. But there isn't really anyway I can begin to start. So, I think this should show you how much I love you..." Frost reached into his bags and Ditzy watched as he pulled out a small, dark blue box.

"Ditzy Doo, will you marry me?"

Frost opened the box and Ditzy face lit up. Tears streamed down her face as she held a hoof over her mouth. Frost smiled at her and felt his heart pounding out of his chest. Ditzy looked at the box and back up to Frost. Before Frost knew it, he ended up on his back in the dirt. He was being held on the ground, given a barrage of kisses from the mare. She sat up and held the box in her hooves, still crying tears of joy.

"Of course I'll marry you!" She exclaimed, hugging Frost tightly again.

Together, they laid in each other's embrace. Their bond that has been separated for 2 years, was finally reformed, and became something more. Soon they were to get married, and Dinky would become his daughter. Frost almost began to cry, like Ditzy was then. He held her tight and waited for the rest of their days to pass by together, being there for each other and for Dinky. Frost and Ditzy happily trotted back to Ponyville, to tell their friends and family about the great news.

The End...
