Starlight Glimmer get's her heart stolen by a human mage named Hoyt.

In an alternate version of Earth magic exists, but is only known by few. These few are called 'The Awakened.' The Awakened draw their power from an ancient temple called 'Robur mentis et Corporis' which mean's Strength of Mind and Body. Magic flows from an ancient stone there, and once every ten years, the previous mages, referred to as The Precursor's, use the magic flowing from the stone to guide them to the newest generation of mages. After the new generation finish their training at the secret school called Magicae, they do a ritual to become full fledged mages, but something goes wrong and Hoyt is brought to Equestria.
