Sunlight Solace

Nova Star stared out at the sky just waiting for a chance and opportunity to redeem herself, she was just waiting for a chance to show she could be in charge and change and be in power and control. But it wasn’t about her attitude or how she handled and dealt with other people, it was more about her thoughts and ideas and opinions. She was very good with power and control.
It was just that she had all these crazy ideas and theories about stuff and things that she just couldn’t prove were true, and she had tried to run off of them in her latest quest and mission when she thought that she detected magic as she and others called it now. And that was why she stared up at the sky, because she failed, she couldn’t prove she was right, and now everyone thought she was wrong, and she had failed too. And now she just wished for that chance and opportunity would come. But very soon enough it did now.
Suddenly the sky lit up with a bright rainbow even though it was night, and then she smiled as she slowly pulled out her cell phone to call her boss now.
“You should look out your window right now,” she said, “And please don’t argue, just do it, trust me, I think that you’ll like what you see there.”
And with that said her boss did so. “I see the rainbow, yes, but it could just be special effects instead, or a really crazy light show, and why did you call me at this time of night for exactly? And why ask me to look out a window?”
“I thought that you would believe it more if you saw it with your own eyes.”
“Well you were right, but trust me, we’ll investigate this, but if it turns out to be a dead end then I am going to have some very serious words with me.”
“Trust me sir, it won’t be,” she said smiling as she shut her cell phone off now.
And with that said she smiled as she continued to stare out at the sky now.
Very soon after the rainbow sky event they found out that it really was magic, and when they did they only
decided to naturally promote her to the division to studying and containing magic and making sure that it
didn’t hurt people either. And she started to assemble her team from the best people in the army, military, Navy Seals, Seal Teams, CSI, FBI, NSA, whatever. It didn’t matter what agency you were in, she could get to it if she wanted someone to come and join, but her only requirements were that they had to be ready and willing, after all, she wouldn’t force anyone to join against their own free will no matter what. And they did very well in studying and investigating magic having some of the best ‘experts’ on the subject material. But she always did want the people responsible for it, but she could never get to them. But luckily enough she finally figured out how she could after many years of failure now.
Because she failed to prevent three events of magic ever since the rainbow sky night, but now hopefully she could finally infiltrate the group now instead.
And that was because she had someone that was just perfect for the job.
Because her new project was to find out who they were, why they did what they do, and also how, and finally to decide if they posed and threat to them.
And she decided to call the whole entire thing Project Sunlight.
She didn’t know why, she just felt that it was the right name to call it.
And as for her very best agent, well she was taking this mission luckily enough, and she believed in magic,
power, and control, and more importantly was always focused on the mission no matter what happened to anyone on the team, including herself. Her only flaw was that she could be cold, cruel and brutally honest at times, but Nova didn’t mind that too much if she could keep it in check. But she wouldn’t be alone even though she could do it herself.
She would be followed by another agent just to make sure, but she would be working alone for the most part instead, and that’s just the way she liked it.
And so that was why she called in her best agent for Mission Solace as she decided to call it for some reason. “Enter,” she said as she heard the knock.
The girl entered the very dark dim room that obscured her face now.
“What’s the target?” she said not even bothering to sit down now.
“Them,” she said handing her a very thin file folder, “We just know their names, where they live, where they
eat and shop and go and also who they will help and associate with, but not why or how they can do and use their magic.”
“What do you want me to do? Study them? Kill them?” she said.
“No, this isn’t a kill mission, this isn’t the military you know.”
“I know, I was just curious if they were currently a threat now.”
“Well they aren’t, you’re going to study and observe them from the inside, because you would fit in
perfectly, I mean see this girl here?” she said pointing out to a particular girl. “Yes, I do, but why does she
matter at all now?”
“She’s the group leader, she’s the one you’re going to replace, but this one,” she said pointing to
Twilight, “We want you to get very close to this one now.”
“Why?” she said, “Is she like the secondary leader or something like that?”
“Yeah, something like that, but we think that she can explain magic, she is, or rather was a scientist until
she decided to join their group instead.”
“Well then, I’m not opposed to getting close to a girl,” she said smiling now.
“The mission is called Solace, and please don’t ask me why.”
“You know that I never do,” she said smiling right now then.
“Yeah right, anyhow you start next Monday, okay?”
“Alright, fine, I was just about to ask that, but how do I get in exactly?”
“Well there’s a dance this Saturday, and we think that we can cause enough chaos and confusion where
you can take her place very easily enough.”
“Alright fine, I can work with that, but where’s the dance exactly?”
“Their High School very surprisingly enough,” Nova said very calmly now then.
“Really? They’re still in high school? How young are they exactly?”
“Very young, which could make them very potentially dangerous enemies or very powerful allies depending
upon how we play our cards, so please don’t screw this up, you have to succeed, you have to do it for the
agency.”
“You know that I always do, but thank you for this mission, Nova.”
And with that said she started to leave before Nova stopped her very suddenly now. “Really?” she said very
surprised now, “No questions about the girls?”
“Trust me, I would rather not know anything that’s not included in this file,” she said, “Besides, I’m sure any
logic or reason can be replaced with magic instead, but I think the less that I know the less that I’ll be confused, and the less that I’m confused the more I can focus and not waste time asking silly stupid
questions, but then again, this is a question mission so just maybe I should know the reason why, but then
again, maybe not too much either.”
“Good girl, now then you are dismissed to your regular normal duties and studying that file folder until you
have memorized it until further notice.”
“Yes, I will,” she said as she left not even bother to call her captain or leader or commander instead, but then again, she could be very rude at certain times.
And with that Nova went back to work doing her ‘normal’ and ‘ordinary’ job.
But as for the strange mysterious girl, she walked down the hallway as she stared at a picture of herself in a crowd of six other strange mysterious and very powerful humans. And from their positions and posture
she could guess that these were very close friends, and that would work out very well for her.
“Well then, Sunset Shimmer, I guess that you’re my mark,” she said as she stared at the picture of a human who looked exactly like her.
