I lay shaking in the hospital bed, my eyes began to roll.

My hooves were trembling, heart racing, for where I was about to go.

This party of mine, this life of mine, has surely been great,

but the end, it... the end of this, is something I truly hate.

My life has had smiles, my life has had love,

my life has had happines, sent from above.

The life of an earth pony consists of mainly work,

but if you deny happiness then darkness will lurk.

Happiness is a feeling, and it is an element,

an element that I bear, with love being fair.

My life party started cold, it was dark, sad, and scary,

but before long I found that you shouldn't be so wary.

In my early years I saw a sweet rainbow, with colour and light to rise me up and fill me with might.

That colour, I found, was filled with magic, a life without it is truly tragic.

That rock farm I lived, that rock farm I thrived,

and 'twas that rainbow that filled my party drive.

I moved to Ponyville, a small quiet town,

and turned turned their frowns upside down.

They love me and I love them, I'd throw them parties now and again.

I grew from then in a bakery, sugarcube corner it was called,

where the Cakes let me stay, and I would work,

they taught me the art of baking,

cakes I especially enjoyed making.

I met a purple unicorn mare,

her magical ability was strong and rare.

At the summer sun celebration is where we became friends,

from there our friendship took twists and turns.

We went on lots of adventures together,

smiling and laughing through all sorts of weather.

By her side was a dragon called Spike,

he was cute and friendly like.

Applejack is my friend too,

an earth pony mare with cereal hair.

She was super strong,

She was super honest,

The entire town trusted her before too long.

Rainbow dash is my athletic friend,

she was with me right until the end.

Loyalty she possesses, soaring high like a dove,

a softie she is, who has lots of love.

Rarity is a unicorn, she makes dresses, designs and decor.

She's really dramatic, posh and pretty,

Opal is the name of her kitty.

Fluttershy is the timid one, quiet at the back.

Animals she loves,

their health she will stack.

Princess Celestia is our ruler here,

she's sweet and kind and full of cheer.

She's quite the troll, but always a doll,

she helps us thrive in harmony.

Her sister Luna is a reformed villain,

she teaches from experience and enters dreams,

though she used to be angry a lot it seems.

Cadence is our princess too,

love that she surely will do.

Her husband Shining Armour helped her make it through.

Twilight's brother, Shining Armour is,

he's big and silly with his brain in a fizz.

Gummy is my pet, an alligator at that,

I fed him lots of cupcakes, so he's a little fat.

We've had lots of parties together,

I thought I'd be with him forever.

And as I lay down in the hospital bed,

tears I am guaranteed to shed.

Nurse Redheart is the one looking after me,

I could tell from the start what a great mare she'd be.

As I think back to the start of the party,

I find my mind regretting it this early.

The words I didn't say, the things I didn't do,

And... I never told them "I love you".

There were many guests in my party,

and I'm really glad that they came.

My party, without them, would have been more than lame.

Discord, too, is a friend of mine,

Fluttershy was the one to help him shine.

All reality, he can bend,

there's nothing he wouldn't do for a friend

and his friend it was who's heart he did mend.

Pinkamena Diane Pie, that is my name.

To tell you that, I have no shame.

Do parties have games or is the party itself the game?

The game of life can play us for fools,

dancing a string around us, and making silly rules.

As if a puppeteer is looking down at us,

laughing and grinning and making a fuss.

Or maybe it's not like that...

Maybe we're in a glass ball,

upon a table as to not fall.

A gypsy pony looking down,

I wouldn't know if it's a smile or a frown.

Maybe we imagine it, maybe we're not real,

so then why's life such a big deal?

The party lasts a limited time,

we only have so long before the bells of death chime.

So that my dear, is why we must not live in fear.

Grab life by the head, live it out well from morning to bed.

If we ask why, we won't know.

If we ask how, knowledge will grow.

"Thank you now, end of the show!"

A smile crept upon my lips,

I started to go numb from my hooves to my hips.

I thanked them again, though they would not hear it,

My heart would stop, and I would die,

slowly, mind, body, bit by bit.

Everything suddenly turns in to a flash,

my memories, all together they have been mashed,

this ache in my body I cannot stop,

dead, soon, my heartbeat will drop.

I hear my friends cry,

they aren't ready to say goodbye.

"Oh my..."

She is no longer shy.

They're huddled together, screaming 'why?'

To tell you I'm not sad would be nothing but a lie,

even the element of laughter needs to cry.

But friends don't say goodbye.

"Hello again, Pinkie Pie"

She's dead and gone, there are no more

The group of friends is now only four.

Loyal to the end, loyal to the core.

Friendship is magic, that's for sure.
