End Of The Party
Flying High Together (Bonus Chapter - Funeral)
Previous ChapterThe day of your funeral, and the mood is somber,
just what you two are doing is what I begin to ponder,
where is it that your souls have chosen to wander?
The wind hugs around me as I stand here looking down,
the tomb of a fallen princess, no longer with her crown.
Even in death, she refuses to frown.
I take back calling you a clown,
without your presence, it's sadness in which I drown.
You know we love you,
and we know you love us,
but the time has come for you to leave on the party bus.
Now, we were friends for many years,
your absence has left in hearts many tears...
Dear Pinkamena Diane Pie,
for the words that I will say here I must not be shy,
but please Pinkie, forgive me if I cry.
We knew you wouldn't want your funeral to be sad,
no matter what you did you made every one glad.
And for that reason, none of us can be mad.
You were the cheerful one,
abundant jokes and warm smile,
I hope you're enjoying heaven, hun,
we'll all be together again in a while.
Rain drops on the ground have started to fall,
two alicorn mares stand by you tall.
The princesses will miss you lots too,
after all, we're you're party crew,
and without you,
...I don't know what I'd do.
You were a strange one, mind,
but you were always still kind.
Optimistic, you were,
and I'm standing here today to express how much I truly care.
Which is the weakest thing of all my heart can ponder?
The sun, a little cloud can pall with darkness yonder?
Your Pinkie sense was something truly unique,
as Rarity would put it, you were 'magnifique.'
It scared the living hay barrels out of me,
but there to comfort me, you'd always be.
Discord will miss you too, you know,
and I'll always remember when you two would put on a show.
I'll miss those days, everyone will,
our moods are at an all time low and this is really a buzz kill.
If I could have one wish in this entire big world of ours,
it would be that we could have back our two sweet stars.
What are you two doing up there? Chasing cars and drinking from cloud bars?
(Well, you two do love your cider.)
Your life was cut short, taken when it wasn't your time,
but Rainbow Dash, you didn't have to go, I promise it'd be fine.
You were so skilled, fast and all of that,
leaving us was trotting over us like we were just a door mat.
Loyalty was your element, that we all know.
Rainbow, it's not fair for you to go, you know?
Your bravery here has outshone all the rest,
you belong in the hall of fame with the total best.
The iron pony,
the loyal pony,
true to your word and not at all phony.
Now you sleep in the ground, skeletal and bony.
The two of you were our best friends,
and you decided that together will be how your story ends.
Locked in our hearts forever you two are to stay,
I'm sorry if my words start to delay,
but for the happiness of yous I'll continue to pray.
And they save and scrape and ponder,
While the rest go out and squander.
Your friends are like a second family, and leaving us has left agony,
that will spread Equestria-wide, dammingly with tears in the moonlight flashingly bright,
to live happily without you two will take a lot of might.
Pinkie you were our sun in the darkness of life,
to honour you among the wind is a song from fife.
I've thought things over now, tice and thrice,
most of us are speechless, quiet like church mice.
You made us laugh, you made us cry,
you were taken too soon, I'm not ready to say bye.
But to know you was truly an honour, you were my Pinkie Pie.
A playful young mare, with pink bouncy hair,
Pinkie, you really ain't fair.
I can't deal with the pain, I'm not so much of a fighter,
I've just been squeezing your photos tighter.
But I suppose your chest will now be lighter,
the weight of the word lifted off of your mind,
it's much easier, you'll come to find.
Just know you two, that you'll always be on my mind.
________
We stood by each other, not knowing what to say,
it's been really hard for us too, this day, AJ.
But I'd like to say a few words if I may,
and then after that in a few years, together again we can play.
It's my job to bring smiles, to bring laughter and fun,
but the opposite is what I have now done.
Today I soar with Rainbow, in the sky like a dove,
we will always send down our neverending love.
Though you were only one of the guests in my party,
I'm ever so happy that you came,
you are special to me, one of the main reasons I didn't find it lame.
The game of life can play us for fools,
dancing a string around us, and making silly rules.
We're in a glass ball,
on a table to not fall.
A gypsy pony is looking down,
they may hold a smile, and they may hold a frown.
The party lasts a limited time,
we only have so long before the bells of death chime.
Today was just the end of mine,
your party will have an extended life line.
A sad smile is still plastered on my lips,
I have no feeling in my hooves or my hips.
Before this right now, everything was but a flash,
my life's memories were put together and mashed,
splashing in my memory and vision in an instant, befrore I crashed.
For the ache in my body, there was no way it would stop.
Silent now, my heartbeat has dropped.
I may not be able to touch you,
but I'll still be there,
watching over you all, never hesitating to care.
You know Apple Jack, you're a really smart mare,
so tell me, can you feel my stare?
When I pass by you with a gentle breeze,
your only reaction is for your body to freeze,
or else you go shaky in both of your knees.
___
It may now seem like I'm just loyal to Pink,
but if you think carefully I can give you a nudge and a wink.
I promise I haven't left any of you,
I ended it for the well I can do.
You might not believe me, but I can prove it's true.
I am stuck between two worlds, life and death,
I remained as a spirit after I took my final breath.
I will watch over you and protect you, for as long as you all shall live,
I hope my actions are something you can forgive.
I'm happy with Pinkie, loyal to her,
we laugh and share smiles, to show that we care.
I know you can't see, but we're watching you down there.
It's sad really, and we miss you all,
our time together has been a ball,
but some stay standing and others fall.
We're dead and gone, there are no more
Our group of friends has turned to four.
I'm loyal to the end, and loyal to the core.
I know that friendship is magic, now that's for sure.
