Going Home

Previous Chapter

I didn't send the message. I came up with a better idea. "Claymore? Are there any holidays coming up in Equestria?"

"There is one in two days my lord."

"What is it?"

"The Day of the Honored Fallen."

"Celestia accually implemented that? It was just a idea I had to remember the ones lost in battle."

"She did it to remember them and you my Prince. That way she would always remember what happened."

"Hold up Fallen Star. We will return then."

"Going home then are we J?"

"Yes, I have decided that I need to return to my family. That means full armour of course, by the way where is mine at?"

"On display at the Royal Museum. Your sword is there too."

"It needs to be retrieved then. That can wait till the day of. We also need the exact time the ceremony takes place. If we pull this off right, it's going to blow some minds" I said with a grin.

Day of the Fallen 3rd pov

Right before the ceremony was to start, a lone guardspony came marching down the aisle between those gathered. Unlike other guards this one had on full armour. The ponys armour was blue, grey and silver in color. There was no question to which unit he belonged to. Only the legendary Sky Guards was allowed to have those colors. The crowd was in awe of the spectical.

When the guard reaches the dias that held the gathered royalty, he lowered his head in deference. He straightened up and presented a letter to Princess Luna. She took the letter, opened it and a look of confusion crossed her beautiful features.

"What does your master mean with this? Of course I still want him at my side. No, that is wrong. We should be at each other's side. I can no longer enjoy life with out him."

When her reply was heard, the sound of marching hooves could be made out. In a cadence no other guard unit could hope to match came the rest of the Sky Guards. As they marched in the members would line up along the aisle. When Captain Claymore presented himself at the front they turned in synchronization and faced the center of the aisle.

"Captain, what is the meaning of this" asked Princess Celestia.

"You will see lass."

As the minutes passed, some of the ponies was starting to get antsy. Five minutes later Claymore got the signal he was waiting for.

In a loud and clear voice the Captain began to speak. "Presenting his royal highness, husband to the Princess of the Night Luna, Prince J Lynn Voigt."

I walked out to stunned silence. It was understandable of course. No one thought they would ever see me again. As I stood there in my armour I took in the scene. Luna and Celestia looked like a breeze could blow them over. Cadence though had a smirk on her muzzle. When I started walking towards my wife the spell finally broke. She stood up and forgetting all royal decorum, made a b-line towards me.

I will say this. It still hurts, even wearing full armour, being tackled by a alicorn at full gallop.

"You came back to me."

"I had to angel. No matter how bitter I was, I couldn't stay angry with you forever."

"I am so sorry for what happened. I will say that everyday till the end of time if I must. Just, don't ever leave me." Tears was falling from her beautiful eyes and I couldn't help but tear up some myself.

"As long as you want me in your life, I will never leave your side Luna."

"Come. Equestria has been without its Prince for far too long."

"Luna?"

"Yes my love?"

"Why do you hide your true self?" The look of pain that I watched come over her was heartbreaking. "Do not hide who you are from me or yourself. I am with you once again. There isn't anything to fear. Do not dwell on the past." I placed both of my hand on her cheeks and wiped away her tears. "A thousand years past. Show them the true Princess of the Night."

Closing her eyes in concentration, her body started changing. As I watched she grew to Tia's height , her fur turned to a rich ebony black, but the biggest change was her mane and tail. They lost the ethereal quality, but to me was more beautiful. Now they was a deep midnight blue with silver highlights. The crowd was stunned, I admit I was too. I had forgotten how beautiful she was.

"Thank you, my Angel." Turning to the crowd I presented my wife. "Your Princess is as she should be. Never fear her for what her appearance is."
