Undermare: Your Underground Adventure!
A Somewhat New Home
Previous ChapterTorishy’s home was simple and sweet. The walls and flooring were made from wood, and every room was decorated with photos, flowers or anything else a normal home might have. You enjoyed looking around the house, still holding onto the owner’s hoof.
“Come this way, my child,” you hear her say. “I have something for you.”
You follow her down to the end of a long hallway bed she turns towards a wooden door. “This is your new room. I hope you enjoy it. Try and get some rest while in there. I have to finish something up.”
She let go of your hand and patted your head before walking away. You open the door, revealing a bright red room. You were placed in every corner, except for the one the had a large bed. You let out a small yawn and decide to follow what Torishy said by getting into the bed and closing your eyes.
You began to open your eyes, looking at the room in front of you. Only, there was something new based by the bed. It appeared to be a slice of pie, placed on a small plate. You got out of bed and picked up the treat, taking in it's smell to see what kind it is. It smelled of cinnamon, but also smelled of apples. You were very tempted to eat the pie, but you held back your hunger.
You walk out of your room, still holding the pie in your hands. You walked down the hallway and headed for the living room. You saw Torishy sitting in a large recliner, holding a book in her hooves. She noticed you from the corner of her eye, and put the book down.
“Oh, did you get some rest,” she asked. “I see you got the slice of pie I made for you. Do you like it?”
She then noticed you didn't take a bite of of it. “Oh, I see. Would you like me wrap it up for you? You could have it later when we go back the ruins.”
You nod your head, answering her question. She begins to get up and head to the kitchen with the pie. A few seconds later, she comes back with what appeared to be some sort of backpack.
“Here, you can use this to carry things you find in the ruins. I wrapped up the cinnamon apple pie and put it in here.”
She placed the bag on your back. As she did, you saw that she looked a bit worried.
“Now, if you need me, I shall be downstairs doing something. I don't want you down there, alright?”
Before you could answer, she had already got up and headed downstairs into the basement. You didn't know what do or where to go. You thought about following her to the basement, but it didn't feel right. You trusted Torishy. You wanted to listen to her. Still, you at least had to know what she was doing down there, so you got up and headed for the stairs.
The steps creaked as you took one step, and then another. As you reached the bottom step, you saw a long hallway in front of you, purple bricks made up the walls and floor. You immediately felt your heart drop as you slowly walk through it.
As you reach the end of the hallway, you find a giant purple door, similar to the one you saw when you first entered the ruins. You were about to go through it, before you heard her voice.
“So, you didn't listen to me warning,” you turn around to see Torishy, a somewhat angry look on her face. “You want to leave. You want to head back to her home up above. Well, we all do, everyone and everything living in despair.”
She takes a few steps closer to you. “I didn't think it would have to come down to this, but there's only one for you to leave.”
The light in the room darkened as she took one final step closer to you. “Prove yourself to me.”
The familiar group of “battle boxes” showed up in front of her, telling you to be ready. You knew you couldn't kill Torishy, she was just too kind. So, you just had to give you mercy. But that might be a problem, as she looked pretty dependent on keeping you here in the ruins. However, you had something that she didn't. Something that you felt in your heart.
You were filled with
DETERMINATION!
