Chrysalis was enraged at Flimsy’s return without any additional information on Celestia and Luna. “What is WRONG with you? I told you to gather information on Celestia and Luna… and now you are here?”
“I’m… I’m sorry. But I found something else…” he said, his head held low.
“And what else could you have found… that I would be interested in?” she questioned.
“Strange creatures… like dragons… but they can change like us…. I think...” he said timidly.
“YOU THINK!” the queen shouted… she wanted solid information on her enemies, assumptions WOULD NOT do.
“I don’t know what they actually are… but I never say them turn into any pony else, they were always themselves but a different species,” the small changeling stepped back, he did not like when his queen was angry. “I am not sure who’s side they are on, we might be able to convince them to… help us?”
Chrysalis laid down and pondered this, she hated to admit it but some allies could be just what she needed. “Very well, lead me to one of them.”
Flimsy went pail… lead her? To… one of those things? “My… my queen… would that be wise?”
She glared at him, if looks could kill he would have died were he stood. “Just do it…”
~Canterlot~
Isaiah was pleased that Twilight offered him a place with her, but he could not leave yet. The young man was doing his best to help rebuild the damage he caused when he arrived. His expression seemed to be filled with regret, every pony knew he was sorry. The princesses noticed that in his saddened state light literally dimmed around him giving the human a dark aura-like appearance. “Ya might want ta take a break, you are workin’ youself raw. Go on, get, come back in a few hours… or better yet tomorrow morning.” a pony offered. Isaiah just nodded and wandered off.
He walked along the outskirts of the town hoping that his regret would fade, but it never did. It did not help that his nature was to feel the regret of all those before him to wield the sword he used. That curse was worse than becoming a dragon when angry or scared. He wiped sweat from his brow and sat down. He did not understand… his life was a mess… always has been and always will be it seemed.
He remembered how he lost his family when his home town was destroyed back on his world. He remembered when he was first cursed with the dragon form. The young man even remembered when his sword was bound to his soul… sealing away vast amounts of regret from its previous thousand or so wielders within his heart. He could not take it! He felt their pain, their sorrow… he wanted it to stop. But Isaiah knew it would never go away. He would not even think about finding love… he would not age and she would grow old and die. Stardust was probably his only friend that he would not outlive.
“Speaking of Stardust… should I mention he is not really an ali-watzit?” Isaiah muttered to himself. He shook his head, they did not need to know what the creature was. If anyone knew they would likely try to kill the both of them. And the last thing Isaiah wanted was to be their enemy. He liked them; Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinky Pie, Apple Jack, Rarity… they seemed nice. As soon as he finished helping fix the damaged he caused they were even going to let him stay in a place called the ‘Castle of Friendship’. Weird name for Twilight’s home, but at least she was nice enough to offer. The Lightseeker had never been shown kindness before, it was not something he was used to in his world. But here he was… in a world full of 4-legged ponies that all stood just barely above his waste, and suddenly he was shown kindness.
“Excuse me?” a green pegasus mare with blue hair approached him. She was followed by a jet black pegasus that looked like a guard.
“uh… ya? What’s up?” he asked as he stared at the ponies.
The green mare stared at him, “Were you the one who turned into a dragon?” she asked.
Isaiah frowned, “Yes… why?”
“Show me…” she said, with an almost snakelike hiss.
Isaiah raised an eyebrow and shifted into his dragon form. The large red dragon with its star-covered wings towered over the pony. Oddly she showed no fear, only fascination. Isaiah grinned, his razor-sharp teeth showing through his lips. A brown diamond sparkled on his forehead. “Satisfied?” he asked playfully, turning around and bringing his blue tail-spike inches from her face. There was a snapping sound and the tail-blade snapped open into a fully functional claw, making the pegasus flinch. He lowered the claw to the ground and picked up a rock, tossing it in the air and catching it again with the tail-claw. The 4 blades that made up its fingers were attacked to a round socket that could rotate continuously. The dragon gave it a little spin, it sparked, and the rock crumbled in a flash of light. The rotation stopped, the claw turned back into a spike, and seemed firm again… as if the change never happened.
The green pegasus smiled wickedly, “Would you like to go out with me tonight? For dinner?” she turned to the side with a slightly seductive movement.
Isaiah’s eyes went wide… was he just asked out? Forget the no love thing he mentioned earlier… he might as well try a date! “S… Sh… sure!”
“Perfect… sunset… meet me at the restaurant over there!” she said pointing to one with her wings. Isaiah, who was now in his human form again… somehow still clothed, just nodded. “See you later!” the girl pony winked as she got ready to fly off, “oh ya, call me Spearmint.”
Spearmint landed on a hill far from Canterlot and laughed, green flames exploded around her and she transformed into Chrysalis. “Perfect! Not only can I seduce him to my side… I can also get a good meal of love while I am at it!”
The black pegasus reverted to Flimsy, “Y… yes… you can your highness.”
~Canterlot Castle~
“But Celestia, are you sure we can trust them?” Luna pleaded.
Her sister nodded, “I know I can trust Stardust, but Isaiah… I will have to see. I asked Stardust about him and he said that the human has reckless tendencies. I am willing to let him stay free if no pony gets hurt.”
“But why do you even trust that alicorn stallion?” Luna questioned, “He showed up only a few hours ago! Do you like him Tia? Is that why you don’t question what his purpose is? What his motives are?”
Celestia sighed and looked out over Canterlot from her balcony, “Its… its not like that…”
“Then why don’t you even question him? Why do you always smile and giggle just because he is around?”
The white alicorn did not answer.
~Ponyville~
“Alright every pony!” Twilight began. “Our guest will arrive in my castle in a day or two and I want to be sure his room is ready in such a way he can feel welcome! And what better way for his new friends to each leave something a little bit of their touch on his new bed room?”
Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity nodded… Pinkie Pie bounced with hyper-active energy.
“One question…” asked Starlight Glimmer, “Who is this pony again? You know… that will be staying in the castle with you, me, and spike?”
“Ya… I was wondering the same thing,” a little purple dragon commented.
“Oh, not a pony at all, he is a human.”
Spikes jaw dropped… "h... human... here?"
“What is that?” asked Starlight… confusion covering her face.
