It was the last half day before summer vacation at Canterlot High, and the humane seven were having an early dismissal party, which was hosted by the usual party girl herself named Pinkie Pie. They had a blast and spent quality time together.
When they were about to pack their things, they heard the intercom saying for only them to report to the gym for an important meeting. They came inside the gym and saw the seven chairs on the gym floor and Principal Celestia standing on the stage.
"There you are," Principal Celestia said, "Each of you have a seat please."
They came to the chairs and did so.
"Now, the reason why I called you girls here is that due to many of the marching band members are about to graduate this year," she said as she then came down from the stage and turned to each of the girls, "Fluttershy and Rarity, you two will be our color-guards, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, you two will be playing the clarinets, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie, you three will be playing the brass instruments."
"Which kinds?" Pinkie asked.
"You'll be playing the trombone," said Principal Celestia, "Rainbow will be playing the trumpet, and Applejack will be playing the sousaphone."
"That ain't no surprise," said Applejack.
"Well you are pretty much physically strong," said Sunset.
"And you're the anchor of the Rainbooms," added Rainbow, "Just by playing your bass!"
"Yeah, like she said," agreed Pinkie with a smile, "I can imagine seeing and hearing you play that sousaphone right now!" Then she pretended to play the sousaphone and imitated the sound. "Oompah oompah oompah oompah!" she said as she then marched in one place.
"Okay Pinkie, that's enough," said Principal Celestia with a giggle, "Anyway, we haven't come up with our new show this year yet. So any ideas?"
"Will it have to do with nature?" asked Fluttershy.
"Or circus themed?" asked Pinkie.
"Or maybe fantasy related?" asked Sunset.
"How about something that's science fictional themed?" asked Sci-Twi.
"Or royalty?" asked Rarity.
"Western?" asked Applejack.
"Maybe our school spirit?" asked Rainbow, "That would be cool and awesome!"
"I ain't sure about that, sugarcube," said Applejack, "Usually, most high schools don't do shows that have ta do with their school spirits."
"Well we could be the first," said Rainbow.
"This high school doesn't do school spirit shows," said Principal Celestia, "But we'll try to add some various styles to it."
"Maybe with all of the suggestions combined together?" asked Sunset.
"That's a great compromise, Sunset!" said Principal Celestia, "But we'll have to only place three or four of them together because of the music you five will be playing soon. Sorry girls."
The seven girls were disappointed but they knew she had a good point.
"You girls stay here in the gym and make decisions while I go get Vice Principal Luna," said Principal Celestia as she already went to the gym door and left.
