Round 2: Las Pegasus

The sky was a mix of red and orange as Twilight and Speedy waited for the next round to start. Thunder and lightning came from the clouds above Las Pegasus as them and eight others waited with anticipation to start fighting. Soon each of the racers car radio's came live with Celestio’s voice coming through.

“Welcome to the second round contestants. This round will focus on the speed and power of your vehicles. I have posted twelve checkpoints throughout the course and it is required you pass through seven minimum. Also to keep it interesting, we have the loyal followers of some of our popular drivers willing to risk their lives for this sport.”

Soon afterwards three large amounts of vehicles flooded into the streets with each driver wearing a clown mask, doll mask, or a skull mask to resemble what faction they are a part of. The starting horn then blared and the contestants entered the city to start racing.

All drivers were quickly starting to notice completing the task of checkpoints due to the added drivers was more complicated than needed so they focused more on killing the drivers to thin out the competition. Speedy drove with ease through the carnage hoping to complete this challenge with barely any problems.

Around five checkpoints in a blue and pink formula one race car drove up behind Speedy's car and started shooting at them. The driver was a blue green pegasus with a orange mane wearing a bloody Wonderbolts suit.

“Looks like Lightning Dust wants this win.” Speedy said “Ever since her forced removal from the Wonderbolts she's been in a blood rage ever since and killed half the group including Spitfire and Soarin.”

“Looks like she takes winning seriously” Twilight said looking back at her. Then from an alleyway a yellow Checkered Marriott taxicab hit Lightning Dust making her lose control. Twilight saw that the driver looked like a undead earth stallion with a unicorn filly holding a remote control.

“Yellow Jacket” Speedy said letting the taxi pass him “Doctor Whooves and his daughter Dinky. She made a controller for him cause he got shot once and died. I'm good friends with her mo-...SHIT!!” he swerved quickly to avoid being hit by Dollface and her truck the Juggernaut, which caused him to crash into a store.

Yellow Jacket spun around and started firing at Juggernaut but to no avail as Dollface sped up and forced the taxi off the road into a building totalling the car. Speedy saw Dinky fiddle with the broken controller the quickly running away from the wreck as a rocket from Lightning Dust blew it up in flames.

Speedy backed out of the store and drove as fast as he could towards Dinky. “We got one chance. When I say ‘three’ open your door and grab Dinky.” Speedy said to Twilight as he gripped the emergency brake.

Dinky ran as fast as her hooves could go while bullets from Lightning Dust's car flew over her. She turned and saw her car and Speedy's car coming towards her and tried running faster. Not looking back she heard a explosion and tires screeching closer to her.

Speedy fired a rocket slowing down the race car as he sped towards Dinky. He gripped the brake harder and started to count. “One…..”

He slowed down a little to time it right

“Two…..”

He put his hoof on the clutch to help with the brake

“Three!”

He pulled the brake locking the rear wheels sending the car into a slide then turned the wheel so the car spun behind Dinky. Twilight the opened the door and leaned out grabbing her and pulling her inside. Speedy then spun the car again back the way it was and kept driving.

Dinky started to hyperventilate and cry as she lost her father while Twilight tried to calm her down. Speedy saw Lightning Dust in front of him and sped up quickly using the cars nitro. He rammed into the back of her car and fired bullets into the back destroying the engine while a few went through into Lightning Dust.

She slumped over the wheel dead as the car careened out of control then was shattered into pieces by Dollface’s Juggernaut semi truck. Then the horn blared again signaling the end of the round. The radio then started back up with the DJ talking again.

“A very impressive round this time as we added the different factions to the race. Racer coming in with a amazing save to Yellow Jackets passenger and Dollface finishing off both cars with Twister unfortunately ending her blood lust with bullets to the back and her car destroyed.

“Celestio would like to congratulate the remaining six drivers for competing in this round and that the next round takes place in Ponyville in a couple days. Good luck drivers and kick some ass!” the radio then cut to static.

Later that day Derpy Hooves walked through the Las Pegasus hospital quickly and terrified. She thought her daughter was either dead or severely injured and started to wonder where she went wrong. Derpy used to be a tournament competitor until a round costed her sight problems and made her cross eyed. It was then she decided to stop and start a family until Dinky wanted to do what she used to do.

Speedy was waiting for Derpy and quickly walked up to her and spoke. “She's okay. Just suffered some small cuts and bruises and some shock. She's in that hospital room” he said pointing to a nearby room. Derpy walked in to see Twilight sleeping on a couch while Dinky was watching cartoons on TV.

Derpy teared up and ran to her daughter embracing her in a big hug. Speedy tapped Twilight awake and signalled her for them to leave. Both left the hospital and drove out of Las Pegasus and set their destination to Ponyville.

Celestio slammed her hooves onto her desk in anger. Cadence sat in a adjacent chair holding back tears with red hoof sized marks on her face starting to turn purple. “This has gone too far!” Celestio shouted “They need to be stopped now! I guess I'll have to do this myself then. Leave…...NOW!” Celestio shouted at Cadence, who left in a sobbing mess.

Shortly afterwards the office doors opened and Sweet Treat stepped in with some of her faction members. “Ah Sweet Treat “ Celestio greeted “glad you could come. I won't spend most of your time so I'll make this quick as possible.”

“I need you and your gunners to stop Racer and Twilight before the next round. I don't care how but just do it and bring her here immediately afterwards. I left you one of Dollface’s Juggernauts full with weapons for you to use as pleased. If you complete this task I will reward you greatly.”

Sweet Treat smiled evilly under her mask and left the office with her group behind her. Celestio sat back in her chair and looked out at her balcony and saw the figure again standing away. The figure then said something and vanished with a lightning flash as the words repeated in Celestio’s head.

“You did this……..you demon fromTartarus…….”

Sorry this chapter is a little late but I've been busy. Next chapter will most likely be a clop chapter and maybe a little backstory to another character in the story
