The hunt for love

I slowly walked through the brush of bushes while listening for anything close. 'Starting to get hungry and thirsty.' I stopped and looked around for something usefull. 'There has to be a water source here somewhere, there's to much life here if there wasn't' I put my hand to my ear and listened. 'Where are you, you stupid water' I suddenly heard the sound of runing water. 'Yes, found you you bastard!' I quickly ran towards the sound, only to find a river in a clearing. "THANK CELESTIA!" I ran towards the water and quickly took a drink of the water. I then splashed the water onto my face and looked around, only to come face to face with a manticore. "SHIT!" I quickly jumped back as a claw slashed where I was. It roared in the air and charged me. I quickly sidestepped, but it slashed my side when it passes. I bent down, in pain. "Fuck this shit!" I threw off my backpack and put my sniper on top of it, then pulled out my m16 and aimed it at the manticore. "Bad day to fucking mess with me, cat." It charged at me again, but I barrel rolled away from it. "Eat bullets!" I shot at it and watched as it got hit in the stomach. I smirked when it fell, but it quickly went into a frown when it got back up. "OH COME ON!" It ran in front of me and I barrel rolled to the side, but it stopped and hit me with its paw. I flew into the air and hit a tree. "Damn it, that hurt." I slowly got up only to be met with a claw that barely scratched my cheek. I backed away and put a hand on my cheek to find blood. "Thats it, no more mister nice guy!" I quickly pulled up my gun and pulled the trigger and watched as the Manticore ran to the side. I followed it with the barrel of my gun and watched as the bullets hit the ground behind it. "STAND STILL!" I increased my turning speed and watched as the bullets hit his legs and it fell. "YES!" I slowly walked up to it. "What now!" I pointed the gun at his heart. "Goodbye." I pulled the trigger only to be met with a click. "DAMN IT!" The manticore quickly swipped me away and ran away into the forest. I slowly got up and looked around to find the manticore, when I didn't find one, I sighed and walked to my stuff next to the river. I slowly replaced the emptly clip and set the gun down on the ground next to the backpack. I slowly walked to the river and looked at my reflection. "Thats gonna hurt for a while if I don't find any medicine." I looked at my face to find three cuts on my cheek. "Not that bad, just some cuts." I splash some water on my face and sigh as my face starts to sting. "And its always the small cuts that hurt like hell" I look up into the sky only to find darkness, and I sigh. "Day one and I haven't even made it to the badlands, might as well make camp and a fire" I searched around and got a couple of twigs and broken branches, and made a fire close to the river. "I need my rest if I'm going to save applejack." I layed down next to the fire and slowly fell asleep.

                       MEANWHILE IN CANTERLOT

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna had just finished reading the letter sent by twilight. "Thou is not wise to go out there and face the changelings by himself" "Luna, he did have a point, I would have sent an army to go get applejack." "Still, thou is still unskilled for the task ahead of him." "Actually Luna, yes he is, he is the perfect person to send for the job here." "Why is that sister?" "He has a past that he has not told us about, one he thought that we shouldn't know, one that he thought we would hate him for if he told us." "And what is that sister?" "That he has been in a situation like this before." "What does thou mean." "You remember him talking about his father to applejack about his father, saying that he died in battle and he found out through a letter?" "Yes." "Lets just say that that wasn't how he found out his father died."
