Time and again

"Do we HAVE to get this dressed up?" "Yes, we're meeting royalty, and though I act brash most of the time, believe it or not, I do appreciate what impression I leave." "Ugh, fine, but I'm not wearing that bowtie."

Celestia was having a fine morning, sipping her tea and preparing for the day. She was slightly apprehensive because of the letter she had received the previous night. She had gotten it while talking to Luna about her day, and they were both quite curious as to what it entailed. Once they read it, Celestia promptly replied saying she would be delighted to meet these 'Humans' and discuss their future in Equestria.

Though the part about them knowing about everything did make it quite interesting. Nontheless, she was prepared to face them and greet them with all the warmth of the sun, albeit, maybe not quite that much warmth. She was just about to call for more tea, when a paper airplane flew in from the window and landed in front of her throne. Her two guards were also curious as to why someone would send the princess a message via folded paper, but before they could examine it, it was enveloped in a golden aura.

Celestia unfolded the paper and found a note saying, 'May we enter? (oh and you might dismiss your guards if you don't want them to have a heart attack)' She thought this rather odd, but nonetheless complied. She wasn't very concerned about her safety, considering she harnessed the power of the sun.

Once she dismissed the two guards, a odd sound filled the room.

'Whrrrrrrr, Whrrrrrr, whrrrrrrr'

Startled, she stood up and watched in awe as a blue box appeared from thin air. She wouldn't usually be so shocked, as she was used to teleportation, but this box gave off no magical signature. Suddenly, the door swung open and two.... strange creatures walked out.

"Good morning your majesty!" Stated an elated David, who was decked out in a full black tux with black bowtie, cufflinks, and shining shoes to boot. He elbowed the slightly uncomfortable looking Chris next to him, who also gave a reply of, "Oh, yes hello princess."

Princess Celestia quickly regained her composure and greeted the two bipeds. "Yes, hello! And welcome to Equestria, I am-" "Princess Celestia!" Replied both humans. "We know ALL about you!" Said David. "Y'know, that kinda came off as creepy."

"Yes, I read your letter, well, let us skip the formalities then and get to the point. Why exactly are you here? I mean, I know WHY You're here in Equestria, but why are you here in my palace? You could have stayed in ponyville and contacted me from there, why come all the way to Canterlot?" Asked Celetia in a quizzical manner.

"Yeah, why are we here? I was totally up for staying in Ponyville..." Said Chris as he gazed around the palace, taking in the beautiful sights and trying to loosen his tie that no matter how hard he tried, always remained too tight.

"Because, this way, we can announce to Equestria our presence instead of ponies meeting us randomly and freaking out. And I would like to get to know the royalty better. You and Luna always struck me as ponies who are bored of all the groveling and butt kissing nobles. Plus, Twilight needs some time to cool off, she probably would have tied us up on some board and examined us or something."

~Meanwhile in Ponyville~

"SPIKE! Where did you put the leather straps and plywood?" "Why do you need those?" "I need to be PREPARED!"

~Back in Canterlot~

"Brrrrr~, I just got a chill, did you get a chill?" "Yeah definitely got a chill there."

"AHEM, well, You two are more than welcome to stay here, I've already informed the staff of the situation. I'm sorry that Luna wasn't here to meet you two, but I'm sure she'll be along once she wakes up. Allow me to give you a tour of your rooms."

"Gee, thanks Princess," Celestia interrupted him, "Please, call me Celestia, Chris." "Okay then. Tell me Celestia, don't you have a day court or something to attend to?" Celestia chuckled at his statement. "Well, sort of. I'm not constantly needed at the court, only for the more pressing matters. Most of what I do consists of having meetings, signing papers, and raising the sun. I have more free time than you would expect."

"Oh, well then, ok... Whatever floats your boat. Lead the way M'lady."

The two followed the Princess for a short while till they came to their rooms. The rooms were stunningly built and seemed fit for, well, royalty. Carvings of the sun and moon covered most every surface, and each room had a gigantic bathroom attached with a tub the size of a swimming pool.

"So boys, what do you think?" She asked, giggling at, well Chris' awed expression. She didn't know quite what to make of David's.

"It's beautiful! Thank you Princess!" Said Chris, still awestruck at the beauty.

"THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH!" Said David.

"What rent? You two are staying here free of charge, so there's no rent to be payed." Stated Celestia

"Oh well in that case.... Eh, I guess these'll do. I call this one!" He yelled as he flung himself onto the bed. Chris simply facepalmed as he turned to the princess. "Sorry about his behavior, he's a little.... Brash."

"Oh think nothing of it, it's rather refreshing! He reminds me of one colt I used to know..." She stated as her eyes glassed over in the memory of old times. She was, however, snapped out of her revelry by David shouting across the room.

"HEY! WHAT TIME DOES LUNA WAKE UP?" She thought for a moment, before replying, "In about Seven hours, why?"

"I've got a surprise for her..."

A/N

Ok! So, some things I would like to say here. First off, about updates. My life is crazy, and though my average time for a 1000 word chapter is about 15 minutes, I have a very busy schedule. Also the fact that my dad hates this site and doesn't like me getting on doesn't help. I actually only released this chapter because I had a slight bout of insomnia. So as for updates, hopefully no longer than two weeks at the most, but you can expect anything in between that and instantaneous. Second off, yes, this is a slight self insert. David is molded after me slightly. All the skills he has, and the (real life) things he has done, I have done. I am sort of a jack of all trades kinda guy, and I know how to do almost everything. he just doesn't have the same name, cause that's silly. And thirdly, this is a rather short chapter, and hopefully the next series of chapters will be longer. I'm just kind of in the process of setting the scape, and getting it all ready so I can release the madness that is my imagination.
