The Day of The party

Twilight awoke to the sound of loud knocking coming from the castle front doors. The Purple alicorn did her best to ignore the knocking so early in the morning, she even hid under the pillows and blankets. But unfortunately the sound only got louder, causing the princess to reluctantly sit up from her soft cosy bed. Twilight yawned as she stretched out her hooves and wings, before get out of bed putting on all four slippers to protect her from the cold castle floors.

Twilight trotted down the hall ways heading down to the castles front doors only to be stopped by a very sleepy Baby Dragon leaving his bedroom. "Who is that Twilight? And why is she here so early?" Spike asks rubbing his eye before yawning for the tenth time this morning making Twilight yawn soon after.

"I don't know and I intend to find out." Twilight answers rubbing her brothers head. The alicorn Princess continued towards the front doors with Spike following close behind.

"Who ever it is better have a good reason for knocking so early!" Twilight shouted as she opened the door to see no one the there. "What the. no ones there?" The purple mare had never felt so confused.

"So who was knocking Twi?" The Drake asks, just as confused as his sister.

"I don't know Spike." Twilight closed the door, turning around to face. "But who ever-

Suddenly from nowhere Pinkie appeared with the biggest smile on her face. "Morning Twilight!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Twilight and Spike screamed out in unison.

"I got you good Twi!" The party pony fell onto her back laughing uncontrollably.

"ITS NOT FUNNY PINKIE!" The purple Princess shouted as she put her wing on her heart trying to calm down.

"It was a little be." Spike admitted with a slight smirk before shutting u completely from his sister's angry glare.

The pink mare got up off of the floor dry her eyes from happy tears "What are you doing here Pinkie?" Twilight asks clearly not amused.

"Well I need still need to bake celestia's birthday cake and make the salads for the party. so I was wondering instead of baking it at sugarcube corner and risk dropping it on the way here, I could just use your kitchen if that's okay."

"Sure Pinkie that'll be fine just after Spike's made me breakfast." Twilight smiles.

Spike headed to the kitchen with pinkie bouncing behind him "So could I help you make the cake?"

"Nah don't worry your scaly head about I've got all the help I need. Isn't that right gummy." Just as pinkie said that the green lizard popped his head out of pinkies pink poufy tail.

"If you say so." Spike answered not convinced that gummy would be that helpful.

Two hours later

Vinyl awoke to the sound of her alarm blaring some obnoxiously loud dubstep music. The white unicorn leaned over seeing her clock read 9:30 am before hitting the top it turning off the blaring music. Vinyl fell back onto her bed and thought about today. "Ugh I hope today goes well, I just need this to go well and hopefully this is the fast track to me making a come back. But what if the princess doesn't like it what if I do something wrong and I screw it up... Maybe I shouldn't do this... NO! I need to do this, I need to do it for Octavia, for Pinkie and for the Princess. but most of all I need to this for my self!" After the pep talk to her self, vinyl got up out of bed and made her way to the bathroom before heading down stairs to start the day.

Vinyl trotted into the kitchen finding her best friend cooking pancakes. "Good morning Dj Pon3." Octavia greeted with a slight smirk.

This made the white Unicorn snicker slightly. "Morning Tavi."

"So are you nervous?" Octavia asks while flipping pancakes onto a plate.

Hearing the question Vinyl gave an overconfident reply. "Nervous? pah, I could do this with my eyes closed while just using my hooves."

The gray earth Pony had finished stacking the pancakes leading to her handing them over to the white unicorn while giving her an unconvinced look. "Fine. It maybe possible that im just a tiny bit nervous, slightly." The Dj answers before face planting into the pan cakes, devouring them.

"Firstly, cant you use cutlery like a civilised pony? Or at least use your magic?" Octavia asks disgusted by the sight of her uncouth way of eating.

"Fine." Vinyl picked up a napkin to clean her mouth before picking up a whole pancake with her magic and shoving it into her mouth. "Better?" The Unicorn asks with food still in her mouth.

"Sure." Octavia replied dryly. "anyway, and secondly you don't need to be nervous this is your talent. Are you happy with your song choice?"

"Yes."

"Do you enjoy Dj-ing"

"Yes."

the grey earth pony smiled warmly. "Then you have nothing to be afraid of. Just go out there tonight, be your self and have fun."

Vinyl rolled her eyes at her friends persistence. "I know tavi and I will."

Octavia didn't catch on to her friends annoyance. "Good. Once you finished breakfast, why don't you get in good practice for tonight."

"Yes Mum." The DJ replied in a child like manner.

Octavia stared at Vinyl bluntly shaking her head. "Im just trying to help Vinyl... I want this to go well for you so you don't end up going back to berry punch she's not a good influence on you.

the white unicorn sighed sadly before answering back "Look I get it, and im grateful for you getting me the venue, but I need to do this on my own. I don't need you telling me what I need to do, I will make it off of what I decide to do, not what you tell me to do."

"Your right and im sorry I didn't mean to be so pushy, im just trying to help." Octavia looked down at the ground sadly.

"I know you were and I love ya for it. Your an amazing friend and I wouldn't of be able to do this with out your help. But I have to do the rest by self with you supporting from the side line." Vinyl put her hoof under Octavia's chin making her look up at her smiling warmly before bring her into a warm embrace.

"Thanks Vinyl your pretty awesome friend too, that is when your not making a mess for me to clean up." That caused both pair of friends to laugh. But suddenly something that vinyl had said clicked in her mind making her pull away from the hug. "How will I be able to support you from the side lines im not invited to the party?"

"Well, no that isn't strictly true." The DJ smirked at her friend.

Octavia was puzzled by this. "What do you mean?"

"You see everypony on the guess list gets to bring a plus one and im bringing you. Surprise!" Vinyl smiled.

"Thank you Vinyl! This is the best thing any pony could of done for me." Octavia hugged her friend once more squeezing tightly.

"Its the least I could do since you got me this gig." Vinyl smiled patting her friend on the back.

But once again another thought came across the grey earth ponies mind making her pull away once more. "I got find a dress!" Octavia blurted out in fear.

"Calm down, why don't you go to Rarity's while I practice for tonight. that way you get to hear my music for the first time at the party and I can blow you all away at the same time." Vinyl suggested before finishing the last of her pancakes.

"That's actually not a bad idea." Octavia replied smiling brightly.

"Hey! don't say it like its a surprise. I do have the odd good idea every now and then." The white unicorn said in mock anger. Both of them burst into laughter at the situation.

Back at the Castle of Friendship

After hours and hours of baking Pinkie had finally finished Celestia's birthday cake and took a step back to admire her work feeling really proud of her self. In front of her stood a 2ft chocolate fudge cake covered white vanilla frosting, decorated with tiny fondant versions of Celestia's cutie mark. Each tier of the cake had frosting round the edge in same colours as celestia's hair and a top of the cake stoop fondant versions the Princess sisters.

It wasn't long until Twilight and Spike walked into the kitchen to see how Pinkie was doing, but instead mesmerised by the giant cake in front of them. It took the princess while but she looked away from the cake to look at her friend "This Cake is amazing Pinkie! you've really out done your self this time."

Spike agreed with Twilight "Yeah this is so impressive, great Job Pinkie Pie."

"Thanks! You think the princess will like it?" Pinkie asks hopeful.

"Are you kidding, she'll love it!" Twilight smiled making the baker feel more confident.

"Aw thanks Twi." Pinkie bounced over to the purple Alicorn rubbing the top of her head. "Now im gonna set up the hall."

"Its all ready for you." Twilight said as she fixed her mane back to normal while the baby dragon laughed.

"Your the best Twilight." The party pony made her way over to the hall, bouncing all the way there. And true to her friends word the hall was set up with chairs and table ready for pinkie to start decorating.

The pink pony brought her pink curly tail round and began to search through it like a saddle bag. She pulled out a plank of wood, a painting, a car from earth, a plumbus before throwing them all away just as she finds what she needed her party cannon. She aimed her canon at each table and fired shooting out pink and blue table cloth, plates, drinking glasses, cutlery and napkins in the shape of celestia's cutie mark. Pinkie loaded up her cannon once more but this time she was aiming at the entire room before firing for the last time. Out shoot balloon's, confetti, banners and massive banner that read, Happy Birthday Celestia!

"Looking good Pinkie, looking good." The party pony commended her self.

Twilight trotted into the hall carrying a bowl of punch, she stopped seeing that the decorations were done, it filled her with happiness and Pride that her friend was going to give her old mentor the best party Equestria. Pinkie looked round to see her friend was standing in the hall way. "Hiya Twi, let me get that for ya" she smiled placing the bowl punch one of the larger tables before return back to Twilight"so what do think?"

"What do I think? Well to quote a blue Pegasus, it looks AWESOME! Your gonna throw an awesome party I just know it!" Twilight admitted.

Pinkie let out a big sigh of relief. "Thanks Twilight, where's Spike?"

"He's gone out to he's date for tonight!" Twilight rolled her eyes, she knew for that he was head over to Rarity

"Aww that's cute, but now we have to go get dressed ready for this PARTY!" Pinkie announced with so much enthusiasm

"Yeah your right lets go." The purple alicorn led the way out of the hall way with The party pony following closely behind with a massive smile planted on her face.

An hour and half later.

Ponies started to arrive with their plus one's. Rainbow was the first to arrive with her plus one Dumbbell, followed by Fluttershy and her Plus one Bulk Biceps. The purple Alicorn Princess and The pink Party Pony trotted down the stairs to meet their friends, Twilight wore an elegant formal dress along with her own tiara. Pinkie wore bright and colourful dress and when light shined on it sparkled like a disco ball.

"Rainbow, Fluttershy! Its good to see you!" Both Twilight and Pinkie took turns hugging each Pegasus.

"Thanks for inviting us." Fluttershy thanked

"Don't thank me Thank luna she's the one who invited you." Pinkie smiled.

Dumbbell spoke up. "Well thanks for letting us come."

"Yeah! Thanks!" Bulk agreed.

"Well I knew we all had Coltfriends now and we couldn't let anypony not bring them silly. So I came up with plus ones." Pinkie smiled bouncing in one place.

"Why don't you go into the hall There's a nice bowl of punch waiting inside, snacks will be brought out when every pony else has arrived." Twilight explained, leading to their Pegasi friends trotting into the hall with their Coltfriends.

It wasn't long until Vinyl and Octavia had arrived, Dj Pon3 was wearing her signature sunglasses and was carrying her Music equipment with her magic. "Hey, we're not too late are we?" the white Unicorn asks worried.

"Nah chill out, Only couple of guest's have arrived so far." Pinkie smiled and Gave Vinyl a playful wink making the mare calm down enough to catch her breath.

The DJ smiled but then gave a serious look. "I just wanted to say thank you Pinkie for this opportunity, you don't know how much this means to me."

Twilight gave a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"Well Ive-" Vinyl was about to explain until Pinkie interrupted her.

"Vinyl had lost her job since her manger had said she was old news, which lead her down a path of drinking and partying with berry Punch. Which made Octavia very worried so she took it apon her self to find her friend a venue, that ended up find her self to me. Octavia was lucky enough to find out that I needed a DJ for my party. so she when back and to Vinyl all about the venue which led up today." Pinkie took a deep breath catching her breath back.

Octavia and Vinyl stood there stunned with a shocked looks on their face's. It took a minute until Octavia spoke up. "How did you know?"

The Pink Pony Shrugged. "A hunch."

"But how?" The DJ asks still confused.

Twilight put hoof up. "Just drop It vinyl. if me and my friends cant understand how she does thing's, I doubt you will."

Vinyl open and closed her mouth about ask something about pinkie again but chose against it and instead asks something else. "So is everything ready for me to set up in there."

"Yesss a roo its all ready for ya, good luck I know you'll be great!" Pinkie smiled.

Just as Vinyl and Octavia entered the main hall, Rarity and her date Big Mac arrived along with Applejack and her Coltfriend Soarin. "Twilight and Pinking darling's its so good to see you all."

Twilight was shocked to See Rarity with big mac and not spike, she thought for sure that Spike's secret mare friend would of been Rarity. "Like wise Rarity its been too long."

"You can say that again Sugarcube. we've all been so busy with work that we haven't had time for each other." Applejack agreed smiling.

"So, Rarity how did you and Big mac became a couple?" Twilight asks feeling curious.

"Well to cut a long story short. one night I was on way back to ponyville from checking my store in Manehattan, and the train pulled up at ponyville station and I got off to walk home back to my boutique. but in the middle of town I was corned by some hooligans who want my money. but by luck who came by, it was Macintosh and he saved me from those ruffians and brought me back to safety and from there our love bloomed." Rarity sighed happily making Big Mac go a shade darker.

Twilight smiled at the story "Well Im happy for you Rarity and you Big Mac."

"Thank you darling." Rarity smiled brightly.

"So does anyone know where Spike is?" Twilight asks worried.

"Sorry Twi, cant tell ya our lips are sealed we promised." Applejack smirked "And that note were gonna go on head." Rarity and Applejack headed on into the main hall with Pinkie waving them on.

"Have fun!" Pinkie shouted making sure they heard.

The Alicorn Princess frowned worried about spike she turned to Pinkie. "What do you think she meant by that."

But Before Pinkie could answer Spike entered the castle with his date Applebloom along with Scootaloo and her Coltfriend rumble, and Sweetie Bell and her Mare friend Sliver Spoon.

"Hi Twilight." Spike greeted sheepishly.

"Spike, Why didn't you tell me you were dating Applebloom?" The purple Princess asks with excitement clear in her voice.

"Well, I want to surprise you." The young drake smiled at his sister.

"Well colour me surprised." Twilight smiled back.

Sweetie Bell Took this moment to clear her throat before speaking up. "Thank you for Inviting us Miss Pie."

"Oh you don't have to thank me sillies, now why don't you go on in there's some tasty fruit punch wait for ya" The Party pony replies.

Once the crusaders and their dates had left Twilight looked to her friend happily. "Im so Glad He's chosen Applebloom and dropped the hole Rarity fad."

The pink Mare bounce in one place looking back at her friend. "Im Glad that everyone is happy." Pinkie beamed.

Twilight sighed happily "Well that's everypony gonna come in Pinkie?"

The pink Party Pony looked at Twilight confused "But our Coltfriends haven't arrived?"

The Purple Mare looked back at her friend sadly " I don't have a Coltfriend."

"Why?"

"Im an alicorn remember I don't die... Ill place all the cakes and treats on the tables." And with that Twilight left leaving Pinkie waiting for Cheese Sandwich to appear.

Once all of the guests had arrived they waited until Spike barfed up a letter from Princess Luna letting everypony know that Celestia and her was on their way, causing Twilight to turn out the lights and wait for Celestia to arrive.

Talking could be heard from outside the hall. "So what kind Trouble Is Twilight in?"

"We don't know. All we got in her letter was come quickly thou were in the hall?"

The door began to open letting in the light from the hallway. "Twilight are you okay?"

Twilight turned the lights on leading to every one shouting "SURPRISE!" Making Celestia face lit with glee.

"Oh my, Idk Know what to say Thank you this all looks so amazing. Who set this Up?" Celestia asks smiling as bright the sun.

"I did Sister I headed to the best party planner there was. The element of laughter miss Pinkie Pie." At the mention of her name the Party Pony came bouncing up.

"Thank you for all of your work, this all looks amazing. I mean look at that cake its fantastic. This all means so much." The princess spoke in soft motherly tone.

"It was my pleasure and if you don't mind." Pinkie nodded at The White Alicorn Princess asking to lean in closer so she could whisper, to which the princess complied. "It would be my honour to get this party started."

Celestia chuckled at the pink pony, "I don't mind at all."

Pinkie saluted before quickly turning around to face DJ Pon3 "DJ lets get this party started!" Vinyl nodded took one look at Octavia smiling face and the fear all washed away. She placed a vinyl on the turn table and let the music Play filling the room. "Coming everypony lets hit the dance floor!" The party mare cheered.

Everypony grabbed hold of their dates and headed to the centre of the room and started dancing to the music. Twilight stood at side of the room watch her mentor dance with her sister. "Well done Pinkie. You planed the best party!"

Five years later.

The sun is shining high into the sky, a slight crisp breeze flowed through the air making the day just perfect. Octavia sat outside sugarcube corner waiting for a Iced Chocolate Frappe. As she waited for her drink Octavia sat and read the news paper and to her delight Vinyl was on the front headline.

Dead DJ comes back to life with her hit new album: silver lining. her tours are a hit success around equestria and I cant wait to see what's next for DJ Pon3.

Soon Mrs Cake came out of Sugar Cube Corner placing the Iced Frappe on the table for Octavia "Here you dearie."

"Thank You Mrs Cake. So how's Pinkie doing?" Octavia asks curious.

Mrs Cake perked up at the mention Pinkie. "She Doing great dearie. Pinkie's be become the number one party planer around Equestria. Well, her and her husband Cheese Sandwich. They're setting up parties all around Equestria, They couldn't be happier."

"Good, im glad." Mrs Cake left to go back to work. "Well here's to you both I wish the pair of you lots of luck." Octavia took a sip of her iced frappe toasting Vinyl's and Pinkie's success.

So I know this isn't how people was expecting this story to go like this but in the end I wasn't having as much fun as I did with my last stories but I didn't want to leave it incomplete so here it is completed. At the moment im just trying to find out what stories I like to write. so im sorry if the story didn't go as you were expecting im just finding my ground as a writer.
