Author's Note

Well, despite all the tail play of the story, there were a few things I just had a hard time fitting into headcanon.

1.) Could Fluttershy have really used her buckball skills to precisely throw the salt on Chrysalis's tail with the fate of Equestria riding on it? Whatever excuse I made up, in reality she'd be way too nervous and mess it up.

2.) If Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy delivered the finishing blow after a long an intense battle, you'd think they'd get as much recognition as Starlight

3.) Just the whole salt on the tail thing, I know it's an urban legend but still

So, if that's too goofy for you, here's an alternate version, and my new headcanon. (And I think she'll not appear in the Season 7 finale) It could have been its own story too, coz it's over a thousand words

Chrysalis Tastes the Rainbow

"There is no revenge you could ever conceive of that will come close to what I will exact upon you one day, Starlight Glimmer!"

Queen Chrysalis jumped off the cliff and flew away. After putting some distance between her and the many ponies and changelings that outnumbered her, not to mention Discord, she stopped to rest, and think of a revenge plan.

The Mane 6, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie, Discord, the princesses (including Flurry Heart), Shining Armor, and Spike were having a party at Starlight Glimmer's town, and the Mane 6 heard about Starlight's quest to save them from Queen Chrysalis while Discord and Trixie were racing on flying pigs.

After the story was finished, Twilight said "Should we worry about Chrysalis?"

"She lost her army!" said Rainbow Dash. "She can't do anything to us now."

"But she swore absolute revenge on Starlight," said Twilight.

"And she said there was no revenge I could ever conceive of that would come close to it," said Starlight. "She said that to me, a pony who altered time and created horrible futures to destroy Twilight's friendships as revenge on her. Which was a lot worse than taking away everyone's cutie marks before." She still felt bad about all this.

By now, Trixie had dismounted her pig and was next to them. "And I sought revenge on Twilight and became corrupted by the Alicorn Amulet... you all know how that turned out. It made my boasting seem really tame."

"So who knows what she might have in store this time?" said Twilight. "Now that she has nothing to lose, she could be even more dangerous!"

"She was probably just trying to scare Starlight," said Rainbow Dash. "Like what can she do?"

"What if she turns into Celestia, Thorax, and Ember, and in each form declares war on one of the other species, leading to an all-our war between ponies, changelings, and dragons?"

"I think I and any of the other leaders would see through that since we know she's still out there," said Celestia, who along with Discord was also standing beside them.

"But what if she puts them under her mind control like she did my brother? Or, what if she captures Rarity, imprisons her somewhere, turns into her, feeds off Spike's love for her, and becomes powerful enough to defeat Starlight? And without Rarity we can't defeat her?"

"She does raise a good point," said Rarity.

"Well, I can send you to where she is right now, and then you can defeat her so she'll never get the chance again!" said Discord.

"Do it," said Twilight.

Discord snapped his fingers, and the Mane 6 vanished in a flash of light.

They appeared in a rocky area, and quickly spotted Chrysalis pacing around, muttering some violent things, in which Starlight's name could occasionally be heard.

"CHRYSALIS!" said Twilight.

Chrysalis turned around. "Ah, it's you six! I'll eliminate you first, then my revenge on Starlight will be easier!"

"You'll never get the chance!" said Twilight.

"There's six of us and one of you!" said Rainbow Dash. "Surrender now!"

"Is there any chance at all that you might reform?" said Fluttershy. "You saw what it could do for you. And I think you'd look just lovely in your evolved form."

"I'd rather die than join Thorax's pitiful band of reformed changelings!" said Chrysalis. "But today, it's your turn!"

A pillar of green fire appeared around her, rapidly expanding. When it disappeared, she was now in the form of an Ursa Major. She had the appearance of light green stars on a black night sky, and of course, in the shape of a humongous bear.

The other Mane 5 stared, having never seen an Ursa Major before, only the Ursa Minor that Twilight had defeated. Even Twilight was very nervous at the sight of Chrysalis's new form. Nopony could vanquish an Ursa Major. But, maybe they could...

"I shall lay waste to all of Equestria in this form!" said Chrysalis, and she raised her foot above the Mane 6.

As Chrysalis stomped, she felt her foot make contact with something burning. Try as she might, she could not crush them. She looked down. A light was shining beneath her foot. The Mane 6 had activated Rainbow Power.

"Last chance, Chrysalis!" said Twilight. "Surrender!"

In a flash of green fire, Chrysalis transformed into dragon, the same size as the Ursa Major. Her scales were the same dark gray that she usually was, and her underbelly was green. Her wings were transparent and the same color as they usually were, but still dragon wings. Her spikes were the same shade of teal as her mane.

Fluttershy felt a bit nervous, but quickly felt courageous, with her friends at her side, and with her Rainbow Power.

"First I'll burn you to a crisp, and then, all of Equestria!" said Chrysalis, and she shot a blast of green fire at the Mane 6.

The Mane 6 countered with a rainbow blast of their own, its colors purple, pink, blue, orange, white, and yellow. Their blasts collided with each other, stayed evenly matched for about five seconds... and then the rainbow blast overpowered Chrysalis's blast of flame, arched downward, and hit her directly in the heart.

Chrysalis roared in pain as glowing white cracks appeared all over her, rays of rainbow light shone from her, and, with a final cry of defeat, she shattered to pieces, just as King Sombra had. The pieces crumbled to ash and blew away in the wind. Queen Chrysalis was no more.

The Mane 6 pinpointed the location of Starlight's town, and flew back to it, powering down.

Rainbow Power was quite a handy trick, and it made their battles a lot easier. They had made quick work of Tirek when he was all-powerful with alicorn magic and Discord's magic. Sadly, it couldn't do much for fixing damaged buildings or playground equipment.

"It is done," said Twilight. "Chrysalis is with Sombra and Tirek in Tartarus, and she won't threaten Equestria ever again."

"Well done, Twilight," said Celestia.

"Actually, the credit should go to Starlight. We could not have defeated her if Starlight hadn't saved us first." She'd have to make sure a party was held for her achievement.

"Just like Princess Cadance couldn't have beaten King Sombra if I hadn't gotten the Crystal Heart!" said Spike.

The ponies laughed. Spike was always talking about his heroics in the Crystal Empire!

Of course, he wouldn't have had to save the Crystal Empire the second time, during the Equestria Games, if the princesses' magic hadn't been disabled.

Chrysalis found herself in a cage in a cell in Tartarus, the circle in the center of the cell glowing light blue as soon as she and her cage appeared. She was dead, and this was where she was spending her afterlife. Twilight had finally gotten the best of her.

She had bitten Starlight's tail once. She wished she could bite her tail off, as well as those of the Mane 6.

A monster - a living monster imprisoned in Tartarus through its portal - walked by, but took no notice of her.

Then, a screen came on in her cell. It was of... ponies, but they looked completely different than the ponies of Equestria. There was also a dragon resembling Spike. They called him Spike... but something about the ponies was... the kind of show you'd expect only very young fillies to like.

This was G3 of My Little Pony.

"Oh, the horror!" said Chrysalis.
