The Mystery of Professor Z

Professor Z has created a new laboratory in the Everfree Forest after sneaking in and out of Ponyville stealing all sorts of technology. Everypony who heard about his escape assumed he was killed by the creatures of the forest, but he actually wasn't. He has been continuing his experimenting, however he is unable to due to the instability of the creatures. He has then taken unsuspecting pets from that town and has made more fused animals like he was doing before he was discovered.

"Ah. The sweet feeling of animal mutilation and fusing.", he says. "It feels as good as it was ten years ago."

He then grabs his artificial wings and prepares to take off.

"Time to get more food for my creations."

He takes off and sets off to Ponyville. He then spots a small group of ponies and lands on a nearby building, making sure he isn't seen. He has a good view of the group. He sees a lavender alicorn mare, an alabaster unicorn mare, a cyan pegasus mare, an orange earth pony mare, a yellow pegasus mare and a pink earth pony mare.

"Girls, have you been hearing all these reports about disappearing pets?", the alicorn asks.

"I know. It just doesn't make any sense.", the unicorn says. "And even more unexplained, there were some unicorns who had pets and they didn't feel any magic when their pets disappeared."

"Well one thing is for sure, we better find a way to make sure no other pets will disappear.", the pegasus says.

"She's right.", the alicorn says. "Alright girls, spread out and warn other pet owners that their pets are at the risk of disappearing."

They all spread out and the professor takes in what he had witnessed.

"So they're going to try and stop my experiments, are they?", Z says to himself. "This could be a problem to my obsession. This must be stopped."

He sets off and pursues each member of the group. He follows each one of them as they warn every citizen who owns a pet about their risk of disappearing as well.

Nightfall occurs and the ponies regroup.

"Alright girls, have we warned every pet owner in Ponyville?", the alicorn asks.

"I think so.", the cyan pegasus says.

The yellow pegasus then gasps.

"Oh, my goodness, I just realized something!", she says.

"What is it, Fluttershy?", the orange earth pony asks.

"We're pet owners ourselves. What if they're in danger of disappearing as well?"

They all gasp in understanding.

"Oh, my gosh. I don't want to lose my pet alligator from some mysterious method of disappearance. He means the word to me and I have no idea how I'll be able to cope with the lose of him. I mean if he was like a son to me, I would be devastated if that too were to happen and I would have to search high and low for days on end until-", the pink mare rambles before she gets her mouth covered.

"Don't worry, Pinkie.", the unicorn says. "We're all going to guard our pets with our lives to make sure they won't disappear."

"Alright girls, I have a plan.", the alicorn says. "We're all going to sleep over at my castle to make sure all of our pets are safe and still together. Agreed?"

"Agreed?", they all say in unison.

"Alright. Let's gather our pets."

They all split up again while the professor thinks of a plan.

"Well, how about that.", he says to himself. "There's a castle in this place and they're all gathering there along with their pets. It's looks like I hit the jackpot."

He puts on his wings and prepares to take off.

"I better go grab my equipment.", he says before taking off back to the forest.

Soon, the ponies all gather at the castle and sleep in their own sleeping backs. They also are with their own pets. The alicorn is with an owl, the unicorn with a cat, the cyan pegasus with a turtle, the orange earth pony with a dog, the yellow pegasus with a bunny and the pink earth pony with an alligator. A dragon then enters the room and gives them all glasses and of warm milk.

"Here you go, girls. Glasses of fresh, warm milk.", he says.

They all take the glasses and give half of their glasses to their pets and drink the rest.

"OK. Are you all ready to go to bed?"

"Yep, we're all ready.", the alicorn says.

"Alright. Goodnight, girls.", he says.

"Goodnight, Spike.", they all say.

He leaves the rooms and closes the door. The group then fall asleep and their pets all sleep with their owners. What they don't know is that they're not alone. The professor has reached the castle and managed to sneak in through the window. He reaches the floor and tiptoes to the pets. He then accidentally steps on the cat's tail and it screams in pain. It wakes up the whole group and they all scream. The pets all run away and he goes after them. The mares try to do whatever they can to stop him but he dodges them and takes a pet each. Soon he has all of the pets and escapes with them in his cage.

"Oh, my gosh.", the alicorn says. "Those other pets didn't disappear. They were stolen. We've gotta warn the town!"

The girls then take off and head out to want all of the pet owners to warn them about the true cause of the disappearing pets.
