The Mystery of Professor Z

Professor Z marvels at his newest creation.

"A very phenomenal piece of art if I do say so myself.", he says.

"Stop right there!", a voice says.

He turns his head and sees the group of ponies he encountered last night, along with a baby dragon.

"What? How did you all survive?", he asks.

"Our friend, Spike, took care of those animals.", the cyan pegasus says.

"And thanks to him, those animals can finally rest in peace.", the yellow pegasus says.

"You should be ashamed of yourself. Those animals never volunteered to be mutilated and butchered back together.", the unicorn says.

The professor then growls and gets an idea.

"Well if you do want those pets to rest in peace, would you be willing to put your pets down?"

He then reveals the cage and the group is horrified. Inside the cage was a creature that has half a body of a cat, hanging from the mouth of a bunny's head, that's on top of a tortoise fused with the bottom of an alligator body, with the bottom flesh of a dog and owl wings on its back.

"Oh, my gosh.", the alicorn says. "What did you do to our pets?"

"I turned them into my latest creation.", the professor says. "So tell me. Are you all willing to put your own pets down? Seize them!"

The creature then charges to the group and tries attacking them. All of the members try to attack it, but remember it's their pets trying to attack them.

"Girls, what's the matter?", the dragon asks.

"We can't attack them. They're still our pets.", the yellow pegasus says.

"I know they're still your pets, but their gone now. And nothing is gonna save them or bring them back now."

"He's right. You'll have to put your pets down if you want to catch me.", Z says. "Let them live or put them at peace. It's your choice."

The creature pounces and maims them slowly and painfully. The mares are left wounded and bleeding. The unicorn and alicorn try to use their magic to heal themselves but are too weak to cast spells. The professor laughs manically.

"Well, well, well. It seems that you're all too weak willed to put your precious pets out of their misery. OK, time to finish all of you."

He then feels something hot and jumps up in pain. He looks back and sees that his tail is burnt to the bare skin. He then sees the dragon and smacks his forehead.

"I can't believe I forgot about the dragon. I really should pay attention to the outside world more often."

He then prepares his wings and runs to him.

"You won't get away with this.", the dragon says.

"You're dead meat!", the professor says.

He runs away and gets chased by the stallion. He then sees the monster about to kill his friends and before he can save them, the stallion catches him.

"Your friends have interfered with my experimenting long enough. Now It's time for them to die."

The dragon then breaths fire on his face and he screams in pain. The dragon then runs off and fights the monster. While the dragon and the monster are fighting, the mares confront the professor.

"Professor Z, your days of mutilating animals are about to come to an end.", the alicorn says.

He activates his wings and goes after them. The mares then battle against the professor until the pink mare hops on his back and pulls off his wings. The professor then falls and hits the ground. The mares surround the professor and grapple him before he can attack anymore.

" Release me this instant. Do you all not know who I am? I am Professor Z. The greatest scientist in all of Equestria.", the professor says.

"That's right. And your reputation has hit rock bottom.", the unicorn says.

"And you hit the ground which has rocks on the bottom.", the pink earth pony mare says.

Her friends all look at her awkwardly.

"I'll work on that."

The mares take the professor back to Ponyville and the police stallions face him.

"Officers, I believe we've found your escaped convict.", the alicorn says

"Welcome back, Professor Z.", one of them says. "It's time to put you back, but this time, in a more reinforced cell."

"For the first time in my life, I have no idea how to respond to that.", Z says.

They take the professor away and the citizens applaud them to taking the professor back.

"Well what happened to our pets.", a pegasus mare asks.

"They're all gone.", the yellow pegasus says. "But at least they'll all rest in peace."

The citizens sag their heads then accept reality.

"OK, everypony. Let's just be thankful that scientist won't be torturing anymore animals.", a unicorn stallion says. "Let's all go home and continue with our lives."

All of the citizens go back home as the mares and the dragon stay put. They all confront the monster that used to be their pets and stare at it with pity.

"Well we better put them all down.", the alicorn says.

"It's the right thing to do.", the yellow pegasus says.

"Goodbye, Owlowicious. You've been the best nighttime study bird ever.", the alicorn says.

"Fare thee well, Opalescence. No cat will ever be as beautiful as you.", the unicorn says.

"See ya, Tank. Out of all the pets who have been the most loyal to me, you were number one.", the cyan pegasus says.

"I'll never forget you, Winona. I'll always remember all those time we rally those cows.", the orange earth pony says.

"Don't worry, Angel. I'll still have the other animals to keep me company. But you'll always be my favorite bunny.", the yellow pegasus says.

"So long, Gummy. You've always been there to make me smile, but I'll find other ways to make me smile.", the pink earth pony mare says.

"Shall I do the honors?", the dragon asks.

They all nod and he approaches them.

"Rest in peace, you precious pets."

He breaths fire on it and leave it to burn to ashes. The mares follow the dragon as they leave all of the pets to perish.
