Harmony Quest: Tale of the Light and Dark

          They went back to Britannica, and the two sat down on the soft grass on the hill, the place where Twilight and Frisk made their promise to be best friends. Looking at the starry night sky, Twilight remembered all of the times she had.

          'It's a wonderful view...' Twilight said. 'I remember that day, Frisk and I became the best of friends.'

          Nathan smiled. 'It's a bit dark, I'll fix it.' He made a little blue flame in his hand, levitated it up, and let its glow shine around them.

          'Romantic, isn't it?' She giggled.

          'Yes... I have a confession for you.' His face was turning red.

          'I still recall that day, I said I had a confession to her. It's your turn, I guess.' She replied. 'Go on, say it,' She saw him acting weirdly and feeling shy.

          'When I first watched the show, you were my absolute favorite character. That day, when I met you, I was shocked and felt very honored to meet you. And, to think we'll be in a group in this war, this fight was one thing I will not forget. You have influenced me so much, I always hoped to have friends like you and the others.' Nathan explained.

          'Geez, don't say that Nathan... you make me blush.' Twilight said, feeling embarrassed.

          '(laughs) I'm not done yet,' He laughed. 'The truth is... I sort of have a crush on you.'

          She gasped. 'Really? You... You have feelings for me?'

          He held up her head. 'Don't tell anyone else except Frisk, the others will know soon enough. But... I really mean it, Twilight. I have been with you all for a while now, and I truly understand how sad you felt when Frisk wasn't by your side. It's kind of awkward that you and Frisk love each other, now that I think about it. So... I decided to see if I can win your heart.'

          Hearing his confession, Twilight was embarrassed. She didn't know what to say.

          '(Giggles) Don't be silly! Frisk is just my friend! Not like we are completely lesbians or something.' She giggled. 'Though, wow... I don't know what to say. It's such a new thing to be in a relationship with someone.'

          Hearing that, Nathan sighed. 'Well, I don't mind if you deny it. I know you and Flash have feelings for each other. And I acknowledge we aren't the same race either. We can still be friends, and you and Frisk can be best friends too. Don't worry about me, I won't be mad if you don't love me.'

          As she saw him lying down, crossing his feet and resting on the grass, Twilight thought he really did mean what he said. She lied down and smiled. After a bit of blushing, she kissed Nathan while he wasn't watching.

          'Oh, haha. I... I didn't expect that.' He said, feeling shy.

          She giggled. 'I'll admit, you're pretty interesting. You know what? Maybe I'll be your partner.'

          'Really?'

          'Mmhm~ Maybe I will,' The princess said, moving closer to him.

          Nathan's face was red as an apple. '(laughs) Oh, I can't believe you said that I didn't think you will. And... Twilight?'

          'What is it?'

          'Just... Thank you so much.' He said.

          'For what?'

          He sat on the hill and sighed. 'I had a terrible past. I was bullied, teased, laughed at... My classmates did so many bad things to me. I hated them. I didn't want to go to school because of them. I even thought of committing suicide. But then... I met you. Since then, you have helped and cared for me. You were one of the first friends I have ever made since I entered my teenage school years. You meant so much to me than just a friend. It was so nice to see somepony cheering me up through my darkest times. And... I fell for your caring and loving heart not long after we met.'

          Twilight was shedding a few tears and wiped them off. 'I didn't think we would have that much in common. I had the same path as you when I was young. And, you're most certainly welcome. I liked having new friends and despite you were a human and once wanted to "Infiltrate" into our world, we became friends in no time. And, honestly... I kinda loved you too when Frisk wasn't here.'

          Both of them grinned and hugged each other.

          'Can I kiss you?' Nathan whispered.

          Twilight was feeling a bit shy at first, but she gave in on resisting. 'Go ahead, it's okay.'

          As they were about to kiss each other, someone came out from a portal around them.

          'Hey Twilly I have something to- Oh my Celestia, what are you and Nathan doing!?' It was Frisk.

          The two immediately faked that nothing happened.

          'Nothing! Totally not proposing to her about my feelings!' Nathan said nervously.

          Twilight didn't really care much. 'Hey Frisk, what is it?' She called her to sit beside.

          'Remember I once said that I was working on a story?' Frisk said, hiding something behind her.

          'Of course, so are you saying you finished it?'

          Frisk took out a striped present. 'I believe this is for you.'

          'But... Didn't you become a pony? That's already Nathan, Asriel, and your present to me.'

          'Take it, I worked very hard on it.' Frisk said, giving her the present.

          She opened her present excitedly. Twilight saw a few books in a case, with the case saying 'Harmony Quest', with a colorful cover. The three books inside were all written by herself and recorded all of the past adventures that they had together.

          'You've made a series of stories about our adventures?' She asked.

          Frisk smiled. 'Yes but... It's not finished yet. I still have a bit more to write, and I will stop the third episode. I just wanted to give you a first look, and see what you think. Don't worry, I still have more to write, hopefully.'

          'I love it, thanks!' Twilight was pleased and pulled her close with her wing.

          Nathan felt a bit left out. 'I guess I will leave you to it, then.'

          'Nah, you can stay and talk to us,' Frisk said. 'But seriously... what were you guys doing?'

          The two's faces went red. 'Oh... Nothing. It's just...'

          'Adorable~! You guys love each other, right?' She knew they were hiding it.

          Nathan scratched his head. 'Fine, you caught us.' He laughed. 'Are you okay with it, though?'

          'Don't worry, I am fine with you guys being a couple. Just... can we still be best friends, Twilly?' Frisk asked.

          Twilight hugged her friend. 'Of course! As long we don't get into any more fights, I will always be your best buddy.'

          'Promise me this won't happen again?'

          'Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye,' They both promised each other.

          The three friends laid their arms around each other and looked at the night sky. It was certainly a great sight. When she wasn't watching, Nathan kissed Twilight.

          '(Laughs) Oh, Nathan...' She thought.

          'Sorry, I couldn't help myself... It's okay if you don't-' He stopped when Twilight kissed him, right on those lips. He had such a big smile, he couldn't describe how happy he was.

          'Awkward, I know. But this will be a pretty good start of a new and deeper friendship,' She giggled.

          As they were talking, Frisk was trying her best to hold back the grin on her face.

          'Hey, what are you looking at?' Twilight asked in an unamused voice.

          'Nothing! Why would I ever do that with you? That's weird!' Frisk replied.

          'Don't you dare tell the others about it yet!'

          Frisk just sneered. 'Nathan and Twilight, sitting on a tree~ k-i-s-s-i-n-g!'

          The princess was getting a bit cross. '(Gasp) Hey!'

          'Oh, you're kidding me.' Nathan thought.

          The two looked at each other, feeling upset. A second later they laughed.

          '(Laughs) Did you really think we were going to fight, Nathan?' Twilight asked.

          Nathan started laughing as well. 'Haha, of course not!'

          At the end of the day, all three of them thought of something.

          'The past adventures we had... Were all special. From that day onward, my life had changed forever. It won't ever be the same now that I am a pony, but I believe... My friends and I can be so much more. Now that the war has ended, I can't wait to finally put my past adventures to rest.'

          'I can never be grateful enough for the decision I've made all those years ago. While we saved the world... Three times, it's always a challenge that I thought I will never conquer. Those memories will always one day fade away, but our friendship will always carry on, and I even found the one I am destined to be with... Twice! The harmony that lives between us... Will always, and forever live.'

          'From that day on, I never regretted coming to the pony world. Without that one decision, I could never have found her. The past years... I have changed. I was always alone, all the time. But now... I feel that there is much more to me. My new friends... They mean so much to me in a part of my life. I will never, ever be thankful enough.'

          All three of them smiled, and put their arms around each other as they looked at the night sky, thinking of the same thing.

          'My friends... You've changed my life.'
