We now return to the Transformers...

The atmosphere was much calmer the next morning. The girls were recovering from the terrors from the night before, and they were even patching up Rainbow Dash's cuts and scrapes from her time with Vertebreak. Sideswipe was undergoing surgery to have his transformation cog installed again, and Weirdwolf was getting his own little wounds patched up as well with the help from Fixit.

"I appreciate the help Mini-con, but I assure you, I'm fine." Weirdwolf said.

"Nonsense! You need medical attention, and Ratchet is busy putting Sideswipe's transformation cog back into his system. This shouldn't be an issue."

Fixit finished welding another piece of metal together, and once he was done, he gently tapped the piece. "Done!"

Fixit rolled away on his little wheels, all the while Weirdwolf just looked at his patched up wounds.

"You feeling any better buddy?" Rainbow asked.

"I am now, now that you're okay." Weirdwolf's ear twitched.

"Oh come on, do you really think he would actually kill me?" Rainbow asked.

Weirdwolf scowled, raising a brow. He wasn't joking around. And neither were the others.

"Oh. Right.... thanks again." Rainbow said, not even looking.

Weirdwolf's scowl lifted up, letting his friendly smile return.

"So, what are you going to do now?" Twilight asked. "Now that Vertebreak's on the run, I assume you're probably going to still be looking for a new place to live."

"Can you stay with us!?" Fluttershy zoomed right up into Weirdwolf's face with a crazy smile on her face. But she caught herself just in time to notice the wolf Con was flinching. "If, that's alright with you..."

Pinkie let out a large gasp and a big grin crept on her face. "That is the most amazing idea ever! You'd make a great Autobot! Come on, join us!" Pinkie Pie jumped up and down in excitement.

Weirdwolf's ears twitched as he looked at them, and he blinked a few times. But he didn't reply. As nice as their offer was, he didn't want to continue to be part of the never-ending war. Their faces turned from happy to sad and disappointed. Pinkie's own hair went from puffy and lively to flat and limp, and her lips were trembling.

"Girls, I appreciate your offer, I truly do, but I can't defect to the Autobots. I'd be back into the war once again, and I wanted to stay far from the Autobot/Decepticon battle as much as possible." Weirdwolf said standing back up on his feet. "I'm sorry but... I have to say no."

Fluttershy's own eyes started to water up in sadness, and the rest of the girls were sharing very similar responses. Applejack dipped her hat down to cover her own face, and now Pinkie's own eyes were leaking waterfalls of tears.

Weirdwolf's own heart snapped seeing their sad looks. He couldn't just leave them like this. Not after how much they did for him, and not to mention what he could miss out on if he left. Maybe... just maybe...

"Girls. You didn't let me finish." Weirdwolf cleared his throat.

Pinkie and Fluttershy's own crying stopped, and everyone else looked back up at Weirdwolf, still having disappointed faces.

"I said I wanted to stay away from the war... but I didn't say I wanted to stay away from any of you."

"W-What do you mean?" Fluttershy whimpered.

"Wait, you mean..."

"You're gonna stay here with us?" Sunset asked with an excited smile.

"If you mean over in the Canterlot area, then... yes." Weirdwolf smiled, his hands resting on his hips.

Pinkie, upon hearing that response, inflated like a balloon and she was practically beaming with happiness.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" Pinkie jumped up and down. "You're gonna stay! OH! I need to make a 'Welcome To Canterlot' party! It'll be amazing!"

While the rest of the girls were all conversing with each other, mainly excited over this new development, Sunset took a moment to finally talk to the canine Decepticon just by herself.

"So... you've finally found a home after all." Sunset smiled.

Weirdwolf smiled. "Apparently so."

"I guess we'll be seeing around town then?" Sunset replied.

Weirdwolf nodded. "I believe so. And should you ever need a friend to talk to, I'm always around. In fact... if there's any kind of emergency, please, don't hesitate to call me."

Sunset smiled and she moved close for a hug. Weirdwolf just picked her up and gave her a big hug. Sunset looked again, and just like before, his tail was slowly moving side to side. She just giggled seeing the sight.

The other Autobots watched as Sunset and Weirdwolf embraced in each other, and Ratchet couldn't help but smile.

"I'm sure Optimus was right here... he would be proud." Ratchet said to himself.

Much later that day, the girls and Weirdwolf, along with a handful of Autobots all decided to help Weirdwolf find a new location to move in. Since his attempt at making a home out of wood wasn't successful, they all chipped in and decided to transfer his home into the caves where Fluttershy found Wasp held captive by Pseudo.

The group all helped create the place and they made it a bit more lively. They managed to install a radar map and screen for him to find incoming signals nearby, along with an internet search provider, a television for him to study a bit of Earth from, several medical equipment for him to use should he need to patch up his wounds, and of course, Energon for him to feed from.

And as an added addition, suggested by Weirdwolf himself, they provided human comforts as well so should Weirdwolf ever invite them to his home, they would feel much more comfortable having things at their height. And Weirdwolf was given access to human medical supplies should ever the emergency arrive.

By the time the day was over, his entire home was finished and looking like a stronger base of operations for himself. He now had a sanctuary, a new set of friends, and everything he could ever want.

"So... shall we see you around then?" Sunset asked, standing with the rest of the girls.

The wolf nodded. "I suppose so. I hope you all continue to stand triumphant in your war with the Decepticons, until the day that we all are one."

Sunset smiled. "I promise you, the war will end eventually. I know so."

"Good luck girls, and... til we meet again." Weirdwolf smiled.

"Bye Weirdwolf!" Pinkie jumped up waving her goodbye.

"We'll see you later buddy!" Rainbow called out.

One by one, all of the girls departed the forest ground where Weirdwolf stood. He stood watching as they left, a smile staying on his face. Turning around, he looked down into the crystal clear water, seeing his own reflection's smile.

"Welcome home, old friend."

As the girls were walking out of the woods where the rest of their friends were waiting, they were busy laughing and giggling in joy. They were now excited for all of the things they could do with their new friend.

"Well isn't this an interesting week? Find a prison ship, meet a friendly Decepticon." Applejack chuckled.

"And a psychopath!" Pinkie nodded.

"So, does this mean we'll see Vertebreak again?" Fluttershy asked.

"I'm sure it does. He may have escaped, but I have a good feeling we'll run into him again." Twilight replied.

"And we'll be ready." Sunset said with a determined grin. "You know... something just hit me. That ship contained a couple of hundreds of Decepticons in there. You think there might be Decepticons like Weirdwolf? There might be more friendly Cons who just want to live in peace."

"Sunset, that ship contained the most dangerous Decepticons in Cybertron's history. Do you really think there might be more out there? I can't even stand to see even one of those brutes!" Rarity asked.

"Well if there are, I think we can help them. If we can make a new friend like Weirdwolf, then I'm sure we can make new friends with some of the fugitives. In fact, lets make this a personal mission. If there are more Decepticons out there who are like him, lets do what we can to help them. Offer them a hand, friendship, kindness, everything that Megatron's associates never had." Sunset boomed.

Applejack and Twilight grinned.

"You know something Sunset? You just might make the perfect second-in-command for Optimus Prime after all." Applejack replied.

"Just as long as you try to do things your own way, and not like his." Twilight smiled.

Sunset scoffed. "Come on, I wasn't always doing things like his way."

"Yeah you were!" Pinkie beamed.

"Oh come on! How was I acting Optimus?"

"That impression and his speech patterns say everything Sunset." Rainbow chuckled.

The girls all just continued talking as they left the forest, all the while a sun was setting down in the sky above them. The end of another beautiful day was here. And it was a wonderful way to end the evening. There may have been several hundred of Decepticons on the run... but they would be ready.

And we have it folks! Wolf In The Fold is complete! I hope you enjoyed it, and please tell me, what do you think worked, what do you think didn't work. I was planning on having the snobbish people get their comeuppance at the end, but I don't think that's necessary right now.

This wasn't great, but there's always room for improvement.
