I Will Return

We now return to the Transformers...

Later that day, Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the girls including Fixit and Sideswipe were wandering around the streets of Canterlot, still on the search for Vertebreak while Sunset was off with Weirdwolf.

"This is a waste of time. We're never gonna find Vertebreak at this rate!" Rainbow groaned.

"We'll find him Rainbow, but we can't just go wandering around blind like bats. We've got to find out where exactly his signal is comin' from."

Twilight held a little device in her hand, trying to read his life signal. The Decepticon logo kept on flashing on the screen, giving out his location, but as they looked, they felt something was off. Vertebreak was right where they were standing. But that was impossible, he was nowhere to be seen, and he wasn't on the ground level with all of them. Or was he right where they were, but he was... underneath?

The girls looked down on the ground, and back to Twilight's signal.

"You think maybe he's underground?"

"Maybe... I hope not. But where would he be going?"

The girls all paused so they could think for a second, and a light in their heads flickered.

"The subways!"

The group of seven, walked through the subways, just off to the side on the walkways to avoid getting hit by any incoming trains. Needless to say, none of them were thrilled to be walking around in the dark, disgusting, dirty, and damp tunnel systems.

"Ugh, why do we have to go down these dirty tunnels? They're filthy and they smell awful!", Rarity whined.

"Because the signal is coming directly down here, and its the only way we can find him," Twilight sternly replied.

While the girls walked through the tunnels, little Fixit held a console in his tiny hands as his little wheels kept rolling forward. Fixit and Twilight were leading the group, while everyone else walked behind them.

They came across another turn and froze. The subway tunnels split into two, leading to different pathways.

“Where do we go now?”, Pinkie asked.

“I have an idea. Lets split into two groups. Fixit, Sideswipe, and Rainbow Dash will come with me through the tunnel on the right,” Twilight said pointing to the tunnel on the right, “and Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy will take the other tunnel. Sound good?”

“Perfect plan darling,” Rarity agreed.

Rarity led her group away into the left tunnel while Twilight led her group onto the right tunnel. Luckily for them, there were no trains coming down on the tracks, so this meant they had time to walk.

"So Fixit, what do you think of Earth so far?"

"Hmmm...", Fixit tapped his chin, "As far as I've seen, this planet seems to be very spec-spec-spec-spec-spec-spec--" Fixit pounded his chest, to get himself to stop stuttering, "-spectacular! I've never seen these forms of life before, and its absolutely wonderful!"

"That's good to hear. I'm sorry about having all of this dropped on you though. What with being stuck on this planet, no way off, and with dozens of Decepticon fugitives on the run...", Twilight chuckled nervously.

"Its quite alright. I'm just glad to see that Optimus Prime and his team are here on this planet too. Hopefully we'll be able to capture all of the fugitives."

"I'm sure we will. But, do you have anything to round them all up?"

"Well, we do have plenty of stasis cells intact, but I know that Optimus Prime's team has plenty of stasis cuffs and prison cells in their base."

"True. But was there anything else on board that could help us? Anything we could use to help capture them outside of stasis cuffs?"

Fixit tapped his chin, until an idea came to his head.

"There is something I think can help, but I seemed to have forgotten it with me."

"Maybe we can get it later. What is it?"

"Every prison ship from Cybertron carries weapons that are called Decepticon Hunters."

"And what do they do?" Rainbow Dash asked from behind them.

"Decepticon Hunters connect to its user's neural transmissions, so whatever combat device is imagined, the Decepticon Hunter generates... within certain parameters."

"Remind me why we didn't take them with us?" Sideswipe asked.

"Its okay Rainbow. We didn't know this information when we first started this quest, we just have to keep moving forward. How many were on the ship Fixit?"

We had three onboard, but they can be created. However they do require an excellent, excent," Fixit punched himself to stop his stuttering, "excessive amount of materials!

"Understood. But maybe we can use one of those. They could come in handy after all," Twilight said.

Twilight pulled up her cellphone and swiped in the number for who she was going to call. As soon as she hit the right numbers, she held the phone to her ear.

"Twilight. How goes your report? Any sign of Vertebreak?"

"No Ratchet. But I have a request to make. Can you find the Decepticon Hunters and send one through a Groundbridge? We're going to need one for Sideswipe. Oh, and double check how many we have. I want to make sure we have three."

"Understood. Give me a moment..."

Twilight continued to hold the phone to her ear and she listened closely as she could hear Ratchet's footsteps walk on the ground. She waited patiently for a response, until she heard him speak again.

"By the Primes... Twilight. Listen closely. We only have two Decepticon Hunters."

"What!? Fixit, didn't you bring in all three to the base? Weren't they like pipes with a few spikes near the end?"

"I had all three with me! I'm positive I couldn't have lost one," Fixit stammered.

"Alright, alright. Look, we'll find out what happened to it, but right now, lets just all stay calm about this. We know there's still two more in our possession, and we just need one for Sideswipe so he can defend himself. Ratchet, open up the Groundbridge to our coordinates and throw the Decepticon Hunter through."

The group all stopped and waited for a moment, ready for whenever a Groundbridge opened up.

Soon, a Groundbridge generated in front of the girls, glowing bright in their eyes.

"Okay... any moment now, we'll get the Decepticon Hunter."

They waited for a few moments, and as Twilight moved a little closer, she was met with a giant flinging pipe-like device flying over her head, slamming right into Fixit throwing him onto his back.

Fixit wasn't hurt, but the wind was knocked out of him, leaving him moaning in pain.

Twilight's jaw lowered and her eyes were wide with shock. She stared back at the portal with a less than happy face.

"I didn't mean literally throw!"

But the portal closed before Twilight could talk any more. She clamped her face with her hand and shook her head.

"Fixit, are you okay?" Twilight asked as she helped Fixit get back onto his little wheels.

Fixit shook his head violently, and looked back to Twilight.

"I'm alright. Nothing too major that I can't fix," Fixit said as he cranked his arms around.

"Good to hear. Now can we see these Decepticon Hunters up close?"

Sideswipe grabbed the weapon from off the ground, holding it tight in his hand.

"Okay, so I just imagine the weapon in my mind, and it'll magically form?"

"Correct Sideswipe," Fixit replied.

Sideswipe tapped his chin and snapped his fingers.

"Flail!"

The device began to transform in his hand. The end of the pipe exposed a blue neon glowing chain, with a spiked ball attached to the end of the chain.

"Oooh... Okay, uh... Sword!"

The device changed its shape again. The neon flail vanished itself back in the device, and instead a sharp long gray blade folded itself out from the extended staff it had created.

"I love this thing already," Sideswipe grinned.

Rainbow grinned towards her guardian.

"Okay, that's awesome."

Rainbow and Sideswipe shared happy grins... for a few seconds. They listened to the background around them, and there was a peculiar sound coming towards them. It was coming far down the corner of the tunnel, just far in front of them.

"Sideswipe, now would be a good time to use that thing."

Sideswipe grunted and he readied the device in his arm which immediately converted back into a sword, clenched in his black hand.

"Alright I'm ready. Girls?"

Rainbow Dash and Twilight pounded their fists together and stood in fighting positions, ready for any possible Decepticon that could be coming down that tunnel hall. Fixit even stood in a fighting position too, readying his tiny hands for whoever was going to be coming down. Rainbow turned her head to look at Fixit with a raised brow.

"Um... are you sure you can fight Fixit? You don't really look like the type to go out into battle."

"I assure you, I think I will be fine."

The four of them turned their attention back ahead and discovered some strange shapes coming down the hallway. Shapes that looked all the same. Shapes of giants that all had the same exact shape as they walked. All of them with skinny arms and ankles, but with strong upper torsos with glowing neon in a few places.

The group in front of them came to a halt as they stepped into some light. Their forms were becoming more clear to them. They all shared red visors, with different colors on their bodies, and all having Decepticon insignias on their chests.

"Well, well, well. Look who decided to drop in," one of the troopers said.

The four of them moved out of the shadows and entered the light, making themselves visible Twilight's group.

"Vehicons," Twilight muttered to herself, "I knew it..."

"I'm surprised to see you here Sideswipe. Especially since you can't change your shape..."

Sideswipe snarled his teeth together and he held his sword in his hand. He pointed the blade forward, pointed towards the troopers.

"What do you all want?"

"Its quite clear to us... but not to you. Surrender that pet of yours, and we'll return your transformation cog. Our boss demands it."

Sideswipe glared at them, "I'd rather die than give up my friend!"

"So be it!"

The four Vehicons charged forward to the group with loud cries, ready to battle.

"Autobots, attack!", Twilight called.

Twilight and her friends charged forward and leapt up at the Vehicons starting the first attack. Twilight jumped into the air and performed a hard kick to one of the trooper's face, making him wince in pain. He didn't go down, but he did groan.

Rainbow Dash aimed for the legs and used her suits cannons to shoot towards one of their legs, trying to get him to fall down. He didn't flinch, but instead growled and tried to slice at Rainbow with a claw.

"You aren't taking me you piles of junk!", Rainbow cried.

"We'll see about that, human."

The trooper who tried to claw Rainbow responded with a swift kick to her armor, which threw her into the air slamming against a wall. Rainbow's armor dented the wall, and she fell down onto the ground on her chest.

"Rainbow!" Twilight cried.

Twilight snarled and she jumped at the attacker who tossed Rainbow like a wrecking ball. The Vehicon trooper was ready for her pounce, and so he swatted her to the left side, making her hit the wall.

"Ow..."

The Vehicon walked towards Twilight clashing his fingers together creating an ear-piercing scraping sound. His left hand began a transformation, and it slowly converted into a short-range arm cannon that was charging up with energy.

"Bye bye, Earth stink,"

But before he could make the strike, the sound of little wheels rolling caught his attention and watched as Fixit stood in front of Twilight with a determined look.

"I'm going to make this quite clear. Stand down, right now!"

The trooper chuckled, "What can a little wimp like you possibly--"

Fixit just smirked and grabbed the arm cannon with his left hand, using his three little fingers. Then, out of nowhere, he held the cannon tightly, and started slamming the trooper down on the ground. He tossed him to the left, tossed him to the right, and continued slamming the Decepticon in both of those directions simply by throwing his body with his tiny hands.

Twilight moaned as she slowly pulled herself and her eyes bulged to see Fixit... defending himself? This little robot, the size of a human, was beating the living scrap out of a robot that was several inches taller than him.

"Wow, you're stronger than I would have guessed...", Twilight said in disbelief.

Fixit let go of the giant Vehicon who moaned as he hit the ground.

"As per protocal for being a caretaker of a maximum prison ship, I was entrusted and equipped with all of the equipment and person strength required to handle any prisoner who is freed from captivity," Fixit smiled.

With Sideswipe, he was too busy using his new Decepticon Hunter against another Vehicon who was roughly his size.

"Give up now Autobot. You and your friends have no chance against us," the soldier asked.

"Then explain why you all are easily taken out by one stinkin shot!"

Sideswipe punched the trooper's face and threw him to the track to the right of them. Sideswipe then took this chance and he tackled the Vehicon down and started punching him senselessly.

"Why are you here!? Why are you attacking us!?"

"Its simple. Our boss wants the blue Earth germ, and that's it," The trooper spat.

"Why do you want her!? Why does Vertebreak want her!?" Sideswipe yelled.

"Oh... you'll find out soon enough Autobot. Oh wait, you won't. Because you'll be dead before you can even find out," the trooper snapped.

The trooper looked to the left side, staring back into the fight and smirked a devious smirk.

"And I'd highly suggest you surrender now."

"Like I'll surrender to you punks!"

Sideswipe was ready to punch the trooper again until a voice spoke up.

"I thought you cared about your organic pet," a voice from behind spoke.

"I do care--"

Sideswipe looked back and he gasped. Standing before was a the cobra-like figure from the mugshot staring down at them evilly. And in his possession, with his back end wrapped around like a restraint, was Rainbow Dash who struggled to get free.

"No..."

Vertebreak chuckled, "Amazing what you can do when your enemy is offguard."

Sideswipe got back up on his feet and stood with Twilight and Fixit.

"Let her go! She has nothing to do with this!"

"I don't think so Autobot. She's much too valuable. I'm curious about her..."

"About what!?" Sideswipe growled.

"I've found many photographs in the online database. Quite a lot of interesting photos with you and this organic pet. But what is it about this human that makes you act so... gushy, over her?"

"Leave her alone before I snap your neck," Sideswipe snarled.

"I wouldn't think about it if I were you," Vertebreak said. "If you try to attack, I can simply squeeze the life out of this organic. Organics do need oxygen to breathe, don't they?"

Vertebreak's back end wrapped tighter around Rainbow making her groan as she was tightly squeezed, not given any free movement for her limbs.

"Sideswipe.... just go....", Rainbow whimpered.

"No, I'm not leaving you!"

"Yes you are!" Vertebreak hissed.

His body slithered to Sideswipe while still keeping Rainbow Dash tied up in his own slithering body.

"I'm going to make this clear to you Sideswipe. If you attack me, I will kill your friend. But... if you leave now, I'll give you coordinates for you and your friends to meet up with me, and I'll give your human back to you, all in one piece."

"How can we trust you? Your own experiments caused rampages on Cybertron," Twilight snarled.

Vertebreak looked down at Twilight with a smirk.

"If you do what I say, I'll not only give this... 'Rainbow' back, but I'll throw in my transformation cog that you so desperately need... all I'm requesting is for you to give me 4 hours to study this human, see how they function, understand their systems and movements..."

Sideswipe continued to glare at the snake with a cold stare. He didn't want to leave Rainbow behind with someone like him, but at the same time, he couldn't let her friend be hurt. It looked like the choice was clear.

Sideswipe put his weapon away, and he growled.

"You better bring her back in one piece. I find out you did one thing to her, I'm going to make sure you never see the light of day, ever again...", Sideswipe growled with his fists rattling.

Vertebreak stayed calm, and he gave one simple nod.

"I understand. And since we've come to a full agreement, I grant you permission to leave. And don't worry, the coordinates won't be too far off this continent. I'll probably only be a few miles from the prison crash, or out in the desert where you ran into me in the first place. Now go," Vertebreak swatted his tiny black claw at them.

Sideswipe clenched his fists and he looked to Rainbow with a worried face.

"I will be back for you. This I swear...", Sideswipe said to a worried Rainbow.

"I know... just go," Rainbow whimpered.

Sideswipe began to turn around and he walked away, and Twilight and Fixit slowly walked behind him. And as they walked away, the troopers walked off with a slithering Vertebreak down into the dark and damp tunnel. Once they were gone, the group of three halted to look down that same tunnel they disappeared down.

"Come on, lets get them--"

"Sideswipe, no!" Twilight pleaded.

"I can't just let them walk off with Rainbow! She's everything to me, and if something happened to her... I... I don't know what I would do. If something happened to my sister I.... Twilight. I already lost one sibling, I don't need to lose another," Sideswipe said with clear lubricant leaking down his eye.

Twilight moved forward and wiped her finger at the tear on his face.

"I promise we'll get her back. Rainbow's strong, I know she'll be okay. I... I hope. But we can't just go charging at them without hurting her. The best we can do is just call the others and let them know what's going on. Maybe we can get her back without them knowing," Twilight replied.

"But how?" Fixit asked.

Twilight sighed, "I don't know. But we have to do something. Come on, we better get the rest of the girls and let them know what happened."

The group of three sighed and they began to walk off together down the tunnel.

"I hope that snake doesn't hurt Rainbow...", Sideswipe snarled.

"I hope we'll get him back into stasis before he'll do anything else despicable," Fixit said.

"I hope Sunset and Weirdwolf are having more fun than we are," Twilight moaned.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Sunset and Weirdwolf screamed loudly as the two of them were running down a large mountain of hard darkened rock. But this was no mountain. For right behind them, exploding in the air were tiny fireballs that kept on flying at them, and a gush of molten lava that was spewing from the top of the top of the mountain. They weren't on any mountain, they were right on a side of an active volcano, and they were running in terror, trying not to be killed.

The Transformers will return after these messages...
