Outside Dr. Eggman's Pyramid Base

Tails lead the group of ten through the shifting desert ruins outside the large pyramid, dealing with G.U.N. security robots along the way. His Cyclone walker easily created paths from the numerous pillars for the rest of the team to cross.

"It's weird that G.U.N. still has their robots after us even though we proved Sonic and Sunset were innocent," Twilight noted as they reached the inner area of the exterior. Now they had to contend with Eggman's robot guards. Fluttershy easily smashed one, freeing the captive animal inside.

"They probably forgot to reprogram them," Sunset answered. Soon, they entered the large structure and were navigating the twists and turns of the darkened hallways.

"This place is... freaky..." Fluttershy shivered as they suddenly reached a large chamber with a giant metal door blocking the path. Twilight inspected the door for a few minutes.

"This looks new," she concluded. "It clashes with the rest of the pyramid."

"And it looks like we'll be needing the keys," Sunset pointed to the three keyholes in the door. Twilight stood dumbfounded for a moment.

"...how did I miss that?" Knuckles got on all fours and brushed some sand off the floor.

"They haven't gone far," he informed the others. "I suggest we split up, it'll make finding them easier."

Sunset nodded in agreement. "So we split into teams?"

"I want Twilight and Applejack with me," Knuckles spoke up. "I may need some extra muscle and knowledge from both." The two minifigs nodded before following Knuckles down one of the hallways. Sunset, Rarity and Fluttershy veered off in the other direction, while Sonic and Rainbow Dash raced each other through the central door with Tails following close behind. Amy and Pinkie Pie were the only ones left in the main chamber.

"So... guess we could check if any of the keys were stashed around here?" Amy suggested. Pinkie eagerly began to bounce all over the place, while her fellow pink companion looked at one of the large hourglasses stationed in front of one of the walls. Noticing the top of the hourglass had a large button, Amy leapt up and pressed her feet down, causing the object to flip over and a previously unseen door to open in front of her.

"Hey, Pinkie!" She called out. Pinkie froze in midair as she saw the door begin to close. "Let's hurry through here!" The pink duo quickly rolled under the door just as it slammed shut. Amy turned to see a dimly lit hallway before them. Grabbing one of the wall torches, the two slowly crept through the bowels of the pyramid, unaware they were being followed...

Applejack punched a wooden crate, shattering it and revealing one of the keys they were searching for.

"One down, two to go!" Twilight proclaimed as Applejack handed it to her. Knuckles closed his eyes again as he began to sense for any signs of the remaining two. His concentration was broken as he suddenly detected a large swirl of energy nearby.

"What is it, Knux?" Applejack asked.

"Danger..." He replied hesitatingly. "...maybe it wasn't a good idea to split up..."

Sunset, Rarity and Fluttershy had been dealing with the robot guards, all of whom bared a striking resemblance to E-102 Gamma.

"They may look like Gamma," Rarity launched a diamond construct at another E-1000 guard, destroying it and freeing the animal inside. "But these ones have ghastly aim!"

"Indeed," Sunset quickly punched through the one closest to her and grabbed the animal inside. The lifeless robot toppled over as soon as the creature was pulled out. Fluttershy quickly ducked at the sight of an E-1000 charging at her. Her crouching form caused the robot to trip and crash. She sighed in relief as a small bird flew out of the destroyed machine.

"No luck finding any keys though..." Rarity dusted her skirt a little. The trio continued down the hall, also unaware they were being followed. At least, until Sunset paused.

"You guys hear that?" She asked.

"Hear what?" Fluttershy asked.

"It sounded like... giggling." She shuddered a little as they entered a medium sized room. In the center of the room,her back to them was Pinkie Pie, her normally puffy hair was now straight and facing down.

"Pinkie!" Rarity sighed in relief. "Thank goodness we found you!"

"What are you doing here alone?" Fluttershy asked.

"Waiting..." the pink minifig slowly turned around, her eyes and mouth closed. The sound of the giggling suddenly began to grow louder. "...FOR YOU!" Pinkie's eyes suddenly opened to reveal large dark orange and yellow irises. Her teeth on the other hand were all black and very sharp. Her friends screamed in terror as Amy floated over next to her, her face with the same features.

"Now join us FOR ETERNITY!" Amy screamed in a demonic voice as a group of small white ghosts surrounded Sunset, Fluttershy and Rarity.

"And that's the last one!" Twilight wiped her forehead as Knuckles dug up the final key. They were in a large room with a very large piston in the center. As they began to head back to the door, the sound of screaming filled their ears. Rushing to the source of the screams, they arrived just in time to see Sonic and Rainbow Dash being pushed into a portal in the wall by the possessed Rarity and Fluttershy.

"Knuckles, help-!" Rainbow was unfortunately cut off by the wall sealing up. Rarity and Fluttershy turned their heads and grinned as more ghosts flew at Knuckles and the others.

"Get down!" The echidna warned as they dropped to the floor, the ghosts flying over them. "We gotta get back!" The trio quickly ran back to the room they were just in. They suddenly stopped when an unearthly roar filled the chamber.

"Wh-What was that?" Applejack trembled as their possessed friends floated before them. Twilight slowly turned around to see a large ghost with a very big mouth.

"A g-ghost!" Twilight whimpered as their friends began to surround them.

"Bring them to me," the large ghost commanded. The smaller ghosts flew towards the remaining three team members. That's when Knuckles noticed one of the ghosts was carrying another of those odd hourglass statues. Running towards the specter, dodging the large fireballs thrown by it, he delivered it a giant punch, causing it to dissolve and drop the hourglass as a result. A stone door on the ceiling suddenly opened, causing all the ghosts to dissolve and shriek in agony. The possessed Lego Team members collapsed to the floor as their possessors flew out of their bodies and dissolved as well.

"Why is everything spinning?" Sunset groaned as Sonic and Rainbow Dash returned from the ghosts' world.

"Just some unexpected paranormal possession," Twilight explained, helping Sunset to her feet. As they head back to the door, Knuckles held out the three keys and handed one to Twilight and the other to Rainbow Dash. Stopping at the large metal door, they placed the keys into the locks, causing it to open. Inside was a large chamber over a quicksand pit.

"I'm surprised you made it this far!" Dr. Eggman's voice called out. A second door opened to reveal the mad scientist in his mech walker. "But this ends now! Give me the Chaos Emerald!"

"Come and get it, Eggface!" Sonic taunted.

"Come forth, my servant!" Eggman shouted. A large brick-built statue rose from the sand and glared menacingly at the Lego Team. It raised its fists, hoping to smash the group into many tiny pieces. Dodging the blow, Rainbow Dash noticed the top of the golem's head had a large button. Flying up to it, she quickly slammed into the button, causing it to spark and shake.

"Okay, that's a serious design flaw!" Sunset pointed out.

"So are those!" Twilight directed the group's attention to a series of platforms on the statue's back, each one leading straight to the button.

"Not one of your best designed mechs, eh doc?" Sonic smirked.

"Sh-Shut up! I only modified it slightly when I found it!"

Pinkie Pie tossed some sprinkles at the Egg Golem's weak spot, completely disabling it and sending it back into the sand from whence it came.

"This isn't over!" Eggman shouted as he headed to the teleporter room. "I'll be seeing you on the ARK soon!"

"So now he's inviting us to his base?" Applejack asked. "Something's not right..."

"Hey, I found a shuttle all of us can fit in!" Amy called out. The others followed her into a hanger bay holding a large Lego space shuttle. Climbing into the cockpit, Tails immediately ignited the engines. The hanger doors opened and the shuttle began to blast off towards the Space Colony Ark, and the final showdown.
