Chapters Chapter 1: What he didn't know
Canterlot, a city located in a mountain near the center of Equestria, the capital city of the country. A dreamland for the majority of ponies who hasn't been there, and why not? built from an Islamic design brought from Saddle Arabia, taking into account the waterfall of the mountain while it was Constructed so the flow of water through the city was natural and most of the time clean, every aspect of the city made it look like any house in it was a castle worth for any king.
But there are the downside's, apart from being easy to locate for any enemy the pony empire had challenge in the past, its own magnificent location is bound to natural repercussions: since the place its too high, breathing oxygen is harder that most places, so traveling to Canterlot in summer is known as a bad decision for professional travel and tourist guides.
Other of the repercussions was the change of temperature at night, something that was actually disturbing the young and weak scales of a twelve years old dragon who was running through the streets of the capital. This purple scaled young dragon's name is spike: a young child that had made his decision to serve a unicorn who give him the best present of his life in the past, life. If not for the raw magical power of the unicorn known as Twilight Sparkle, he would be a rotten dragon egg by now.
And what was he doing now this late at night? well, its quite simple, her friend Twilight had just finished all the ink they had back in the Canterlot studio, the problem was that she needed a least half a bottle more of ink to finish her essay before morning. So here he was running from house to house looking for anypony who is still up that can give him some ink.
Meanwhile, the protege of the ruler of the land Princess Celestia, the fourteen-year unicorn by the name of Twilight Sparkle, was eating her dinner, one that was made hours ago by her 'number one assistant' as she called Spike. her dinner was composed of a cheese salad and mashed potatoes, something healthy and pretty normal for the citizens of the city, but for the unicorn that was tasting it, it was a food which exquisite flavor was more worth than the way she paid him his services.
This was her first bad habit ever since they started to live together, even when she knew the basics of making food for herself, any thought of improving her cooking skill was dismissed the first day she tasted something made by him.
"How does this taste so good?!" she thought while eating unrelentingly "I have eaten with the princess before, and not even the royal chefs could achieve this intoxicating feeling"
Her mind was drifted from her questioning when the door slammed open and then shut without a sound, the sound that followed was a series or little thuds, little recognizable thuds.
"Spike it's that you? I'm upstairs!" Twilight shouted, "did you find some ink?" she added.
The child drake was panting his way upstairs, he had been running non-stop for more than half an hour and now the only challenge left for him was getting the ink back to her.
"I... have your... ink... Twi " he said between pants just a couple more of steps and he could get some rest. Luckily for him, Twilight noticed how tired her assistant was, so she helped him by magically dragging him to his destination. "thanks, I almost fainted" he added.
Twilight took the bottle of ink his assistant was holding and put it on the workbench at the corner of the room alongside three rolled scrolls, from which one of them was empty and ready to be worked on. After that she took a look at him, he was tired, on the verge of sleep, his eyes half-lidded, he was doing his best to keep awake and she knew well why he was trying so hard.
"It's alright spike, this was the last thing I needed from you today, you can go to sleep," she said "I'm gonna teleport you there, so close your eyes tight. have good night spike, I love ya".
"love ya too Twi" he said snoozing before being teleport to his little bed.
Three of the morning in Twilight's studio, a workbench full of books and two candles to illuminate the room, three scrolls rolled up and sealed, packaged in a blue saddle bag. The mare known as twilight was sleeping on the bench, using an open book as a pillow, a trail of saliva getting dangerously close to the pages.
Quite steps went her way down, getting nearer and nearer to her.The sleepy figure of Spike making his appearance near her side.
"I knew she would do this again, I had to talk her out of this habit of sleeping in her studio" he said quietly before reaching a claw to her fur Cold, wow, maybe... oh i see the window of the observatory is open, the cold of the night got here; can't help it, I was too tired to remember her to close that window. I better take her to bed, the last thing she'll want is to get sick he thought.
Grabbing her by her back he holds her bride style into her room. A funny sight to say the least, the purple body of Twilight was almost the double of his size. The fact that Twilight purred at his touch and body warm didn't help either.
After some grunting and more steps that Spike thought at the beginning he reached their shared room, once he got to put her in bed he let out a muttered groan of sleepiness and victory before trying to go back to sleep.
And he tried without avail, something, to better say, someone, was holding him: it was Twilight's magic who took hold of him, followed by her hoof who got him into an unconscious snuggle. Spike thought first it may be a reflex from her, but then were the questioning:
'do I try to escape from her grip? what if she wakes up? this could get embarrassing and maybe she would no get back to bed... uh, what should I do? ' the little dragon questioned, his internal rambling was stopped when twilight shifted her hoofs and started mumbling.
"so... warm, don't... go" she cooed.
Spike hummed and snickered at his friend actions 'Looks like I'm stuck here for the night huh? well it's not so bad either... he thought before something started concerning him, ' I hope this don't get to be something usual for us like the food... or the shared baths or... maybe I should start making a list just in case... wait, a list? wow, Spike, you had been too much time with this filly
Twilight shifted again and tightened the hug, giggling at the scratchy touch of the unpolished scales.
A year had passed And the royal Canterlot library stood proud, being still one of the best libraries in the country. Even when it has been five years since it had been used as a house for a unicorn and her little dragon assistant, who were sharing the bed again( thanks to two well-trained puppy eyes that were used three ours back). The only amusing thing in the matter was that Twilight wasn't sleeping.
It wasn't because she hadn't insomnia, actually her brows were getting heavy and more that one time she had dozed off just to wake up immediately; The actual deal was quite simple: she needed to try five new spells that only could affect a creature that was already at sleep. The first spell was to see the subject's dream, other for reaching memories between the unconscious mind, a lucid dream, and a nightmare dream spell, the last one being the reason she didn't tell spike about it at the first place. After 2 hour's and a half she just needed one spell to finish.
"inducing deep sleep" Twilight muttered while her horn's magic concentrated once again in her little friend, which started to snore right after the spell was cast on him. "It worked?! it did right?" she cheered loudly, trying to wake him up at first. But she knew that some shouts and cheers weren't gonna be enough proof to the test.
"Maybe some tickles would work" she said before holding spike in the air with her magic and proceeded to do the afford mentioned action. She stopped after a whole minute of ravaging his body with tickles; the question was still in the air, he was already in deep sleep or did the spell worked and no matter what she does he would not wake up?.
"Well I could try to hurt him, if not was the case that I'll need a spear to pierce through his scales, and two doctors later... come on twilight think, there might be another sensitive spot..." She recoiled in her last words when she spotted spike tongue lolling out a little "his tongue, that may work! he had said before that his tongue can be as sensitive as the one of a snake some days, the only thing I nee-"
Twilight insomnia was making her presence now, taking the better of her magic and her hold on the drake, which felt on her chest and belly, his serpent tongue landing in her nose.
"Ugh, this is disgusting! stupid body need's now my muzzle its full with the odor of spike's saliva... well... wait... its more like a fragrance... how weird" She thought out loud, sniffing his best friend smell. "It's like food that has been on fire, it's a little addictive too" she explained not caring anymore of her previous tests.
' I can't figure the smells... it's something delicious that's for sure, wait I know, its the panc- ' Twilight self-consciousness got back just in time for her to achieve she has been tasting spike tongue directly from his mouth.
' Oh dear Celestia, what I'm doing!? ' She panicked shifting her four hoofs in all directions 'I drifted my mind and my body took actions while I was away. This is so wrong spike is my best friend we are like brother and sister, um, and Celestia told me to take care of him, well even when he is the one taking care of me, and I'm just deliberating instead of- WHY I CAN'T STOP? '
After a couple of seconds of panic, Twilight managed to calm her breath and her hoofs, she took spike into a hug, deepening the kiss. her wide tongue tasting his whole mouth, his pointy teeth giving her a sensation between joy and fear while her hug tightened searching for tasting him more.
'Maybe it's my hormones, mmm no it can't be, Spike's scales are heat sponges, that's why I ask him to take showers with me in my estrus day's. mhn, What if is because of the fatigue? it would explain why I can't focus. ' Twilight stopped for a moment, taking her time to swallow the excess of saliva in her mouth making a loud slurp sound. 'But even it is insomnia why does he taste so good? there must be an explanation for this: magic residual effects on his body? mhhmm mhhm dragon's natural body secretions? maybe.... may... '
While Twilight's self-questioning went deeper her lack of sleep finally got and took the chance to knock her off, her mouth finally departing from spike one, after minutes of a symbiotic kind of state.
A year and a half later
It was a turbulent night in the streets of ponyville, once again the shenanigans of a pony made havoc against the village, the only exception in this case. was that a dragon was the responsible this time.
A dragon named spike, that happens to be sleeping in his basket at the moment, after a whole hour of cry and sorry's sent to the air. His best friend was still awake, watching with pleasure that he finally managed to get some sleep and rest; she proposed the idea of share the bed for the night, but he refused.
"I'm just another brute dragon... I don't deserve the love of this village of even yours... please just let me alone, that would be the best from all this village after I repair all this disaster, I'll be on my way to a cavern hidden in one of the corners of Equestria." Were the last words she managed to take from him.
Twilight composed herself in her haunches, waiting, she knew that after all the trauma and tears there would be another thing coming for his dragon. Spike shifting and heavy breathing only confirmed her assumptions. 'He is having a nightmare ' she thought, getting out of her bed and reaching to be close to him.
' Not on my watch young dragon ' her horn illuminated an alteration spell on her way to the dragon's dream ' you would not listen to me if I tell you now, but maybe if you thinks it's your self-conscious you will give me a chance. Spike, you aren't a brute neither a savage like most dragons, you are loyal, kind, generous, you are so honest with us sometimes that it even hurts '.
"And don't you ever say again that you don't deserve my love" she said with a mocking tone "you have been my best friend since I was ten, you were there for me every time you could, and even when I'm the oldest: I keep telling myself that at this rate you'll be the wife in the relationship for all the cares and spoils you gave me".
Twilight started to get even more close to him before she knew it their faces were inches apart, his heavy breath now were soft coos that landed on her muzzle. ' yeah... you could be my wife... you could be mine... ' Twilight's lips mimicked her thought while she was caressing Spike'lips. The little foreplay shifted to little soft peaks, which transformed into a soft tender kiss, which at the end evolved into a deep kiss.
After some tongue fondling spike's body started to flinch in a response to the activity against his sensitive flesh, making Twilight stop her advance and teleport to her bed. ' oh my dear Celestia THAT WAS CLOSE, maybe he didn't wa- '
"Twilight are you still up?" Spike's voice made her skin go white; luckily for her, the fur made it impossible for any creature to notice.
"Yeah... I'm just a little amazed with everything that happened today... for a moment I though you finally got some sleep"
"Actually Ii did, it was a short one, but it made me rethink some things... is that offer of sleeping with you still on sale?"
"Later for you Mr. now you have to pay me a king like breakfast if you want it" she joked, already moving aside to give Spike a place in the bed.
"Then we have a deal miss Sparkle" he said cheerfully, making his way to the soft warm spot left for him. Without thinking it twice he embraced Twilight, "I'm sorry for what I told you early. nevertheless, I want to be a better dragon for you and all of ponyville, and I promise you twi: this was the first and last time I let my instinct take a hold of my mind".
Spike's eyes were tender and full of determination, she just stared at them for a while smiling before giving him a soft kiss on his forehead.
"I'll look forward to it, now we better get some sleep, have a lot of work and repairs to do tomorrow".
"Have a good night Twilight, love ya".
"I love you too spike".
Twilight decided to enjoy herself for a long time before going to sleep. What those words really mean for us? she thought 'Spike I have never felt true love, and you have been so much time with me that I don't know if this is true love or.... necessity. Every time I took advantage of you, it feels almost unnatural, and those words, you are mine... '.
"you are mine, and mine only" Twilight muttered, a shiver crawling trough her whole body. ' Is so weird, and at the same time so exciting... maybe I should tell him... ' Twilight had her doubts, telling your best friend that you alter his dream's and take advantage of his unconscious body, not the best idea.' Perhaps the best could be to make some test first. what if it's some dragon magic making her move? '
Twilight yawned and shifted, getting more comfortable within the hug to sleep better. the next days are gonna be rough for her little assistant.
Her dragon.
What a couple of day's had been for Equestria: A wedding, a trap settled by an old evil enemy of the kingdom and a war between the local heroines and an entire insectoid race. At the end the wedding and party that happened after they won the fight let the bearers of the elements rather tired but happy nonetheless; but now that's a thing of the past, to be more precise,right now its half midnight in ponyville and all the guests are on their way back home to take a well deserve rest.
Except for a dragon, a worried dragon that moved his concerns aside while the celebration was taking place so his friend could enjoy the wedding party; but those concerns find their way back to his troubled mind as soon as they got home. In the meantime that friend, Twilight, was opening the door of their house, releasing a content sigh while making her way inside.
"Finally we are back, these last days had been crazy enough for me, how I wish to sleep and start a whole day of reading tomorrow" a drained Twilight cheered while making her way to her room, her head hanging low because of the fatigue.
"Twilight..."
"Be sure to close the door Sp-"
"I'm sorry for not listening to you..." Spike interrupted.
The unicorn's ears, that had been folded and tired, flicked, along with her ears something in her mind also clicked. Twilight's head quickly found her way up again, her expression lifeless and somber. Spike hugged his tail in anticipation of what will come for him.
"Thanks. I almost forgot to talk about that matter. You see Spike, I understand why the others didn't believe me" Twilight said patrolling in circles around Spike. "Celestia and Luna were too stressed with the preparations, the press, the guests, and who know what other things".
Twilight took a stand before him, her aura sending a cold shiver through Spike's spine "The girls had never known about Cadance till this day so the fact they didn't believe me was right for me at the end" she explained.
Twilight hold spike with her magic, turning him to face her, her eyes had recovered her bright, but were now covered in tears. "The only one I didn't understand was you, Spike, why you didn't believe in my words?" she muttered between sobs.
"Cadance is my sister Twilight, I-"
Twilight released Spike abruptly, making him fall to the ground, his hisses of pain echoing through the library "All the more reasons you should have guessed she was an impostor!" she shouted to him.
"I DIDN'T KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT CHANGELINGS!" he screamed, making twilight snap a tear which went unnoticed by the drake, "The only thing I knew was that my 'sister' was stressed. I couldn't talk properly with her because there was always somepony near her every time I tried, if I could have the chance maybe I would have guessed something was wrong!" he explained before calming himself.
"I knew about transformation spells but they can't fool the smell, changelings go far beyond that, Chrissalys smelled just like my sister..." Spike said, his eyes diverting from his best friend, "Do you know how hard is to keep a baby and an entire kingdom alone?".
Twilight was returning to her calm self, "why do you ask?" she responded with another question to the abrupt change of topic.
"Most of the time I needed to be with mom she was away doing politics and making Equestria a better place to her beloved ponies, so the only time I could be with her was at night, almost fifteen minutes before it was time to sleep"Spike took a pause," Je... most dragons are messy and angry all the time at that age, but not this one!" he declared with pride, "The only thing I craved was companionship and care in a world when no one looked like me... and everyone feared me like I was a monster. Cadance was the answer to my prays: She stood by my side most of my first years, she instructed me how to show love so no one would fear the beast they believed I was, and when she got to be an alicorn she thanked me, saying I show her that even the most feared race can be loved and trusted".
Spike hugged Twilight, seeing how she was on the verge of crumbling, "I love her as much I love mom. Thinking she was ponynapped or worse... I blocked myself of that thought, I just wanted the wedding to end and see my lovely sister back".
Twilight hugged him back, tears freely flowing down her muzzle "I didn't know... I'm sorry Spike, you have done so much for me, that I forgot you were not supposed to be with me, maybe if you have stayed with Celestia, Cadance wouldn't -"
Spike grabbed her muzzle, making her face him, "Don't you dare end that sentence!" he tightened the hug, " what is done cannot be undone, and even if I could go back in time I will choose you again Twilight. You gifted me life itself and that's something I'll happily pay to you for the rest of my life. And for your knowing, I've enjoyed most of my life as your assistant" he ended with a smile.
Twilight was sobbing uncontrollably, her mascara and fur were a mess of tears and sweat, but she didn't care, she was happy.
"Thanks, Spike... that's the sweetie's thing someone had said to me; from now on I know I can always count on you" she said between sobs, "let's get some sleep, my number one assistant".
It was another night at ponyville, the streets were mostly empty. It was a fresh night for the one's still wake up to enjoy it. A perfect night to share a snuggle and a hot cocoa, unluckily for the purple unicorn known as Twilight Sparkle, she will have only one of those two things tonight; but it was for a good cause, she had been sharing the help of his assistant with the other five bearers throughout the last two months, while giving some advice to them in order to test her doubts about Spike instinctive magic.
Meanwhile, in the village boutique, a fashionista and a dragon were sharing the bed, the pristine white mare was reluctant about the act at first, but two important factors made her change of mind.
The first one was that the said dragon, Spike the lovely assistant, had been helping her since early in the morning, cleaning the whole boutique, making all three foods plus desserts, taking care of the fabric and tools unused while the ones used were better organized than she would ever achieve, two massages worth enough to throw him in the spa with enough recommendation to put him in the VIP staff; and finally, he listed the pieces made, classifying them for date and client. Surprisingly they made the entire collection of two weeks of sales in one day.
'Now I understand why she got to be the best student of Celestia, with that kind of help every day the only thing to worry about would be studying... who knows, maybe he made her tests and essays too ' the opal furred unicorn named Rarity though, a little giggle escaping her muzzle. After some shifting, she found herself finally comfortable in the snuggle, now was the time she realized the heat, the kind of heat that your body craves after enduring cold for hours; the sensation was alien for her; after all, her home, and especially her room, had never been the one to get cold slip inside.
This was the second reason, the bed was so comfy and cozy that it made the single thought of getting up something unacceptable.
It was easy for her to confirm where the heartwarming heat was coming, she found herself astonished at first; when Twilight started this test on her assistant all the girls commented how Spike was a really comfortable partner to share the bed, but she never thought it could be this kind of sensation. It was not only the not ending heat (that to make it weirder it changed alongside her temperature, never overdoing itself, so sweat was no problem) but his tender scales, his soft and sweet breath, and finally the feeling of protection he emanated.
Apart from that anything else seemed unworthy of mention, not even that weird phrase.
"You are mine..." Rarity muttered, an uneasiness rolling in her mind, it sounded wrong, like something you would not say to a friend or a child in this case.
'Wait is he a child or a baby? Twilight told us he was a baby dragon some years ago, but not matter how I see it he doesn't seem's to be one... sure he has shown some childish attitudes and fears, but well if I had that stature while fighting monsters and villains capable of destroy Equestria, I would be scared too ' Rarity thought. letting the fatigue finally took her to sleep. The questioning could be made some other day, right now she and her little friend deserved a rest worth of two weeks of work.
Some days later
Dense foliage that barely let pass some light between them, trees and plants with minds of their own, predator's hives in every corner. This, is the Everfree forest, holder of the chaotic remains of the battle between discord and the royal sisters, the crumbling palace that once shined in the past, and also the place which influenced most of the nightmares of colts and mares since nightmare moon concealment.
It was safe to say that the forest had changed in the past 3 years, thanks to the local heroes of the kingdom that lived next door, most of the crumbling chaos magic had disappeared making the sentient plants less aggressive, and more importantly, less dangerous to the ones that dared to enter. The animals, on the other hand, hadn't changed in the slightest, so going with a guide was recommendable, a guide like the known alchemist zebra named Zecora, who's hut is placed not so far from the outskirt of the forest.
The bad thing is, that she couldn't make up to be a guide today, after all, she would be busy for the day, once her visitor decides to knock at the door.
'It has been quite a time since the bells had sung, but no knock from the one that outside got stuck ' she rhymed in her head.
Most of the citizen would not know, but Zecora had learned the patron of sounds produced by the forest when someone gets nearby to her hut; Something she had learned in order to know whether she need to be ready to fight a predator or to receive a visit.
A couple of knocks ceased the uneasiness of Zecora, "Zecora are you there? is me Twilight" she heard the familiar voice.
"Come in my friend, I hope to find you well in this day" she welcomed while Twilight was making her way inside.
"I hope I didn't interrupt something" she smiled, "but the girls proposed that you could be of help with a problem I have with Spike"
"Your assistant is in need?-"
"Well not exactly" Twilight interrupted, "let me explain: Some weeks ago I have seen some patrons and... reactions to Spike's body, I asked the girls to take care of him a day each, hoping they would see anything suspicious happening to him, but at the end they only find one thing in common, his body heat, which for some reasons is really pleasant to the touch no matter how cold or hot you are" she explained.
"By the way you say it, seems like you got short hoofed at the answer you were crabbing. may I ask what else you were searching?" she asked in a rhyme, her eyes focused in the potions near her workbench.
"Well, it's rather embarrassing to tell..." she responded, succeeding in the effort of being calm and not show any indication to the wise zebra. "I have read before that there are potion's capable of inducing someone into her primal instincts-"
"But what you'll need, has to be less risky" she interrupted Twilight before giving her a red potion which she grabbed with her magic. "I have an interest in the little guy too, so more information about dragons would be of my gratitude".
"Thanks for the help Zecora, and don't worry, if this work I would send you my reports as soon as possible" Twilight cheered before taking her leave home.
"I would hope your success then, and hope to see you again, as soon as you can" She exclaimed to the happy unicorn. She watched from the distance for a long time just in case, after all, the forest keeps being a dangerous place for a young pony.
"Well, well, I better go too, since my resources aren't what they used to" The wise zebra commented, grabbing a saddlebag and going her way to the deep forest in search for more ingredients.
It has been tree days since twilight's visit to Zecora, the potion had not been used yet because the subject for the test wasn't in home. Two days early while Twilight was arriving she found herself with Spike at the front door of their house library, finishing a letter to the princess.
"Sorry twilight, princess Luna needs my assistance, I'll be back in two days. I let your dinner near your workbench and I made some plates for tomorrow, you will only need to heat them" he said before giving her a hug and running away to Canterlot.
Being away from him some days is easy for her only if she doesn't have a big test in her schedule, which unluckily Celestia gave her that exact day. An essay discussing time space travel spells and the repercussion of their previously use in the present; trying to backtrack non-existent information like that required to use another time traveling spell, and a lot of confusing shenanigans, which ended in a stressed Twilight, a stack of thirty sheets of work and less cheese based Quesadilla.
Spike by the other hand only got two nights as a scribe, a work he was so used to that he found not trouble in the slightest. And just as he said, he got back to ponyville two days later, making a stop at Sugarcube corner once he arrived.
"Welcome Spike!" the pink hyperactive pony know as Pinkie Pie greeted him with a loud cheer, scaring Spike who had only opened the door a second before.
"Pinkie! you almost give me a heart attack!" he panted, taking a moment to compose himself, "It's good to see you, I've just got back from Canterlot and wanted to buy some cupcakes for my way home".
"Sorry Spike my pinkie senses were telling me a dragon was nearby and since no one was screaming outside I thought It could only be you" she explained while going to the back of the store.
"Wait do you have a sense for incoming dragons?".
Pinkie got back with a package of six cupcakes in her mouth, releasing the box in the counter she responded, "nah, just kidding, I watched you in your way here through the windows and the idea of greeting you like that popped in my mind" she ended with a smile.
"Well, at least you didn't welcome me with a pie in the face this time. How much it's for the box?".
"Three bits" She responded before Spike put the money on her hooves, "And don't be silly, even if I wanted I couldn't do that, cakes seasons ended a month ago!" she chirped, jumping her way to clean a dirty table close to the left corner of the store.
"Wait, Pinkie, cakes and pies don't have seasons... no wait I understand, you mean sell season right?".
"What do you mean? you know you can make them grow out of trees right?" she asked, confused about her friend unacknowledged.
Spike's sense of logic was screaming for help at this point, imploring him to be as far away from his friend as possible, "you know what? I'll just accept that fact and took my leave before you pop out an actual three that makes pies. I gonna go, is time to see how Twilight managed this two days alone".
"Bye bye Spike hope we can get another snuggle party like a month ago!" the hyperactive mare screamed to the dragon on his way out.
Spike face turned red at the memory of his previous encounters with the pink mare. 'Going out with her is nice, and she really knows how to cook, but... the tickles. too many tickles... ' he thought while a shiver ran through his spine.
After receiving the day with the reality intriguing shenanigans of the pink party mare, and now with confections at hand, Spike was ready to go back home; his entrance well received for a restless twilight. at first what he couldn't believe what he was looking, most of Twilight body had ink marks impressions, the shade of red in her eyes were proof of two straight days of work without sleeping, and not even rainbow dash could make a mess of hair worst than how it was right now; not the mention her unpleasant body odor.
"Twilight you look terrible!" he shouted, letting the box of confections in the ground and running to her side.
"Oh Spike, you are finally back, and those are cupcakes? perfect just the energy I need to finish the correction in these papers" she said with a raspy voice while taking a cupcake with her magic.
"No no no miss, you need to rest. Let me take care of the correction"the drake said before taking the cupcake out of his friends hooves " and no sugar for you, what you need is a nice cup of tea, a bath and some sleep" he said while making his way to the kitchen in order to make some tea.
"Don't worry Spike, there are only fifteen pages left so I can..." she drifted to sleep, " I can..." Twilight wake up jut to find that Spike was back already, and his claws were massaging her back, "um... I really needed one of those..." she cooed.
Spike's tender claws went for the back of her neck first, his thumbs moving and pressing in a circle motion; Twilight felt her vision blur, finally acknowledging her own fatigue and the fact she actually wasn't feeling her neck until he popped some knots out of there. Now that Twilight's neck was safe of a muscle cramp, Spike started his way down to her back.
"I can't let you sleep with all this tension, if I do, you will wake up with cramps all over your body" he explained, popping another couple of knots in the process.
"Ugh, there.. you haven't lost your touch while being away for a month.. or was a week? I don't know, time travel confuses me" she said between moans.
"It was just two days Twilight"Spike hissed, "you seriously you need to rest; don't worry about anything, I'll finish your work while you sleep" he said. A high pitched sound came from the kitchen, "your tea is ready, go upstairs and take a bath, your cup will be near your bed".
Spike little trot to the kitchen was interrupted by a sudden hug, "Thanks, number one assistant" she expressed in joy.
"Anything for you Twilight", Spike hummed.
The night took over quickly for the little dragon, after correcting the grammar errors of the first fifteen pages he realized that the other half of the essay were far from done. He ended his work after another hour of work and disposed himself to the couch, the new issue of the power ponies in claw. By ten o'clock he went to the kitchen for a little snack, but find a flask behind the box of cupcakes with the label 'For Spike' on it, too tired to ask first, he grabbed the flask and a cupcake and went back to the living room. Once there he noticed that Twilight was already awake and reading the papers he just finished correcting.
"That's more like the Twi I know. Double checking right?" he asked, noticing how Twilight appearance has improved back to her normal self.
"Yeah. now I noticed how much I needed that rest; by the way, the tea was delicious" she cheered.
"I'm glad to hear it, by the way... what is this flask? it has my name on it" Spike asked, showing her the potion Zecora gave her two days ago.
"Oh..." she panicked for a moment, "it's from Zecora... a test potion, if it works maybe you could grow a little more without the need of Greed" she improvised, to be fairs, she didn't know either what could be the effects of the potion.
"Sweet, I'll try it right away then" he said while making his way to the couch.
Several minutes passed away, the sounds of chews had ended, replaced by the sound of sheets passing. Twilight took a look at him, seeing at her little assistant who was inspecting his claws and body.
"You fell anything new?" she asked.
"Nope, the only difference is the sudden need I got to shut my eyes and go to sleep, aside from that, nothing" he responded before a yawn sliped away of his mouth.
Twilight organized the paper before putting them in a folder, "before you go to sleep, can you-" she stopped mid sentence, her eyes fixed on the dragon.
"Eh? send that folder to the princess? of course, give me a sec I have to be cautious when it's more than one thing at the time" he said, her flames burning the folder slowly.
Meanwhile twilight was flustered, watching the young dragon body ' His scales, I don't remember them being so beautiful, and his flames... they are so bright and colorful, is because of the potion maybe? no, it can't be, he said nothing seemed to change for him. '
Spike yawned again and flexed, popping some knots on his claws in the process, "holly molly I'm tired..." he said, his eyesight barely withstanding.
"Mind if I take you to bed?" Twilight asked with half lidded eyes.
"I wouldn't mind In the slightest..." he said, not noticing the seductive look in Twilight's face.
Without thinking it twice, Twilight mounted her little assistant in her back, the sudden touch giving an electric pleasure that ran through her spine. ' change of plans, you go to my bed mister dragon ' she thought before teleporting upstairs into her bed with him.
Twilight placed herself on her back, letting Spike rest on her body; the sensation amplifying by the second, his scales were not only sending heat, they were also sending an electrifying feeling. Spike by his part was already asleep, a dream already taking place in his unconscious mind.
"Fluttershy... that rabbit should be in tarta- hmp" Spike muttered before his lips were embraced by Twilight's ones.
"Spike... hmp" she relished, her horn charging a lucid dream on the drake before her own conscious slipped away.
"Fluttershy... hmp" Spike panted, "what are you... mmph ahg, doing?".
"Worry not my dear, the animal's won't tell our secret" Twilight said, taking advantage of the lucid dream to pretend she was Fluttershy.
"mphm... you promise not to tell anyone? Twilight would be mad if she finds you are doing this to me".
"Don't worry my little baby dragon, just enjoy yourself" Twilight assured.
Without warning nor hesitation, Spike took Fluttershy muzzle with his claws in his dreams, becoming the dominant one in the kiss.
'YES~ I'm finally mastering the lucid dream spell! and now he is kissing me back! and this time he tastes like strawberries and chocolate! ' Twilight shouted in her mind, feeling for the first time a truly shared kiss.
Spike's tongue took the initiative, making her way inside Twilight's mouth, her reptile muscle started to cover twilight's tongue, trapping it like a python would do to his prey; his tongue flicked and moved through Twilight's length.
'Oh my good Celestia, I can't feel my tongue... no is not that, my tongue is just an erogenous piece of meat now... and... and I love it! keep going Spike mmmph ' she thought in delight, 'oh right he can't hear the voices in my head '.
"Uhm... Spike, I want more... if you want to deepen the kiss that is" she impersonated her shy friend as best as she could while having her tongue tangled.
Spike didn't answer with words but with actions, her long reptile tongue going his way through all the corner of her mouth in swifts motions. At this point, Twilight was twitching in extasies while engulfing all the tasty saliva she could manage and fighting her way to get some oxygen; but even in that state her mouth never departed Spike's one... until he spoke again.
"Wait" Spike said between gasps, " flutter you hmph... you, you smell like Twilight" Spike shifted, his senses going back to reality because of the lack of air.
Spike last words brought back twilight for a second; taking account of Spike's shiftings and mumblings, she conjured the deep inducing sleep spell on him before he could wake up.
"That was a close one..." Twilight panted.
both of them remained exhausted for a moment, the heavy breaths were the only sound that could be heard in the library besides the cracks of the wood. After a minute, Twilight composed herself just because she realized the controversial spot where Spike's tail was placed, and how delightful was to be touched there.
"Celestia teach me how to say no to this... " she pleaded, her winking clitoris fore-playing with the near spear that was at her side.
"This is getting out of hooves, I need to stop myself before I made something forbidde-" she said before a loud moan escaped her mouth, "goodness this feels amazing... but I need... to stop... ahg... just one more thing... before I force myself to sleep".
Twilight took Spike into a deep kiss again, her hoof rubbing Spike tail up and down against her haunches, her tongue unrelentingly shoving herself inside Spike's mouth getting scratched by the dragon pointy teeth's, and her horn illuminating with another deep sleep-inducing spell.
" I'm so glad you came back today, I was already missing you" she praised, her magic ready to be cast.
"My dragon " she ended, the spell shocking her nerves with pleasure before placing her happily into sleep.
The sun shone through ponyville library once again, signaling the beginning of a new day; a signal that came alongside a sweet aroma coming from bellow her bed, was well received by a purple unicorn who moaned in delight while stretching herself.
"Twilight are you up? breakfast it's almost ready" The voice of her little assistant echoed through the house.
"I'm on my way Spike!" she replied, a sudden question popping in her mind while doing so, "did the potion change something in you at the end?" ' because I'm hell sure I enjoyed some of its effects last night ' she recalled.
"Nope, not even an inch taller, but I have to say I feel a little uneasy now, maybe it was the flavor, that potion surely tasted bad. Other than that I'm still sleepy"
Twilight got into the living room, making herself conformable while Spike served the food: hotcakes with honey and a cup of coffee for her, and a bowl of gems for him.
"Sorry, I wanted to make something better but we are running out of food and ingredients" he apologized.
"Don't worry, actually it's my fault for not taking care of the house while you were on Canterlot, let's go to the market after we eat"
He nodded and started to munch the gems with content; Twilight equally was happy for the food, but her actions make her look more desperate than delighted.
"You need to be more careful with the way you eat Twilight, It's a really bad habit of yours".
' I thought you liked it, since you seemed to be enjoying Fluttershy eating you out yesterday like I'm doing with my pancakes right now ' she thought before nodding, not noticing at first the seductive look she was showing.
"I'll try to correct myself. Now back to the previous... are you sure you don't feel anything else after drinking that potion?" her expression got back to her normal self while asking.
"Aside of the uneasiness? no, everything seems normal" he responded, taking his bowl to the dish.
'I'm sure something was different on him last night, but maybe It was my hormones... my estrus seasons is around the corner after all... For the meantime, I'll tell Zecora that the potion failed, or maybe I'll tell her it was only me seeing things from the beggining '
Twilight took a sip of her cup, savoring the remains of the food, 'What if all of this is because of my hormones since the beginning? I'm sure Spike dragon nature had something to do with it too, but, if he really was the only reason, the girls would have noticed ' she thought before getting to a conclusion, 'maybe it's time to seek myself a stallion, that would solve part of this mystery '.
Author's Note
I took more time that what i anticipated while making this one, aside for correcting it by myself, Twilight personality and her ways of doing things made me rethink the course of this chapter, but it ended three time's better than the original idea.
The north of Equestria, place where it lies the crystal empire, a place that was forgotten by time and ponies for a thousand years because of the ambition of a dark crystal and a powerful unicorn: the feared King Sombra, drowned the empire into oblivion a thousand years ago. Now, these are things of the past, the known local hero, Spike 'the brave and glorious' brought back the crystal heart where it belonged; marking the end of the cruel king almost three years ago when the forgotten kingdom rose from its slumber.
But how did the empire has been doing in these three years with their new benevolent rulers? "better than ever" the crystal ponies will tell you simply; and is hard to not believe them. Since their crystal nature and the properties of the empire are symbiotic, anyone that steps inside will notice the bright shine that covers the streets and structures of the kingdom; a shine that the crystal ponies transmit to their surroundings only when they feel happy or in love.
happiness that was unusually high in this day. The empire shined at least three times brighter than usual. Finding the reason behind of the unusual shine was not difficult for the common tourist.
"I love when the local hero visits the empire, makes the trip twice its worth" a gray tourist earth pony commented.
Just as the gray stallion claimed, the little purple scaled dragon know to the people as Spike the brave and glorious was visiting the empire alongside the six-month-old new princess of friendship and his best friend, Twilight Sparkle. To be more precise Twilight was the one visiting her sister-in-law Cadance, the princess of love and co-ruler of the land. Spike was needed to write a guide for the new cadets, with the help of two generals that came from Canterlot and shining armor, the second co-ruler.
The both princess were right now enjoying a little dessert while Twilight rested from the trip: Vanilla ice cream with Cherry top. The ice cream was a delight for the lovely Cadance, who noticed that while twilight seemed refreshed, she looked anxious.
"It's there something wrong my dear sister? you look concerned by something..." she asked while grabbing a handkerchief to clean her muzzle.
"No, it's nothing I- I'm totally fine"Twilight stuttered," I was just thinking how to start our little chat, haha, I don't know where to start, how had you been? how is my brother doing? had been some other troubles while we were at Ponyville? do your hormones calm after losing your virginity?"
Cadance lost her magic hold on the handkerchief for a second, grabbing it back just before it touched the ground. she felt astonished but happy nonetheless, "aaaw, Twilight!" she cheered once she composed herself, "I was hoping to have this kind of conversation since I got to knew you were dating flash sentry".
"Wait wait wait, did you know?".
"It is hard to keep secrets when you are a princess sweety" Cadance replied, moving the glasses to the center of the table, "Actually... this a little hard to digest..." she commented in a shameful tone, "I was expecting that you will wait at least two years before asking for this kind of chat".
Twilight shifted her fore hoofs together, feeling uneasy as for how the conversation was going,"well is just that... I don't know how to express it"
"Dear, just in case I'll ask: he isn't forcing you into nothing right?" Cadance asked, turning the conversation into a muttered chat.
Twilight eyes went wide, "no no, sorry if I give you a bad impression, but he isn't the one forcin-" 'oh crap ' Twilight reacted way too late to redeem her words.
"Twilight... I don't like where this is going... look I know that the estrus seasons are rough times for a mare in need and all, but you have to keep strong against it. And just for your knowing, your hormones will keep the way they are until you grow old" she explained, their faces inches apart.
A sudden couple of heavy knocks at the door frightened the gossiping sisters, a guard make himself present in the room soon after, "Miss Twilight, a message from your brother, he sent me to say that his work with Mr.Spike will be done in fifty minutes" the guard said.
"That's good to hear, and here I thought he will need to stay for the day, thanks for telling me guard" Twilight chirped, the guard saluting before taking his way back to his patrol.
Unknown to Twilight, Cadance had looked the entire scene with intrigue in her eyes; a couple of ideas started running through her mind.
'What was that? that shine in her eyes... no, no, I'm just seeing things, but- '
"It's everything alright Cadance?" Twilight interrupted Cadance line of thoughts.
"Eh... yeah, I was just thinking something Twilight... aside from the lack of intercourse, how had been your relationship with Flash?"
Cadance noted how the bloom on Twilight eyes vanished again, "Oh, well he is nice, a really hard worker officer, always trying to improve his skill, he is the over protective type of guy, well most of the guards I know are like that, and-"
"How has been your dates so far?" Cadance asked. Twilight was sensing that their conversation was turning more into an interrogation than simple gossiping.
"The first ones were really awkward, since we didn't know each other too well, by the third one we got to see a play in manehatan and then a walk at the park, most of the talk was made by him; the date afterwards was in Canterlot, at a convention about Starwill the bearded , he make me laugh at couple of times... but know that I think of it, we didn't chat too much in that date-"
"What do you like most of him by now?" Cadance said, before taking the glasses to another stand in order to clear their table.
"Well... I really like his... and... well he is really... wait, wait wait, why are you interrogating me so suddenly?" Twilight asked overwhelmed by the pressure.
Cadance took a deep breath before face turned more concerned, "Twilight, I'm just worried about you, as you may know, I am the bearer of the element of Love, and because of it I know a lot more of the matter... and what you have Twi... it doesn't seem to be love at all".
"What? we clicked since the beginning! well, we were humans back then, but either way, once I got here and meet him again we clicked twice! I don't think that could be a coincidence right?"
Cadance sighed heavily "Twilight... 'the click' is not the best example for true love... unless it keeps happening all the time. like for example..." Cadance kept for a moment thinking, "With Spike towards Rarity!" she clapped her hoofs together noticing a little twitch from Twilight's ears and eyes.
"Uhm" Cadance hesitated for a moment, "what I mean to say, my dear Twilight, is that I'm really concerned about your feelings with Flash and that I know of a spell that could bring me the answers you need".
"A spell? like what? a mind reading one? is a memory searching one? an-"
"Don't worry my little sister, my spell will only focus on the things you feel" she assured.
Twilight shifted a little in concern, Cadance was about to dig into her mind... who knows what she could find. 'wait ' she paused in thought, this was Cadance after all, she shouldn't worry. If someone could help solve her conflicted thoughts, that would be her dear sister without a doubt.
"Alright Cadance, I'll trust you" Twilight smiled, "Besides, if I don't solve this now, maybe this could shoot back to me in the future..."
Cadance cheered and snickered in joy, "Thanks, I'll make you proud of your decision" she claimed before charging her horn, "now hold still, and don't worry if I start making weird sounds".
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked intrigued but found not answer coming from her sister, The magic was already in work.

Cadance and Twilight stood in silent for a moment; from then on Twilight just watched how Cadance shifted, frowned, laughed, sighed and hummed. After what seemed like an eternity for the purple unicorn, Cadance face turned into a heavy frown, like she was in deep concentration, and then something within the spell clicked, and her face rose in joy again.
The joy turned in quite moans after a couple of seconds, then the moans turned into sobs, joyful sobs filled with laughs. After fifteen seconds Cadance got silent.
"It seems like you are done with the spell. how-"
Cadance took a huge breath, her fur flickering, a whole shiver running her whole body. "Oh... dear!" she moaned loudly, Twilight launched a sound barrier spell around the room on instinct.
"Hey dude did you just heard that?" the left guard next to the door of the room where Twilight and Cadance were talking said.
"What?".
"I don't know, it sounded like a moan" his face got red before he continued, "a loud one...".
The other guard sighed and faced him, "look, bro, you really need to get a mistress, all this stress is consuming your senses" he suggested him.
"Yeah, maybe I'm just seeing things... sorry bud, won't happen again"
Back inside the room, Twilight purple fur had shaded so redly because of Cadance actions that she could be confused as big mac lost sister. Cadance by the other hand was in a euphoric paradise, her eyes had long ago lost her shine and focus, her wings were spread out, her tongue was lolling out and leaving a trail of drool that reached down to the table and the floor. The only thing that signaled she was still alive were her constant moans and groans of pleasure followed by her heavy breathing.
"Oh, my goodness, this is..." Cadance finally spoke again, signaling that she still held consciousness, "Twilight who... how... oh my dear mom! this is too much- I thin- i".
Suddenly Cadance got stiff, her head turning back to the point she was seeing the door behind her; Twilight could hear a series of squishy sounds coming from bellow the table they were sharing. At this point, the purple unicorn was on the verge of fainting because of the shame of seeing the image she held with such pride of her sister crumble into tiny pieces.

Cadance slowly awake and tried to compose herself of her previous climax, "sorry you saw that Twilight, is the first time this happens to me, and believe me I had lost count on how many times I had used that spell". Cadance put her tiara on the clean side of the table and grabbed the closest hair comb she could find in order to repair her now fuzzy mane.

A moment of silence was shared between both mares, Cadance was trying hard to put all the pieces in place about what she just felt. Twilight by her part was in an internal frenzy; her sister just felt what she had, all the happy and sad times she had experienced; but at the last moments, Cadance showed other feelings... feelings that weren't associated with her current acquaintance.
"You should end your relationship with Flash Sentry." Cadance declared coldly with her eyes locked on Twilight every move and reaction.
Twilight couldn't handle the sudden seriousness of the matter, "What, no wait... what did you-".
"Who is the other stallion? or mare if is the case" Cadance interrupted.
'She... she knows... well looks like she doesn't seem to know everything. Wait, Twilight, this is your dear sister Cadance, if someone can help you find your true feelings towards Spike, she is the mare! ' Twilight though, feeling hope rise within her before giving her sister an answer, "he is a friend of mine since a long time... I lost the count on how many times he had been there for me".
Cadance put the hair comb and her tiara where they belonged, and then grabbed a mop and proceeded to clean the floor "You both have been doing things in bed that I have only achieved a couple of times in all the time I have with your brother... I'm a little envious I must say" she said playfully, "so... is a stallion then. tell me what you love about him".
"What?" Twilight asked shocked, her sister giving her a knowing look. "I... I love his devotion, his passion for helping others, sometime's I ask myself how he isn't a bearer of the elements; he can also be a little sarcastic or rude too sometimes, but that's a part of him I wouldn't change for anything in the world" Twilight claimed with pride, realizing at the end what she meant.
"Oh, my goddess" she discovered the feelings behind her previous words. Tears flew through her muzzle as the realization sunk in her psyche.
"I'm so happy for you Twilight" Cadance stated, making her way to the door, "you know, I was worried for a second..."
'Please don't be him '
"I thought for a second we were talking about Spike-"
A purple silk of magic enveloped the door, sealing it down from both sides.
'So is him after all ' Cadance sighed.
"What do you mean with that?" Twilight asked, her tone more heavy than usual.
"Twilight please tell me that this is a stallion."
Twilight got up from her seat, her frown indicating her uprising rage "he is a male yes".
"Twilight, you need to be clear to me".
"Why? I can't love someone from another species?".
"You know damn well what I mean" Cadance stated, "Please... please tell me you didn't fall in love with my brother!"
"What happens if I do?" Twilight's mane started to rise up in the sky. "I know there is secrecy about him and his royal status, but-".
"Twilight you can't be with him! he is your friend since you two were foals, you both raised together. You are like a sister to him!" Cadance shouted at the verge of tears.
"Is not like that!" Twilight shouted back, tendrils of fire travelling through her mane, "even when we are so close, we always have seen each other like best friends; I don't care what society will think of us, he was the one who chose to stay by me side for the rest of our lives, and for all I care He.Is.Mine ".
"Twilight he has been taken already!" The shout echoed deep through the sealed room, followed by Cadance sobs and whines.
Twilight mane started to flare his way back down "what... no no no, he would have told me, Celestia would have told me. You would have told me ".
Cadance sited on her haunches, looking down while her tears freely escaped her eye sockets, "Celestia said nothing to him about it, Luna and I are the only ones who knows about this..."
"Wait, so he doesn't know? that's unfair Cadance! you of all ponies should be against something like that!"
"Twilight there is almost nothing we can do, Saddle Arabia had helped us in our moments of need with the only condition of giving Spike to them; how do you think we raised an entire kingdom kept in the shadow for a thousand year, we didn't have food, water, electricity, not even guards since all of them were still scared. And don't think the fight we had with the changeling was cheap either".
"So what? it doesn't change anything! we can pay them back whatever they gave us".
Feeling incapable of moving to her side, Cadance teleported all the way over to Twilight, lunging her into a sobbing hug.
"Twilight you don't understand, it could mean war for us... they already claimed how far they will go for him... "
"They don't deserve him... no, I will not let this happen!".
"Twilight, I love that you want to go that far for my brother, and I know the feelings you have shared with him but-"
"It's a long history that I will tell you on another time, but for now I will tell you this: he doesn't know what we have done"
"Hold on a moment, what? no no, we can discuss that in another time; either way, Twilight, he hold feels for your fashionista-"
"That changed too, he may not tell any of us, but he cares deeply for the girls and me..." Twilight released herself from the hug, "So Rarity isn't the only one I need to care about for that matter" she said with a smile.
Cadance tears were back with joy, The resolve of Twilight bring hope to the vote of true love she felt to this day breaking. After composing herself, she faced Twilight with the same self-confidence.
"It will be a difficult path my fellow princess, but I'll do whatever I can to find a way to help you get Spike out of those ponies hoofs without getting us involved in a war"
Twilight got confused for the sudden approval "Wow, so you are going to help me?"
"Of course! after all, there is no much we can do now, for what I felt about you two, you may have tainted his chastity by now right? and that is one of the requisites the rulers from Saddle Arabia demanded intact" She explained, leaving Twilight in more confusion.
"What do you mean? Spike and I are still virgins".

Cadance wide eyes remained open, her chest signaling that she had stopped breathing too; The declaration was too heavy for her to bear. Luckily a couple of knocks from the outside brought her back to her senses.
"Twilight are you done? I already finished the book, let's go home, I promised Pinkie to help her with a special order today!" Spike shouted from the outside.
"I think is better if we keep this conversation for another time" Twilight said, giving a departure hug to her beloved sister in law, "and I'm sorry for shouting at you, I got a little outraged hehe" she kissed her cheek before leaving.
Soon after the princess of friendship and her assistant departure, Cadance husband entered the room, looking in his way inside at her shocked wife.
"It's everything alright honey? you look bewildered by something, did my sister talked to you about complex quantum physics or something?"
"I think I should start learning about transmutation spell first..."
"What did u..." Cadance grabbed her husband with her magic and carried him while she trotted outside the room, "WHERE ARE WE GOING?"
"TO THE LIBRARY, MIND IF I TEST SOME SPELLS ON YOU TODAY?" she shouted euphorically before pulling him towards her sultry face, "I promise I will compensate it to you later".
Shining armor swallowed a huge knot in his throat, "anything for you, my princess..." he replied a little uneasy, today is gonna be a no legs day for him again.

Well well well, I thought at first this chapter will be divided into three scenes, but after how well the first one got, I decided that this only scene will compensate for the feelings and plot I wanted to deliver.

Chapter 4: A helping claw
A whole year and a half had passed in Equestria since Twilight confession to her sister, a bunch of things had happened through the year, but the ones that would be marked in the books of history are the now official bringers of friendship and the new castle of friendship, both of them living in the same place, Ponyville. A place that seemed the main attraction for disasters.
Either way, the ponies of the mentioned village didn't bother about the usual mishaps that endangered their peaceful life every two or three days; it was a common thing for them by now. The fact they had a shining crystal castle and one princess living in their village was worth enough to have more shenanigans than usual as a pay off.
But that's for the citizens; what about the former bearers of the elements? and the now committed princess of friendship?
The bearers of the elements actually took well their new responsibility with Equestria, it will be rough to keep their work and life as usual with the new commitment that they have made with the land, that's for sure, But they took the opportunity to defend their beliefs and loved ones with open hoofs.
The princess by the other hand? she had mixed feelings about the matter... After all, she was a mare of studies, a mare that loved to stay in her home reading her books while her assistant pampered her comfy life; not get it wrong, Twilight Sparkle is a mare that also loves challenges, so having the responsibility of spreading friendship and harmony was something she would put on her to do list without even thinking it.
The real problem was the castle... Sure she was a princess, but she had never liked the title, never felt like something for her before, and there is a long road for her to accept it. The castle changed that road into an electric ladder; a broke electric ladder which was fast enough to broke Twilight's will.
Luckily for her, her best friends noticed her struggling and decided to giver her a present to remind her who she really was and the memories that made her what she is today. The present being tearfully well received for both her and Spike, which also was feeling shocked with the sudden change of phase in their daily life.
In compensation, Twilight imposed herself to be more ready in case Equestria needed them.She started working on notes, list, books, anything that could help them solve a friendship problem in the future, obviously that included the addition of more handy spell to her collection.
Spike by the other way had to appeal to other methods in order to help his friends now they were covered with more work than ever. his solution? he made up his mind to give a claw of help whenever they would need it. An altruist decision of course, but his plan lacked something primal: his friends needed to know about his disponibility on the matter; so he thought of a way to kill two birds with a stone.
He decided to share his help as an assistant for each of them in the week in compensation for their present, one for each day, and while doing it he would have the chance to tell them about his disponibility in case they need to go on a friendship mission.
Ten on the morning at Ponyville One Day Spa, commonly this was a transited hour in the spa since the time was perfect to get ready for some event, because of it, the sauna, mud bath, and hooficure rooms are used to be filled to the brim at this hour, today being not exception, but what about the other services of the spa? especially, the massage one. Well at this hour this was one of the less used, and a rainbow colored mane pegasus knew she could use the situation to get herself a good care of her morning cramps without a pony knowing about it.
Now now, don't think this will be another normal day for Rainbow Dash, because the ticket in her mouth plus her content smile tell otherwise. Luckily for the cyan pegasus, there was a special deal in the spa just for regular clients: a full body massage for half the price, with the only condition that the masseur was a promising amateur and not someone of the staff; it was a risky deal that's for sure, but Rainbow is the kind of mare that likes to take chances.
Unfortunately for her, she is also the kind of mare that doesn't now how to handle 'embarrassing situations' that could taint her awesomeness, just like her current situation, which had the form of her purple drake friend waiting on a chair inside the special offer masseur room.
"SP- Spike... am, I was looking for... eh..." Rainbow Dash was at loss for words, she needed more time to make a good excuse.
"Don't worry Rainbow, your secret is safe with me" Spike assured her, "have to say I was waiting for Fluttershy... the staff told me that you could come too so that's why I'm not impressed".
The drake got up of his seat, "The spa twins had been asking me to work here for a while so I thought I could give the place a chance, and here I am, had to work with two celebrities early in the morning, I think one of them was a Canterlot mare, a food critic of rename" he explainied while massaging his claws.
Rainbow Dash recovered from her stunned state, "Wait wait, you are the masseur? Jaja! your non-draconic skills always surprise me, little runt" she said before partaking of the room, "sorry Spike but I rather take my hoofs worked from someone that doesn't know me like you do".
"Eh? well, don't worry" he said after putting a mischievous smile on his face "I'll just wait for someone more worthy of my tender claws".
Rainbow stopped at the entrance, something on those words bothered her.
"Maybe Applejack is more worthy of my skills" the drake added.
And then it clicked, Rainbow turned to face Spike, her eye signaling she would not let her pride being smothered.
"That's enough little squirt, I know you are just an amateur, so your pity words have no effect on me".
"Oh, are you sure? then just go and ask anymare in the building what will they do for one of my massages, if they tell you I'm really that bad, then I'll pay for every order you make today" he stated his bet with a smuggle smile.
Not wasting a second, the cyan pegasus dashed her way through the whole building asking every mare she laid her eyes on, she even asked the staff members. After two minutes she got back to Spike's location; her eyes diverted from the dragon once she made herself present, a bright blush shading her muzzle.
"Em, I just asked every mare in the building..." Rainbow muttered hard enough for Spike to hear, her eyes facing and diverting from his face from time to time, after a moment of silence she grabbed the order check she left earlier on her way out of the room "Does my ticket still... I mean you want to... ".
"Get yourself comfortable in the bed at the other side of the curtains, I'll go wash my claws and get some oil" he suggested, his words hinted a level of self-proud and victory.
Spike turned down a switch near him before going to the backroom while Rainbow made her way to the afford mentioned bed. Now that she was most calmed she could take on account the details of the room. usually, the Spa rooms were painted in light pink that shaded to blue at the bottom, but this special room had been painted in orange which shaded down to pink. The lights, which changed after Spike turned the switch of the room, were dimmed down enough to give a red tint to the environment. Also, there were from four to nine transparent silks hanging from the roof.
"The style of this room was made with the intention of giving the clients privacy without making them feel like inside a black box, that's the simple way to explain it" Spike said to his friend, which mind was so focused in the decorations that she didn't notice Spike had come back a while ago, carrying with him two oil bottles.
"Well actually that is a good detail for me, I really don't want any of our friends knowing I like this kind of stuff" she commented, a sudden idea popping on her mind, "hey Spike, you wouldn't be trying to woo me don't cha?" she teased.
Spike's cheeks turned a light hint of red, "Of course not! ... sorry for yelling... but that is not the reason I offered myself today" he stated while covering the backside of his friend with a towel.
"So there is a reason you are working here today Mr. 'man about spa' " she joked.
"man about spa? what did they tell you?" Spike asked while getting some oil into his claws.
"Let's just say that I have to keep an eye on some foal players for you..." Rainbow eyes shut wide open when her words echoed through her mind "Spike, what I mean with foal-" her words were interrupted by the warm touch of Spike claw through her back legs.
"Eh? here too? and I thought I was safe outside the crystal empire" he sighed, "and don't worry, I already now about that matter".
After covering Rainbow's legs in oil, Spike started to knead her knees, going his way down to the base of her hoofs, muffled moans escaped from The cyan pegasus mouth as Spike's thumbs rubbed in and out of the center of her hoofs.
"Wait... you know about... inter... intrer-" Rainbow tried to find the words between groans.
"intercourse, or sex to put it bluntly" he interrupted, making his way to rainbows left leg, "yeah, I had sex ed some years back".
"but you are like... like eleven years old, right? how come you already had... wait a minute now that I remember, you... ow man that claws of you feel so damn good!" Spike stopped abruptly after that scream of pleasure, "sorry for that... like I was saying, shouldn't you be studying with Scootalo and the others?".
Spike got back to his senses, and put his claws on work again, "I have been your friend for four years and now is that you make that question?" Rainbow Dash raised her elbows, enough for her to explain she didn't bother to think of it in all these years.
"I graduated from college when I was younger, from that point I learned to cook, organize, play piano, being a scribe, and finally I got to be Twilight's assistant" he explained.
"Well... seems like you are cool at your own manners... by the stars... your thumbs..." Rainbow complimented between heavy breaths, the drool tainted pillow, and her half-lidded eyes signaling Spike's expertise. Luckily for Spike, Rainbow is not the kind of mare that'll do the math about the gap between his age and the amount of knowledge he has.
Rainbow laid down on the bed, eyes closed and heavy breathing, the pillow she was using on the floor covered in drool. Spike just had finished massaging her wings.She was grateful to hear minutes ago from Spike that the walls of this room are soundproof; because the moans and whines that escaped her mouth could ruin her reputation for the days to come.
Spike by his part, had just entered the room again with some water and a hay sandwich, he knew full well that his friend will need something to refresh all the body's liquid she wasted. Wasting no time he handed her the water and let her sandwich on a stand that was nearby.
"So... I just recalled that I didn't explain to you why I planned this out today" The little 'amateur' said scratching the back of his head, "I wanted to thank you all girls for giving that present for Twilight, and at the same time I wanted to propose you something for each of you".
The joyfully resting pegasus just nodded to his words, signaling Spike to continue, "Since you girls are going to travel around Equestria any given day for your new missions, I compromise to held a claw for you if you need something to be made while you are out of Ponyville".
Rainbow sat up and proceeded to drink the water like she just ran a marathon, Then she grabbed the sandwich and took a little bite before speaking again.
"Thanks, I always knew I can trust in you for anything buddy, but being told of it make's it better" she took another bite of the sandwich.
Spike give her a toothy smile, "I'm glad you liked my present and accepted my compromise, now, I was thinking actually about helping you in any kind of thing you had in mind today".
"Uhm? well actually I don't have anything else to do today, Probably gonna go get a good nap ... well, there is one thing I'll want you to do... " Spike got near her in expectation, "Could you... evade me in the next coming Wednesday?" she asked blushing.
"Uh? why?" Spike asked with arched eyebrows.
"Let's just say that you have to be careful with me from now on in those days..." she muttered in shame, "like you are with the crystal mares" Rainbow buried her flustered face with her wings, "please don't think of me as a weirdo, it's your stupid tender claws fault, I promise, I'm not into little squirts".
"Well, this is not the first time this happens with someone that receives my massages. Don't worry Dash, I would never think bad of you" he reassured her, putting Rainbow at ease.
Dash composed herself, and after a couple of seconds resumed to eat her food, Spike noticed this was a good moment to leave, so after switching the light up to normal, he went to the door.
"Well Rainbow, I'll take my lead then," he said while opening the door, "oh, and about me waiting for Fluttershy, that was a setup, I was actually waiting for you to come to the spa".
Rainbow stopped herself mid-bite, "you cheeky and smarty little squirt; I was your target since the beginning, well played Spike well played", she spoke from inside the room to the a smiling dragon that was on his way out of the building.
Spike's quest on helping his friends continued in the two days afterward, Rarity and PinkiePie gladly greeted his help with open hoofs. Must say it wasn't comfortable for Rarity at first, Spike intents of wooing her in the past made herself doubt of his behavior, so to put his words to test, she commended him with the labor of taking cares of the crusaders while they were traveling to Zecora's place.
'Now to think of it... I just sent a child to take care of the crusaders... ' she thought in retrospective, 'well, it was safer than choosing pinkie for the job ' she shrugged.
In any case, Rarity took a good decision, oh so it seemed since her sister and friends returned without a scratch and didn't run into the 'CMC made havoc in Ponyville' routine this time.
Pinkie Pie had a different plan for Spike; unluckily for the dragon that only expected to help her in cleaning the store and backing some good, he was asked for snuggles... a lot of snuggles.
"Too many snuggles" Spike rubbed his elbows while uncontrollably shaking, recalling the events of the previous day while making his way to the Apple's orchard, "I had never found a better example for the phrase: too much of anything is bad for your health".
The little drake was in her way to help Applejack, knowing how she would react because of her personality, he decided to go to do his favors before she could even say no. A few yawn came from him every couple of minutes, after all, waking up this early was the only real challenge he expected today.
A half hour had passed, and Spike had already cleaned the entrance for the barns and the orchard. He didn't want to wake up any other member of the family this early, that's the reason he started with simple work that could be made outside.
Another half hour had passed and the little assistant had already cleaned the rotten apples of two sections of the orchard when something got his attention, the CMC clubhouse door was open. Wasting no time he got inside to check everything was in order, the little rodents and bats hiding in the place, Spike supposed that the girls forgot to close the door properly.
"Sorry guys but you need to get out. If you want someplace warm to sleep go ask Fluttershy" Spike shouted inside the room, soon after the animals were out of their hideouts, "like I said, sorry, but believe me, you don't want to hear the screams of three little fillies once they run inside here".
Most of the animals were gone after a couple of seconds, Leaving at their trail a rotted scent, Spike disposed himself to get the house cleaned, ' well I didn't expect this. But I still have two hours before granny wakes, and two and a half for Applejack if my suppositions are correct. ' he thought.
The sun shines in Equestria once again, giving a warm morning welcome for all the hard working ponies in the land; making an exception for the Apple family, that were currently in their living room, astonished by their current situation: most of the labors each member need to do today had already been made.
"All the books and registry had been filled with the orders we sent yesterday" The old granny smith expressed.
"All the cider barrels have been cleaned and are already stacked" the red farmer stallion big mac commented.
"The barns are already clean, the orchard grass had been cut and I couldn't get the glimpse of a single rotten apple in miles".
"Oh, oh, and the dust at the entrance of the farm was already brushed off too!" The little yellow filly Appleblom interrupted her older sister.
"Well there is still the east side of the orchard, I haven't looked there yet; but by the looks of it, Granny and Applebloom are task free for today" Resumed the orange mare applejack.
"Eeyup".
"Let's go, Big Mac, you can handle the south section of the orchard, I'll go check the east and tell you if I found anything suspicious" the cowmare said before taking her signature stetson hat.
Spike laid resting his back on a tree in the middle of the east section of the orchard, a rake was resting on his legs; the little dragon was snoozing soundly and a few mumbles about the power ponies escaped from his mouth from time to time.
The farm was a quiet place at these hours of the morning, only the sounds of chirping birds and wood being hit in the distance could be heard throughout the peaceful orchard.
...
And the sound of a snickering orange farmer who couldn't hold herself after seeing how adorable the young drake looked.
"Say wot? hu," Spike awoke, "may I help you? ahm... Applejack?"
"Tell me if I'm wrong, but, haven't you help me out enough for today?" she asked, getting the rake out of his feets, "how long had you been working?"
"Since... two of the morning..." he spoke between yawns, "Actually I wanted to help you carry the apples back to the farm too, and... and tell you something impo..." he dozed off.
Applejack smiled at his gesture, "Don't worry Sugar cube, I'll make sure to let you a cube of your size ready for you to handle".
Applejack started his work while Spike rested from his hard work. After bucking the apples out of the trees for a couple of hours her mind drifted in thoughts while her muscle memory handled the rest of the work.
¡ I can't believe it has been two years since Spike tried to help me this much. If somepony had told me it was him who made all this I would have laughed my hat off ' Applejack filled the fourth and last of her cubes, 'Well maybe I would have believed those words, Twilight told me that Spike wasn't his usual self that time I saved his life and he became my servant for a day ' .
Applejack took a moment to watch the peaceful view filled with apple trees and use her hat to refresh herself. 'It felt so weird when he told me those words... 'your wish are my command', it made my whole mind crumble for a second in a sickening way, that backrub he gave me later didn't help either... ' she thought.
"Everything ready AJ? I already got my load for the trip back to the barn" Spike said behind her back, startling the farmer for a second.
"Holly! Spike you scared me," she told him with a little jump, the sudden scare transforming into panic once she saw Spike holding two full buckets on his back, "Spike Don- wait..." she noticed Spike wasn't even struggling with the weight, "wait, how you can? you couldn't even with half bucket two years ago!" she exclaimed.
"Eh? oh, well that is one of the things I wanted to tell you: you see, I wasn't in my prime back in the day those Timberwolves attacked me".
"What do you mean?"
"Let's get these apples to the farm, I'll tell you along the way".
Applejack went for a bucket for herself. Her friend strength and words slowly making sense on her mind, after all, he had shown this strength in the past, all the luggage Rarity constantly gives him to carry are so heavy that at least three stallions are needed to properly handle them. And Not only that, but his actions were different from the ones two years ago. Back then he even wasn't able to move without making a mess on the barn; but now, he made the majority of the shores of her entire family before dawn.
"Well like I was trying to explain, that day the timberwolves went for me, I was in the effects of a potion".
"A potion?" Applejack asked, noticing now that her muscle memory got her alongside Spike in their way back to the barn.
"Yes, it was a potion that Zecora give me two years before, she after told me that the elixir could force my instincts, the plan was to use it to get my body to grow to his current age, but the potion didn't work. She asked me later to try another one made by her, which didn't work either. the brew made my feets smelly, and it clouded my mind for three days; and well, the fact that Twilight didn't focus when I told her that I was going to live with you and just nodded to my words... it hit me hard... I felt dispensable... like I could go out of yours life and you and the girls wouldn't even notice it".
"Ow Spike, I'm sorry to hear that, I didn't know you were going through all those troubles that day" And I just screwed it more for you, trying to get you off me like that... she felt guilty. Both of them were near the barn by now.
"Don't worry Applejack, it was my fault for trying that elixir again, but I have to say it was a weird day, both Twilight and I forgot how to fight against wood creatures" he laughed off.
After getting the buckets of apples inside, Spike explained his gratitude and compromise himself to help her if she needed it, which Applejack accepted right off the bat. Knowing that Spike will give her a claw of help while she is away meant that she could forget her worries about hiring someone to work on the farm.
"Well Spike I'm really grateful for your help today, but I cannot let you help me more, it just don't feel right for me".
"Don't worry AJ, I understand, actually that was the reason I get to do all that work early in the morning, knowing how you are, you wouldn't accept my help from the beginning" he said with a toothy smile.
"Aw chucks don't you say that. I know I'm a little stubborn but..." Spike raised his hand, signaling there was no problem, "ok, so what now little assistant guy? gonna get some rest after waking up so early?"
"Nah, is still morning and I have a lot of energy after that nap. I'm gonna see if I can help Fluttershy with anything, she is the last one on my list after all".
"Then do me a favor and say hi for me when you get there" she said, giving her goodbyes to the little dragon, "And don't you ever think again that we could live without you, Spike!".
"Don't worry, that idea will never cross my mind again!" Spike waved goodbyes back.
The outskirt of Ponyville, a thin line of road defining the border of the village, as simple as that... if not by the wonders it had, or better say the wonder that connected to the village. From the sinister and mysterious Everfree forest, going through the gem mine filled to the brim with shining rocks of all kind, to the multiples beautiful places to look the landscape, and finally: Fluttershy's cottage.
Lying next door to the Everfree forest, for the comfort of the wild needy animals, the nature covered, light brown wood made cottage laid around homes made for animals of every kind, most of them for little ones: rodents, birds, marsupials, and at least one bear. The cottage's entrance consisted in a bridge a top of a little river, again for the comfort of thirsty animals; entrance which was actually to the brim of rats and squirrels.
'how weird, it's not common to Fluttershy have animals at the entrance ' Spike asked himself, realizing after some seconds that those were the critters he found in the clubhouse in the morning.
Soon after the owner of the house made herself present outside, carrying a hoof-made nest in her mouth and a look that could give Rarity a heart attack. Her hairs and fur were sweaty and messy, besides of her physical appearance, she looked distraught and tired.
Spike got to her side as soon as he noticed how she looked, "Fluttershy you look horrible!" he took a sudden pause to think about the meaning of those words for a second, "sorry, the fatigued and tired kind of horrible" he corrected.
"Oh, Spike, how good to see you here, I really need your help right now!" Spike got firm, posing as a soldier on duty, "These little ones came here in the morning asking for my help, seems like some predators ruined their homes and they need new nests. The problem is that once I end with them I will need to go to the market to replenish my supplies" the Shy pegasus explained.
"Actually, these animals were in the CMC clubhouse, I was the one that told them about you, so this is part of my fault..." Spike stated with a sheepish smile, "tell you what! I have a better idea, I'll make their nests while you go and get refreshed and then I'll take care of everything while you go to the market".
"That sounds di-" a heavy tummy growl interrupted the now red pegasus.
"Yeah, you can go to Sugarcube while you are at it, Don't worry I'll handle everything, and don't mind for the nests I have read some books about them and learned how to do it, just in case I will be needed for winters wrap up" he said while walking inside the house with Fluttershy.
Once they got inside, Spike noticed the high amount of animals inside, all thrashing around the house relentlessly.
"These animals live where the timberwolfs are currently hunting, I offered my place to stay while they wait for the night" Fluttershy explained, "that's the other reason I look so bad. I'm going to the bath Spike, hope you have no troubles".
"leave it to me flutters".
It has been four hours since Fluttershy took her way to Ponyville, her simple journey to eat and buy stuff got longer than she expected because of the antics of three little fillies in their search of a baker Cutiemark, and her shy attitude towards multitudes in the marketplace. But now that she took her social interaction dose for the day, she was on her way back to her cottage, finding with gusto that all the animals in the entrance were gone.
And she also found the unpleasant sound of silence, the kind of silence you don't expect to hear unless something unimaginable happens. Moving her hoofs faster than her thoughts could, she trotted inside the house. Once inside, she found herself disturbed, most of the animals were resting awake, while other watched the sleeping figure in the center of the living room.
"What is this? how he managed to get them to be peaceful?" she asked quietly most for herself. After not founding another answer that the constant snoozing, she approached the sleeping dragon, noticing how cute he looked because he was sleeping in the form of a ball while his claws grabbed his own tale.
' Poor dear, maybe he is working since early night... the poor little thing looks so cute ' she thought, her tender hoof reaching to rub Spike's back, 'oh, aren't you a cozy dragon, if you were a stallion all the fillies would be crazy to touch your warm fur '.
After some time, Spike woke up from his slumber, feeling the alien sensation of soft yellow hooves around him instead of the fresh air of the afternoon, he moved his eyes upwards, recalling the previous events of the day when he recognized Fluttershy being the one hugging him. Fluttershy noticed the little movements between her grasp and looked down to his friendly dragon.
"Oh, sorry did I wake you up? I'm so sorry, it's just that you looked so cute and I... I couldn't resist..." Fluttershy muttered with a blush.
Spike yawned as a response,"Don't worry flutters, I'm used to this, It's kind of a habit of twilight" he added before a sudden realization hit him.
' Wait, is normal for her to hug me like this?, Fluttershy thinks I'm a kid after all, but except for Pinkie Pie especial case, is not normal for a mare to hug a stallion like this ' he thought, "Hey Fluttershy, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, go on" she instructed without noticing she had tightened the hug a little.
"It's normal for a princess to snuggle like this with a stallion? given the stallion is just a friend"
"Why do you ask? It seems too serious to be a hypothetical question Spike"-
"The thing is that Twilight really likes to give me this kind of hugs sometimes... and I don't know how other would see it if she keeps doing it after I get old" he explained.
Fluttershy took a moment to consider his question, the answer forked in different ways given the mare and situation, but, "I don't think is the right thing to do for a princess... you see Spike, there is nothing wrong with two friends sharing a hug once in a while, but princesses needs to follow an etiquette, their position make them easy target for the media, so they need to hide their true self in pros to maintain the respect that the citizen have for them" she concluded.
"And... what about sleeping together? or even bathing together? you know full baths with no shame at all..." he asked diverting his eyes from her, his cheeks turned crimson red in the process too.
But he wasn't the only one turning into a tomato, "Bath's... no, no Spike don't you worry about that, Twilight just do those things with you because you are little, once you grow up she will stop pampering you like that" she assured. Poor dear didn't know what was really happening.
"yeah... you are right... she would have stopped by now right?" he asked, not noticing how odd his question sounded.
"eh? what did you say?"
Spike Got out of Fluttershy grasp, "ah, nothing. I just recalled that I need to go back to the castle" Spike stopped in his track and turned to Fluttershy again" uh... and I almost forgot, Fluttershy, from now on, if you want help with something because you are out of town doing a friendship mission, you can count on me, I compromise myself to lend a claw if you need it".
Fluttershy got stuck and at a loss for words for a second, until she dismissed the idea of trying to figure out what Spike said early, "oh Spike that's really kind from you".
"Oh and, I wanted to thank you for giving that present to Twilight and me... I cleaned the house and already help you with the animals outside, but I think I could do more" he thought for a moment, "What if I scare the timberwolves out? most of them fear me since I showed them my fire breath".
Fluttershy didn't seem sure about the idea, "I don't know Spike, the forest it's a really dangerous place, what if you let harry the bear to go with you? he will come back to me and tell me everything after you are done and gone to the castle" she suggested, perceiving how the critters around the house started to gather around Spike, "uhm, Spike, how did u manage to get the critters behave like that around you?".
Spike shrugged at the his friend question, "Don't know, I just started making the nest, and soon after they started to watch me, after that they went all quiet and most of them stopped looking at me, pretty creepy I have to say, but it make's me remember how the bisons treated me some years ago, they had the tendency of looking at me like I was some kind of god. but back then it felt funny not disturbing".
"That's weird... maybe this is the first time they see a dragon? I have never seen this kind of behavior before" Fluttershy commented, Spike just shrugged again as a response.

Nor Fluttershy neither Spike knew how to keep the conversation, so the later decided to take his way out to the Everfree forest, followed by harry and the critters.
Three hours had passed since Spike got back from the forest and the sun was getting ready for leaving the moon in charge. The little dragon was almost at home, already thinking in her comfy new bed waiting for him. He opened the doors of the Castle and upon entering he perceived the familiar sound of quills rubbing against scrolls.
' Twilight is still writing her report? ' he thought while making his way to the library, recalling that Twilight told him she would start her work early in the morning. Once inside the library of the castle the little assistant noticed a stack of scrolls in a base that had a little note on the front which said that those scrolls were ready to be sent.
Twilight, who was holding a scroll almost filled to the bottom of her reports, got near to Spike0s location without noticing it. Twilight sighed ' Or maybe it wouldn't work and Saddle Arabia would plainly put a war on the table... either way, that's the past, and I still have time, don't know how much, maybe till spike gets to his twenty's since twenty-one is the legal age for outlanders, that is a limit of two more years at minimum... '.

Twilight contemplated her best friend work while thinking again in her previous inner debate, 'Maybe I should ask him while he's induced with another sleep spell... it could be cheating, no it is cheating actually. maybe i could- '.
"Twilight, now that I remember, we need o talk about something" Spike awoke Twilight before she could drift into her thoughts again. Twilight noticed that he already had sent all the documents while she was away.
"Uh? of course, tell me".
"It's about you being compromised as a real princess now... I can still work for you as an assistant, with all my stamina it would be easy for me to keep the castle clean, so don't worry about you ending in the kitchen, even still, it would be useful if you learn how to cook".

Maybe Spike words were harsh for her, but she had a plan for tonight and she was committed to fulfilling it no matter what. Releasing a heavy sigh of content Twilight disposed to read one of her pending books, she still needs a couple of hours to make sure Spike is asleep after all.
Midnight at the crystal castle of friendship, a place so big you had to be cautious to sneak inside, since every step or swing could be heard through 3 to four rooms around you. The fourth chapter finally!
Have to admit, I didn't think at first this story would be this large, and there is still some chapter's to come!
It was another normal day in Ponyville, the sun was shining with warm flares of light and all the citizens were going about their usual routines: making purchases in the market, walking in the plaza, eating lunch at restaurants. If any of them knew that a war against dragons had been prevented that day they would be celebrating and singing their hoof's off for the rest of the afternoon.
Such as a pink party pony who was in the kitchen of Sugarcube corner with her cyan pegasus friend and the dragon of the event and trying her best to enjoy the news and resist the urge of causing havoc in the town by making a giant celebration. Spike had been the new dragon lord for less than a minute before giving the charge to a trusty dragoness that would not even think of putting his own kind in a ravaging war against his beloved ponies.
"So let me get this straight, Garble, that red stinky brute, couldn't lift a boulder that you could move without even flinching?" Rainbow dash asked in astonishment as she lifted Spike's arm and waving his muscular arm. "And here I thought that you were weaker than a normal dragon, but now I have my doubts. Where do you keep all that strength, runt?"
"Ember told me before coming back here that since I eat high-quality gems instead of hoarding them my body has developed better than most dragons of my age. She also said that she would investigate it since all the dragons we know are so young".
"What do you mean? last time they looked to be around my age. I know they are brutes du-"
"Rainbow, they were like four years old back then" Spike corrected his friend assumption, "Why do you think I was so afraid of them? wouldn't you be scared if you were cornered by a group of havocking foals twice or triple your size and mass?".
"Well, I would!" said Pinkie, interrupting the conversation, "believe me, they are already scary enough without all those power up" after that comment, she returned to her previous anxious state, "Spike I know you don't want a party right now, but can't we just have a little music? or some balloons? or confetti? really this is an excellent occasion for a party, you just saved Equestria from having to fight against dragons for pony's sakes!" she screamed.
Spike sighed heavily, his face turning down in sadness, "I know pinkie... but... I just don’t want to celebrate anything at the moment".
"Hey Spike, I'm the only one that can have a blue face without anypony making questions about it.You can tell us what happened" Rainbow dash assured him while resting a reassuring hoof on his back.
"Yesterday... a good soul and some jerks made me remember some things I forgot to be afraid of..." Spike took a slow breath before continuing, "let me tell you-"
"What happened yesterday while I was with Spike," Fluttershy said to Twilight, both of them sitting in the map room of the castle. A tear escaping the yellow pegasus hold while little sobs crumbled her voice, "sorry, it's just... give me a moment to compose myself".
"Sure thing Flutter, let me make some tea, it seems you will need it while you explain to me what happened... besides it could be useful for me. I have been learning how to cook regular food and drinks again" Twilight told her while going back to the kitchen.
Fluttershy took her time to calm herself while Twilight was away. ‘I need to tell her this without breaking apart, come on Fluttershy pull yourself together!’ She thought before raising her face up, her eyes filled with determination. Just to squeak a little shout after being scared by Twilight's face suddenly being three inches in front of her.
"Oh, sorry, you had me worried so I was about to ask you if everything was alright, and well... you know how it ended" she explained while blushing lightly in embarrassment.
"Don't worry princess" Twilight frowned at Fluttershy's show of respect towards her, "sorry, Twilight, don't worry about it, I feel fine now, and I'm ready to tell you everything" the shy pegasus declared before describing the events of the previous day.
It was mid-day in Fluttershy's cottage. The owner of the house and the purple assistant were packing some food and objects for their journey through the forest, Fluttershy had two saddlebags filled with food and first aid equipment while Spike had a backpack filled with medicine and a map for the forest.
"Okey, I made a list of everything we will do today, and according to the time I estimated for each task, we should be on our way back before six PM" said the prideful assistant.
"Excellent, that means we'll still have time before the sun goes down. Thank you for helping me out today Spike" chirped the shy pegasus.
"Anything for you, Fluttershy" Spike said almost in a singing tone, he had grown attached to that phrase a long time ago, but it felt somehow different for him to use it for someone who wasn't his mother or Twilight.
Fluttershy blushed at her friends kind nature but soon find herself back on the track: taking care of the injured animals that survived last predator's season. After five minutes they were on their way to the everfree forest. Once inside Fluttershy took her time to see the beauty hidden deep between the scary foliage.
Nature had been always tantalizing for Fluttershy, how everything worked to create utopia and dystopia at the same time in an endless balance. Each animal had a family and a story to tell and lose at the paws, claws, or hoofs of another animal in the constant need to survive. It was a rough environment but it showed her something when she was little: Everyone was equal in nature, every critter knew that they could die at any moment, and because of it each group of animals cared for each others well being. They didn't hold themselves to some legacy or their achievements in life, they only desired to have offsprings, who could share in the good things life has to offer.
That kind of kindness, the ones that move you with the only purpose of making the ones you love, and the ones that deserve to be loved, to be happy, formed the foundation of what Fluttershy's personality and beliefs were today.
"Is something wrong Fluttershy?" Spike asked the spaced out mare, "you seem a little lost".
"Oh, oh sorry Spike, I was just thinking about the beauty of mother nature and I dozed off for a moment". Fluttershy explained, now noticing the path in front of her, "we are almost there".
As soon as they got to the spot, critters of all races and with all kinds of injuries came out of their hideouts, following the lead of a white rabbit who's left paw was broken.
"There are at least twenty wounded here" Spike commented as he counted out the injured animals in front of him.
"There might be others that can't come out of their hideouts because of the pain" said Fluttershy. The white leader confirmed with a nod. "Oh poor dears, don't worry we will take care of all of you today".
"You know Fluttershy," Spike settled his backpack on the ground and signaled the leader to come over, "this bunny reminds me of Angel".
The little white critter was skeptical of the creature in front of him, a dragon with good intentions? That was impossible. Every instinct in him commanded him to escape from the drake. But he couldn't refuse Spike's invitation; even with all his knowledge about common predators something about this purple dragon seemed different.
The yellow pegasus looked to the bunny for a second, "Maybe he is one of Angel's brothers, but I couldn't be sure about it until I present the both of them to each other and ask".
Spike healed the bunny's paw as fast as he could, being cautious to not hurt the animal in the process. The bunny wasted no time in hugging Spike as a reward before jumping to the drake's head and making signals for his comrades to go to Spike's side.
"One of the legends?" Fluttershy asked after hearing the normally unintelligible sounds of the little rodent.
"What do you-" the now confused Spike tried to ask but Fluttershy hushed him while the little bunny kept on her rambling. Apparently for the little drake, the white critter was explaining something to Fluttershy.
"This is a misunderstanding young bunny, Spike is a good dragon indeed, but he is just a teen dragon, not an adult one".
Spike’s mind got wild for a second. Rambling thoughts, most of them bad things, crawled deep inside his brain after hearing the assumption of his true age being discovered.
"Yeah, I just turned twelve a couple of months ago little fella" Spike lied. ‘I hope animals don't have a sixth sense about mythical creatures. The last thing I need is my secret being discovered. Between torch wanting me as a possible consort for her daughter, which would enrage most of the dragons, and the crystal ponies counting each day until I become of age, my life could transform into a living hell’ he thought while feeling anxiety swelling inside of his psyche.
As if the animal could sense his worrying, he stopped his rambling after telling Fluttershy he was just seeing things.
‘Even still, you got me intrigued with those first words little bunny’ Spike thought while giving some drops of medicine to a little squirrel, "hey bunny, mind if you tell us what exactly were you talking about? Maybe I'm not one of those 'legends' but I would like to know who they were or what they did to earn that kind of title".
Back at Sugar cube corner, Rainbow was getting interested in the story Spike was telling them.
"So? what are those legends? It give's me that chill of sounding like something that could be in a Daring Doo novel" The cyan pegasus asked, feeling impatience build up inside her while Spike engulfed his drink of a sapphire milk shake with gusto.
"Holly... I forgot how tasty are these, thanks, Mrs. cake" Spike raised a thumb of approbation to the mare, Then, he noticed how eager Rainbow Dash was, and how Pinkie was still containing her need to throw a party.
"Ok, ok I'll keep going with the story, let's see... as Fluttershy translated it the legends were ancient dragons that denied their instincts in order to protect others. They were usually known for being kind and looking physically like a hatchling, just like me, but they stayed in that form for ages" Spike related before taking a pause to recall the rest of what the bunny said at the time, "He explained that they used to take care of animals while Equestria was a chaotic mess of ice and wendigos, their fire was strong enough to battle against the magic eternal winter, and some of them had magic just like me. The only bad thing is that they disappeared after discord started to rule over the world. After that the little bunny took a liking to me. He wanted to know more about the only dragon close enough to one of the legends"
Spike turned sad again, "but our friendship didn't last long... when we were close to finishing our ordeal... a trio of freaks showed up, they wanted to hurt Fluttershy in ways-"
"In ways, I'm uncomfortable with explaining right now...", said Fluttershy, taking another breath.
Twilight, Rainbow, and Pinkie trembled in fear of what they were about to be told.
"Look, guys, just like I told ya, I knew she would be here at this hour. I saw her a couple of weeks ago in this same place helping the animals" a brown unicorn said to his partners: a blue unicorn of gray mane, and a big black stallion of white mane.
"You said she was gonna be alone," the blue unicorn said annoyed, "now we have to kill that little lizard before we can have some fun with that whore"
Spike got in the way of the trio, "Fluttershy, run I'll-" the black stallion tossed Spike away into a tree, the impact of the blow causing the tree to fall down with him. The sudden sound also startled the critters, who ran to hide in every corner as quickly as they could.
"Spike!" Fluttershy yelled before being enveloped by magic, "stop, what are you doing!?".
"hold on there little sugar" the brown unicorn commanded, "I know very well how strong you are once someone messes up with your friends, so I'll put those tender thick legs of yours on a strain before anything happens".
The trio kept approaching her, "now don't be shy~" the brown unicorn cooed while levitating the poor Fluttershy upside down, leaving her rump to the public view, "we came here just for the plot".
"And 'came' is not the only thing we will do" the black stallion added with a smug grin.
"Somepony... Discord... Spike... someone help me please" Fluttershy cried, trying as hard as she could to cover herself with her tail.
"Now, now, don't ruin the show" The blue unicorn spoke, holding the tail of the shy pegasus down, who in response squeaked in pain, "oh... I like those sounds".
"Easy there bud, you are the creepy one here, you'll have your chances after we make her a puddle of cum, then you would can have all the sadistic fun you want" the brown stallion commented, much to the displeasure of their victim.
Suddenly, the trio found themselves in front of a wall of fire that was coming from the previously fallen dragon, "get away from her, you psychos!" Spike shouted.
The firewall rounded Fluttershy close enough to protect her without burning her. The trio tried to stop the fire but found it impossible after a few seconds.
"It’s fire magic to you dumb lunatics! Only I can stop it!" Spike said with pride.
"If it's a kind of magic then killing the spellcaster will be enough to cancel the effects" the big stallion trotted to the dumbfounded Spike, and in a swift motion he landed Spike's head to the ground with a heavy blow, "done, now the fire shou-" the stallion noticed how the fire remained unchanged.
"Then, that monster started to attack the poor Spike, one blow after another, I couldn't see it, I was so scared I just closed my eyes and folded my ears; but I was able to feel the thuds vibrating through the air with every buck he landed on Spike's head" Fluttershy explained her point of view.
Spike by his part was telling his own perspective in the past event.
"I have to admit, his blows were heavy and relentless, but far from dazzling me, he was just wasting his time and energy. I planned to beat him once he wasted his energy and then go for the others two, but unfortunately the big guy had a brain... he rolled me over onto my back and started to put pressure on my throat, after a few seconds I started to lose consciousness and my fire faded. I watched in terror how the unicorns were approaching Shy's side.” Spike paused. “Then I felt anger. A lot of anger building inside of me. After that everything got fuzzy.”
"And what about Discord? why he didn't show up?" asked Pinkie.
"He was at his home, dimension, whatever it is. You know that when he goes there the only way to call him is with magic."
"Well, you and Fluttershy are still alive, so what happened?" Rainbow asked.
"Fluttershy was the one who told me that what happened next. Seems like I fell into my primal consciousness" Spike continued to narrate.
A heavy roar stunned the two unicorns watching over Fluttershy. Said mare for her part became frightened and looked up by instinct, seeing the image of Spike holding the black stallion by the neck. A loud crunch noise then echoed through the forest before the dragon tossed the broken stallion to the ground.
"Black hammer!" the blue unicorn screamed in fury. Wasting no time, he sent a powerful magic blast towards Spike but the attack didn’t have the slightest effect.
Spike started to run on all fours and before the duo could react, the ravaging dragon got the hold on one of the brown unicorn's hooves and throw him to a nearby boulder; breaking the stallion's hind legs in the process.
"Think, come on think, dragons, they are weak to something right?" the blue unicorn mumbled in fear till his mind clicked with a solution, "yes, spears, penetrating weapons" he recalled while conjuring a set of magic spears.

Fear is a weak word to use for what the blue unicorn face expressed once he saw the spears bouncing off of Spike's scales. To be more precise in his appearance: his face, mind, and mane were a mess of cries and sweat, his hoofs crumbled and failed him, making him fall to the ground with a loud thud and a puddle of goo started to swell near his mouth. Each step made by the predatory bea... no, this dragon wasn't a predator, he was a killer, a murderer with reasons. A beast that wouldn't hesitate in giving him a slow and painful death.
Looking for help, the blue unicorn shifted his look away from his imminent doom to see his old friend of crime trying as hard as he could to not pass out. After some seconds he noticed his friend was mumbling something.
"Tell? tell the? tell the port? OH I KNOW!", he shouted, too late for him to notice that Spike was already in front of him.
Before the unicorn could concentrate enough to save himself Spike's claws cut his horn in half, leaving said unicorn drowning in pain. His soundless yells of agony were interrupted when Spike took him by his hind leg and tossed him to the same place his friend was recovering, twice as hard as he previously did early.
The hit caused the boulder to break in pieces while the dead body of the blue unicorn still bounced on the ground till it came abruptly to a stop after landing between the bushes.
After that only silence and Spike remained. The little dragon's body was starting to swell, just like his claws and spikes were. He started breathing heavily and with every exhale a cloud of smoke escaped his lips and nostril.
"Hoard. protect... I must. protect" Spike panted, his stature swelling faster by the second. He gripped his head hard while whining in pain, "Must. control... don't lose. contro..." after fighting against himself, the fatigue of his body rejecting the changes of his instincts wore him out to the point that he fainted, and his body stopped it’s unnatural grow.
"I looked for the dead bodies after she explained what happened to me. To make things worse the bunny..." Spike tried as hard as he could to keep his tears in, but failed. "I... killed the white bunny when I tossed the blue unicorn into his hideout... he wanted to befriend me, but I.... no matter what Fluttershy told me, I'm a mo-".
A loud smack sound bounced through the building, Pinkie Pie held her hoof in the air, the action was a reactionary one for her, but she understood why she did it. "Don't you ever try to say that Spikey!" the pink mare shouted before she and the crying Rainbow Dash tackled the dragon to the ground with a hug.
"Listen here little squirt. We are sorry for what happened but don't you ever said It was your fault, you hear me?" Rainbow Dash reprimanded him, "You saved Fluttershy from being hurt or worse... ugh, I don’t even want to think about it".
Spike hugged his friends back. He tried to accept their words but, "girls I just... I killed those guys so easily... it just feel wrong, it made me remember what my race is capable of... what I was born to do to survive".
"Don't think about it Spike, you are not like them" commented the pink party mare.
"Yeah, you are more like those legendary one’s, a kind, soft and cute dragon" Rainbow continued, "I gotta say though, I would laugh my hooves off if I saw a legendary dragon using a pink apron" she joked.
"Hey it's a clever idea. The bad guys wouldn't suspect a thing until my dragon claws get them." he joked back before the depression hit him again. "girls... that wasn’t the only thing that made me sad that day... you see...".
"I told Spike that even when the bunny died, he was already getting in his old age" Fluttershy told the sad and angry Twilight, who right now was fighting the urge of using a time spell and save her friends in the past, "I told him he probably died happy because he lived long enough to save his friends from the injuries".
The yellow mare took another breath before continue with her narration, "he hugged me, telling me that it wasn't fair. Not just the fact that his new friend died in the collateral damage... but because those ruffians reminded him of something he had locked out of his thoughts...".
After a couple seconds of silence Fluttershy laughed in irony, "isn't it funny? my expertise is knowing about animals and how to treat them... but I never realized how Spike’s connection with us, his kindness and devotion to us goes against his natural lifecycle..."
"Fluttershy I don't understand what you mean, is there something wrong with my dragon ?" the last words made Twilight's eyes shine in a lighter tone, unfortunately, Fluttershy didn’t notice.
"Spike is a drake twilight, an almost immortal creature for what we know. He will have to see us perish at some point. The normal thing to do for him is to travel and forget everything he can about us, just like other immortal creatures like the phoenix does, but he refuses to do so. He told me with more honesty than Applejack could ever show... that he would stay, and even take care of our relatives when we are gone, and the offspring of them and so on..." Fluttershy explained with happy features and tears running freely through her eyes.
"That, wow, I didn't know Spike could be this kind toward us... he really must love us all" Twilight smiled too, "that explains the reasons behind the neglect of his title as dragon lord".
Fluttershy shifted for a moment afraid of something creeping in her thoughts, "even still, I have to say that I don't know why he is like this toward us, dragons don't imprint on others like other creatures do, they only care about their hoard".
‘hoard’ That word turned the gears in Twilight's mind as the pieces slowly started to fall into place. Spike's hoard was composed of them, that could explain his feeling towards the group in more ways then she had the time to examine right now. Getting quickly out of her train of thought Twilight responded.
"uhm... but he doesn't transform into Spikezilla every time we get in trouble. This was a special occasion, one that I hope to never see again in our lives" Twilight inquired, "besides, if he see us as his hoard wouldn't he be all beast mode every time Rarity tries to get noticed by a stallion?" she added playfully.
"Well, that's true, even st-".
A huge scream for help echoed through the whole town, the voice easily recognizable, it was Spike.
An implosion appeared near the front door inside Sugarcube corner, from which two mares appeared, the first one, the yellow animal caretaker, was on the verge of throwing up; meanwhile the other one, the purple alicorn, was in a frenetic state, looking in every direction for a clue to Spike's exact location, but there were only ponies to be seen, until she spotted the rainbow colored mane of one of her friend in the kitchen.
Wasting no time in trotting, she teleported to the said location, "where is Spike?!" she asked before her eyes could adapt to their new location.
Spike was right there on the ground, grasping for his dear life, his little body being engulfed between pink fur and hair, "help. me!" he shouted with the last bit of air his lungs had before he paced out into the sweet embrace of death.
‘I think you were meant to say: 'the sweet embrace of the party pony!' Pinkie pie corrected the narrator.
"Pinkie could you please not kill my dragon ? It’s only mid-day for Celestia's sake" Twilight asked annoyed.
"Oh, sorry," Pinkie released her grip on the little dragon "It's just that Spike told us something real nice, I think no one had ever told me something so nice in my life, and he is so sweet and little and mushy and kind that I couldn't help myself and I started to hug him and kiss him and snuggle him, and because of it the narrator got confused, and then I tell Spike how much I love him and then again-" Pinkie kept rambling while Twilight looked to see how Spike was holding up.
"Everything alright Spike? how do you feel?"
"I feel like a pink monster truck run over me like four times in a row" the dazzled dragon explained, "how did you get here so fast? I didn't tell you where I was heading".
Twilight smiled at him, her eyes shining in a lighter purple than usual, "I always know where my assistant is, but pinpointing the exact location is hard" she replied while taking him in her back.
"Glad to hear that" Spike commented, too dazzled to ask himself how she could know where he was and recalling that the only one capable of that was his mother.
"Hey, where are you taking him? I asked for snuggles first!" Pinkie Pie stopped rambling to ask Twilight’s intention.
"Pinkie, Spike just saved Equestria and from what I know now, Fluttershy, from certain doom, so I think he need's a well-deserved rest for today. Tomorrow I will give him the day off, so if you still are up to hug him that's okay, but remember to let him breath".
"Okey dockie lokey" Pinkie cheered, "then I'll go back to make some pastries, you want something dash?"
"Nah, I'm okay. Besides, looks like Fluttershy needs help to get up on all fours without throwing up" Rainbow said before approaching Spike, "you did well squirt... thanks for saving my childhood friend" she kissed him on the forehead, "a kiss from rainbow dash, I don't think you will get something more awesome than that today." she laughed before taking her leave.
"Well, I'll be going too then, see you later Pinkie" Twilight gave her goodbyes and started her way back home with her assistant.
On her way back home Twilight found herself lost in her thoughts. She acknowledged the things she learned today, but even when all the new information about dragons and how Spike reacted yesterday, there were more questions than before. How exactly did his instincts worked? Why did he seem to be the only dragon affected by them? Did his head to hoard mean he didn’t really love her or any of their friends for that matter? There was so much to know, but right know she needed to concentrate and think with a clear mind about the matter. Maybe make a list of the questions so once Spike came back tomorrow after having his day off.
She could have her answers.

Chapter 6: Something difficult for the best of friends
It was afternoon at the Friendship castle in Ponyville. The crystal structure shined in rainbow bright colors, a result of the reflection of the light the sun was providing. Within the halls of the castle a prompt and impatient alicorn was waiting for her assistant to get back home from his day off.
It was unusual for her to be so irritated about her assistant and best friend getting home late; but for her, it made sense given her current circumstances: new responsibilities as a princess, the map always sending her or one of her friends to the corners of Equestria, but most importantly, Starlight. Now that the reformed unicorn was her student and lived in the castle she found it difficult to sneak into Spike's room for some stress relief, also, the fact that Starlight seemed to get 'lost in the castle' every time she entered a room where Spike was is something irritating for the young alicorn.
'I swear she was peeping while he was taking a bath ' Twilight thought, not noticing the pink party mare who was getting inside the room, ‘If I catch her again in the act, I prom-’
"Hello, Twilight!" Greeted Pinkie Pie scaring the magic out of her friend; who cast a protective shield on instinct.
“”Sigh, it's just you Pinkie, what brings you here so late?" Twilight said, trying her best to smile while the effects of the sudden shock dissipated.
"Well, as you know, Spike decided to spend the day in Sugarcube, he helped me bake some cakes and then we talked about my party organization skills and then he ran out of ideas to stop my inevitable snuggles" she chirped.
"Yeah, I knew he was there, actually I was expecting he would have come with you. Actually... It seem's like-"
"He is out in Ponyville? yes! yes, he is," Pinkie bounced around, "Princess Celestia sent him two letters, one for him..." The party mare tossed a scroll on the table were Twilight was resting her hoofs, "and one for you. Spike told me to give you this one at this time and now you have it".
Twilight grabbed the scroll and unfolded him, "how weird... Spike would normally send me this as soon as he got it, your hugs didn't have anything to do with it right?" she asked with a knowing look.
"Nope. He told me that his letter said that this letter was to be brought to you later. After that, and some good old warm snuggles, he left to take the train to Canterlot" The pink mare explained while taking her leave, "gotta go Twily! the tweens are waiting for dessert!".
Twilight hummed in concern, "okay, thanks for the delivery Pinkie!" she said to her partaking friend before focusing on the content of the letter.
‘My dearest fellow princess
After the news about Spike’s contribution with the new dragon lord, I wanted to speak to you about something I thought you didn't know from the beginning. First of all, don't worry, I'm not bothered by my niece's actions, but I must say I'm proud of you for keeping the secret as it is, and by the time you read this, Spike must already know everything too.
Cadance also told me about the essays you have been working on in order to resolve the future Spike's political compromise. But even with all your well-appreciated help, we still need a winning card against the chances of war.
The reason I sent you this letter is because I need you to come to Canterlot as soon as you can today. Now that I have time for myself and there are less noble ponies around the castle it will be the perfect time to talk about our problems with the Saddles Arabians and the possible solution that Spike gave to us.
I'll be hoping to see you at the castle before midnight. The guards will lead you to the place for us to meet. Always your friend and teacher.
Princess Celestia’
Between the sharp trails of moonlight that illuminated one of the many Royal palace rooms, two figures could be seen if you paid enough attention to uncovering their forms through the dying light. An alicorn whose mane behaved like a solar flare traveling through the infinite galaxy; and a little dragon. Both of them were sitting on the thick and soft carpet that covered the pristine floor.
"Are you sure about this? It would break my heart to see you two part ways," said a concerned mother looking at the back of his son.
Some would not believe their eyes if they could capture this moment. The highest authority of the land, the great princess Celestia was shaking, her eyes were diverting between the ground and the solitude that her son, her beautiful purple scaled son, emanated.
"Mom, you know me, you know I'm a forgiver, but I'm not like my friends. I need solid reasons. I need answers. I need motives. I need..."
At that moment a surge of energy traveled through the castle, "Looks like she’s here... and I thought she would use the train," the princess commented, before pulling out a heavy sigh.
"She should be exhausted by the trip, go now Mom..." Celestia, while depressed, was resilient to go after hearing her son words, "mom... can I tell you something... I may have lived alongside mares all my life, but you all are still a mystery for me sometimes" Spike chuckled.
"I know I told you this before... but I'm sorry... I chose the easy-"
"No, you didn't. You did the right thing for your ponies." Spike interrupted the alicorn. His perceptive senses feeling the little clop sounds coming from outside the door, "we will talk about this later, now go, you don't want to be here if this gets rough."
Celestia gave a little kiss to her son on the forehead before leaving, knowing his interrupted words meant that he had forgiven her. Soon after she teleported as far away from the room as she could, Just in time for Twilight’s arrival.
"Celestia? are you here?" Twilight asked before the guards shut the door behind her, "Hey what is-" She was interrupted once again as the light in the room powered up to full force, making her go blind for a second before her eyes adapted again.
"Spike?" The purple alicorn asked in confusion, this didn't look like the kind of meeting her mentor stated on the letter.
"Sorry, I just wanted to give some drama to your entrance" Spike cheered with a smile to his friend.
‘Okay Spike, no time for your usual jokes, you will need to be serious about this one ’ the little drake concentrated. After taking a huge breath to calm his nerves, he spoke again.
"Twilight. first of all... how much time has passed since you learned about it?"
There was something in those words, something unknown to Twilight, for a second she felt lost before responding the question.
"Some weeks after I got my title and my Alicorn form, Cadance told me about everything after I told her... after I..."
"My sister... she’s the only one that hasn't spoken to me about this, I don't blame her, mom was the one who decided to not invite her" Spike commented, his eyes lost on the ceiling while he scratched his chin for a moment before his eyes centered again on Twilight’s face, "what did you tell her?"
Twilight found herself incapable of giving him an answer, only mumblings and hushed sounds came from her mouth as she tried as hard as she could to gather some courage ‘I was expecting to talk about political matters, not my feelings... I'm not prepared to talk about this yet. if there is a chance that the foreign country grabs my... my... what is that tingling sensation? that sensation every time I… ’
Spike sighed again. He would not get anything at this point, "Let's change the topic... there is another thing that is bothering me: why did you have to mess with my dreams?"

Silence... utter solid, almost tangible silence rested upon the room. Seconds stretched into years, and those years found their way back to be seconds after Twilight's heart started pumping again. Her mind bounced frantically looking for any answer for Spike questions.
"Before you have a heart attack," Spike started with a raised claw, "Luna told me about it, she dismissed the idea of confronting you on the matter at first because she thought I asked for that kind of dream as some kind of pay for my services, or just to relieve some stress."
"Spike... look, I know what I did was wrong but there is a reason..."
"Yeah?!" he shouted, "Well explain! Do you know how hard it was to keep myself in control with that kind of dream every three or four days?".
"The thing is... I... I..." Twilight mumbled, unable to figure a way to start her soon to be love declaration.
"No, wait, first off, why did you give me those kinds dreams with every one of our close friends, including you? if you wanted to knock some stress out of me Rarity would have been enough!"
Twilight's line of thought broke after that sentence, a shiver filled with rage ran from her spine to her head.
"Why? Why her? I know she is a passionate, beautiful and refined mare. But still, she only see's you as a friend!"
"I DON'T CARE" Spike shouted, little tears flowing down his neck, "At least, at least I would have thought it was just puppy love..."
Still outraged, The princess didn't notice Spike’s stance had changed into a defensive one. Her previous mental breakdown let her unable to process the current situation.
"If you really wanted to stop it you should have said so in your dreams, Besides why was it always the six of us? I even tried to summon others mare's and your mind refused it every time!" She argued back.
"That... that was... no... no!" Spike mumbled between sobs until he composed himself, he needed to stand and argue back without hesitation, "No, THAT IS NOT THE POINT" He screamed, putting a stop to Twilight behavior, "Let. me. explain, I.. I have feelings towards our friends, they were like a family to me in the past, just like you Twilight, and having all these dreams was hard for me. I thought it was some kind of dragon thing; bucking my peaceful life again. Because of it, I tried to isolate myself in the castle every time I had one just to get the lust out of my head."
"But... you... I should have noticed if anything was bothering you." Twilight responded, feeling the tension in the room cool down. Her legs found the ability to move again towards her friend after being stuck between confusion, fear, anger, and her own weight.
"I didn't want you to hear that Twilight, the thing is I couldn't say the kind of acts and events I dreamed.... wait a moment did you just say that you tried to put other mares? did you choose which one I would... buck... every time I had a dream?" he asked after the realization hit him.
‘Nice job princess’ "Well, you see..." Twilight tried to respond.
"Twilight I know that face and tone of yours, don't try to cover up the truth!" Spike demanded, "Look, I only want a true answer, a real reason behind all the struggles I had to overcome. Because of those dreams, I feel something more complex for each of our friends, something deeper than a puppy love or the love towards a family." Spike explained his predicament before scratching the back of his head in embarrassment, "even for you...".

'Even for you '. That was the catalyst, the target event, the sentence that could resolve this entire situation. The only thing Twilight needed was courage. and for all the things she wanted, she knew she had the courage. Those words meant what she had been unconsciously waiting to know for a long time but only realized a couple of days ago.
"Even for me? What do you mean Spike?" She asked innocently, approaching him slowly as she did so. "What do you feel for me?"
"Well... you see... It's something forbidden, I can't have this kind of thoughts towards you. After all, you are like my family..."
"You didn't answer the question, Spike, what do you feel for me?" she asked again in a cooing and demanding tone.
Spike found himself indecisive to answer, to make things worse, the steady pace of Twilight’s approach alongside her cooing voice make her look like a predator with her eyes on her prey. That was until he recalled once again that he was the one that should be asking the questions.
"No wait, you aren't the one asking here, I am!" he said with vigor, "What were your motives?" he asked with a dominant tone. In reality, he forgot about their previous line of conversation and decided to turn back to point zero.
Twilight keep her slow pace towards him 'I only need to push him a little more, maybe some truth will calm him down and open him up again ’ she thought before composing her next words.
"One of my motives was to thank you for your kindness and servitude since the only official payment I gave you as an assistant was a home to live in," Twilight explained, her figure only a couple of meters away from reaching him, "The other was because I knew that keeping the entire castle clean by yourself, even with your dragon stamina, was exhausting."
Twilight finally found herself near her beloved assistant, now that she was close to him she took the chance to rub his cheeks in an attempt to ease him.
"Now... would my number one assistant respond to my question?" she pleaded in a charming tone.
Spike lost himself in the clouds that were Twilight's eyes for a moment, those beautiful purple eyes who had a shine, a beautiful shine that showed determination, intelligence, commitment, kindness, will, power... obsession... desire... Greed.
‘It can't be, I thought it was only because of the dreams, but those eyes, there is Greed in them, how come Twilight has them? Is it because of me? dark magic maybe? ’ Spike thought before assembling a way to resolve his dilemma.
"Twilight" he started, the quiet hum of his friend signaling him to keep going, "After the chat I had with mom, I decided to stay in Canterlot just in case something bad happens that could put Equestria in danger." Twilight's jaw was slowly dropping as Spike continued, "So, the thing is... I'm not you assistant anymore"
"What!?" Twilight exclaimed, her body feeling the tantalizing sensation which Spike was giving her draining out by the second "Spike you don't need to do that, I promise you, nothing bad will happen, I promised that no one is gonna take your precious scales out of my hooves ".
"Your precious scales?" The little drake muttered before being trapped in a tight hug.
"I worked hard these past three years with Cadance searching for a way to save you in a political and rational matter. We only need a failsafe to ensure that we can end the war by military over power and not by fighting in it" She explained before embracing him in a thigh hug.

The duo laid in their own embrace for a moment. Twilight was again feeling the energy coming from her friend; Spike on the other hoof was taking in all the knowledge he had just learned... First, Twilight was the one helping Celestia all along, using Cadence as a cover. Second, There were good motives for her to create those lust filled dreams... but those reasons were too irrational for the Twilight he knew; which led to his third acknowledge.
"Then... that means" Spike mumbled, his next words could possibly trigger something that he was already afraid of, "I would still be... your dragon".
Twilight immediately felt a sudden rise of pleasure run through her nerves, "yes..." she moaned ‘oh goddess, I'm losing it... no, it doesn't matter, let him now. he already knows most of it, so there is no point. Besides, I really want to end this facade ’.
"Yes Spike, you'll be mine, as you always have " The disturbed alicorn expressed with a seductive look on her face. Not only that, but her eyes started to shine light purple again.
'HOLY GUACAMOLE SHE HAS GREED ’
"Twilight, this is Greed, you have the dragon's Greed!" Spike screamed in fear, his best friend was losing herself in a sin that had no place in her race, "how didn't I notice it early, dammit! all this time holding my instinct away made me oblivious of how they looked!".
Twilight wasn't concerned in the slightest and just shrugged at Spike's declaration before resting her snout on Spike's, "I think you should know my last motive for those dreams Spike... but maybe you already figured it... after all, you said that it felt too real in most of them".
Spike’s eyes widened in surprise,"Wait, you... what, how, why?" he rambled, feeling unsure about how to proceed against dragon instincts when they were influencing another.
"At first it was just an accident, a little kiss, that merged with your odd delicious flavor, transformed into something more ravishing, lustful" she said while making sure her lips were as close to Spike's as possible, "but then I wanted more of it, and your body wasn't the one to deny me. The only thing I needed was a good sleep-inducing spell, and sometimes a clone spell to make things more interesting".

Celestia turned to face her friend with a sly look, "I understand you got carried away by the things you said to each other here, but in the future, it would be nice if you remember to be the one casting the sound barrier spell," she suggested while leaving the room and the boiling red Twilight within it.
Canterlot at midnight is one of those places that will be worth a train ticket for day to visit it. Even when Equestria is known for the splendid sky view at night, provided by the princess of the moon, Canterlot's high ground position gives a view that surpasses almost every other place in Equestria, with the only exception of the Crystal empire astonishing aureola boreal.

Luna snickered quietly, trying to preserve the soothing silence of the night, "She couldn't contain herself.Oh, you should have seen her... all those centuries absent of the joy of being a mother swelled inside of her. If not by my magic, you would hear her shouts resonating through all of Canterlot".
Twilight covered her mouth to contain a giggle, "Well, at least I know why she is taking so long to come here" she composed herself before returning to her previous thoughts, "Looks like I'll don't have any kind of problem with my future mother-in-law" she added with a smile.
Luna looked at Twilight with a smugly smile 'time to see if that other thing is true too'

Twilight laughed a little more before acknowledging the next question that was presented to her, "I... well yeah... Fluttershy always had that kind of touch with Spike, and she had outgrown out of her shyness so much throughout the years... maybe I should-"
"What if Spike wants her too? I'm a mare that follows old traditions, and there would be no complaints on my part if I see my nephew with a herd" Luna commented trying to sound as casual as possible.
Twilight took her time in analyzing the words of the princess, "you seem so sure about it... did spike told you to ask me that? I already told him, I would share him with my friends if it's necessary", she stated with determination, the shimmer in her eyes fading by the second.
'Would youLook at that...' Luna thought before easing her fellow princess, "It seems you can handle yourself against the greed Twilight, but I'm not quite sure of how far you can control it".

The princess of the moon got near to her friend, thinking for a moment the things she'll need to explain to Twilight, "Twilight, do you know how I felt while nightmare moon was taking control of my mind?" she asked.

" how you could? wait,"Twilight paused, acknowledging something more important for her than Cadance lies, "Wait a minute, the things I said before... does that mean I... that those words... it is true?! there is really no Greed involved?"
"Seems like your scientific side was still considering the possibilities" Cadance commented before a little snicker escaped her mouth. She soon found the way to compose herself and being serious again, "But remember Twilight, this doesn't mean you actually have a control over the Greed, it just means that your feelings towards Spike are honest".
Twilight took a moment to think, while on it, the princess of love dismissed her shield, and with it any inhibition over Twilight's Greed. Twilight snapped with an idea
"What if I train with illusion spells? I had been working on one spell that can visually transform an area and create all kind of things or situations I want after I concentrate enough to-" Twilight Stopped mid-sentence. There was something unusual happening, she felt a beat that echoed and reflected with her magic; the problem was that she only can feel this kind of beat when her little assistant was nearby.

As an answer, both Spike and Celestia's eyes appeared floating in the air for a brief second before their full appearance was shown. A simple alteration spell was all that Celestia needed to do to make both of them invisible from the beginning.
"How long have you two being here?!" Cadance asked with a harsh tone. Blooming Love is a matter that must be discussed in private, and her brother and mother just broke that rule.
"We sneaked in the moment you came here disguised as my sister" Celestia explained.
Twilight got confused after a short analysis of the previous events, "wait you didn't know?" After all, When Cadance fell in love I felt the need to protect her and doubt every little thing about her relationship; but in Spike's case it was all the opposite, I wanted to encourage him and celebrate" The princess said with a smile, "but in this case the one with doubts was him. If I'm honest with you Twilight, immortality had blind my wiseness about love matters since a long time, and I'm just getting the hang of it again because I decided to adopt. Because of that, I sent a letter to Cadance, and with the help of Spike, we explained her everything before asking her to help"
"Which bring us to what you already know: my sis talked with you, I couldn't wait for Cadance to bring the news and asked mom to help me out with the spying part, and you found me with what I call 'hoard sense'".
"I guess you are still upset about our actions" Twilight nodded to her mentor, "and you have the right to be, but right now I want to ask you for forgiveness, at least for tonight. We need to talk about other important things that require your full attention" The white alicorn expressed.
Twilight sighed and tried to calm herself, but it was difficult for her to forgive their actions... "I don't know if I should. first, Cadance lied to me when she showed up as Luna".
"You and Luna share a more respectful and serious relationship than with Celestia or me. besides if I showed up as myself from the beginning you would have asked why I was here, and I would have to explain that I already knew everything and that I talked with Spike. "I did it because I was scared Twi, my instincts are something hard to bear, and I just got the handle on them because of the many years I have been controlling them" the purple dragon explained in a depressed tone, his eyes diverged from hers "when I heard your maniacal laugh after that comment about the crystal ponies, I really got sad... I thought that you could become a monster because of me..."
Spike's eyes shined again and he looked up at her best friend, "but then, when you spoke without the effects of my magic... Twilight, you don't know how happy I was to hear those words... and the most important thing about your true feeling was that it showed me that there is still will in your heart; we only need to train you so my instincts can't do anything against you-"
Twilight puckered Spike's lips, he quickly released himself from his friend grip before the little kiss could pass to major events.

A sudden knock at the door of the room startled the group, the knock was followed by a sweet voice.
"Princess, That was the signal you mentioned?" said a charming voice from the other side of the room.
Celestia signaled the others to follow her inside the room. Just like most of the guest rooms of the Canterlot palace, the room floor was covered in a white carpet and was furnished with a king size bed, a dresser, two nightstands at each side of the bed, a pony-sized mirror and a bookshelf. Apart from that, the only main difference of this guest room was the sheer size, who was big enough for six to eight ponies to be in it comfortably.
Once the group of princesses, and the dragon, got comfortable on the carpet Celestia explained, "Sorry for not telling you this early, there is someone with a tight schedule that needs to talk to us" she coughed a little to temper her tone of voice, "You can enter now".
A white earth pony with blue eyes and a pristine black mane entered the room, she was using a classic maid dress and a white hairpin to hold her front hair to the side. The mare looked young but not enough to be called a filly. Once she entered, she greeted the ones inside before making herself comfortable in the room; After that, she situated herself in front of the duo and was about to talk to them, but she stopped herself for a moment to take a look at the purple drake eyes. the smile on her face soon faded and was replaced with an astonished look.
Spike felt the attention provided by the mare a little unsettling, her eyes felt like they were piercing through his soul, searching for something inside of him. The little drake couldn't contain the attention and asked, "why are you looking at me like that? sorry to tell you this, but you are not giving me a good first impression"
The mare flicked out off her trance on the drake, "sorry" she squeaked, "It's just that I wanted to be sure about something...".
Twilight and Spike stood in confusion at the white pony's action. Before any question could be made, Celestia interjected. She explained that the white mare is an agent that works undercover for the Arabian princess and that even if she wanted, she couldn't give her name or any kind of nickname for that matter, it was a counter measure that they adopted after an accident who happened years ago. Lastly, Celestia told the duo that the mare had come this night to give a resume of all her previous reports to the princess.
"Thanks, your highness!" greeted the mare, "now I can go directly to the point, or better say, points" she said before acknowledging that Celestia was making her way out of the room.
"I'm gonna bring some water while you are at it" Celestia commented before leaving the room.
"Thanks again your highness" she chirped before focusing on the duo, "now, like I was about to tell you: first of all, I have been working undercover for the princess of the west country since she looked her eyes on that purple dragon almost 10 years ago".
"Wait, wait, first of all, my name is -" Spike tried to tell his name but the white pony stopped him.
"Don't tell me your name!" the maid shouted, "I only know the name of princesses because the kingdom knows I have seen them both. believe me, little drake, those ponies have a lot of counter measures for anything or anyone that looks suspicious" she panted.
The mare stood with one of her hooves on Spike's lips, but her hoof wasn't muffling his words, she was just touching his lips.
"Ahm... after my first-year undercover, the princess gave me the chance to be in a special group that runs on her command" the mare started to pant in an odd way, "our group's job was to find young dragons or dragons that physically looked young. The purpose of it was,,,, mmh... haa... to find a rare specimen of your race..." she moaned the last words out.
Far to this point, Twilight was making an excellent job containing the urge to toss the mare out of Spike's scales. That was until she noticed how the earth pony was openly moaning at the touch of Spike' lips and cheeks. By muscle reflex, she conjured a shield around her and the dragon.
"That was disturbing..." said an astonished Spike.
"What in Tartarus was that all about?!" Twilight interrogated the mare, but found nothing excepts heavy breaths coming from her. Twilight made signals to her sister-in-law, but Cadance just shrugged at them.
"Sorry, she just speaks with Celestia or her sister, this is pretty much new to me too" the pink alicorn commented.
Celestia got back to the room, holding a jar of water and some glasses; just in time to see the current situation of the room.
"Looks like I missed the fun part" The princess of the sun joked before taking a look at the panting mare that was just starting to compose herself, "so... this mean that..."
"That drake is the closest thing to a kirin I have ever known!" the white mare said astonished. Twilight and Cadance got shocked at the realization of the disturbed mare. Spike by his part only got confused and cursed himself for not paying attention to the mythology classes.
Suddenly, from the other side of the balcony, a dark beam of magic crossed her way through the room and landed on the panting mare. The spell brought the earth pony to a peaceful state. Soon after it, the owner of the magic made her presence: it was the princess of the night, Luna.
"it's good to see that you came here, sister, I was just about to call for your assistance" Celestia greeted.
"Luckily for me, most of today's dreams were easy to handle" the dark blue alicorn commented while Celestia served a glass of water to the now calm guest, "I heard the last part of the conversation on my way here, after hearing the declaration of our young guest, I knew that she was in need of an alteration spell".
"Thanks, your highness," the white mare said before facing Twilight, "sorry, I couldn't control myself".
Twilight hugged spike, "what do you mean by that? I don't want this mare anyway near to my dragon " Twilight stated with glimmering eyes while augmenting the size of her magic shield.
"Twilight, your Greed, you are falling onto its effects again" Spike whispered into her friend's ear. The purple alicorn soon found herself back in control and dispelled the shield.
The white mare smiled, "jeje, I can't lie to you, purple alicorn, I'm attracted to your dragon, but don't blame me for it, the reasons of my odd behalf around him is because I'm currently on the effects of a powerful drug" the white mare explained.
The mare kept on her explanation before someone could ask the inevitable, "The drug inhibits our natural control over our primal instincts, making us as wild as an animal in the first two hours, after that, the after effects are permanent unless you receive medical treatment. Thanks to the drugs, the members of the group can know how close is a dragon to a kirin..."
"Wait. do you keep telling that but, what do you mean? what is a kirin?" asked Spike who was still unable to remember.
"The result of an offspring between a dragon and other race, there is little knowledge about the matter, but the most common race to be paired with a dragon for that kind of result is a pony" Twilight euphorically interrupted Spike's previous sentence, "that could make some kind of sense Sp-!"
Spike muffled Twilights words, "I know that you are about to go on your usual scientific speech, but remember, no names".
Twilight nodded, granting her the permission to speak again, "as I was saying: when I brought you to life with my magic, some of it got in your genes because of the overcharge, usually that explained your magic abilities like sending letters back to the princess and not only receiving them like the few magic dragons could, or the fact that you can store objects inside your flame and... maybe that's is the reason I have Greed" she said with an unsettling tone at her last words.
The white mare had been nodding in confirmation during all the speech, until Twilight mentioned that last sentence, "That's right Greed! one of the important factors known by the group was that the more close a dragon was to a kirin, the easier you would be to be attracted to him since Kirin were known to be desired creatures in the past" she pause for a moment while recalling more information about her previous reports" but that only happens if A: you are using the drug and are as susceptible as a wild animal; or B: The said dragon considers you as his or her owner in some form"
Spike lost himself in thought for a second while looking at Twilight, "maybe my role as your assistant made me think of you as something beyond a boss, well... the fact that I started to grow feeling towards you didn't help either" Spike said before a question crept into his brain, "wait, what do you mean by being attracted?"
"It means that you would feel a great desire for the drake, a carnal desire, to be more specific is like an aphrodisiac combined with estrus hormones" The mare explained before realizing they were misleading the conversation, "wait, hold on, I need to go in less than an hour and I still haven't told you the important part" she did a pause to take a breath, "The princess reason for all this cult kind of activities are because she wants to find a dragon who is close enough to a kirin, to have an offspring with him, a natural born kirin!" she exclaimed.
"WHAT?" Twilight and Cadance shouted in shock.
"Why would she want a kirin? and going so far as to make a cult that hunts dragons for it. What is that princess thinking?" asked the princess of love.
"The legends say that Kirin held great power, almost as equal as the ones that the ones carried by the embodiment of chaos, Discord "She said a little uneasy, "well it's what the princess was told by her grandmother when she was little" She looked at Celestia with concern, "I fear that she wants to use that kind of power to take over Equestria. With that amount of power and land their people would not have to be worried about anything in the future".
"Yeah sure," said the princess of the sun in a sarcastic tone "believe me, young pony, the last thing that spoiled mare cares about is her people", she added before taking a sip of water.
"That is horrible, I thought this was only because S... because he was your son" Twilight said still shocked, "now I understand why they are going so far as to get him through the implication of war"
"Not all of them..." Luna interrupted, "it's best if you hear what our guest have to said to the very end before making conclusions, princess".
"Can you give me some water mom?" asked Spike. Same as luna, he seemed to take the matter with a calm temper.
"I don't understand you, how can you handle this situation so easy? it doe-"

"If the king and queens sees that kind of challenge, they will cease their support, and the princess would have to resign herself to find another dragon" the white mare stated.
"Then this could be easier than what I expected" commented Spike, "The dragon lord wants to befriend the ponies already, the only thing I need to do is to have a talk with the dragon council about the matter, I'm sure they are gonna get crazy when they find out a mare wants to use a dragon with the sole purpose of making her country powerful enough to rule over all the other lands".
"That could take some time..." interjected Twilight,"even when the council is the most organized group of dragons ever known, all the members live too far away from the dragonlands. if the dragon lord calls a council meeting it would take some months for them to get there, in the worst case the meeting will begin a month before the summer sun celebration".
The white mare got up, "then we have enough time, the princess needs two more years before the dragon turns twenty-one, the legal age for conceiving in the country" she looked up at the clock on the wall which marked three with eighteen minutes, "there is not much time for me left, but before I go there is something I need to clarify".
The white mare got close to Spike, she looked at his emerald eyes again, but this time she seemed normal, which put Twilight at ease.
"I'm sorry for how I acted, but you must know that even when I looked like I was enjoying the act of touching your scales, I was actually scared" she said before drifting her eyes up and look at Twilight, "The drug inhibits the control over our actions, but on the inside we are conscious of everything, it's like a mental prison..."
Celestia approached the white maid pony and hugged her, "hang in there, my faithful subject" she asked the mare while lifting her chin, "you have done a great job so far, and believe me, once this is all over, you will not have to worry about working anymore, I would make sure to give you everything that you deserve" the princess assured, making the mare smile like before.
"Thanks your highness, I'll do my b-"
Spike jumped to hug the mare, "I don't know how to thank you properly for all the things you had to struggle so far. For the moment all I can do is this" he tightened his tender grip, "but when this is over you can ask me for anything, I promise I'll help you as soon as I can".
"hi... his touch~ is so warm... yes~" the white mare moaned, "my goddess this feels good..."
Luna casted another pacifying spell on the mare while Twilight teleported Spike out of her hoofs. Spike apologized again for his actions as soon as the mare got back from her previous lust driven state. Because of the overdoses, the mare couldn't hang herself properly, much less speak. Cadance offered her help after noticing the mare condition, and alongside luna, they carried the white pony outside the room to the train station.
After that only Twilight, Celestia, and a sleepy Spike remained in the room.
"Well then, I think this was everything I needed to know today right?" Twilight guessed.
"And the information you gave me about the dragons was everything I needed my fellow princess," Celestia added while taking the jar and glasses, "if you and Spike can convince the council to help us, then all our troubles will be solved"
"And then what's next?" Asked Twilight, "With all the commotion about the Saddles Arabians I feel like there is something bigger I'm forgetting".
Celestia looked at a quizzical matter to the purple alicorn, "Maybe the lack of sleep is affecting you Twilight. For my part, once this is all over I'm gonna make public the true age of my son alongside his noble status as a prince. Now, if you want to also make public your current relationship with my son, that's fine for me".
Twilight looked at Spike, he was holding as best as he could to not fall at sleep, "well, we are not exactly into a relationship" she commented.
Spike looked back at Twilight, a blush making its appearances on his cheeks, "I don't know Twi, after what you said to Cadance... you just keep making it hard for me to not love you back..." he said, his blush turning crimson red, just as Twilight cheeks currently were.
Celestia just laughed at the duo while taking her leave off the room, "Seriously, mortal shenanigans never cease to amaze me" She laughed some more while closing the door.
Now the duo was alone and without any pony near to interrupt them. Spike scratched his back, feeling uneasy about his next words.
"I now that I tell you that we will train your control over Greed tomor... well today, but... can we forget that for a couple of hours? After all that the things that happened... I think I need a fluffy partner to sleep with".
Twilight hugged Spike tenderly and used her magic to close the door that led to the balcony while at the same time levitating both of them to the bed. after letting the drake rest on his side, she kissed his forehead and got back to her previous snuggle.
"I don't think I need to answer that kind of question if it comes from you" Twilight said with a smile before turning off the lights of the room and tucking both of them into sleep.
Chapter 8: A party to remember
Spike found himself uncomfortable in the place he was sleeping, ' since when I sleep while standing up? ' he thought. After he opened his eyes he noticed another subtle change in his room, aside to the fact that it wasn't his room, "that smell... is a fragrance..." he recognized the perfume hanging in the air, "but I haven't smelled this kind of fragrance before..."
'Mmm... talking makes me go tired... ' he thought while looking around 'wait... are those handcuffs on my claws? what the hell happened yesterday? '
the previous day in the afternoon
There had been a big celebration in the castle of friendship in honor of the group of reformed villains that had saved Equestria from a changeling attack. All the guests were ponies and reformed changelings who were involved in the event. By now the party was starting to fade.
'I remember. Starlight, Thorax, Discord and Trixie... all of them got their medals for saving us. Then I danced with Sweety Belle like we use to do in all the partie ' Spike recalled ' Then Twilight asked mom for help... why she did it? oh, yeah, Starlight, She graduated that same day... then after that was.... '.
During the end of the party, Celestia, Spike and Luna had a conversation that luckily went unnoticed by most guests because of the loud music.
"Are you sure mom? I know that we have all the cards in our favor since the dragon council agreed to help us, but we should wait to see-"
Celestia interrupted his son with an assuring hoof, "don't worry sweetheart, A guard just came some hours ago with a letter from the king of Saddle Arabia. To simplify all the king's fancy writings and poetry, we don't have any kind of compromise with his land anymore".
"So that... that means..."
Luna grabbed a cup and spoon and disposed herself to gather the attention of the guests of the party, "May we have your attention?!" Luna cheered, "Celestia and I have another important announcement for all of you".
Spike and Celestia approached Luna's side. Spike situated himself in the middle of his adoptive parents; he was still anxious, but really happy for what was about to come.
Meanwhile his best friends got themselves in the frontline, just as if destiny told them how important was for Spike to see them there in that exact moment. Twilight was as eager and happy as Pinkie Pie was, the only difference between the two mares, was that one of them knew what was about to happen. The other four just smiled and waited for the best after seeing how happy was her purple friend.
"Ponies and gentlecolts," Celestia started,"today, my sister and I want to apologize to all of you for a fact that we have been keeping secret from all of you since a long time".
"We will explain our reasons for this more properly in the future" continued Luna, "but for now let us present to all of you, the prince of Equestria".
"And also the twenty years old dragon we all know and love!" Celestia Said while Spike moved a step forward.
"Spike The Dragon!" Both princesses cheered.
"Spike Is twenty years old!?" The party mare shouted at the same time that the shy pegasus.
"Spike is- he is a- a-" Rarity stuttered before falling dramatically; Rainbowdash and Applejack hold the white unicorn before she could hit the ground, meanwhile their brains tried to recompose from the revelation.
"ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Twilight rambled with joy before recomposing herself. After that she cleared her throat and turned to see the attendants of the party, "That's not everything everyone! there is another important announcement for today!".
'It took me a lot of time to accept it. I always thought that the fact that loving six mares was a bad thing, so I decided to just cherish for their happiness ' Spike thought, he finally was starting to recover his energy,'I was so blind in the presumption that I didn't deserve the love from them, that I forgot that denying their feeling towards me was even worse that loving the six of them like a wild animal that craves a herd '
'Besides, I can always figure out how to make them happy while giving Twilight her own happiness ' he smiled, before looking again at the handcuffs. He tried to use his fire, but a piercing pain blasted his stomach the second he tried to generate fire.
"Ahg..." he whined and groaned in pain, "the buck was that? I don't understand... how did I get in this situation? come on Spike, remember!"
"Spike is not only a prince" Twilight said while walking to her dragon's side, "he is also" she grabbed Spike with her right hoof into a hug, "my drakefriend!" she shouted to the sky with a smile that could rival the ones of Pinkie Pie.
A series of cheers, clops, praisings shouts, and a gasp—which came from a white unicorn that had just fainted for real this time— echoed inside the castle. Meanwhile, in the back of the multitude, the reformed villains were celebrating the news.
"Wow, that's great Starlight, now you live with not one, but two royal figures! And to think that a prince has made food for Trixie," The blue magician told her friend, noticing seconds later that her pink friend wasn't responding,"Starlight? it's everything alright?"
"Ah... yeah... I just need some time to take this all in..." The pink unicorn said with concern, "I think I need a drink...".
Back at the front of the stage, Pinkie grabbed Spike while Twilight was distracted with the cheers.
"Spike you are an adult!" She shouted before embracing the little dragon in a crushing bear hug.
"Yeah... I'll turn twenty-one after..." Spike said between gasps.
Twilight saw the two as Spike’s face began to change color due to lose air, and was about to reprimand the party pony for her addiction to death gripping tight hugs, but Rainbow and Applejack asked Twilight to help them with the unconscious fashionista first.
The party mare released the dragon for a second and held him in front of her, "In four months and seven days!" she continued Spike's previous sentence while said dragon took the chance to grab more air before the inevitable second hug came for him.
"Oh, oh, oh! I need to prepare everything for your next party, I heard from the Bisons that dragons are resistant to alcohol, so I will better start-" Pinkie explanation was cut short by a yellow hoof, "yeah Flutters?".
"uhm..." the shy caretaker stuttered,"can I hug Spike too? well, that is if he doesn't bother of course..." she asked somewhat embarrassed.
"Yeah, sure!" Pinkie said before handling the happy to be released dragon to her friend.
Spike hugged Fluttershy by instinct. It was something so common to the dragon that he forgot how his friends may think of this kind of action now; as evident by the fact the shy pegasus's face was currently red as a tomato.
"Ahm... so all those time I hugged you and slept wi-wi" Fluttershy stuttered, her next words interrupted by a rainbow trace that took Spike out of her hug and up into the air.
"What's up Spike?!" Asked Rainbow Dash to the confused dragon.
"ahm... seems like us..." The drake tried to make a joke.
"Nope, just you. Oh boy, you are the dragon of the party now!" she cheered, "Just look at them; they are all astonished by the news" she said before releasing a laugh, "well except Rarity, she just fainted right there... oh man and look at Starlight, JAJAJA".
Spike looked at the distraught pink unicorn at the distance, she was drinking the punch like her life counted on it, "what happened to her?"
"I don't know, but she is the funniest to look at" The cyan pegasus laughed some more. Unluckily for her, she didn't notice the rope that tightened around her belly, "wait, what is-".
The apple farmer took a hold of the rainbow maned pegasus and brought her to the ground, catching the young dragon just before he could land on the floor.
"Well, well, well~ look what we have here, the best liar I have ever met in my short life," Applejack greeted the dragon with a slightly angry look on her face. “How are you handling yourself, mister 'I am a baby dragon'?"
Spike grinned nervously and rubbed the back of his head. It hadn’t occurred to him that lying to a mare who valued honesty above all else might have been a bad idea. "Sorry about that, I think it was something natural for me after all those years in Canterlot telling everyone I was a baby" Spike commented, "Sorry to lie to you and all the others, but there were some serious issues about my royal status and my age."
Applejack’s mock anger quickly turned into a smile as she rubbed Spike’s head. “It’s alright Sugarcube. Much as I don’t like lying; I’ve learned that once in a while y’all can’t avoid it.”
Thorax, Discord and BigMac approached Spike and Applejack as they talked, each of them had a lot to celebrate and talk with their friend about the sudden revelations of today.
'After an hour Rarity woke up. She hugged me and gave me her best wishes for my relationship with Twilight. After that... she went off to the boutique after telling us that she couldn't bare anymore big news for the day '.
'Now that I remember, there was something odd in her expression... just like with Fluttershy, but I didn't have much time to talk with her either, all the others ponies assaulted me with their question after Rarity's departure ' Spike recalled. He was finally conscious again and the effect of the smelly room was useless against him by now, but something still lingered in his mind. After all the things that happened the previous day, the last thing he did was to get to his bed early, there was no reason that he could remember that would lead him to wake up in this weird place.
There was a squeaky sound, like an old wooden door produces when it is open. The sound was followed by a blinding light that burned Spike's eyes.
"Night vision!" he whined in pain,"bad against flashlights and such..."
"Miss. Dust," said the mature sound of a mare, "The drake just awoke, and it looks like that sleeping poison wore out".
A group of six mares entered the room, in the middle of them there was a brown unicorn with a red mane. Spike managed to visualize the scarlet eyes of the mare who was in front of him; she also had a gold tiara and necklace, both of the accessories were covered in garnet dust from what the perceptive nose of Spike could tell.
"Oh my..." the brown mare said, her voice was regal and more mature than how she looked, "so, it was true... I didn't want to look at you until you were awake. A good decision on my part, otherwise..." she started to take long breaths, "I..."
"Ahm... excuse me, who are you, and where I am?" Spike asked concerned but trying to sound as regal as possible, "from your voice, I deduce that you must be a noble, my name is Spike".
The brown mare smiled wickedly "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Prince Spike, my name is Jade Dust, the princess of Saddle Arabia" she presented herself.
Spike's eyes went wide in terror, the pieces weren't completely clear in his head, but he sure was sure of something.
'I'm in danger here ' he thought in a rush before stuttering his next words, "Ye-yeah, its a pleasure to meet you too, princess!" Spike tried to move his claw in an attempt to shake her hoof, "Oh, sorry, I think I need my claw for that, could one of your followers help me with these handcuffs?"
"Don't worry we will help you" Jade assured him, "girls, go get the drinks, and also... bring the traitor, I have something special for her".
"Traitor?" Spike asked before he noticed that playing innocently would not work,"Okay, enough. I know something bad is happening here, tell me what you want" he demanded.
The princess stood still for a moment, her previous smile turning into a disturbed face filled with desire, "oh. I like how that sounded, but you need to be more aggressive my little dragon".
"You don't have the right to call me like that. now explain yourself. do you know the consequences of these actions? your country is gon-" Spike's mouth was interrupted by Jade's lips, which he quickly pushed away. "what th- what the buck is wrong with you?"
"Oh. little precious scales, this is all me, my kingdom has nothing to do with it, and don't worry, once this is all over I would gladly go to my own cell if its needed" she said with a cooing voice.
"I don't understand why do you want me?" Spike lied, recalling the fact that he isn't supposed to know the princess's motives for her actions.
"You should know by now, don't you? after all, White Breeze told you everything about me and my ambition" The Princess said while her hoof traced a line from Spike's chest to his crotch, "all I want is you to rut us to the point that my breeding spell has no chance to fail".
Spike groaned as the princess's rubbed his sensitive scales, "Like I would do that," he laughed at the princess's face. "I have been controlling my lust for more than ten years. It would take a miracle for you to manage to make me cum at least one time in less than twelve hours".
The brown unicorn just laughed at Spike words, confusing the poor dragon even more, "Oh, you are so cute~ thinking that I haven't thought of your resistance to carnal desires," she said. "Don't you see it little dragon? I made many preparations for this meeting beforehand... from my father's letter to the changeling attack on your kingdom. How do you think they managed to move with that amount of tropes all through Equestria to Ponyville without being noticed?".
A couple of knocks came from the door. "My original plan was to help Chrysalis. With the only condition that she would bring you to my hoofs; but just in case she failed I commanded two of my best followers to wait in your room on the castle. Unluckily for me; the fact that the queen failed means that I have less time to enjoy our time together, but don't worry. I'll make it worth it." The red maned unicorn explained before telling her followers to come in.
The group of mares that were previously with the princess returned with two saddle bags filled to the brim with potions, but most importantly for the purple dragon, they had the white mare that worked as a spy. The mare looked beat up, there were brushes and scars on her flanks and fore hooves. Alongside that, her hair looked distraught, like someone had been pulling on it with great force for a long time, and her dress was now just pieces of cloth that was remaining together purely by luck.
"My lord we have the traitor and the potions," the group of mares said before looking at Spike with hungry eyes, "which of us will be the one to go first with the drake?".
Jade took one of the potions from the saddles bags, popped it open, and put it near Spike's mouth,"Well, since our little White Breeze was so kind as to tell us Spike's potential" she paused for a moment in order to clamp Spike's nose, "I say to let her have the first time."
"Please, don't do it, I have a fiance!" Breeze pleaded between sobs, "I'm sorry Spike, I tried to resist their interrogation, but their drugs are too strong, no matter what they do to you, don't drink it!".

Only three remained in the room, Spike was agape, trying hard to not break again after what he just witnessed. Twilight by her part, just realized now the consequences of her action. By what she knew, all the member of the cult could be dead by now, and even if they are alive... is impossible to find them because of the infinite amount of dimensions.

Chapter 9: Amending my habits
Ten in the morning at the friendship castle map room, Starlight Glimmer, the newly graduated student in friendship and official reformed villain, was situated alongside the two most regal beings of Canterlot, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
Not long ago, the alicorns had presented themselves in the castle to take Spike to Canterlot in order to make official his new noble status. But they only found a disturbed Twilight who had just searched all through Ponyville and her own castle for her companion with no avail. The worst thing for her was the fact that she couldn't feel him with the hoarding sense no matter how hard she tried.
The princess of the sun tried to calm her, telling her that she could use a letter to find him with the dragon mail spell. Unfortunately for the three alicorns every letter that Celestia tried to send just turned back at her with her own magic, meaning that Spike couldn't receive the letter. That kind of situation was only possible if the dragon couldn't breathe fire.... or if he was dead. Obviously, the mention of the later caused Twilight to enter a frenzied state.
Fortunately for the trio, the amount of chaos inside Twilight’s psyche was enough to disturb the embodiment of chaos itself, Discord. After a short and panicked explanation from the purple alicorn, Discord proposed to help them find the drake with his magic.
Back in the present, the three mares were waiting for the drake and the alicorn to come back. The only remarkable thing between the trio was that only one of them did not know what was really happening.
"It has been an hour since she teleported..." Starlight commented before looking at the princess of the sun, "I know that Discord helped her with the amount of magic needed for the spell to go that far, but... what about the way back here?" she asked worried, "Besides, why would she go alone?".
"Twilight is capable of teleporting back here with her own magic if needed," Celestia said with pride and a smile on her face, ignoring the last question of the pink unicorn. Her sister, on the other hand, wasn't so eager to show a calm pose.
"I don't know how you keep that look on your face sis" Luna glared at her sister.
"Luna, everything is alright" She muttered to her sister, "We know how this could end if they know the truth, so just pretend that there are no reasons to worry about anything".
Starlight only got more confused after not being able to hear Celestia's mumbles. Her previous question still lingered in her head, what was Twilight’s reason to go alone to Saddle Arabia? Better yet, why was Spike there? And most importantly, how did he get there? It was impossible for him to travel that far in the little time remaining after the previous day’s party had ended.
Starlight tried to pay no mind to her worries and focused on something else. While doing so she noticed that the confections and decorations of the previous party were still mounted.
"I thought that Pinkie would get rid of these this morning".
"You called?" A pink pony mare covered in flour and sugar stains appeared behind Starlight; startling the young unicorn in the process.
"Pinkie!" She squeaked, "by the goddess, someday I'm gonna prove that you can use chaos magic too" She glared with mild anger to the joyful party pony before her frown changed to a smile,"ahg, it's hard to get angry at you".
"I know, not even I can get angry with myself" she smiled some more before adding,"believe me, I have tried. Oh, before I forget, I was in the kitchen cleaning all the remaining plates and silverware from yesterday. Originally I was only supposed to clean the main room and the map room and Spike was going to clean the kitchen, but unluckily for me he was dragonnaped".
Both princesses and the unicorn went wide eyed at the party pony's comment, "What are you talking about Pinkie? Spike wasn't-" Celestia tried to dismiss the party mare words with a lie but was interrupted in the middle of it.
"That won't work with me~," Pinkie Pie said in a sing-song tone, "I got here even before you two came searching for Spike. And from what I could hear from Twilight's desperate mumbles it sounded like our little dragon is in trouble. By the way, I just told Rainbow to gather the others. They should be here in five minutes".
Suddenly the door to the map room was forcefully opened by the white fashionista. Making a huge thud sound that echoed through the room; the white unicorn didn't have time to worry about her currently badly done mane and just rambled as she walked toward the other ponies, taking huge breaths while doing so.
"Oh, I guess I miscalculated..." Pinkie Pie commented before shrugging,"meh, I'm not good at math after all."
"Where is Spike? Who dragonnaped him and why? I want to know everything!" demanded the distraught designer.
Luna glared again at her sister, "I told you, the best course of action was to tell them after Twilight's departure"
"Discord told us that he was still alive," Celestia glared back at her sister "I didn't want to tell them because there is no reason to do so if he is safe," she muttered between gritted teeth.
"It's still bad, what if he is alive but heavily injured? We don't have to be so hideous about this anymore 'Tia" Luna argued back, not noticing that the rest of the elements were already in the room.
"Ahem," the farmer cleared her throat loudly. The two alicorn were now conscious of the number of ponies that were hearing their little argument. Applejack for her part wasn't in the mood to hear anymore lies. "Y'all better explain what is happening here ya he'r me? And don't try to lie to us again about Spike’s secret life".
Celestia went from astonished to apologetic after hearing Applejack demanding in her concerned voice, she sighed and nodded to her sister.
Luna cleared her throat and watched at the bearers, "First of all, Spike is still alive. Discord used most of his energy today to make sure about that." Fluttershy and Rarity sighed in content before Celestia continued, "But that doesn't mean he is unharmed" the group frowned slightly at that comment, "I think is better if I start from the beginning, what do you say sis?"
"Yes, now that there is no turning back it is better if we just tell them everything," Celestia said before both Luna and her prepared to explain all the problems they had in the past with the foreign country.
Tweenty minutes later
"And that's everything... the best case scenario, which I don't think this is, is that there was a misunderstanding on the part of the Saddle Arabians. However the most possible case is..." Luna stopped for a moment.
"The most plausible case is that the obsessed Princess violated our agreement and went against her own family in order to have Spike for herself." Celestia ended her younger sister last sentence.
"If that is the case then the only thing we need to do is go there and kic-"
Rainbow Dash words were interrupted suddenly by a magic bubble appearing in the middle of the room, taking the entire space on which the map laid, the bubble soon dissipated into purple dust leaving in its place three figures: a white mare covered with a white silk, a purple dragon, big as Celestia herself, and Princess Twilight, who was on the dragon’s back and taking some air to replenish her strength after wasting so much magic in her last teleport spell.
The ponies who were sat around the table stood agape at the dragon's appearance, most of them just kept astonished, and a little amused, at the features of the grown dragon, while only two of the group stood in shock for another reason. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were the ones that among the others noticed that something was wrong with the dragon in front of them, the dragon which in no doubt was Spike; but they noticed that his eyes and facial features exhibited something.
He was broken...
Fluttershy's many years of work with animals made her aware by sight alone which ones had seen the horrors of death... also the fact that she could speak with the wild creatures of the forest made her acknowledge another fact about what was currently happening to Spike. He hadn’t faced death... he experimented something much worse.
Pinkie was none the wiser when it came to understanding animals or mythical creatures, but her expertise on parties and making everyone happy had trained her to have and unusual sense that allowed her to know at a glance the mental condition of someone without having to rely on deep psychologist therapist and long talks. Yet even with all her training and expertise in the matter, this was the first time she had witnessed someone looking as hopeless as Spike looked.
"Spike" Fluttershy asked first,"what happened to him?".
"Don't you see it? he looks super strong right now" Rainbow Dash said, granting a nod from the orange farmer.
"And I must say that his new shape looks a little more alluring..." Rarity blushed,"though, I still prefer the little and cute Spickey wickey".
"ARE YOU ALL BLIND?!" Shouted Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, startling the group. "Spike is broken" Commented the pink mare, "He looks like he suffered something worse than any kind of punishment that Tartarus could offer" added Fluttershy.
Celestia watched over the situation carefully. The two mares were right. The eyes in her son reflected feelings that she had only witnessed when she fought against King Sombra's army. Soldiers who were forced into battle against their will and witnessed immeasurable pain they had never wanted to see because of it. Realizing that Spike couldn't make proper words in that kind of state and that her former student had expensed more of her energy, she looked at the last one of the group, White Breeze.
"It seems like neither Spike or Twilight can speak right now, White Breeze could you explain to us what happened in Saddle Arabia?" Asked the princess of the sun.
The white earth pony watched the duo, then at the bearers of the elements, and finally to the princess. "Jade Dust and her cult dragonnaped Spike. After that they poisoned him, making him unable to use his fire. Then they forced him to take drugs... a high amount of drugs... then..."
Two tears traveled down Breeze's muzzle. The silence that followed made the mares shiver in suspense.
...
"They forced him to rape me... and then they raped him, one by one. They forced him to drink more of that drug as soon as they noticed that he was starting to resist it, from what I heard... his consciousness faded away... more times than I could count" White Breeze looked at the dragon again, " it is just a miracle that he is still capable of thinking".
Celestia held the white pony with her magic and brought her to a motherly hug, hushing the sobs of Breeze with caution.
“I was blind to my mistakes your highness. The cult discovered my facade and used me to create a trap. If it weren’t for me, they would have never know about Spike’s potential and would have forgotten him...” White Breeze said between sobs.
“No, White, it wasn’t your fault. You knew that it was a dangerous mission, and you suffered a lot, but you are still alive.” Celestia looked at Breeze and cleaned the tears from her eyes, “I will make sure to compensate you and your family for your heroic act and services to the crown. Now rest... you have earned it.”
White Breeze nodded to her Lord. Taking the last of her strength, she looked at Spike with a reassuring smile, “Mr. Spike, you were a victim in this, just like me, so don’t you ever think that you were the one hurting me back then”.
“Thanks Breeze.. you don't know how happy those words make me” Spike said exhausted, his voice akin to the whispering tone of Fluttershy.
While Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy cried their hearts out, the others bearers and the princesses just stood with anger.
"We think better of how the word war sounds now. It sounds like the most righteous and finest of acts." Luna said. The anger deep within her began showing on her now darkened mane.
"As a member of the wonderbolts I fully support the idea your highness," commented Rainbow Dash in a military tone.
"Don't know about the farm, but if there is war to fight because of this you can count on the fact that I will be in the first line giving some bucks to those degenerates" Added Applejack.
"There is no need to make a war" Twilight muttered with a raspy voice.
Twilight's friends smiled at the purple unicorns reaction. They had begun to wonder how long it would be before she moved.
"Darling how good to hear your voice" Cheered The fashionista before taking the alicorn with her magic,"We better move you to a comfortable place".
As soon as Twilight's body left Spike side, he panicked and grabbed the alicorn again in mid-air, using his fees as before, he stood on two legs and hugged the princess.
"Don't leave me!" Shouted the dragon, wearing a raspy voice just like Twilight, their earlier sobs and loud cries let their throats damaged since the morning.
"Oh dear..." commented the shy pegasus, "it's worst than what I expected".
"Spike, everything is alright" Assured Starlight who finally was starting to step out of her shock,"Twilight needs to properly rest".
Twilight signaled a dismissing hoof to the pink unicorn. "Don't worry about me, some big spells are no trouble for me. Spike is the one that really needs to recover." Rarity released her magic hold on the alicorn, leaving her to the embrace of Spike. The adorable view of the hugging duo subdued some of the rage boiling in the room. They knew that the top priority was to take care of them first.
" I wasn't resting on Spike's back, he was the one that asked me to stay there while casting the spell" Twilight explained while rubbing the scales on Spike’s back.
Fluttershy got near to the duo to closer inspect the disturbing features that Spike presented, "Spike, I know this will be hard for you, but you need to get out of your comfort zone. Your friends are here, you don't have anything to worry about."
Spike heard the pegasus words, but Twilight noticed that he was still frightened, "Don't worry big guy, it’s just like Shy said, you are are safe here."
"Twilight, I'm not only scared for what they did to me, the thing is that the drug effects are still active, in this state I’m not so confident about myself anymore".
"It would be only a moment" She reassured him before putting a little peck on his muzzle,"I need to send a letter to Zecora, she is the only one that will now how to clean the poison out of your system, besides we need to explain what happened back in there in Saddle Arabia".
Spike released Twilight and stood quite for a moment until his gaze went to Fluttershy's eyes. Twilight asked her former student to bring some scrolls and then asked Rainbow Dash to be the one to get the message to the alchemist zebra. In the time between Twilight’s askings, the purple dragon was showing good signals to the shy mare beside him, his eyes finally were starting to shine again; unknown for both, that shine was actually signaling another kind of message.
"You are worthy..." mumbled Spike unconsciously, getting nearer to the Pegasus.
"Spike?" she said in a quiet town before being pulled into the dragon's claws.
Spike held Fluttershy close to his face, he was looking at her like a poor would look at a chest filled with bits, his eyes danced trough her entire figure, looking from the tender and thick flanks to her soft belly and finally to the beautiful and fragile features of her face. The group was confused by this behavior and found impossible to react properly.
"An angel..." he mumbled.
"hum... Spike?" she whispered.
"No... you are more than that, you are a kindness mare with the heart of a humble hero, always protecting the ones that are weak, and surpassing your own limits in order to defend the ones that you love... like a flower you have grown from a fragile and shy sprout to a full grown and beautiful rose, a strong Arcangel who’s shine show righteousness and kindness. Fluttershy... you are worthy" Spike said as his muzzle got closer to the shy mare.
Twilight stood perplexed at the dragon's flatterings at first, only to recall Spike's true feelings towards his friends.She tried to think for a moment about the repercussions of the drugs with Spike's current actions. but another unexpected event stopped her brain from functioning properly.
"Twilight," Shouted Starlight while entering the room,"I just found the sc...".
Just as the ones in the room, Starlight jaw dropped at the sight of the dragon and the caretaker pegasus. Spike was softly kissing the shy mare while his claws caressed her back.
Fluttershy found herself panicking at first, the dragon’s grip on her and his new appearance made her feel like she was in the grasp of a hungry predator. His slitted eyes and pointy teeth didn't help the situation either. Until she noticed something, even with his new appearance the hug was still comforting and heartwarming. His touch gave her the same feeling that the old Spike always had. It make her relax for a moment, knowing that Spike was still inside that new form. Her body was no longer tense and she started to like the caressing of the young dragon. Lost in the drake’s ministration and warm scales she forgot the world around her and started to reciprocate the kiss. Fluttershy pushed her muzzle against his. Pressing the front part of her body against him as she cooed softly. Her worries and fears seemed to melt away as her mind focused on Spike's sweet scaly lips.
Spike snapped out of his trance after sensing Fluttershy moans travel through the kiss, he shoved his friend out of his grasp and started to hyperventilate in fear.
"Oh, no no, not again, Fluttershy I'm sorry I- I..." he rambled his words in a frenzy, insecurity creeping down in his psyche while he hugged himself as a measure to control his actions.
Twilight took the dragon and cast a magic shield around him, "Spike calm down, look, I concealed you inside this shield, I won't let you hurt anyone" Twilight said to Spike before watching to Fluttershy's side, "Are you ok Fluttershy?"
The yellow pegasus nodded shyly while the blush in her muzzle only deepened into a crimson red color; Twilight wondered that she should be worried, even angry, about her friend's reaction to Spike's kiss, but right now it wasn't the time for that.
"Okay, Spike, you should rest in that bubble. you have been through a lot lately, so I would explain everything to our friends"
Spike got confused for a moment, "Are you not mad at me because of... you know..." he trailed off, trying to not say the obvious part.
"There is a lot in my mind, Spike, that's for sure, but I don't want to go deeper into that matter for our own good" Twilight paused, 'I’m not sure if this is the best of occasion to tell everyone about your feelings towards the girls either ' she thought before resuming, "besides, you can't control yourself properly yet so I think that you aren't completely guilty about it. The real deal right now is explaining what happened back there after the princess went missing".
The group, except for Fluttershy that was still red as a tomato, furrowed their brows in confusion.
"She is missing? Yeah right, more like she went hiding to the most remote place so I can't kick the living hell out of her" the angry rainbow maned pegasus commented.
Twilight shoved a dismissing hoof to her friend, "No, Rainbow. She didn’t go into hiding on her own will because I sent her to that unknown location myself" Twilight explained.
"You what?!" both princess almost spat her shout, Luna’s hate thoughts dissipated from her mind after the shock of Twilight’ss words hit her.
"Ugh... I know, I know it was reckless from my part to use a multidimensional traveling spell, and I know that it was even worse because I only used it out of anger against the princess and her cult-"
"Twilight do you know the implications of those actions?" Luna asked to the tired alicorn.
"I know I know. Let me explain. While I was using the cleanse spell on Whitea Breeze and Spike".
"Cleanse spell?" Rarity asked intrigued, interrupting the conversation in the process.
"I needed to clean the remaining substance in their bodies before teleporting us back" Twilight said with uneasiness in her tone.
"Substances? like the remainings of the drug?" Rarity furrowed her questioning, only receiving an embarrassed look from the trio.
"I think that Twilight's mean the sem-"
"Okey Pinkie, I don't really want to this conversation to take that way!" Twilight interrupted the pink mare before she made the conversation more uncomfortable than how already was.
"Friends please; this is important," scolded the princess of the sun, "I just send a letter to the king after Twilight’s departure in order to get some answer. In the process, we had to announce that Twilight was there in the first place. If the kingdom gets to know that the princess is-".
"The royal family already knows it" Twilight interrupted.
Booth sister did a double take and stayed stuck for a second, Celestia was the first one to recompose,"Then how is that they- no, we are just running in circles here, just explain us everything Twilight there will be no more interruptions" The Princess declared with authority.
Twilight took one of the scrolls that Starlight brought and started writing the letter to Zecora, "Like I was saying," she started explaining while writing, "after cleaning Spike and Breeze, I took a moment to gather the energy required to teleport us back here, while doing so the king arrived. From what I know, it seems like the pony that worked with the ones making the drugs caught the cult stealing his last stash. The pony followed the group and after witnessing what they were doing he made his way to the king. It took him a lot of time to get pass the guards and tell everything to the king".
Spike signaled a claw to Twilight, "let me continue" he mumbled to her. Twilight nodded to his petition and released him from the bubble for the meantime.
"The moment the king arrived he started rambling to his daughter about the consequences of her actions. When he didn’t get a response he noticed that she and the whole cult weren’t there. He looked at me with fear, fear that turned into confusion, confusion that brought rage. He demanded us to tell him what happened to his daughter. I knew things could turn really bad for Twilight so I took the role of the guilty one and-".
Twilight sobs and quiet sniffs stopped the dragon's explanation, "why?" she mumbled.
Spike enhanced senses caught Twilight's words, "Twilight, it was the best thing to do. You didn't deserve to pay for the things they did me."
"Haven't you suffered enough?!" Twilight shouted with mild anger, "I didn't have the time to say something, I was so broken inside after seeing you like that. You on the other hoof? You were the one heavily damaged. You were the one raped mentally and physically, and even in that state you stood there strong like a diamond!" she laughed in tears, the memory brought mixed feelings to her mind. Her own impotence at the moment, and the fact that Spike thought of her before himself, even when he was more distraught than her.
Fluttershy and the rest stood silent while watching the scene. There was a lot that confused them since the explanation wasn't over, but they chose to let them speak the contents of their hearts. After all, the conversation only cemented that they needed to talk about this before ever thinking about getting back to Ponyville.
"Do you even thought of what the king would have to do to you? Twilight you are the new princess of the kingdom, but even before that, most citizens thought of you as a humble mare that had risked her own hoofs more than one time for the sake of Equestria. A heroine who holds no political power in reality" Spike paused, "Worst scenario he would have given you the same kind of treatment that her daughter received. Heck, not even the punishment that I received from him is light enough to pass it to you".
"I never asked to be a princess anyway!" Twilight exclaimed, "You were training your whole life in order to be a prince!"
"Wait what are you two trying to say?!" Celestia asked to deaf ears and fins. their discussion was slowly putting all the pieces together, and the resolved puzzle didn't look good for the princess in the slightest.
"Twenty years are nothing for a dragon!" Spike argued back, "in two hundred years everyone would forget this and I can be a prince again if I want to".
"Why you bucking lizard"she started hitting him in the chest, her shivering hoofs and shaking blows didn't hurt Spike physically, albeit his mind was taking every hit as a cannonball, " you altruist bastard... the fact that you are immortal doesn't mean that you can go there forgiving everyone like the only one that would suffer for it is you" Twilight said between sobs, "I was the one guilty, even if I was commanded to search for that sick mare between time and space through the multiverse... even if I only have a day to be with you and the others... at least if that is the case... we could still be...".
The scroll on which Twilight was writing was now covered in incomprehensible words and draws. Spike hugged her and let her words sink in his psyche for a moment before watching at his friends and family.
"The king demanded I renounce myself as a prince. He thought that my actions were reckless, but considered my condition and the things that her daughter did to me... in the end I think his rage was only with himself for letting this to happen to his family, I think that he just didn't want to know anything related to her daughter’s actions for the time being... He was also a victim in this, so I accepted his demands" Spike paused to look at his mother,"We have two days to make the announcement public, and inform the papers".
"Spickey this has no senses at all" The fashionista exclaimed.
"Why do you have to pay for the things she did to you?" Fluttershy added.
"Yeah! That king is the one that should pay for her daughter's actions!" Pinkie Pie continued.
"Enough!" shouted Rainbow Dash, "I have enough of this, I'm gonna go there and give that king a piece of my mind rig-" Rainbow felt incapable of moving, a yellow aura was restraining her body,"Princess, I don't care if I have to fight with you too, so let me go unless you want to know why no one like's the true meaning behind the words 'taste the Rainbow' ".
"Have I ever told you that Spike is my favorite nephew?" Luna asked the now confused group.
"Spike had decided to save our relationship with the foreign land. I know my nephew enough to say that he did it because he doesn't want anypony to struggle, there are lot of merchant ponies earning their lives traveling between the two kingdoms, other ponies" she paused to look directly at Applejack,"needs seeds that don't are easy to gather here, and that are just some examples".
"When I was young, I knew that the ponies would enjoy the night in the future when technology and prosperity eventually allowed them to remain awake longer. But I was impatent and selfish. I failed as a true ruler, because a true ruler would have waited and endured the slings and arrows for the sake of their people. But I wasn't strong enough, I didn't have the kind of willpower to withstand the jealous feelings that swelled inside of me and ended up succumbing to darkness" Luna paused, "Spike has had to endure the same kind of feeling more times in his young life then anyone should. First he had to endure the fact that everyone thought of him as a time bomb, a wolf disguised as a sheep that could attack at any moment. Then, even after he was finally was recognized as someone reliable and trustworthy, he still had to endure a life of being treated like a child soley due to his stature and looks.”
Luna looked with tears in her eyes to her nephew,"He saved us from the dragons, and renounced to be their lord so he could stay here and protect the ones he loved. And now this... he sacrificed himself for the well-being of the ponies he cares, and for you Twilight" Luna took a huge breath in order to calm herself, "Spike is my favorite nephew because I want to learn from him, I look up to his conviction and determination, because I know that even when I'm hundreds of years older than him, he is more capable of being a ruler than I may ever be".
Celestia released Rainbow, "Just as Luna said, Spike decided to do this for the sake of Equestrians" Spike nodded to the group, "And just as he said, after some years all of this will be forgot, sweep by the infinite flow of time".
"But..." Twilight interrupted, "Because of his decision, I can't marry him if we ever decide to... "
Rarity got herself up from her seat and approached the duo, "Don't mind the formalities Twilight, a love relationship doesn't need to be bound to a paper to exist", She noticed how Spike winced and retreated with every step she took,"Is he going to be like this with every mare until he gets the drug outside his system?" she asked concerned.
Applejack noticed something important after Rarity made her question,"now that I think of it, Why is Spike not afraid of you, Twi?".
"that's because" Spike's eyes transformed again for a moment, "She is master..." he winced in pain after those words left his muzzle, his eyes returned to his natural form again, but the pain was still present... actually.
The pain had been there for a long time. Spike took a huge breath and tried to withstand the pain within his body. the fight between him and his instincts was wearing him out. But he didn't want that his friends knew that; if he could resist a little longer then...
"Your master?" Fluttershy asked with a frown, the way he said those words made her boil in anger for some reason, "what does he mean with that?".
"I... I don't know" Twilight lied while scratching the back of her head.
Fluttershy frowned,'No... You know why. I knew that something was weird beyond you two since that time Spike asked me about your behavior... '
"Maybe it's anoth-"
"Enough!" Fluttershy shouted, frightening all the presents, "I know when something is happening to a creature, Spike had always given me signs that something was wrong, he even asked me things in the past, things that I tried to forget... I tried to pay no mind out of my own shyness, but I can't stand it anymore. A dragon is not supposed to be dependent on others, even if he is a good one, the way Spike treat us, the way he always looks to be helpful, all those time he showed fear of being not necessary, even when I’m actually frightened of my own words”Fluttershy took a breath and calmed her tone before even she could get scared of herself, ” I need answers, Twilight Sparkle, I need to know why he had always looked like a slaved creature".
Spike watched the distraught Fluttershy, then looked at his concerned friends, and finally to the panic face that Twilight was wearing. Their faces only served to help his pain grow, he was at his limit at this point.
"Twilight... I'm gonna be selfish this time..." He said before taking one of the scrolls nearby and write a Spell combination, he passed the scroll to Twilight, who found herself shocked after reading the manuscript.
"Spike, this is-"
"Let me explain first..." he said to her, hushing her mouth with a finger, "Girls, right now, I'm suffering contractions in all my muscle, my body is trying to transform back to my usual self but the drug is fighting back. The spell that I gave to Twilight will put me to sleep for a long time while Zecora gets here and threats me, but that's not all." he took another breath and growled in pain for a moment, holding a claw in the air to Applejack who was about to get near, "I still have time to withstand the pain, but after I run out of it, I want to ask two selfish petitions, the first one is to use a memory spell, so I can forget everything related to my rape... that kind of spell is illegal to use".
"Don't worry we can let it slide for you" Celestia assured to his son.
"Thanks, mom" Spike smiled, "I will need you to fill the blank spaces in my memory, and make something up about my prince status. I don’t know if this is the right thing to do, but I want to get rid of those images as soon as posible".
Spike looked at the five bearers of the elements with a melancholic face before his eyes rested upon the yellow pegasus, "The other thing I want to do is even more selfish... Twilight, I want to confess something to our friends... Something very important that I need to get out of my chest".
Twilight drifted for a moment in thought, she knew what Spike was about to do, deep inside, she felt unsure, insecure of what those words could do to them, but.
"Do as you please, Spike, After all, I'm not one to stop any wish you have after acknowledging all the things that you had suffered", she said with a smile, releasing herself from their hug.
"Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash. When my mind lost itself into the oblivion the last thing I regretted, aside for not being strong enough to fight against my assaulters, was that I didn't tell you how much I" he paused and took another breath, "how much I love you".
"Don't worry squirt, we also care-" Rainbow Dash tried to say.
"Rainbow. I mean true love, like how I feel for Twilight" he stated with a serious tone.
The whole group stood astonished at the drake's confession, well, all but Pinkie Pie and Starlight; Pinkie Pie was actually smiling, feeling flattered by the Drake feelings towards her. Starlight by the other hoof wore a sad look on her face who quickly turned into a shocked, and obviously fake, one. The party mare was the only one to notice it but tried to let it slide for the moment.
"I know, I know it sounds weird, even bad. I tried to ask Ember about it but she did not have an answer either, dragons tend to only have one mate his whole life" he snickered, "but not this dragon, I guess. Fluttershy, if you want an answer of why I acted the way I did with you, was because I loved and still love you all; if you looked me like a creature trained to be a slave, it was because I was so lost in my lovestruck that I couldn’t properly hide how much I wanted to make you happy".
Twilight looked at her shy friend, she was blushing in crimson red while trying to make her jaw stay still, "Maybe I know why Spike felt for us six in the first place" she commented, taking the attention of everyone in the room, "I actually did some things to Spike, things that I'm not proud to say, neither I have the willpower to say them, but those actions maybe were the responsible for Spike’s feelings..." She looked at the dragon emerald eyes for a moment, "Spike, you said to me that you always had felt love for us, in your own words 'the kind of love that you hold for a friend or family', but you also told me that those feelings started to change after I did those unspeakable things to you...".
"Yeah, that is true, Twilight, maybe that was the reason," said the dragon a little uneasy while scratching his nose, "but either way there is no point anymore in trying to figure out why".
Twilight looked at his dragon with doubt, she didn't know how he was gonna take her next words, "Spike, the thing is, that there is a way to figuring it out..." she paused, "If I enhance the memory spell, I can clean the things I did to you".
"What?" Spike did a double take.
"Spike, the truth is that I never felt comfortable about... Well, us, after all, I forced our relationship, your feelings were a mess from the beginning because of me, and I just went as I pleased, knowing that your kind attitude would never say no to me".
"Then if you are gonna do it, erase the dreams too," Spike stated bluntly. Confusing Twilight in the process, she wasn't expecting that he would accept so easily. "I know that i have a tendency to make bad decisions, and the pain is making it hard for me to think straight too, that’s for sure, but I agree with you. Being honest, even before of all of this, my mind always found ways to make me think of the possibilities, 'what ifs' that always crept into my mind."
Spike groaned again and used a claw to support his head, "if you really love me, then taking my claws again will be easy for you. If I really love the girls just like I do to you, well, it will mean that the dreams had nothing to do with it, so your consciousness will be free of guilt" Spike concluded.
"Hold on you two!" Applejack exclaimed, "Are you two even hearing yourselves? Look I think that you two need to have a proper rest and cool your heads before making another decision."
Spike groaned again and held another claw against his forehead, he was barely standing up at this point, "yeah... rest sounds like- it sounds fine for me. Twi, for the mean time just put me asleep, I'm not capable of doing it myself with all the contractions breaking my body.”
"Sure thing Spike. Starlight, I'll need you to carry him to his bed after I cast the spell. I have to save some strength after all." Twilight said before forcing Spike into sleep.
"Oh, sure... just let me..." Starlight tried to lift the dragon but found a lot of resistance in the process, "Seems like his new body is magic proof... this is gonna take a while..."
The pink unicorn made her way outside the room, grunting every two or three steps because of the high amount of magic needed to hold the drake properly.
"Twilight, I think is best if we talk this with more caution, besides there are a lot of things that I didn't understand," The kind yellow mare said while getting up from her seat, "I'm gonna make some tea so we can take this more slowly okay?".
"I don't know Flutters, but I appreciate the fact that you all are concerned about it" Twilight commented.
The shy mare nodded and went to the kitchen alongside the pink mare.
Twenty minutes later
The girls had been talking with Twilight for a while, trying to convince her to take another path, but she only dismissed the idea time and time again; Starlight ended up being the one writing and sending the letter to Zecora. The princesses for their part used that time to sent White Breeze to the Canterlot hospital with the help of the royal guards that brought them to Poniville at the morning. Right now, the royal sisters were looking at the conversation and discussions, drinking some tea and eating a little cake that remained from the previous party.
"Common why you two don't say anything about this?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed to the royal sisters, "Spike is a member of your family right? so why aren't you worried about his brain being cleansed from the inside?"
Celestia and Luna glared at themselves for a moment, and then at the rainbow maned mare, "Actually, we think that Twilight is right", Celestia commented, making the group of five mares gasp, "Look, Twilight has been avoiding this matter since the beginning so I will say it: Twilight and Spike’s relationship is flawed. It started with doubts, discussions and a lot of effort. More than once they discovered that they felt true love for each other, but after hearing their idea about cleaning Spike's memory, I realize that the seed of doubt never left their brains".
Twilight signaled the princess to stop for a moment, "Sorry princess but doubt wasn't the thing that haunted us, it was the resentment of how it all started." Twilight paused for a moment to look at her friends, "Maybe, someday, I will have the courage to tell you what I did to him. But right now I want you to trust me."
Applejack was about to offer another solution, but Pinkie Pie interrupted her early.
"Twilight, I know that the girls are watching this from the logical point of view, and yes, I know that the right thing to do is stop you, but I don't care about what is the correct thing to do anymore, what I really want to know are two things: are you two really enjoying your relation as a couple?"
Twilight didn't know how to properly answer her friend, knowing how her hyperactive friend wasn't one for complex answers she decided to summarize as best as she could, "yes and no".
"Now the second question!" she declared, "do you think Spike will be happier if you do what you want to do to him?"
"I promise you Pinkie, he will be happier than he ever was," Twilight stated with a smile.
The pink mare known for her weird and incomprehensible ways of doing things, looked at the purple alicorn with a frown. Piercing her soul for a couple of seconds. The others were accustomed to this kind of behavior so they let her shenanigans take control of the situation for the moment.
Pinkie turned her frown to a smile, and in the blink of an eye, she shouted, "Then it's good to me! now let's go to ask Spike!" cheered the happy mare before being stopped by a magic blue aura, "hey!"
"There is no need of it Pinkie, Spike will tell you the same thing, I asked him a while ago through the realm of dreams" Luna explained before releasing the pink mare, "besides, if we wake him up, he will only suffer because of the after effects of the drugs".
"Seriously? Well then it's double fine for me" Pinkie shrugged before getting to her seat again.
"That makes one of us" Applejack commented, still unsure of Twilight idea, just like the other four.
The Orange mare took her hat and let it lay on the map, “Look Twi, It's not that I don’t like your idea, is just that I’m unsure of the righteousness of this spell. I like how this could mean that you two can form a new relationship from the beggining, but...” Applejack trailed off for a moment in her own past, “There is no much difference between hiding the truth and lying. Also, the whole thing about this magic being illegal makes me uneasy”.
Twilight furrowed her brows in thought, She hummed softly for a moment until an idea popped into her mind, "What about this!" she proclaimed, "it will take some time, but I can make a counter spell of the eraser. In order for this to work, I will block Spike memory instead of erasing them. The spell will need some time to properly work as I intend, so he will need to stay in the castle for a few days".
"I guess that you will tell him after the spell is complete that his memories were locked, right?" Applejack intrigued, granting a nod from Twilight as an answer.
"Exactly" Reaffirmed Twilight.
Applejack smiled again and return her Stetson hat were it belonged, “In that case, he will know that you two decided to forget the past in order to reform your mistakes. tIt also means that he can choose to know the truth at any time, that seems finds to me”.
"But just so you know, if he decides to forget everything again then I will not take this measures... otherwise he could end up with serious mental damage" Twilight mumbled the last part.
Rarity and Applejack were about to ask about Twilight last words, but the entrance of Zecora, alongside a cart filled to the brim with elixirs and ingredients of all kind, interrupted their line of thoughts.
"I came as quick as I could, to give the Drake his proper cure" Zecora gasped her forced rhyme. Starlight soon entered the room and looked at the girls.
"I explained to her everything I knew" Starlight assured, "Sorry for here so getting late, I asked her to use a teleport spell but she said that some e of her elixirs are extremely fragile" The pink unicorn explained, the calmed expression on her face showing that she used her magic to fly all the way to the castle. "So... how is everything here?"
"Before I answer that," Applejack commented, her eyes sitting upon Luna, "does Spike agree with this too?"
The princess of the moon closed her eyes for a moment, just to open them again with a smile, "you have the green light from him".
"More like green fire" Pinkie cheered, "Yay! no more boring talks!" She said before using a mini confetti cannon hidden inside her mane.
"Pinkie I haven-" Applejack paused for a moment and just shrugged to the whole situation, "ah, it doesn't matter, I agree with this, what about you girls?".
The girls just nodded in approbation, while Rainbow Dash just shrugged, "At least this feels more righteous that the first idea" she added.
"So, Spike is gonna forget all about the rape?" Starlight asked with expectation.
"Well yeah, he will also lose his memories about our relationship" Twilight added.
Starlight felt joy for the affirmation, but soon found herself ashamed to keep smiling once the next words of Twilight were spelled. "oh, sorry to hear that last part" She added with a blush on her face.
"Nothing to worry about Starlight, I can win his heart again in no time" Twilight assured with pride before getting off her seat, "I will tell you everything in the way to Spike room".
Some hours later
It was late afternoon at Equestria, and in the Friendship castle, two mares a zebra and an alicorn were watching at the drake in bed, welcoming him with joy while he was waking up. Spike was confused to see so many faces around him, the last thing he recalled was getting in his bed late at night, but now he could see the sun setting bellow the horizon from outside of the window.
"Uhm... got afternoon?" Spike yawned, "ah~... Twi, what is happening? It's not normal that I wake up around so many mares. Not gonna lie, a lot of stallions would be glad to be in my place right now" he added jokingly.
Twilight smiled 'looks like the spell worked ' she thought before recalling the words she had studied for this moment, "Nice to see you are awake again, sleepy head" she said cheerfully, "seems like some dragon added obsidian to his punch without telling, you are lucky that Celestia covered that info to the public, because you are half year off to properly drink, mister", she lied about the events of the previous night.
"Obsidian? I was sure that I learned my lesson the last time I tried to eat it..." Spike thought out loud, "but well, now that you say it, my mind is really fuzzy right now and my whole body feels like I was caught in a stampede, so you must be right" he paused to look at nurse RedHeart and to Zecora, "and... why are you two here? sorry if I sound rude, is just that I can't find proper words after waking up".
'That settles it, the spell worked, he forgot everything about the rape, now let's see if the rest worked aswell '
"Zecora got here to help Redheart with your healthcare, after all, you are a dragon so this wasn't a usual case of poisoning with 'liquor'" Twilight explained, "Did you remember something important Spike?" she forced the question, too late to notice how she screwed her plans a little for a moment.
"Well" Spike paused to look back at his chest of memories, "I remember the party, then the fact that Luna and Celestia told the ones present about my true age..." he frowned in concentration, "They told something else but I can't remember properly. Actually... I feel like there is a lot of holes in my memories...".
"Don't worry, Spike, is just a common after effect of the obsidian poisoning" Twilight told him with an assuring smile, "Luckily for you, Celestia and Luna are still here, they can tell you what happened, I will tell them to come here and then inform the girls".
"The girls are here too? Wow, they must be worried" Spike scratched the back of his head feeling the shame of his actions swelling in his mind, "I will have to apologize to them for the trouble".
'Maybe this could be an overkill, but I have to make sure '
"Yeah, they sure are, just like I was. Do you know how hard is to get a number one assistant?" Twilight commented in a joking manner.
"Yeah, the merchants usually put them at the highest prices since there are too few of them" Spike followed the joke, noticing now that Twilight face was approaching to his own.
"I'll go outside and tell, the other" She paused to give a kiss to Spike's forehead, "I love you, my number one assistant".
Spike face shined in joy, "love ya too Twi" the purple dragon exclaimed.
Twilight departed the room wearing a smile. She closed the door behind her and disposed to go to inform the princesses.
'How long has it been since I heard him said those words without a trace of doubt or regret? '.
The purple alicorn found her friends after some minutes. She wasted no time in telling them that the spell had worked properly and that it was their turn now to do their part and come up with something to tell Spike about his royal status.
'It will be rough to get Spike to love me again, but this time I'll do it properly, without hurting him or anyone else in the process '.
Twilight walked through the corridors at a slow pace while she made her way to the map room where her friends were waiting.
'Even still, I need to contain my urges to start right away. Redheart said that it will take at least a month for his body to completely clear out the the drugs inside his system ' Twilight stopped for a moment to look herself at her own reflection on the ground, 'I'll use that time to prepare myself ' her eyes shined in a bright purple, 'All of this was because I felt into the grasp of Greed, and even though I can fight against it better now, the fact that I didn't do anything before just prove I could have put a stop to all of this in that night I first kissed him. '
Twilight started to move again through the corridor, a single tear was forming in her left eye while she kept thinking in the past.
'I was so frightened, so confused, and yet, I never asked for help. And even when I grew up the courage to ask Cadance for guidance, I choose to use him again... I was so weak... ' Twilight sobbed. She stopped again, this time to calm herself, 'and then he just... he just accepted it, he gave me a chance after everything I did... '.
Twilight started to openly cry, her muzzle started to drench in the tears and the world around her dazzled. She took a wall as a support and kept on her mental rambling, no, it wasn't rambling, it was a scolding. She was reprimanding herself for everything she had done for the first time in her life.
'All the things I did, oh goddess, how I was so blind to not see the damage I was doing to him? he spoiled every one of my wishes, he stood by my side when it really mattered, he took more care of me that I could ever do at my young age. And how do I pay him? I misthreathed him, I overdid myself everytime we do the child act; more than one time I acted selflessly and most of those times he ended up being the hurt one because of it... to top it off, I practically raped him every week '.
Twilight Looked at the door at the end of the hall, the distance seemed so near, she wanted more time, more space for her to think.
'And how did he respond to my selfish treatment? He decided to give me a chance, time and time again to prove my love... he protected me from the rage of a king lost in pain and sadness even while suffering and drugged. He stood with the same determination that he always has when it comes to protecting the ones he loves... ' Twilight cleaned her tears again and recomposed after her mind recalled the most important thing 'he even gave me the chance to amend my errors. '
Twilight made her way to the door and open it, forgetting for a moment that she could use her magic to help her. Once inside, she told the whole group the good news.
"I hope our favorite squirt is ok now" Rainbow Dash said while flying outside the room.
"Oh, I hope that he feels good now," The white fashionista asked, granting a nod from Twilight, "how delightful! I need to see him"
"He is still all big and meany looking?"
"I can hug him now?"
"Yes, Fluttershy, he is back to his natural form and size" Twilight frowned at the pink mare, "And no, there are no hugs for today, the drugs had just been cleansed from his system but there could still be remainings, I will tell you the details later" the pink mare stood there with a teary look on her face after hearing her hugs being neglected.
"How bad, Spike really likes to give hugs too" Starlight commented on her way out of the room.
Applejack was the last one in the room, "You don't seem to want to go see him with us" the farmer said concerned.
"I just need some time, you go ahead, I'll catch up with you in a moment".
"Well, ah'll take that for the meantime, but don't stay here for too long, I will need your help if miss drama gets noisy" Applejack commented.
The words "I just hear that" echoed from outside of the room, earning a chuckle from the orange earth pony before she took her leave.
Pinkie stood up and looked at Twilight again, her honest smile returned to her face, showing understanding and care towards her friend.
"Twilight, is fine if you want to cry," She said to Twilight, the purple unicorn released her held tears and sobs after hearing those miraculous words, "You had been through a lot today, and now you have a whole challenge to take, get Spike out of his crush with Rares again will be hard I'm sure of that".
"I will do my best Pinkie" Twilight sobbed with joy.
"I'll hope for that Sparkle" The pink mare saluted before getting out of the room.
Now Twilight stood alone in the room, only her and her thoughts trying to gather all the courage they needed to keep going.
'Now I have a second chance to start this, but this time, I know how I feel and I know that he can love me back. '
Twilight looked at the memories shards hanging on the roof of the map room, Every colored shard made her recall the past vividly.
'He helped me to grow as the mare I am now, a mare who is known as a humble and respectable heroine, a princess who is fanatic to knowledge, books, science, and magic. He helped me fight against every one of my flaws in the past, and now I would reward him for it, I will do the only thing that he always asked me '.
'I will amends my bad habits'.

And there you have it, the end of this fic who started as a personal trial to make a story in which Twilight could love her assistant and get out of her shell in a progressive way that followed the whole series till the 6th season and then follow the current one (7th).
Throughout this whole fic, I let some signals about the feelings of some of the main six towards Spike too. My mind keeps telling me to make a spin off sequel using those moments as a fuel, but the true reasons behind them were that I wanted to put the suspense of a possible competition for the heart of the drake.
Also, I want to dedicate this last chapter to say thanks again to ShadowSpider for all the help, tips and suggestions that he gave me.
