Reviving hope

Celestia and Luna had heard of Glitter from the bearers, and the bearers were waiting for their response. The story was… distressing, but it gave them something to aim for. An enemy to find and defeat, and after three years of not knowing, they were a little eager to confront it. Even with Glitter’s dire warnings.

And then Celestia nodded, and Luna looked at her before nodding.

“We know that it is hard for you to enter Canterlot now.” Luna said. “But thou must. We have been hunting for dreams in the city, and we have found them after three years of search.”

“Somepony’s alive in there?” Applejack asked, astonished.

Luna nodded. “Shining Armor has reached the outer edge, and he yet lives after so long in Canterlot. His dreams have indicated that Twilight has found him, and I have even better news for you all.” She waited, and they grew curious, most of their fear form Glitter’s tale fading.

“It is very possible that Twilight has not fallen. She is caring for him, and does not attack him, and protects him from what might hurt him.”

Celestia and Luna were already beaming, and the bearers slowly shifted from shock to hope and joy.

“Then she’s alive!” Rarity exclaimed.

“So it appears my little ponies.” Celestia said. “She has undergone some malady, but it is still her deep within. Luna will be trying to contact Shining Armor soon, and soon after, I want you to return to Canterlot.”

“And if it is at all possible, to bring Twilight Sparkle home.”
