My Little Dinosaur

Primordial Friendship part 4

Equestria year 1008 of Celestia’s Reign

After Parker mention the word “Tyrannosaurus Rex”, the other Dinosaurs felt panicked struck though Pinkie Pie on the other hand felt just plain confusion.

“Tyrannosaurus Rex,” wondered Pinkie. “What kind of creature’s that?”

“Only the most vicious and terrifying creature to have ever walked the planet,” replied Teryx.

“Really how terrifying is it?” Pinkie wondered obliviously.

“Well to be precise,” Dusk replied. “Tyrannosaurus Rex is one of the largest predatory dinosaurs out there, with a massive head, bone crushing jaws and tremendous power…or just for a reference you should never make fun of their arms, they can be easily provoked about!”

“Is it because their arms are super tiny compared to the dinosaurs?” Pinkie asked the Troodon.

“Uh yeah that’s actually correct,” replied an astonished Dusk.

“Tiny arms or not a T.Rex is one thing you should never want to be around,” said Parker. “And if we’re lucky he’s probably isn’t close by.”

“Really?” wondered Boulder. “Because looks like he’s here right now.”

“How can you be so sure?” Teryx asked the Leptoceratops.

Boulder simply pointed over to something hidden within some trees, only to push them out of the way to reveal him to be a fully grown male T.Rex at around 20 feet tall, 40 feet long and possibly around 7 to 9 tons in weight.

His presence was just enough to make even Pinkie Pie shiver in fear, for not even the fiercest beast of the Ever free forest could compare to the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex. The five some stood still in shock, motionless until the Rex finally let out a terrifying roar to match his power.

In no time Parker, Boulder, Dusk and Pinkie Pie ran for their lives while Teryx flew away, there the T.Rex began his pursuit. Back with Fluttershy and the rest of the Mane six, they were still waiting anxiously for Pinkie when a thought occurred to Fluttershy…what if Pinkie stumbled upon the Dinosaurs and might accidentally blab out to all of Ponyville about them, she knew right away she must head to the Ever free forest and find the pink mare as well as the Dino gang.

“Uh girls I think I might know where Pinkie is,” said Fluttershy.

“Really,” replied a skeptical Rainbow Dash. “And where might that be?”

“She might’ve ended up at the Everfree forest,” replied Fluttershy with a bit of truth in there. “I think I’ll go get her…if it’s not too much trouble.”

“Well go ahead then,” said Twilight. “But do please be careful.”

Fluttershy simply nodded in assurance and flew out to the forest, while the rest of her friends continued waiting in the dining room.

“Uh should we dig in while we wait?” suggested Rainbow Dash.

“Now Rainbow darling that would be rather rude,” Rarity retorted. “Besides it’s normal for Pinkie Pie to be fashionably late once in a while.”

“Well ah hope noting bad happened to that party pony,” Applejack said with concern.

“Don’t worry girls,” assured Twilight. “I’m sure Pinkie being Pinkie’s just taking a detour and running with joy.”

However Twilight’s words proved only half right, for Pinkie along with the Dinosaurs were still running for their life from the T.Rex.

“Oh wowie I’ve never ran away from peril since the day with that hydra,” said Pinkie. “Though technically I was actually shaking from that Doozy when my Pinkie sense went…”

“Yeah, yeah tell us later,” Teryx interrupted. “Right, at least try to keep yourself focus on staying alive.”

“Oki Doki Loki,” replied a cheerful Pinkie Pie.

As the gang continued running, Parker soon took noticed of some downed trees and large branches making passage difficult…giving the Parksosaurus an idea.

“Quickly everyone,” shouted Parker. “Into that area as fast as you can?”

“Oh I see now Parker,” Dusk smirked.

As quickly as they can, the four Dinos and Pinkie ran though that area. However when the T.Rex quickly notice the obstacle, it was too late as the Tyrannosaurus tripped and toppled onto the forest floor. He struggled hard to get back up, proving troublesome due to his top heaviness.

“Wonderful idea Parker,” Dusk complimented to Parker. “Due to being so top heavy that if a Tyrannosaurus Rex ever trips, it would be almost impossible for them to get back.”

“Well that Rex toppling wasn’t part of the plan,” Parker chuckled sheepishly. “But at least we’re alive…though it’s shame of that mishap however.”

“Who cares?!” shouted Teryx. “Serve him right!”

“Well that’s not a nice thing to say,” Pinkie chided.

“Yeah he was only really hungry,” agreed Boulder.

As Teryx was about to retort when suddenly they gang were spotted by Fluttershy, relieved to the Dinosaurs and Pinkie Pie were alright.

“Oh you’re all okay,” said a concerned Fluttershy. “What happened?”

“Oh that’s easy to answer,” Pinkie replied as she raced up to her Pegasus friend. “One day I was taking a short cake through the Everfree forest, and then suddenly I spotted these guys who call themselves dinosaurs. Then we were running from something called Tyrannosaurus Rex or a T.Rex for short, but then Parker have us run through an area that made the T.Rex tripped!!!!”

As Pinkie finished her sentence, a bemused Fluttershy soon saw what her random friend had meant. There the T.Rex continued to struggle at getting back up, the shy Pegasus was both shocked and surprise to see how huge and fearsome looking the T.Rex was…but then felt concerned as the Rex continue to struggle in his effort to get back up.

“Oh…poor thing,” said Fluttershy with concern. “We have to help him.”

“WHAT?!” shouted a shock Teryx. “Look we know you love helping animals, but we’re talking an apex predator here…he’ll rip us to SHREDS!!!!”

“But Teryx,” replied a worried Fluttershy. “What if he’ll be stuck here forever, he might get lonely and hungry…we just can’t leave him here to perish!!”

Fluttershy began to tear, for seeing an animal hurt is never fun to see for her. Soon enough Teryx looked at Fluttershy, then at the Tyrannosaurus Rex and soon his conscience got to the Avisaurus making him feel bad about just being so prejudice about the cretaceous king.

“I can’t believe I’m going to say this…” Teryx sigh. “But Fluttershy has a point, though how exactly are we going to get a seven to nine ton carnivore back to his feet?”

“Hmmm… how about a pulley system?” Parker suggested. “If it could lift the Rex long enough, he might be able to get himself back up the rest of the way.”

‘Well that could work,” replied Dusk. “We just need the right material too…”

“Got yeah covered,” Pinkie said before the Troodon could finish.

There Pinkie revealed an assortment of equipment required for said Pulley system.

“What the?” Teryx said in confusion. “How on Urth did you get those?”

“She was carrying them in her mane of course,” Boulder chuckled while the Avisaurus’s jaws dropped to the floor.

It didn’t take long for the gang to finish the Pulley system and while placing the rope under the T.Rex, everyone ready to turn the crank.

“Alright everyone on the count of three we start turning got it?” said Parker as everyone nodded yes. “Good let’s get started!”

Soon enough the crank started spinning, while the rope in spite of the Rex’s weight manage to life the carnivore just enough for his two fingered hands to touch the ground. Trying to stay as steadies as he could, the Tyrannosaurus had finally managed to get himself back up. The six friends waited on baited breath as the T.Rex looked at them, then back at the ground where it tripped over on. Now instead of attacking the Dinos and their pony friends, the T.Rex simply smiled at them before departing back into the deeper part of the forest. Everyone sigh in relief for they knew the situation was over.

“That was unexpected,” said Teryx.

“Well Teryx,” explained Fluttershy. ‘When you show kindness to others, they will tend to show that kindness back to you.”

“Appears to make sense,” said Dusk. “So what now?”

“Oh I know….” replied Pinkie. “Let’s PARTY!!!”

“No Pinkie Pie!” Fluttershy told her Pink friend. “I am very sorry, but we can’t tell any pony about them what so ever.”

“How come?” wondered a confuse Pinkie.

“What she means is,” Parker explained. “Is that it appears to Pony kind is just not ready to encounter Dinosaurs just yet, after we’ve just arrived here yesterday and so far you two are the only ponies that have met us.”

“Oh,” replied Pinkie “You mean Fluttershy haven’t told the rest of our friends yet?”

“I’m afraid so,” replied Fluttershy. “I understand that new friends are very exciting, but I think it’s better we keep the secret about the Dinosaurs between the two of us…please?”

Fluttershy pleaded the best she could, while Pinkie thought it over in her head. It didn’t take too long to give an answer, as she began to perform her legendary Pinkie Promise.

“Cross my heart, hope to fry, stick a cupcake in the eye…” Pinkie Pie chanted. “I Pinkie Pie, Pinkie promise to not tell any pony about the dinosaurs until…”

“Until every pony is ready for them,” Fluttershy suggested plead fully.

“Yep that should do it,” Pinkie giggled. “Anyway what should we do now?”

“Well didn’t Fluttershy say you girls were having brunch?” Dusk wondered.

“Oh my goodness I almost forgot about that,” Fluttershy realized.

“Then what are we waiting for,” Pinkie said as she went to grab the shy Pegasus’s right hoof. “Let’s go!”

As fast as she could, Pinkie took Fluttershy back to Twilight’s castle as fast as Pinkie Pie can leaving the Dinosaurs in the dust.

“Okay that was weird,” Teryx comment at what happened.

“Now that is something we can all agree on,” Parker agreed with the Avisaurus.

Later in the afternoon, Fluttershy had returned to her cottage after she and her friends enjoyed a wonderful brunch together. Now she assumed the Dinos were still in the Everfree forest, but as she opened the door…she became surprised that Parker, Teryx, Boulder and Dusk were inside waiting for her.

“Oh hello guys,” Fluttershy greeted. “How come you’re all here so early, didn’t you want to stay in the Everfree forest?”

“Not with a T.Rex living there.” Teryx joked. “Besides we were doing that thinking…”

“That after what we all were through…” Dusk added.

“We were wondering if it’s not any trouble,” Parker suggested. “If we could stay with you for a while.”

“With me?” Fluttershy asked in surprise.

“Of course,” replied Parker. ‘it’s a brand new world out here, a new time with new experience for a dinosaur to check out.”

“Not to mention so much to explore,” said Dusk. “New species, new places to be and  some new friends to make as well.”

“And so many new food to eat,” said Boulder.

“And besides if the four of us and that T.Rex ended up here…” Teryx mentioned. “Who knows what other Dinosaurs ended up in the future with us?”

“And besides we could use a guide to show us around,” said Parker. “So what do you say Fluttershy, want to be friends?”

At first Fluttershy tried to comprehend what is happening, for living with a pack of non-bird dinosaurs is relatively new to her...but yet since she and Pinkie were the only ponies aware of their existence as well as on how important it is to try and make new friends, she ended up giving Parker and the Dino Gang her answer.

“Well of course you guys can stay with me,” Fluttershy smiled. “Though I just you all can manage living alongside my other animals if that’s alright.”

“Please we’ve been other creatures before,” Teryx assured the Pegasus pony. “How hard can it be?”

Fluttershy could only giggle at the Avisaurus comment; though having some new roommates was quite a challenge she felt that her knowledge with animals could help her out with the Dino Gang.

“Well then,” wondered Fluttershy. “Would any of you want more fruit? I still have plenty of apples if you wish.”

The four Dinosaurs simply laughed along as the five of them walked back inside the cottage, as another day draws to a close for the

Dinos and their new Equestrian friend but who knows what new adventures will come in the days to come.
