On a quiet evening in Ponyville, or at least it would be if not for one particular party pony practicing her trombone. Pinkie Pie was performing “when the saints go marching in”, and so far she hasn’t missed a beat when suddenly… a new sound could be heard.
“Huh,” Pinkie stopped her performance. “I wonder what that could be.”
Just as Pinkie spoke the vocalization stopped, paying no mind Pinkie decided to shrug it off and went back to performing on her trombone. But as she performs once more, the sound came out again. These made Pinkie stop her playing, which by then the sound stopped once more…this made Pinkie very curious.
“Hmm, I wonder?” Pinkie Pie thought to herself.
With an idea in place, Pinkie performs a high note which the mysterious sound sung back. Amazed that her hypothesis is working, Pinkie proceeded to perform her music while the mysterious sound performed what appears to be a duet with her trombone. As Pinkie continued playing, she soon realized that the origin of the sound was in fact coming from…the Everfree forest. Wondering on what could be creating the sound, Pinkie decided to head towards Fluttershy’s cottage to speak with her about it. Meanwhile at said cottage, the shy Pegasus with the help of Parker the Parksosaurus is tending to their new Alphadon guess. Right now they found what could be a perfect home for the prehistoric marsupial, a small burrow big enough to fit the tiny mammal. So far the Alphadon now named “Alpha” seems to be enjoying her new surroundings, especially with a home away from her old home in the cretaceous era.
“Aww…you’re enjoying your new home aren’t yeah?” Fluttershy asked as Alpha squeaked yes in response. “That’s good, well see you later Alpha.”
The Alphadon happily squeaked back before preparing to settle into her new burrow, Fluttershy and Parker returned to the cottage where the shy Pegasus prepared some tea for the two of them.
“Well I have to say Fluttershy toady’s been quite a peaceful one,” said parker. “I mean with the guys out exploring for a while, it appears it’s just you, me and the critters.”
“I guess you’re right Parker,” Fluttershy giggled. “But since we helped all the animals we can, guess it’s good time to sit back, relax and…”
“FLUTTERSHY!!!!” shouted a familiarly bubbly voice.
The shy Pegasus instantly jumped at this while Parker simply sigh, knowing very well that it was Pinkie Pie calling out from outside the cottage.
“Speak of the didelphodon,” said the Parksosaurus. “Let us see what Pinkie Pie wants.”
As Parker prepared to open the door, he stopped and realized something. Grabbing for a seemingly unsuspecting jar, Parker opened it and spoke into it.
“Hello Pinkie,” Parker spoke as a particular pink mare popped out surprising Fluttershy in the process.
“Hey Parker,” greeted Pinkie Pie. “But how did you…”
“Half hazard of guessing,” replied Parker. “Besides knowing you…when would you do something predictable?”
“Good point,” Pinkie laughed.
As Pinkie fully came out of the jar, as she sat down and grabbed a cup of tea she soon remembered her original reason for coming over.
“Anyway…” Pinkie spoke. “There’s something I need to show you guys!”
“Really Pinkie,” wondered Fluttershy. “What is it Pinkie?”
As Pinkie Pie pulled the trombone out of her mane, she began performing her music. As she did, the sound from earlier could be heard once more. This surprised Parker and Fluttershy, though for the dinosaur the sound seemed oddly familiar to him.
“Say I believe I know that sound from somewhere,” Parker thought. “But it something I’ve haven’t heard since….”
The Parksosaurus paused for a moment, as a spark of realization occurred. The quietness remained as Fluttershy and Pinkie looked on, Pinkie was tempted to interrupt but Fluttershy’s warrying eyes convinced the party mare to remain silent when Parker finally spoke.
“Why…that’s the call of a Hadrosaur,” Parker finally said. “Those dinosaurs are famous for the variety of sounds they make.”
“Oh another dinosaur’s here in Equestria?” Fluttershy asked the Parksosaurus.
“Yep but don’t worry,” assured Parker. “Hadrosaur dinosaurs are mostly plant eaters.”
“Well that’s good news to hear,” the shy Pegasus sigh in relief. “But I wonder why such a dinosaur would be wandering around the Everfree forest?”
“Especially with a T.Rex living there now,” Pinkie Pie added.
“Well whatever the reason doesn’t matter now girls,” replied Parker. “What does is making sure the Hadrosaur understands that it has no need to worry about the situation it’s in….hadrosaurs don’t do well with stress after all.”
“Oh my,” Fluttershy gasped. “Then we must better go over and help the poor thing.”
“Exactly,” Parker agreed. “Let us get going then.”
“Okie Doki Loki,” replied Pinkie while Fluttershy simply nodded yes shy fully.
A while later, Parker, Fluttershy and Pinkie were walking through the forest in search of the Hadrosaur. Pinkie made sure to play her trombone as a way to track the herbivorous dinosaur, while Parker and Fluttershy had a little chat on what to do when they find the dinosaur.
“Well Fluttershy I was thinking once we find the Hadrosaur…,” suggested Parker. “We should find it a home somewhere in the forest away from predators.”
“But why couldn’t we just take it to my cottage?” wondered Fluttershy.
“Hadrosaurs are a little large for your home Fluttershy,” explained Parker. “Would give a dead giveaway to your other friends that non-bird dinosaurs are among you ponies after all.”
“Oh I guess you’re right,” Fluttershy giggled. “Though I do hope we find the poor Hadrosaur real soon.”
“So do I,” replied Parker. “But hopefully it won’t be too long before we….”
“FOUND IT!” shouted Pinkie Pie up ahead.
Soon enough Parker and Fluttershy follow suit, and once they reach up to Pinkie Pie…they were in for a big surprise.
Standing out in the opened area of Froggy Bottom Bog is probably the most well known Hadrosaur since the Trachodon…

The Parasauralophous as he performed his famous music in response to Pinkie’s own tuba playing.
