My Little Dinosaur

As Parker, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie kept on listening to the Parasauralophous’s music, the crested Hadrosaur finished up to take noticed of the trio in surprise/ confusion.

“Say you’re not members of the herd,” said the Parasauralophous. “Well I know about the Parksosaurus, but what are you two?”

“Hi yeah,” greeted Pinkie. “The name’s Pinkie Pie and this is my friend Fluttershy, we’re ponies as you can see though technically I’m an Earth pony and Flutter here’s a Pegasus pony.”

“Uh hi,” said Fluttershy.

“I see,” the crested Hadrosaur said awkwardly. “Anyway my name’s Perry and if you three could excuse me, I need to keep on searching for the rest of my herd… one of them seems to be playing an unusual tune far off from here and I really wish to seek them.”

“Well we can see that,” Parker chuckled. “Though apparently what you thought was another Parasauralophous calling is actually just Pinkie playing her…”

“Trombone,” Pinkie Pie finished for the little dinosaur.

Pinkie demonstrated by playing her trombone once more, while Perry seemed impressed by the similarity the trombone had to the sounds of his crest. He was also disappointed to learn that there were no more of his kind around after all.

“Oh dear,” Perry sigh. “I’ve been stranded here in the forest for quite a while, looking for my herd ever since that Star Stone slammed into the Urth…but since it seems I’ve been wandering toward a sound over nothing, guess it was a waste of time.”

The trio could see how sad Perry was, being all alone for so long just was really depressing for a social animal like the Parasauralophous. But then all of a sudden Perry peeked up, as if he heard something dangerous close by.

“Uh oh,’ said a shocked Perry. “Appears my situation just got worse…something’s close by.”

“Really how can you tell?” wondered Pinkie.

“Crested hadrosaurs like the Parasauralophous,” Parker explained. “Have some of the best hearing out there, it not only helps them keep in touch with their herd…it can also alert them of predators.”

“Predators?” wondered Fluttershy.

Just before anyone else spoke, something within the water stirred. By sheer coincident a familiar hydra pops out with all four heads, eying the gang quite hungrily shocking the four quite so.

“Say isn’t that the same hydra from the day Twilight tried to know about my pinkie sense?” wondered Pinkie pie.

“Appears that way,” replied Fluttershy so meekly.

“Well whatever a hydra is…” Parker gulped. “I say we get out of here…ASAP!!!

“Say no more!,” replied Perry as he suddenly placed the two ponies and Parksosaurus on his back. “Let’s get out of here!”

Within an instant before the hydra could snap, Perry the Parasauralophous high tailed it as far away as possible. Seeing that their meal is getting away, the four headed beast started chasing the foursome through the forest. Luckily for Perry, his kind proved a whole lot faster than the Hydra ever could.

“Well I’ve heard that Dusk read about these things,” Parker commented. “I never thought a four headed animal is biologically possible!”

“Well I’m a six limbed mammal Parker,” reminded Fluttershy. “So you can say a four headed animal is quite possible.”

“Good point on that,” Parker chuckled in realization. “Anyway we need a way to get these guys off our tail.”

“We could try offering them a cupcake,” Pinkie bubbly suggested much to Parker and Fluttershy’s dismay.

As Perry kept on running with the gang on his back, a thought occurred to the crested hadrosaur.

“Hey you three I might have an idea,” Perry spoke. “I need you three to cover your ears ASAP!”

“Really why?” Wondered Pinkie as she pulled out some earplugs for her, Parker and Fluttershy.

“I think we should listen,” Parker realized as he took a pair of plugs.

“Well…okay,” Fluttershy replied as she took her pair.

“Good,” said Perry. “Now keep them close for as long as you can…otherwise your eardrums will rattle for hours.”

As the three finally covered their ears with the plugs, Perry the Parasauralophous stood to face the hydra. Seeing that they finally caught up, the ravenous hydra prepared to lunge at their quarry. But just as they’re about to reach the group, Perry produce a sound so loud and irritating it caused to hydra to back away and shake their heads violently in an attempt to rid the sound out of their heads. The watched in relief as the Hydra backed away from the group, however what neither faction realized was that hiding in the trees is “Rex” the T.Rex eying the four headed hydra hungrily. Suddenly the theropod strike and tackled the hydra down, shaking and crushing the monster with his powerful jaws ending the Hydra’s life off screen. Parker, Fluttershy, Pinkie and Perry could only look on squeamishly as Rex enjoyed his meal, while they were grateful that in saved their lives…shock of seeing the hydra perish was much to take in.

“Guess that’s why T.Rex’s king of predators,” said Parker in concern.

“Indeed,” Fluttershy shook fearfully.

“Why didn’t anyone tell me a Tyrannosaur lived in these forest?!” Perry said in shock.

“Because we didn’t get the chance,” replied Pinkie sheepishly.

Not wishing to continue watching Rex Gorge, the four left the area leaving the carnivore to feed in peace. After reaching the edge of the forest, Perry allowed the three to get down from his back as they sigh in relief that what happened earlier is all over now.

“That poor Hydra,” Fluttershy said sadly. “They didn’t see Rex coming.”

“Well sometimes the natural world is so bitter sweet Fluttershy,” Parker explained. “Predators hunting prey is just part of the circle of life.”

“I guess you’re right,” said Fluttershy as she wiped a tear away. “Though watching an animal harming another animal is just something I might never get used to.”

“Well not to worry,” assured Parker. “I’m sure the hydra’s at a better place now.”

“Anyway I guess I should get going,” said Perry. “Though I’m not quite sure where I’ll go…since it seems I can’t find my herd…”

"Wait a minute!” Pinkie realized something. “Fluttershy don’t you have a wildlife sanctuary?”

“Oh my goodness you’re right?” Fluttershy realized.

“A what kind of sanctuary?” wondered a confused Parker.

“Is it a place I can live at?” Perry wondered as well.

Fluttershy simply nodded yes as she decided to show the dinosaurs her animal preserve, moments later after making no pony else is around Fluttershy escorted Parker and Perry to the “Sweet Feather Sanctuary”.

The two awe in wonder at what they saw, and after Perry walked in and greeted the animals there…he felt like he can settle in the sanctuary for a while.

“So far I like,” Perry smiled. “At least here I can feel safe until I can find my herd…thank you flying mammal.”

“Your welcome Perry,” Fluttershy giggled. “And we’ll always visit you when we get the chance.”

“Well I always wanted to make new friends,” Perry smiled. “Maybe one day I could perform a song to thank you three one day.”

“We would love that,” Parker chuckled. “Though do take care, and please be gentle with Fluttershy’s animals.”

“I can assure you I will,” assured Perry as he lied on the cool grass.

Parker, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie departed, allowing the Parasauralophous to settle in his temporary home. The three returned to Fluttershy’s cottage, thinking about the adventure they had with a crested Hadrosaur.

“Now that was an adventure,” said Pinkie. “We made a new friend, escape a hydra and found said friend a perfect place to stay.”

“Indeed,” replied Fluttershy. “Though I do hope Perry settles in quite nicely at the sanctuary.”

“I’m pretty sure he will,” assured Parker.

The Parksosaurus watched outside a window and listened to what sounded a lovely tune performed by Perry the Parasauralophous himself.
