Chapter 1: The Changeling Invasion
In the city of Canterlot, the capital city of the land of Equestria, bells were ringing, for today was the wedding of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, niece to Princess Celestia, ruler of the land, and Royal Guard Captain Shining Armor, who was currently standing in his red and white Royal Guard dress uniform and with his blue hair slicked back. Also, he had an expression that seemed to suggest that he’d recently been hit over the head with something solid.
Presiding over the ceremony was Princess Celestia herself, a powerfully built woman with chalk white wings growing out of her back, long flowing hair in the sky blue of a summer’s day, the lush green of rolling hills, and the pink of love and compassion, and an image of the sun on her face. She was wearing an elegant white dress with a golden tiara on her head and beautiful golden heeled sandals.
The bird choir began chirping “Here Comes The Bride.” Conducting the birds was a woman with long pink hair and the image of three pink butterflies on the side of her face who could’ve passed for a normal girl had it not been for the butter yellow feathered wings sticking out of the holes on the back of her beautiful green dress with matching shoes. This was Fluttershy, animal caretaker of Ponyville and Element of Kindness.
As those attending the wedding rose to their feet, down the aisle walked a woman with tri-colored hair, soft pink feathered wings, and the image of a crystalline heart on her face wearing a wedding dress that reeked of elegance with matching heels. This was Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, the blushing bride to be. Once she’d taken her place beside her bridesmaids, Applejack, a strong looking woman with the image of three red, juicy apples on her face with tied back and braided blonde hair, Rarity Belle, who had the image of three diamonds on her face, Pinkie Pie, who had the image of three balloons on her face, and Rainbow Dash, a woman with blue feathered wings sticking out of her back, rainbow-colored hair, and the image of a rainbow-patterned lightning bolt on her face. All four of them were wearing green and baby blue bridesmaid dresses.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Shining Armor and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza in holy matrimony. Spike, the rings, please,” said Princess Celestia.
Spike Sparkle, a teenage boy with green hair wearing a black tuxedo with a matching top hat, held out the violet pillow carrying two diamond studded wedding rings. Celestia’s eyes glowed a bright shade of yellow, causing the rings to levitate into the air and hover before Shining Armor and Mi Amore Cadenza.
“Do you, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, take Shining Armor to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, ‘til death do you part?” Celestia asked her niece.
“I do,” said Mi Amore.
“Shining Armor, do you take Mi Amore Cadenza to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, ‘til death do you part?”
“I do,” said Shining Armor in an almost robotic sort of voice.
“Then, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you-”
“STOP!”
Everyone in the room gasped loudly and looked towards the entrance to the throne room. Standing in the doorway was a young woman wearing a purple blouse, black jeans, and black and white shoes. This was Twilight Sparkle, Shining Armor’s younger sister.
Mi Amore growled in frustration. “Why does she have to be so possessive of her brother?!” she snarled before tears welled up in her eyes. “Why does she have to ruin my special day?!”
“Because it’s not your special day!”
Everyone gasped at again at the sight of what was unmistakably an exact double of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, except she was looking a little battered and wore a pink silk dress with gold heels.
“It’s mine!” said Princess Cadence.
“What?! But how did you escape my bridesmaids?!” demanded Cadenza.
“Simple, they were my bridesmaids and I tossed the bouquet,” said Princess Cadence.
“Hmph, clever. But you’re still too late!” snarled Cadenza.
“Ah don’t understand, how can there be two of ‘em?” said Applejack in utter confusion.
“She’s a changeling! She takes the form of someone you love and gains power by feeding off your love for them!” explained Cadence.
Green flames suddenly surrounded Cadenza before they rose high enough to touch the ceiling. Once the flames had died down, where Cadenza once stood was now what appeared to be a woman with long teal hair, insect-like wings, and green snake-like eyes wearing form fitting greenish black body armor and a small crown of her head.
“Mwah ha ha ha ha ha! Right you are, Princess!” said Queen Chrysalis, her voice dripping with venom and menace as she made her way to Cadence. “And as Queen of the Changelings, it is up to me to find food for my subjects! Equestria has more love than any place I’ve ever encountered! My fellow changelings will be able to devour so much of it that we will gain more power than we have ever dreamed of!”
“They’ll never get the chance!” spat Cadence. “Shining Armor’s protection spell will keep them from ever even reaching us!”
Chrysalis chuckled. “Oh, I doubt that. Isn’t that right, dear?” she said, her eyes glowing a sinister green color.
“Mm-hmm…” said Shining Armor, nodding his head like a wind-up toy soldier.
A look of shock appeared on Cadence’s face for a brief moment before the young Princess attempted to get to Shining Armor.
“Ah, ah, ah,” said Chrysalis, standing in front of Cadence, who froze in her tracks. “Don’t want to go back to the caves now, do we?” Chrysalis then returned to Shining Armor’s side. “Ever since I took your place, I’ve been feeding off of Shining Armor’s love for you. Every moment he grows weaker, and so does his spell. Even now, my minions are chipping away at it.”
Everyone’s heads immediately turned upward, as though they could gaze past the the high ceiling and see the swarm of human-insect hybrids trying to break through the shield.
Chrysalis let out another evil laugh. “He may not be my husband, but he IS under my total control now,” she said, causing Twilight and Cadence to gasp in horror. “And I’m sorry to say unable to perform his duties as Captain of the Royal Guard!”
“Not my Shining Armor!” cried Cadence.
“Soon, my Changeling Army will break through. First we take Canterlot, then all of Equestria!” said Chrysalis as she took to the air.
“No. You won’t.”
Chrysalis looked down to find Princess Celestia glaring up at her, a powerful aura of heat coming from her as she rose up to face the Changeling Queen.
“You may have made it impossible for Shining Armor to perform his spell, but now that you have so foolishly revealed your true self, I can protect my subjects from you!”
On that last word, Princess Celestia’s eyes glowed as pure white as she fired a beam of golden energy at Chrysalis, who countered with a beam of her own green magic. For the better part of a few minutes, Celestia and Chrysalis were deadlocked, until Chrysalis’ magic began to overpower Celestia’s, before finally the attack made contact.
The sound of Celestia’s tiara hitting the ground was heard by everybody in the room as Princess Celestia landed painfully on the ground, among the horrified gasps of the onlookers.
“Princess Celestia!” cried Twilight as she, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie ran to her aid.
“Shining Armor’s love for you is even stronger than I thought… consuming it has made me even stronger than Celestia!” snarled Chrysalis triumphantly.
“The Elements of Harmony… you must get to them, and use their power… to defeat the Queen!” Celestia instructed Twilight.
With a quick glance at one another, The Elements of Harmony dashed out of the room to get changed out of their dresses and into their regular clothes before they tried to save Equestria.
Chrysalis chuckled evilly as she watched them go. “You can run, but you can’t hide!” she called after them.
…
In the darkness of a Canterlot alleyway, a figure stirred, awoken by the sound of shattering glass.
"Oh, Christ... what the Hell happened last night? Someone get the number of that taxi… wait, what’s going on with my voice? And why the Hell am I seeing some kinda heads-up display?” the figure muttered, his voice distorted somewhat to sound more demonic and powerful. The figure paused for a moment and listened intently to what sounded like small meteors crashing into the ground. Curiosity getting the better of him, the figure pulled himself up. Or at least, tried to, only to stumble and fall through the wall directly across from him.
”Oofda! I’m bigger than before… weird,” the figure muttered as he successfully pulled himself up and made his way out of the alleyway and caught sight of his reflection in the window of a nearby shop.
The figure let out a gasp of shock as he saw his reflection. He seemed to be wearing a massive suit of silver armor that was glowing blue in some areas. He looked like he could handle anything that lived, and then some. The figure was easily able recognize the armored form.
”Why the Hell am I dressed up like Savitar?” the armor-clad man asked himself.
A loud hiss came from behind him. The man turned around to find that no more than six green-and-black armor-clad insect-human hybrids were advancing on him.
”H-hey, look guys, I don’t want any trouble,” said the man as he cautiously back away from the creatures, who were starting to surround him.
One of the creatures’ eyes began to glow a sinister green color as energy began to form in its hand before it launched the energy at the man.
Just before the attack could hit the man, time itself seemed to have slowed down. Almost instinctively and moving as though he was in slow motion, the man evaded the blast , ran up to the creature that had fired it, grabbed the creature, and dragged it painfully across the ground, scrapping it until there was nothing left but bones.
Just as quickly as it had seemingly stopped, time began to pick up right where it had left off as the creature’s bright green blood was smeared across the pavement. The being realized what he had done and began to feel as though lightning was surging through his body, imbuing him with its power, and as he felt like this way, large, pure white lightning bolts were sparking off of him.
Maybe I look like Savitar… because I AM Savitar! the being, Savitar, thought to himself. before he let out a dark chuckle. ”If this is a dream, then I don’t think I want to wake up!” Savitar said.
A loud hiss sounded behind Savitar. The friends of the creature he had just killed had caught up to him, although they looked more than a little nervous about confronting him after what he’d just done to their friend.
Savitar cracked his neck as his volts of electricity crackled around him. ”Alrighty then… time to bring a literal definition to the term ‘test run.’ Let’s see what I can really do,” said Savitar as a heads-up display appeared inside his helmet.
…
Meanwhile, the Elements of Harmony, despite having put up a brave fight in their attempt to recover the Elements, had been captured and had just been forced to listen to Chrysalis’ victory song.
Chrysalis chuckled as she gazed out the window upon the devastation that her children were causing. While the evil Queen had her back turned Twilight snuck over to Princess Cadence.
“Quick! Go to him while you still have the chance!" Twilight said as she freed Cadence.
Suddenly, Chrysalis cried out in pain as she felt like the very skin on her body had been scraped off somehow. "Wha…? One of my subjects has...died? Impossible!" she muttered to herself.
Chrysalis looked behind her as Shining Armor let out a groan. “Is the wedding over?" the bemused man asked.
"It's ALL over!" Chrysalis said, landing in front of the royal couple.
"The spell! Use your spell!" Twilight told her brother.
Chrysalis cackled. “What good would that do? My changelings already roam free!” the Changeling Queen snarled those present looked out the window and saw the destruction her subjects were creating, mere moments before Chrysalis cried out again as she felt more of her precious children die.
"What's up with her?" Rainbow asked, which made Chrysalis glare at the group, wincing in pain as she spoke.
“My changelings are dying!” snarled Chrysalis. “Tell me, do you… do you really think that slaughtering a few of my minions will really put an end to all this? My… my children are like the heads of a hydra. For each one who falls in battle, two more arise to take his place. You can’t- YEAARRGH!”
Shining Armor looked even more confused than before. “Changelings? What’s going on?”
“I’m sure your precious fiance will be more than happy to explain what’s going on once you’re in the dungeons of my new castle. For now, I want to know who’s responsible for my children dying, and I want answers right now!” Chrysalis snarled.
No one really seemed to have any answers for her. Then, out of seemingly nowhere, the doors leading into the Great Hall were blasted off their hinges, forcing everyone to duck for cover. Through the dust caused by the rubble emerged a being that looked nothing short of a god, clad in a massive suit of silver and blue armor while bolts of white lightning crackled off of him.
”Knock knock, motherfuckers!” said Savitar, a broad smirk hidden under his helmet.
“Wha… who are you?!” demanded Chrysalis, glaring at her party crasher in rage as she pulled herself up off the ground.
“Ah, yes, how rude of me to come barging in here without introducing myself. My name is Savitar, the God of Speed, your end,” said Savitar as lightning crackled around him.
“If anyone ends, it’ll be you!” snarled the Changeling Queen as she took to the air and fired a blast of her green magic. Godspeed waited until the last possible second before he zipped out of the way of the blast faster than blinking.
”Missed,” said Savitar, sounding almost bored.
Snarling, Chrysalis fired another magic blast, which Godspeed again evaded with his superhuman speed.
”Missed again,” said the God of Speed.
Again and again, Chrysalis fired blast upon blast, and each time Savitar evaded the attacks, moving faster than Chrysalis ever thought possible for anyone to move.
”You couldn’t hit the side of a barn with that aim. Ooh, felt some wind on that one. Come on, stop trying to hit me and hit me already! Missed me, missed me, don’t wanna kiss ye!” taunted Savitar as he evaded Chrysalis’ attacks.
“JUST-HOLD-STILL-YOU-FUCKING-PEST!” snarled Chrysalis, firing a blast on each word she spoke.
”Okay, fun time is over. Time to get serious,” said Savitar as he darted up to Queen Chrysalis and grabbed her by the throat.
”Let’s go for a run.”
What happened next, nobody was really quite sure. While it looked like Savitar was slamming Chrysalis against the walls of the throne room and pounding on her, from what the wedding party could see out the window, it also looked like several other Savitars were slamming the Changeling Queen against buildings, lampposts, and street signs at the same time.
Incredible… I need to run tests on this… Savitar immediately! He could change everything everyone ever thought about physics and then some! Hell, maybe even the very definition of being human! Not even Rainbow Dash can move that fast! thought Twilight, casting a glance at Rainbow Dash to see how she felt about someone whose speed made her own look like an old lady crossing the street. Sure enough, Rainbow wore an expression of pure shock on her face as all her claims and achievements as “the fastest flyer ever to come out of Cloudsdale,” were laid bare and grinded into nothing but dust.
Finally, the other images of Savitar vanished, leaving the one in the throne room and an extremely battered Queen Chrysalis who looked like she was definitely sporting some broken bones, as her green blood leaked down from open wounds.
“How… how dare you…” wheezed the Changeling Queen. “I… am… a woman! More...over… I… am… a...Queen!”
”Queen, you say?” said Savitar as he raised his fist, apparently ready to smash the Changeling Queen’s skull into powder. ”From where I’m sitting, you’re just an insect to be crushed beneath my boot.”
Savitar pulled back his arm ready for the final blow and brought his fist down as the Changeling Queen braced herself for the end, only for the God of Speed to stop mere inches above her heart. A few awkward moments passed before Savitar repeated the motion. After another few awkward moments passed before Savitar began to frequently perform the motion, as though trying to get something to happen. After several dozen attempts, Savitar began to shake his arm with his other hand while jumping up and down, causing the entire castle to shake and dust to fall from the ceiling.
”Come on…! How… do… I… get… the… thingy… to...work! grumbled Savitar as he stopped jumping and began to tap his forearm.
Twilight turned to her elder brother and whispered. “Quickly, use your spell while she’s distracted!”
Shining Armor nodded in understanding and attempted to focus his magical energies, causing his eyes to turn pink, only for them to flicker and fade back to their normal color.
“I can’t! I don’t have the strength,” said Shining Armor dejectedly.
“My love will give you strength,” said Cadence, her eyes glowing blue as she embraced her fiance.
Almost like power flowing from a pair of jumper cables into a car battery, Cadence’s magical energies flowed through her into Shining Armor, causing them both to be lifted into the air, enveloped in a soft pink glow as they kissed. As the energy around them grew to its peak, Shining Armor and Cadence’s bodies made a heart shape as the energy was unleashed in all its fury. All the Changelings caught in it, including Chrysalis, were blasted out of the room and out of Equestria in general.
As the couple landed on the ground, Celestia was freed from the cocoon that the Changelings had trapped her inside. As she hovered down to the ground, Twilight ran over to her teach to check if she was okay.
“I’m fine. You have a real wedding to put together,” said Celestia.
“Indeed, I do,” replied Twilight, before turning around to face Savitar. “But, first, I wonder if-”
Before Twilight could finish speaking, a hidden blade the size of a small sword emerged from Savitar’s wrist.
”Ha! There we go!” said Savitar, who only then just realized that Chrysalis was gone. ”Oh. Well, at least I know how to use this thing now.”
Twilight cautiously approached Savitar as his hidden blade retracted. “Excuse me, Mr. Savitar, sir?” she asked the imposing being.
Savitar looked down at Twilight, who began to feel a shiver of fear. Savitar chuckled at the sight of Twilight’s knees trembling at the sight of him. ”No need to be afraid. If I wanted to harm any of you, I’d have done so already. You’d never even know what happened,” Savitar told Twilight.
“...ooookay then,” said Twilight, looking more than a little nervous. “I was wondering if you could… show us who you really are? Underneath that armor?”
Savitar paused for a moment, clearly thinking it over. Then, he knelt down one knee with his fist on the ground. Okay, now how do I open this thing? he thought, but no sooner had the thought formed in his mind than his helmet, followed by the back of his armor began to open, allowing him to climb out.
Twilight and the rest of the wedding party let out a gasp of shock at the sight of the being who had been inside the Savitar armor. It was a human around the same age as Twilight had short brown hair that was parted to one side, a large scar that mangled his otherwise handsome face, and wore a black coat with a black shirt underneath, black jeans, and black heeled shoes.
“My name…” said the unarmored Savitar. “is Barry Allen.”
“Well… Barry. Welcome to Equestria,” said Princess Celestia with a kind smile as she made her way over to the speedster.
Barry smiled. “Thank you kindly, Your Majesty.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, how exactly did you get here?” asked Twilight.
“I… don’t really know. I was working on some power lines that had gone down during a storm, and next thing I know, I wake up here,” explained Barry.
“Well, seeing as you’re going to be here for the foreseeable future, I’ll prepare a guest room here in the castle for you. When Twilight and her friends return to Ponyville, I’ll have you room with her,” said Celestia.
Twilight looked a little uneasy about this. “Well… I suppose that could work, seeing as I’d like to run a few tests on Mr. Allen and that remarkable suit of his. Hope you don’t mind sleeping on the couch.”
“No problem. I suppose it’s only natural for you to be curious about me and my armor, as I’d be willing to bet that you’ve never really seen anybody like me in… Equestria, was it?” said Barry.
“Perfect. It’s settled then,” said Celestia. “What we need right now, however, is proper rest. We have a busy day tomorrow after all.”
Barry nodded before he reentered his armor, and together, the group all left the ruined Great Hall, talking amongst themselves. All the while, Savitar couldn’t stop smiling under his mask.
Maybe the lightning bolt that struck me while I was working on those electrical lines choose me, just like the lightning bolt that choose the real Barry Allen. Maybe, just maybe, I can make this work and become the hero I’ve always wanted to be, thought Savitar.
...
Chrysalis landed with a hard bump in the Equestrian Badlands with her minions. She felt so exhausted and weak that it was an effort to remain conscious at all. After a few minutes, it was too much effort to even try to fight it.

No sooner had Chrysalis lost consciousness than what looked like a blue vortex opened for the briefest of moments. Out of the portal came what looked like a man in a yellow and black suit with glowing red eyes generating red lightning from his body as he moved at supersonic speeds before stopping to catch his breath, his body vibrating as he did so, distorting his image for a brief moment before he stopped and removed the cowl attached to his suit, revealing himself to be a man in his mid-thirties with blonde hair.
The Reverse-Flash, as he was called, held out his hand in front of him, causing a holographic projection of a human head to appear.
“GIDEON,” Eobard Thawne addressed the image.
”Yes, Professor Thawne?” replied GIDEON in a smooth female voice.
“Where the Hell am I?”
”Location Unknown, Professor.”
As he looked around, Eobard caught sight of Queen Chrysalis and quickly went to her side.
“GIDEON, check the Xenobiological records, are there any records of creatures like this?” asked The Reverse-Flash.
”No matches found. Congratulations, Professor. You’ve discovered a new speices,” said GIDEON.
“Well, it’d certainly be a nice fallback in case my plans backfire even worse than they already have. Vitals?”
”Subject is in serious condition. Suggest seeking immediate medical attention… or you could leave her to die, like usual,” said GIDEON.
“Not the smartest move when you’re on an alien planet and you don’t know how you got there, GIDEON,” said Eobard as he scooped up Queen Chrysalis, pulled his mask back over his face, and departed the scene in a flash of red lightning.

Chapter 2: Welcome to Ponyville
It had been a few days since Shining Armor had almost married Queen Chrysalis. And now that the real wedding had gone down without a hitch, it was time for the wedding reception. As Shining Armor and Cadence disappeared into a crowd of well-wishers, Barry, who was clad in a sleek black tuxedo, was surrounded by important members of the Equestrian government, mainly those associated with the defense of the nation, who had heard about what he had done to save Equestria from the Changelings from Celestia, and of course, were more than a little concerned that he might one day turn against them.
“I understand your concern, but do you really think I’d go through all that trouble to save everyone if I was just going to turn against you guys? My loyalty is to Equestria and to the Princesses,” said Barry.
“It may be so for now, but what’s to stop your loyalties from changing, or being corrupted?” asked one of the Defense Advisors.
“Well, I think I’ll deal with that problem when and if it surfaces. Trust me, if I had wished any ill will upon Equestria, I would’ve left it to the Changelings. Hell, I would’ve actually helped the Changelings torch this place.”
The advisors seemed to consider this for a moment. “Very well then. We will let this matter rest for now. But be warned, if you should try anything that would bring harm to our great kingdom, you will suffer the full might of Equestria, and you will pay, no matter how far or how fast you run,” the advisor said.
“Uh-huh, I’ll keep that in mind,” said Barry in an almost bored sort of voice as he watched the advisors leave, each muttering darkly among one another.
…
The following day, the Elements of Harmony and Barry were heading back to Ponyville. As Barry, clad in his Savitar armor, followed the train that the Elements of Harmony were on, the Elements themselves were in a serious conversation about the so-called “God of Speed.”
“What do you suppose gave him the abilities that he has?” Rarity asked Twilight.
“I don’t know,” said Twilight nervously. “But, I intend to find out.”
“Maybe the lightning bolt that sent him to Equestria has something to do with it,” suggested Spike, Twilight’s surrogate son and assistant. He was a dragonblood with spiky green hair, emerald green reptilian eyes, and wore a purple hoodie with a black shirt underneath, blue jeans, and black shoes.
“It’s possible,” said Twilight, nodding. “But, we’ll need to run tests on him back at the library in order to be sure.”
Rainbow Dash, meanwhile, was watching Savitar run, an expression on her face that seemed to suggest that she was hurting. An expression that did not go unnoticed by Fluttershy.
“Are you okay, Rainbow Dash?” asked Fluttershy.
“I’m fine, Flutters,” muttered Rainbow.
“Rainbow, you don't look fine, or sound fine. Now tell me what's wrong or I'll use The Stare.” said the normally docile and shy mare in an upset but stern tone.
“You wouldn't dare.” Rainbow said in the same broken way before Fluttershy walked in front of her longtime friend and began to Stare at her.
Rainbow began to feel a powerful surge of fear run through her as Fluttershy’s gaze pierced into her very soul, torturing her. It only took a few minutes for her to break.
“Okay, okay, I’ll talk, just stop!” cried Rainbow.
Fluttershy blinked hard, breaking the Stare she had trapped Rainbow in. “Now, tell me what’s bothering you,” she demanded.
Rainbow heaved a sigh. “I always thought I was the fastest woman alive. I mean, I can do Sonic Rainbooms on command, and all kinds of stunts. And then, Savitar shows up out of nowhere. You saw what he did to the Changeling Queen. He was moving so fast, that he was in a bunch of different places at the same time.Compared to that, my Sonic Rainboom is nothing. The speed that Savitar can achieve makes me look like a joke. I guess my pride’s a little beat up is all,” she explained.
“Sounds like your pride is more than just a little beat up, Rainbow,” said Fluttershy.
“Okay, it’s a lot beat up. But, I know one thing’s for sure. I need to get faster. Somehow, some way, I need to get faster and show this Savitar who’s boss. After all, speed is the name of the game, and I am number one, not some guy who appeared out of nowhere rocking some sweet armor,” said Rainbow, a dark look on her face that somewhat made Fluttershy feel more than a little concerned for her friend.
“Rainbow-”
“I’m done talking, Fluttershy. Just leave me alone.”
Fluttershy could easily tell that their conversation was over. With one last concerned look at her friend, Fluttershy left to rejoin the others, leaving Rainbow alone with her thoughts.
…
While the Mane 6 talked about him, Savitar was getting accustomed to the controls of his armor, which even came with its own AI named GIDEON, who was walking him through the basics of his armor.
”The Spectral Armored Velocity Increasing Tachyon Augmented Retroreflective suit, or S.A.V.I.T.A.R. suit, enhances your Speed Force connection and strength by over 1,000%. It is also equipped with a neural interface system with built-in wifi, internet, and visual spectrum abilities, as well as access to radio and broadband frequencies. Additionally, the suit can engage in combat when you are not inside it, providing you with the means to escape enemy capture. In short, you think it, the suit does it, sir,” explained GIDEON.
“Then why couldn’t I project my blade when I was fighting that insect woman?” asked Barry.
”The systems were still recalibrating to your specific brain patterns. This wasn’t your armor, nor was this your original body,” explained GIDEON.
“Don’t remind me…” muttered Barry, thinking back to the events that had occurred before he had been struck by that lightning. He’d had an argument with his girlfriend before he could propose to her, which resulted in their breakup. On top of that, the electric company he’d worked for told him that it was downsizing, and that he’d have to look for another job in a few weeks time.
So immersed was Barry in his thoughts that he nearly crashed into the train and had to make a sharp turn in order to avoid an accident, and as a result, stumbled and fell flat on his face.
”Careful, sir,” said GIDEON.
“Thanks for the advice,” muttered Barry as he pulled himself up off the ground and continued to follow the train.
…
Before long, the train pulled into a station located just outside a large and bustling city called Ponyville. As the Elements of Harmony walked off the train, they were soon joined by Savitar.
Within seconds, the entire station was a full-fledged panic. Screaming filled the air as couples held onto each other tightly, as though the entire world was coming to an end. More than one person got on their knees and either begged Savitar for their lives, for their children's’ lives, or else prayed that God would have mercy on their souls.
”I take it none of these people have ever seen anything like me, or at least HEARD about what I did in Canterlot?”Savitar muttered to Twilight as her friends, being national heroes and all, tried to calm everyone down.
“I’m sure they’ve heard of you, Barry. More than likely they’re scared of you because of how, big, intimidating, and all around terrifying you look,” replied Twilight.
”Makes sense, but I’m not sure if I like the idea of everyone running in terror from me everywhere I go,” said Savitar.
“Well, if you’re really not here to bring harm or take over Equestria, I’m sure they’ll get used to you… eventually.”
Once the Elements had assured everyone that Savitar wasn’t going to hurt them, the group made their way into the city proper, Savitar with some difficulty due to his bulk. As they walked down the streets, more than one person pulled out their cell phone and called 911, only to somehow get a busy signal because many others were doing the same, and more than one time, the group had been surrounded by SWAT officers who were trying to either arrest or take down Savitar, but were thankfully talked down by the Elements of Harmony.
Despite these misadventures, it wasn’t long before the group reached their unspoken destination: a large oak tree that had been hollowed out in order to convert it into a building. A sign on the front lawn read Golden Oaks Library. The group said their farewells and went their separate ways, with Savitar following Twilight and Spike into the library, albeit with some difficulty due to the bulk of his armor.
Once all three of them were inside the library, Savitar knelt down and opened his suit’s back hatch.
“I suppose you want to start your tests right away?” Barry asked Twilight as he climbed out of his armor.
“Actually, I was going to go make something to eat. You want anything?” asked Twilight.
“Umm… I'm not exactly sure you might have what I eat.”
“Well, what do you eat?” asked Twilight, the scientist part of her starting to take hold.
“Well, I’m an omnivore. I need to eat both meat and certain plants to maintain a healthy diet,” explained Barry.
“Well, lucky for you, we Equestrians also happen to be omnivores,” said Twilight with a small smile.
Barry breathed a sigh of relief. “Well, that’s one less thing to worry about. What you got to eat?” he asked Twilight.
…
A short time later, Barry, Twilight, and Spike were having a good time over pork chops and green beans, listening to Twilight and Spike tell stories of their adventures. Barry knew the big question about where he’d come from and where he’d gotten his power was coming, and he’d mentally braced himself for the question, trying to remember the story of the Flash’s origins.
“So, Barry… care to tell us where you came here from and how exactly how got your super speed? Maybe something about your past” asked Twilight.
Barry looked down at his plate with a downcast expression on his mangled face. “I came here… from a place called Central City. I was a CSI for the Central City Police Department. I became a CSI because…” Barry paused for a moment, making it seem as though he was recalling a particularly painful memory, when in truth he was just trying to remember the Flash’s origins. With a sigh, Barry continued his story.
“When I was 11 years old, my mother was murdered,” he said, earning gasps and shocked looks from Twilight and Spike. “It was late. A sound woke me up. I came down stairs and saw what looked like a ball of red and yellow lightning. Inside the lightning was a man in a yellow suit. He killed my mom, a single knife wound to the heart. They arrested my dad. He spent the next 15 years afterward in a 6-by-8 foot cell.”
“Whoa…that… that’s…” said Spike, at a complete loss for words.
“Barry… I don’t know what to say. I’m so sorry,” said Twilight, placing a comforting hand on Barry’s shoulder.
“It’s all right. It doesn’t hurt as bad as it used to,” said Barry, swallowing to clear his throat. “I got my speed one night during a storm. A particle accelerator exploded. The energy from the detonation was thrown into the sky. where it seeded a storm cloud, that created a lightning bolt, that struck me, giving me a connection to what’s called the Speed Force. It’s kinda like the Force from Star Wars, except instead of giving you telekinesis-”
“It gives you super speed,” said Spike, who was starting to feel as though he’d heard Barry’s story somewhere before.
“Exactly. I spent the next nine months in a coma, and when I found out what I could do, I decided to use my powers to protect the innocent people of Central City from others who had gotten powers from the particle accelerator explosion, metahumans, as me and my team called them, who had turned to crime after getting their powers. I called myself the Flash. In the end, the very man who had been teaching how to go faster was the man in the yellow suit, the man who killed my mother. He called himself the Reverse-Flash. After he was defeated, I faced Zoom, who murdered my father right in front of me. After I beat him, though, something happened, and I was propelled into ancient times and was stuck there without my speed. Then, one day, I found the Philosopher’s Stone,” said Barry.
“The Philosopher’s Stone? As in, the one that makes you immortal and turns any metal into pure gold?” said Twilight.
“So the legends say. None of it true, though. In any case, the Stone restored my speed. I then traveled to the distant future and had my armor built for me. And thus, I dubbed myself, Savitar, the God of Speed, just to sound intimidating,” explained Barry. “And then I found $5.”
Twilight and Spike chuckled, despite not knowing what a “dollar” was.
“You’ve certainly been through a lot, Barry. If you need to talk about anything, just let me know,” said Twilight.
Barry smiled. “Thanks, Twilight.”
“So, where’s the Stone now?” asked Spike.
“I lost it. It’s back where I’m from, unfortunately,” said Barry.
“So, if you’ll give me a moment, I’ll get this cleared up, and then we can get started with the-” said Twilight, but before she could finish speaking, Barry whooshed about the kitchen, grabbing up all the dishes, washing them, drying them, and figuring out where to put them in a matter of seconds as orange lightning emanated off his body, while Twilight and Spike could only stare in shock and awe.
“Uh… thank you,” said Twilight while Spike laughed and gave him a round of applause.
Barry shrugged. “It’s the least I could for allowing me to stay at your home. Well, aside from you running tests on me and my armor, that is,” he said. “Shall we?”
Barry led the way from the kitchen, with Spike right behind him. Twilight could only stare after the speedster, and found herself unable to stop thinking about him… or how handsome he looked, aside from the scar, which she somehow found surprisingly attractive...
Twilight shook herself. “Focus, Twilight. You have better things to do than getting a crush on some guy with superpowers who came here from another world,” she firmly told herself as she stood up and followed Barry and Spike out of the kitchen.
…

Chrysalis moaned as she stirred. The first thing she noticed was that her hands and feet were bound to a wall by thick black vines of some kind. The second thing she noticed was there something nearby was making helicopter noises.
“What is this?! Let me go! I am a Queen, not some common dreg to be held prisoner!” demanded Chrysalis.
“Ah, it seems the subject is awake,”said a deep, dark, and sinister voice, one that, despite her best efforts to control it, made a small spasm of fear surge through Chrysalis. Through the darkness Chrysalis saw a pair of glowing red eyes, and the faintest outline of what looked like a man in a yellow suit. “GIDEON, begin the recording,” the Man In The Yellow Suit instructed what seemed to be a small holographic head of some kind.
“Certainly, Professor Thawne,” said GIDEON. ”Recording started. You may begin, Professor.”
“This is Professor Eobard Artemis Thawne, MD and PhD, codename, The Reverse-Flash. Date is currently unknown. Location is currently unknown. Upon arrival to this unknown location, I encountered this specimen before me. I intend to learn where I am, when I am, and what exactly the specimen is, and if there are others like it. Current notations are as follows,” said Reverse-Flash.”Subject appears to be female in gender. Judging by the form of the subject’s wings, subject has somehow assimilated insect DNA into her system. Small crown found near subject indicates some sort of position of authority over others like her. Subject herself has professed to be a ‘Queen.’ Although, at this time I cannot verify what exactly she is supposed to be the queen of.”
The Reverse-Flash silently approached Chrysalis, his demonic red eyes stripping the changeling queen bare and dismissing her as foolish and insignificant, as though she were no more than a lab rat to be sacrificed.
“Can you understand me?” The Reverse-Flash asked the Changeling Queen. When Chrysalis only glared at her captor, Reverse-Flash punched her across the face, causing her to spit out green blood. “I said, can you understand me?”
“Y-yes,” snarled Chrysalis.
“Good. Where am I? What is the date? What exactly are you the ‘Queen’ of?” demanded Reverse-Flash.
“Go to Hell, freak!” snarled Chrysalis. “You think you can just treat me like some lab experiment? I am the Queen of the Changelings, and you will show me some respect! Now, cut me loose!”
The Reverse-Flash took a step back and raised his hand, the index finger of which was vibrating very fast. ”Well, then. Seeing as the ‘ask nicely’ option is no longer on the table… perhaps you’ll give me the answers I seek with a different form of persuasion… Your Majesty…” said Reverse-Flash as he dragged his finger slowly across Chrysalis’ stomach, leaving a deep cut as the Changeling Queen, who hissed and grunted in pain, for it felt like an electrical knife of some kind was digging deep into her.
“Now, tell me… WHERE AM I?!”
