A Heart to Heart Talk
While Aria was walking home, she was nervous, very nervous. Despite being happy that she was able to get everything off of her chest and Sunset giving her advice on what she needs to do, she was unsure as to how she was going to do it. She didn't know exactly what to say to get the talk started. She wondered if she should be subtle about it or if she should be very direct about it, tell Adagio to leave for a while and then tell Sonata that they need to talk.
When Aria got home she found Sonata and Adagio in the living room watching TV. She headed in and was immediately met by Sonata, "Aria, where were you? We've been worried sick!"
Adagio added, "Aria, we were worried something happened. After last night we were worried that we'd never see you again."
Aria had a hard time believing them. She asked, "If you were so concerned about me, why didn't you come out looking for me?"
Adagio replied, "We did come out looking for you."
Aria knew that this was going to turn into a back and forth argument if she didn't stop it now. She said, "Enough about that. Adagio, could you leave for a while, maybe go to Sunset's because I have to have a talk with Sonata."
Adagio blushed, "Sunset's? Why Sunset's?" She got a smile on her face and continued, "Does she want to talk to me?"
While she wasn't sure if she did or not, Aria gave her a cheesy grin and replied, "She might."
That was all it took for Adagio to go bolting out the door. Aria plopped down next to Sonata on the couch, grabbed the remote and turned the TV off. She said, "Sonata, we need to talk."
Sonata knew what this was about. She nervously replied, "I take it it is about what happened yesterday?"
Aria replied, "Yes, it is." She stared straight into Sonata's eyes and began, "Sonata, you know how much I love you...."
Sonata interrupted, "I don't believe you. You say you love me but you say I'm dumb and you call me the worst! Even though you apologize for that in that card and say you shouldn't have ever done that, you still call me that."
Aria continued, "Sonata, I have a lot running through my mind, things that have been consuming me and I really need to tell you about all this, ok?"
Sonata replied, "Ok."
Aria continued, "Sonata, I thought everything would be perfect for us and during our moment yesterday, I had dreams of us starting to share the same bed that very night...." she began to tear up and continued, "but then Adagio catches us. She brings up tacos and suddenly it's like I don't even exist!"
Sonata interrupted, "Aria, you know how I am when it comes to tacos."
Aria continued, "And that's the thing! Someone mentions tacos and you have a one track mind. You can say you love me but I know I'll always come in second when it comes to tacos."
Sonata protested, "That is so not true Ari! I love you more than anything!"
Aria countered, "If that were true you would have at least uncuffed me before you ran off with Dagi to have those tacos." She began to glare at Sonata as she continued, "And to make matters worse, I bought those tacos for us! I did not buy them for you and Dagi."
Sonata replied, "Well...."
Aria interrupted, "Sonata, did it not once occur to you when you left me cuffed to that bed that something bad could happen?" She became more frantic as she continued, "You know what? Last night I had nightmares about yesterday afternoon. I dreamed that after you left me cuffed to that bed, the house caught fire and you and Dagi left me there to die! I had the same nightmare three times, you and Dagi left me to die over tacos!"
The room went quiet for a minute before Sonata replied, "Ari, you know we would have came to save you."
Aria said, "Sonata, you don't know what you would do. When a house is on fire your first instinct is to get out. You don't think about rescuing someone, especially someone cuffed to a bed!"
Sonata again protested, "That's not true...."
Aria interrupted, "I think we need to stop this arguing so I can tell you how I really feel."
Sonata asked, "Ok, so how do you really feel?"
Aria began, "Sonata, yesterday I gave you my heart and I gave you my trust. Me letting you cuff me to that bed was the ultimate showing of trust and when you just left me there for two hours, I felt like that trust was violated."
Sonata said, "Well you said you had fantasized about me cuffing you to my bed and dominating you!"
Aria replied, "Yes I did but I didn't fantasize about you leaving me alone." She paused for a moment before continuing, "Look Sonata, I am sorry for calling you 'the worst' last night and for being such a bitch to both you and Dagi but put yourself in my position. Say I did the same to you over pizza. How would you feel?"
Sonata sighed, "Well I would feel hurt, betrayed and like you didn't love me."
Aria commented, "In other words, you would feel exactly how I feel?"
This really made Sonata think about what she had done. She began to tear up, "I'm sorry Ari, I never thought about how that would make you feel." She hugged Aria and began to cry, "I'm sorry Ari, I'm really sorry."
There was something about Sonata's voice that struck Aria. She realized that she was indeed telling the truth. Aria pulled Sonata to where she could look her straight in the eyes. She started, "Sonata, I want you to know that I do still love you despite what you did to me. Yes I am angry but that doesn't mean that I don't love you."
Sonata asked, "So are we still girlfriends?"
Aria replied, "Yes we are but I think we should take things much more slowly. I don't think we should just automatically jump into doing things like we did yesterday."
Sonata remembered how Aria had said that she was hoping that they could start sleeping together last night and asked, "Aria, I am wondering, do you still want us to sleep together or do you want us to wait on that?"
Aria replied, "Sonata, I think we should take things slow for now." She saw Sonata's face drop and continued, "You'll know when I'm ready. Don't be sad though, we are still girlfriends."
Sonata gave her a weak smile, "Ok Ari."
Aria grabbed the remote, turned the TV on, put her arm around Sonata and said, "Let's watch some TV alright." She handed the remote to Sonata and continued, "And I'll let you pick what we watch."
Sonata squealed, "For realzies?"
Aria replied, "Yes, for realzies!"
A couple of hours had passed when Adagio returned home. She saw her two sisters sitting on the couch, arms around one another watching Sonata's teen romance shows. She gave the two a smile and asked, "I take it you two worked everything out?"
Aria replied, "Yeah, we have." She couldn't help but see a bit of a smile on Adagio's face and asked, "So, what's up with your smile?"
All Adagio could do was give them a nervous grin causing Sonata to laugh, "Oooh, Dagi's got a girlfriend, doesn't she?"
Aria added, "Yep, she does!" She gave Adagio a smile and continued, "Don't deny it Dagi, the smile says it all!"
Adagio replied, "Well sort of, she didn't exactly say we are girlfriends but she did...."
Both Aria and Sonata laughed, "Uh-huh, whatever you say!"
Adagio sighed, "You two are too good at this." She then rushed up to her bedroom, embarrassed that her sisters could so easily tell.
Aria pulled, Sonata close and laughed, "Well once my trust in you is back entirely and we get intimate, we won't have to worry about her wanting to taste us!"
Sonata laughed, "Nope. Now she has Sunset to taste!"
As they sat there watching TV, Sonata couldn't help but notice something Aria said. She didn't say IF she ever got her trust back, she said WHEN. This made her happy but she couldn't help but wonder one thing, when would that be? Aria was glad that their talk was finally over. She was happy that she had got everything off her chest and truly felt like better times would come. When they would come she was not sure but did know when they returned, that bondage would be out of the question.
