Seeking Counsel
That night Aria got very little sleep and during the little bit of sleep she did have, it was a nightmare of her being cuffed to the bed, the house catching fire and right before the flames would get her, she would wake up. These dreams terrified her and only made her sudden distrust of Sonata worse. Once 0300 arrived, she decided that she could not handle it anymore and tried her hardest not to fall asleep.
An Early Breakfast
When the sky began to brighten Aria knew that she had better get out of the house because she had no desire to be around either one of her sisters. While she didn't have a lot of money, she did have enough to go out and eat. After getting dressed, she headed to the Canterlot Cafe for some breakfast. It was still before dawn when she arrived so there were not many people in there and she was seated a good distance away from the next patrons.
Given that she did not eat much supper the previous night, she ordered a larger than normal breakfast that morning. While she was waiting for her food she had all the events from the previous day running through her mind. At first she thought of the money she spent on Sonata, how happy they were when Sonata was opening her gifts and how wonderful their erotic moment was. It wouldn't be long though until her thoughts shifted to Adagio catching them, her mentioning the tacos, Sonata leaving like it was nothing to go and eat the tacos, the quiet supper, being bothered and most of all, her terrifying nightmares.
She had her head down when her thoughts were interrupted, "Ma'am, your food is here."
Aria's head shot up when she heard this. As the waitress was setting her food down in front of her she asked, "Are you ok? I just noticed you've had your head down a lot since you got here."
Aria replied, "I'm ok, it's early and I'm still fairly tired."
The waitress could tell that something was clearly bothering her but figured that it would be best to just leave her alone with her thoughts. As she was eating Aria knew that she had to talk to someone about what happened before it consumed her. At first she didn't know who to talk to until one person came to mind, Sunset Shimmer. Outside of her sisters, Sunset was the only person who really cared about her. She said to herself, "I don't know how she will react or if she will even want to listen, but I'm going to see if Sunset can help me through this."
When she finished eating it was only a few minutes past seven and given that it was a Sunday, she knew not to wake Sunset up too early as like it is with almost everyone, that is the day she slept in. Aria thought to herself, "What am I going to do? She probably won't even be up until nine, much less be ready to have any company!"
After paying for her bill Aria decided that she would go for a walk. Conditions that morning were cool so walking a longer distance would be no problem for her. While she was on her walk she wondered what all she should tell Sunset and wondered how she would even bring it up. While she wanted to just bring it up right away once she got there, she knew that doing so would make her look like the only reason she stopped by to visit was to tell her about her problems.
Seeking Counsel
A couple hours had passed and Aria looked at her watch. Much to her delight it was after nine so she headed to Sunset's, hoping that she would be up and willing to talk. When she arrived she knocked on the door. There was no answer for about two minutes so she turned around and decided she would try later. Before she got out of earshot, Sunset opened the door and said, "Hello."
Aria immediately turned around and greeted Sunset. She asked, "Hi Sunset, I was wondering if we could talk?"
Sunset replied, "Yeah, sure we can Aria." Her hair was still messy and she was still in her pajamas but she invited her in. She motioned for her to sit on the couch and continued, "Give me a few minutes to get dressed and get my hair fixed."
While Sunset was getting presentable, Aria realized that she had likely messed up by simply asking if they could talk. She didn't want to go straight into what happened but with the way she worded things, she knew that Sunset would immediately what she wanted to talk about and she was right. Sunset asked, "Aria, I'm surprised to see you alone. What do you want to talk about?"
Aria replied, "What I'm about to tell you might really freak you out or make you think badly of me. Do you promise not to think anything bad?"
Sunset had had her own checkered past and simply couldn't pass on judgment. She replied, "I promise."
Aria asked, "Do you promise not to tell anyone, especially my sisters?"
Sunset replied, "I promise."
Aria began, "Ok. You know how close my sisters and I are, well I'm closer with Sonata than I am Adagio, much closer."
Sunset responded, "Yeah, even though you tend to be unpleasant towards her, I've noticed."
Aria continued, "Well on Friday night the three of us ordered food and watched a movie like we always do." Sunset nodded and Aria continued, "Well Sonata wanted to watch some sappy romance movie like she always does and we caved in for the seventh straight week but something odd happened."
Sunset asked, "What happened?"
Well we ate tacos again and began to watch the movie. Of course Dagi and I neither one cared for it but once one of the more romantic parts of the movie arrived, Sonata was sitting right up against me and had her arms around me. While I pretended I didn't want her doing it and reluctantly let her do it, I will admit, it felt good."
Sunset's eyes grew wide in shock. She knew Aria well enough to know that she is not fond of physical touch and thought that she would be the last one to allow Sonata to do that. She asked, "What happened next?"
Aria replied, "Well I let her use me as a pillow and by the end of the movie, Sonata had fallen asleep holding me close. When I woke up Sonata, Adagio accused her of having a crush on me and naturally Sonata denied it. I have a feeling though that Adagio thinks she is lying. After that we went to bed and I had dreams I had never had before."
Sunset's eyes grew even wider in anticipation of what those would be about. She asked, "And what kind of dreams were these?"
Aria held her head low and blushed, "I'm really embarrassed to admit this, but they were erotic dreams involving Sonata and myself."
Sunset's jaw dropped open, "Wait a minute, you had erotic dreams about your sister?"
Aria replied, "Yes, it was." She buried her face in her hands and continued, "I know that is probably wrong but that was what happened in that dream."
Sunset asked, "I want to ask you a question and I want you to be honest with me. Do you love Sonata in a way that someone shouldn't love their sister?"
Aria replied, "Actually yes, I do."
Sunset gasped, "Aria, that is......" Sunset then remembered not to pass any kind of judgment so she continued, "Well, that is different but I don't see anything wrong with it." She leaned forward and continued, "Does Sonata know about it?"
Aria replied, "Yes she does. Yesterday I went out and bought her a rose, a card, tacos and I bought her and I somewhat matching nightgowns and undergarments."
Sunset gave her a smile, "You went out and bought her gifts just like that? You've never done that before for anyone!"
Aria replied, "I know. When I got home I gave her everything I got her and I showed her the clothing I got myself and she was ecstatic over it."
Sunset asked, "What would make her so happy over the clothes?"
Aria replied, "Well I bought her a nightgown, a bra and panties that are the same color as my skin and I bought myself similar items that are the same color as her skin. I wanted the message to be, 'I want us to be united, I want us to be like one.'"
Sunset was in such a state of shock upon hearing this that she didn't even know what to think. Aria saw this and continued, "You're really grossed out, aren't you?"
Sunset replied, "No, I'm not. I just never imagined that you would ever have feelings like this for anyone. I always saw you as the type that would never let anyone touch you with the exception of a brief hug from your sisters."
Aria continued, "Well after I gave her her gifts we embraced, rolled around on the floor and were kissing passionately until Adagio caught us."
While she knew that reacting this way was wrong, Sunset couldn't help but laugh, "Oh and how did she react to it?"
Aria replied, "Well the night before I was calling out Sonata's name and then she told Sonata I dreamed about her. Of course Sonata was ecstatic and after that, Adagio left so Sonata and I could go upstairs and have some fun."
Sunset asked, "Do I even want to know what happened?"
Aria replied, "Well I won't go into much detail except that I let Sonata cuff me to her bed. While it was a wonderful time, Adagio caught us and then mentioned the tacos that I had bought for the two of us." She became uncharacteristically emotional and began to cry, "And when Adagio mentioned the tacos I bought for us, she just left me cuffed to the bed. She went with Adagio for the tacos and left me like I didn't even matter."
Despite knowing Aria doesn't like physically being touched, she hugged her and replied, "I'm sorry Aria. I never imagined anything like this would happen and Sonata doesn't remind me of the type to just abandon someone like that."
Aria said, "I didn't think she would do that either but she did." She again began to cry, "She told me she loved me but the second tacos are mentioned, she basically says, 'Well this was nice Ari but tacos are more important.'" She threw her hands up in the air and continued, "I don't even know what to think. I know that if we stay together, that I'll never be number one in her heart, tacos will always be first!"
Sunset replied, "Aria, I want to know something. With this happening, do you still love Sonata in a way that a sister shouldn't?"
Aria replied, "I do Sunset. I still love her more than anything but I'm afraid of being hurt again. I'm afraid of taking a back seat to tacos again."
Sunset suggested, "Aria, when you get home I think you need to get Adagio to leave." She began to blush as she continued, "You can send her over here if you want" Her blush disappeared as she continued, "I think you need to have a heart to heart talk with her. You need to tell her exactly how you feel, you need to tell her how what she did made you feel and you need to do it as soon as possible."
Aria couldn't help but notice that Sunset blushed when she said to send Adagio over. She asked, "Sunset, I couldn't help but notice that you blushed when you said for me to send Adagio over here. Do you have a crush on her?"
Sunset blushed, "Well, uh...." She quickly regained her composure and said, "Aria, enough about that. This is about you and Sonata, not me and Adagio. Now tell me, what are you going to do?"
Aria replied, "I'm going to go home, tell Adagio to leave and suggest she come see you. Then I'll have a heart to heart talk with Sonata and let her know exactly how I feel."
Sunset replied, "Good." She looked up at the clock and noticed it was after ten. She asked, "Aria, I know it is getting late but what would you think about me fixing us some breakfast?"
Aria replied, "Well I ate before dawn this morning but yeah, an extra breakfast sounds good to me!"
During the rest of her time there, Aria and Sunset discussed normal, every day things and despite Aria bringing up her blushing over Adagio multiple times, Sunset was easily able to switch the topic. It wasn't until noon when Aria and Sunset finished visiting and parted ways. When Aria left Sunset's house, she was nervous, very nervous. She knew that there were some things she said last night that may have made Sonata hate her but regardless, she knew this had to be done.
